Worst experience ever! I was so upset after being disrespected, I could cry. For two days straight I was told a manager would call me back to process my cancellation. Instead, they drafted the payment anyway and I was told a manager would issue my refund -- but no one ever did. When I finally reached the manager, Katherine, she was rude, condescending, and actually yelled at me before hanging up in my face. When I expressed that I felt disrespected and asked for her supervisor, she became even more hostile, kept yelling, and hung up. I was never clearly told that the cancellation takes 10 days or that I would need to fill out a form , so if there was a form needed why wasn't it sent the day I cancelled. Instead of honesty and professionalism, I got the runaround and complete disrespect. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever had, and Katherine should not be in a management role with that kind of temper. I still have 8 credits left, but I don't even feel comfortable or safe using them anymore and wish I could just get my money back. read more

I come here for facial services twice a month. I have seen both Samantha and Chelsea for facials. Both are extremely educated and helped me form and execute a skincare plan. I have done every treatment they have to offer; Microderm, Nourishing Light and Chemical Peels. I cannot recommend the advanced services more!!! Especially a chemical peel, transformed my skin from good to great. It also is not as scary as I thought it would be! I can say I am addicted to getting chemical peels. My skin has never looked better in mine life, I look younger now at 25 than I did at 15. I owe it all to these girls take home products are a MUST. I had been going to Massage Envy at: 3162 E. Indian School Road Phoenix, AZ 85016 I had a massage with Jennifer months ago and enjoyed her services. She is a great massage therapist. Due to my experience with the her, I enrolled in their monthly membership. I have 5, one hour, massages accumulated on my account. I went in for a massage on 11/25 and was told that I could not get a massage with Jennifer because I was pregnant. There is one therapist at the office who will do "prenatal massages." I had this therapist one time previously when Jennifer wasn't available. She spent my entire massage going on about healthcare conspiracies. I work in healthcare and was blown away with her comments, let alone the hour and a half I did not get to relax. When I asked for lighter pressure it was ignored. I walked out feeling worse than when I went in. I was told having a massage with this person was the ONLY option at the location near me. The only other option they provided was to go to a different location. Again, I didn't sign up for a different location or different therapist. I asked to pause my membership and was told I couldn't have access to any of my credits, that I had already paid for until I started paying again, OR I could pay $20 a month to keep my account active. This is not what they advertise when signing up. I am disgusted with the lack of customer service, accountability, or understanding. I spoke with Daniel at the front desk and expressed my frustration and was told the "manager" would call me the next day. Instead of hearing from the manager, Daniel called and said they had a resolution for me. He then proceeded to offer me the same 2 options as when I was in office the day before. The "manager" couldn't even call me as promised. This is the second time I have been told I would get a call back from the manager at this location and never heard anything. I finally submitted a complaint to the BBB and my credit card company who suspended the payments. Within HOURS I received a text message, email, and call from Massage Envy requesting a new credit card to be put on file. I AGAIN requested to speak to the manager who, again, wasn't there. They have been unwilling to provide resolution. Avoid the stress and relax somewhere that cares about your wellbeing and business. I am not one to leave poor reviews, but this has been one of the worst experiences and worst customer service I have ever had and I hope it can help someone else going forward. They do not care about their clients or the fact that they cannot provide services you are paying for, it is all for their profit. Heed caution and find a relaxing environment elsewhere. read more

