Horrible experience. I have a migraine today, asked for deep tissue on shoulders neck and upper back and this therapist hasn't got a clue how to relieve a headache or even give a good massage, my worst experience ever and I have had numerous massages over the years. I thought the whole experience from the moment I walked in was not good, and the therapist was late, needless to say I didn't go back to work after this experience which has cost me time and money now. I got my first massage ever here and I won't be going back. Walking in I came in 10 minutes early to fill out paper work and the front staff were really helpful but pushy about their membership even before I got my massage. My masseuse was good, very informative but he talked way too much. During massage you are supposed to follow the client's lead and when I stopped talking he would keep talking and while he talked he would stop massaging. If I was looking for a friend I would give this place 5 stars but since I was looking for a nice place to relax I'm giving Massage Envy two stars. If you are thinking of coming back for another massage at a decent price, you'll have to be under a contract and become a member which is unreasonable to me. read more

I have been having back pain and didn't know what else to do, so decided to try massage therapy. I would say the experience I had at this location was so good, that I decided to become a member. First, they were right on time so no waiting around. Second, they take you back to a very comforting room and ask you if you want the music turned down, the table heated, and if the head rest is comfortable for you. The massage itself was like paradise. I asked my therapist what type of massage she does and in her comforting voice she told me she uses a combination of types, trigger pressure and Swedish. This experience is worth any amount of money if it makes you feel better, and I felt so much better after my visit. read more

Thanks to my daughter who has a membership-I had a fantastic massage w/ Alicia. Our daughter couldn't make her appt. so I went in her place. I was very pleased w/ how caring Alicia and the rest of the staff I was in contact with treated me. I have multiple serious physical disabilities and came out feeling much better than when I went in. My esthetician (Kristi Anderson) took the time to actually listen to my my skin concerns, recommend the perfect facial for me, and had an amazing, relaxing touch that made me and my skin feel rejuvenated! Total relaxation! I've been coming to this location for almost a year. I love the service. I workout a lot so the deep tissue massage is best for me. Lisa is my massage therapist and she is AWESOME! I just had the best massage (if you can call it that) by Carlos. The reason I say this is because he more or less did an hour and a half physical therapy session with me. His knowledge of anatomy and the bodies muscular structure is top notch. I work out 5-6 times a week so my body always needs deep tissue work and stretching to perform at its best. Having Carlos as a massage therapist guarantees that I'll continue to be able to push my body at the gym and be able to recover properly as well. I want to preface by saying that the service I received from the specialist I saw was great. However, once I was done with my session, I went to pay using my gift certificate I had received for Mother's Day for the amount the person who purchased it for me was quoted as being the amount it would be for me to receive a facial or massage. The person at the counter informed me that because I had once before used Massage Envy in the past (also from a gift certificate), that the service would cost almost double what my fiance had been told. Then, they proceeded to tell me that it would not be that much, I would just have to sign up for a "12 payment obligation" totalling almost $800. I was actually considering a membership until it occurred to me that they were trying to bully me into an $800 commitment from a gift that I received. I will never do business with Massage Envy again and I will go out of my way to ensure everyone I know will avoid it as well. read more

I have been coming to this Massage Envy location for 3 or 4 years now. I have a standing biweekly 90 minute massage with Susan. If she's not working, I just postpone. She's rarely off and she knows how to tell where I need the most work. She's intuitive, well trained and loves her work. I never leave there feeling less than great. With a stressful desk job, this bi-weekly routine with her is critical to my success and well being. The desk staff is always great in spite of some turnover. When they do make a occasional error, the are quick to apologize and make things right. Give this place a shot, you won't regret it! read more

She's very popular and books up quick. There are some fantastic masseuses at this location. I've been going to Susan for several years now. She used to teach massage therapy and you can really tell she knows her stuff. When I get a massage from her I feel taken care of. Always willing to put extra effort where I request it and to adjust the pressure as needed. Susan is so good that you have to book way in advance. So I have had to try other therapists. I've never had a bad massage there but Dushanka is another fantastic masseuse. She too is very popular so if you want either Susan or Dushanka - book ahead. I cannot even think to give my latest session any stars but had to in order to post review. Had booked a 90 minute massage with Kate. Pretty much an upper body arm massage. Throughout the session, the pressure gave way to wrist, hand, and neck holding. Imagine my surprise when her hair fell in my face towards the end of the session, her forehead almost hit mine. She had been dosing off throughout the session (which explains the hand holding) and rushed me out suggesting she was 7 minutes over our time. Distressing to say the least - definitely will not be back to this location. read more

I am a member and have been coming here for years. The therapists are wonderful. Shannon was awesome last week. She gave me my first trigger point massage which I loved! They also do facials at this location and Kristie Anderson is the bomb! Very relaxing - always professional. I will say the front office needs to have less people and be more professional. Too much gossip and laughing. What happened to all of the lovely ladies that were there 8 months ago? The atmosphere changed and there are mostly men when you check in which I personally found uncomfortable - someone else may not. They also need to update their system - it takes much too long to check in and out!! However the therapists are great :) read more