What can I say... I've had hundreds of massages over the years and I've never felt it was so bad that I just thought not leaving a tip was the right statement to make. Both my aunt and I were seen by two different masseuse and we both had the same bad experiences. It felt frankly as if they just didn't want to be there or like they just hate their jobs. After multiple times of asking for more pressure I was tickled soon after a few minimal seconds of pressure. It felt more like someone was looking around for where to massage rather than massaging anything. I'm almost sad that I wasted so much money and still feel like I need a massage after a long distance drive. Bad massage is an understatement here. I have showed up numerous times for appointments that are booked at least three weeks in advance (when I leave my last session) and they'll say oh we left you a message that we canceled your massage. I look and they've called me like 4 hours earlier to cancel and never spoke to me. It's insane, and they do nothing to rectify the situation - horrible customer service. Came here for what was supposed to be a "60 minute" facial. Arrived 10 minutes early as the email said to, they didn't take me back until past my set appointment time so I sat in my car for over 15 minutes before I finally called and asked if they were ready for me yet since it was five minutes past the time my facial was supposed to start. So the facial finally started around 10:15 (15 minutes past my appointment time) and the facial ended right at 10:50 so I am confused as to how that is considered a 60 minute facial. Also important to mention that I was the first appointment of the day so not sure why I was taken late. The facial itself was fine and the woman was very nice but they need to be honest about the timing. That was definitely not a 60 minute facial and it felt like a bit of a rip off. read more

Worst experience I've ever had getting a massage. The massage therapist was very unprofessional and it just seemed like she didn't want to be there. It was extremely non relaxing from start to finish. You know a massage is bad when you're contemplating asking them to stop in the middle of it. The masseuse never massaged my neck (the one area I asked her to focus on) and she pushed so hard on my lower back it was hard to breath, when I told her she was very nonchalant about it. My lower back is still in pain from the pressure she used. Instead of massaging I felt that she was just putting extreme pressure in random places. Additionally, in every massage I've had in the past they turn you over on your back towards the end to focus on your shoulders/neck, this never happened. The room that I had the massage in was very un inviting and dirty. To top it off she wore gloves during the massage which I've never experienced in all the massages I've had. They offered me a free massage but I am so turned off by the experience I will never be going back. I am sad to say it was one of the least relaxing experiences that I am still thinking about days later. read more

My husband and I were always accommodating them and when we went to cancel our membership we were told we only had 60 days to use our remaining credits. How is there an expiration on something we've already paid for. My husband and I both had 7 credits we couldn't possibly use in 60 days as it's always filled up and appointments are weeks out. I get a massage envy membership through my job which is $80/mo which I thought covered either a massage or a facial. No where does it say that a facial is worth 2 credits online. I show up 10 minutes early for my 60 minute facial. The consultation and the esthetician were great, but then the facial was only 30 minutes long, and I have to pay $75 more for what my membership should have covered. Apparently a credit covers half of the facial which my lady said was $110 (80+75=155) so it would have been cheaper to not have the membership and pay out of pocket?? Plus I got screwed out of 30 minutes?? A little more transparency would be great. I have cancelled my membership and will not be coming back. read more

I have been to several massage envy's and todays visit was just not it. I got a customizable facial today, and I am not pleased. My esthetician massaged my face as if it was a deep tissue massage. When extraction time came, she tugged so hard at my skin. Both very painful. Mind you, I've had a facial at a different location and definitely loved it so I know extractions can be done way less painful. Once I got to my car I realized she had left part of a mask on me. My experience was less than relaxing to say the least. I walked into the lobby and it smelled like food. Not what you expect when walking in to get a massage. All of the front desk staff were chatting in the office to the side and seemed unbothered when I walked in. Someone finally came out and checked me in. She walked me to the couch area, gave me an iPad and told me to fill it out then left. Very short, very unwelcoming. Different than what I saw when I left my massage. She was in the room sitting with others filling out the questions for them. Once I got into my room for the massage, it only got more weird. The masseuse, while very nice, made very strange grunting sounds throughout the entire massage. I could hear her heavy inhale/exhale. Prevented me from really relaxing and enjoying the massage Needless to say, I will not be returning to this location. I've visited a ton of different ME locations around the valley, along with getting several facials at higher end spas and resorts, and I have to say Samantha is 100% the best aesthetician I've come across! Her knowledge of all things skin combined with her amazing massage skills make for the most relaxing but invigorating facial experience. I always walk out with glowing skin for several days after, not to mention the improved mindset from being able to fully decompress for the session. I feel strongly we are spoiled to have Sam for the price we do, but if she ever leaves to go work at a fancy Scottsdale resort I will 100% follow her talents wherever and pay $400 an hour! "After waiting in the lobby that was so cold it felt like an arctic exhibit at the zoo, I went into the room for my 90 minute massage. After absolutely freezing through the back portion I told her to just cut it short because I was too cold so she did and ended it after 50 minutes. I looked at the thermometer in the room and it was set at 66 degrees. When I left they said sorry they would only charge me for the 60 minutes instead of 90 which I said was 50 and they said all 60 minute massages are 50 minutes. I used to own 2 spas and we offered 50 minute and 80 minute and called it that. Just a disappointing experience and not enjoyable at all shivering through the entire thing. read more