Very unhappy with the customer service at this location. I have tried two months to schedule online and nobody ever contacted me so I had to call 3 days later to schedule and by then, they were booked. Also, left two messages for Manger Tracy in 3 days and each time, she was on a phone call and never returned my calls but my credit card was charged even though I had no appointment at that time! Lastly, the atmosphere needs some work. When you finish an hour massage, the lat thing you want to feel is rushed to the front where a bunch of people are checking in at the same time and it's standing room only. read more

In a comedy of errors, I missed the deadline of the package that I had purchased. Daren, the manager at the North Phoenix and Moon Valley facilities, took excellent care of me. I have been a member since this location opened. Over the years I have had some amazing therapists, which is why I gave them two stars. I have canceled my membership due to the unprofessional management. The "new" manager is rude, unprofessional and unable to resolve issues. When presented with a new policy change that effected one of my memberships the manager Tracy was rude, flip and snotty. Not the way to treat anyone, let alone a member who is paying for three memberships. I have canceled all three and won't be going back. It is sad since again I have had great experiences until recently. I also have had to call the center a few times to get things straightened out and out of 15 calls they answered the phone once???? What kind of service is that? Not surprised since I have spoken with the "leader" of this team. It seems to be going downhill fast. Really bummed!!!! :( read more

After my first massage at massage envy i was sure that this would provide great help for my the pain in my back but also a healthy alternative for stress relief. The team at the Norterra Massage Envy location is professional and helpful. My massage therapist has been a lifesaver! Honestly, I am so disappointed by this company. I signed up for a membership after my first massage. The associate did not VERBALIZE or ask me if a 12 month contract was okay. I repeat that I would have not signed up had I known this. So here I am, experiencing a hardship at the moment. I CANNOT afford to use this company, so I call to cancel and than I get told I'm in a 12 month contract. WHAT?! Even those who were with me said they did not hear anything about that. I'm so frustrated because now payments are still coming out. They did offer to let me freeze my account for 6 months, but that still doesn't help because I do not want this contract. They definitely are scamming people for their money. I'm honestly disappointed and beyond upset with the whole situation. I also have tried to contact the corporate office, so we will see if that gets me anywhere. read more

Worst experience I have EVER had getting a massage, and the worst part is that it was my very first professional normal massage. I've had a prenatal massage before from another place. I know for a fact I will never EVER go back to this place. NEVER! I got a massage over a month ago and I'm still having horrible pain! I reached out to the manager who took two weeks to call. I happened to miss it and immediately called back and the girls who work the front said he wasn't available. I asked to be transferred to his voicemail and they told me that they were basically his voicemail system. So I left them a message to have him call me back and of course he never did. I still have a certificate for a free hour massage and I don't even want to use it because of how bad my experience was. I suggest you go somewhere else for a massage. Oh and to top it all off my bestfriend went with me and she's still having pain as well!! I would steer clear of this place! Everyone from the front dest to the managers are horrific!! read more

Sharma was one of the best massage therapists I've had in a long time- and I get massages at some of the most high end resorts/spa. She used techniques that were completely unique to me ( that were amazing) and also told me why she was doing it/ why it helped. She was very informational and even showed me some stretches I can do to help alleviate some of my neck and back pain. Def recommend her! read more

Do not sign a contract. They insisted I could cancel any time, yet for six months I have been trying to cancel. I don't live in the state; they insisted I could use anywhere (I cannot). The owner/director is never available and does not return calls. I have written multiple times. Today I wrote the corporate office and filed a complaint with the BBB. I got a giftcard for Valentine's Day. I was told I could use it for 2 prenatal massages and a facial. I wanted to wait until April to use it so I would be really uncomfortable in my pregnancy and truly would enjoy my massage. Come to find out, that promo was only good for February and my 90 dollar gift card was only good for one prenatal massage and half a facial. I ended up paying 70 dollars on top of my 90 dollar gift card. Clearly a misunderstanding between my mother in law and whoever sold her the giftcard, which is understandable. My one star review is because they did not have a table for my 39 week pregnant belly. If you've ever been pregnant, laying on your side is not THAT comfortable. I honestly got off the massage table in more pain than I was getting on. The massage was meh. I never had one before so I can't compare it to anything else but I couldn't relax and I was very uncomfortable the entire time. Elements has a massage table for pregnant bellies and boobs so I highly recommend doing your prenatal massages there. The facial was nice however I have back issues and laying on my back for an hour was less than ideal. read more

Management lacks any commitment to customer service - it seems like all they care about is the contract and memberships. I cancelled this morning after three years. I accrued over a dozen prepaid sessions so I froze my membership to give myself a chance to catch up. I was told this morning I can't use my prepaid sessions while my account is frozen. They made no effort to reach any solution that would help resolve this. I threw away about $500 in prepaid sessions but time to stop the bleeding and move on. DO NOT SIGN CONTRACT WITH THEM! read more