Warning! My wife and I joined this Massage Envy location a couple of years ago. Overall, we had a good experience. Until Covid hit. We were on a month to month membership at that point. We froze our account, and that took awhile and we ended up getting an additional charge. Then finally we decided to cancel. That took a few months and additional charges. Finally the paperwork was completed. I called to make sure that our accounts were cancelled and was told yes. And then the following month they charged again. I love this place! My esthetician, Samantha, is the best! I truly trust that she knows what is best for my skin! I've been seeing Samantha since January and she has been helping me improve my skin. I deal with sensitive skin along with acne. She always takes steps before my appointment to make sure that I am okay with all the products that she will use. She always takes steps throughout my appointment to make me feel comfortable. Samantha is very knowledgeable when it comes to the many different products that are out there. I use Tretinoin and she always makes sure to educate me on how to incorporate it into my skincare routine. The membership is a great option and is fairly priced. They do promote their products that they have in store but I also find that these products are extremely high quality! Very polite and checks in to make sure you have a great massage. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think the rooms are always too cold. I went in for a 90 minute massage with James. It was AMAZING!! My only advice is to thank him profusely before he even begins because I could hardly even form words afterwards. He is magical! He had perfect pressure throughout the massage and payed close attention to areas of tension. While the massage was good, their business practices are AWFUL!!!!!!!!! During my initial consultation, one of the questions asked on the form and in person is if you have a FSA account (which I do). The sales lady insisted that massages are covered under FSA and that I could just pay with my FSA card since the transactions are approved. Luckily, I don't have a FSA debit card and I have to submit my expenses and get reimbursed. She failed to inform me that in order for the massages to be covered, I would need a doctors prescription for massage therapy. NEVER ONCE DID SHE MENTION THAT. Since she told me they are covered, I went ahead and signed up for a year membership. WHAT A BUNCH OF CROCK. Please inform your customers correctly rather than leading them to believe something that is a lie. Now I'll be paying for the massages out of pocket, when I thought they would have been covered by my FSA. Shame on you for the deceit. Shame on me for believing you were an ethical business. If any of you do have a debit card and pay for your massages that way, please be aware that eventually, your FSA carrier will ask you for the prescription and if you don't have one, you'll have to reimburse your FSA carrier. When choosing to get a massage here, it is important to know that you are going to a corporate 'chain' massage establishment. If you do that, your expectations will {most likely} be met. Keep in mind that you are by no means going to a 5 star resort or day spa and the quality + service of Massage Envy are definitely not at that level. I've never bought a membership to Massage Envy {But my boyfriend has had a ton of problems with his!}. Most of my massages have been transferred from friends or my boyfriend, so for $10, I don't have much to complain about! However, I will say that if you are going in for a 90 Minute massage, it will most likely be a 75 minute {or less, depending on how long they make you wait before coming into the room to get started.} I waited for 10 minutes under blanket yesterday {felt like FOREVER} and then she stopped 5 minutes early so that I could get changed! This is honestly a big reason that has kept be from buying a membership, along with never knowing the quality of your therapist. I would say 2 times out of 5, I leave a happy camper. Warning: Do not get a membership unless you TRULY know that you will use it every single month. Otherwise the massages stack up and you may lose them if you don't use them in time. I got a hour deep tissue massage and it was incredible definitely need to drink water afterwards or you'll get a headache. But they provide water and tea and they have a very nice living room with magazines and the decor is quite lovely they also have a numerous array of products ready to sell of course but the Ambiance was nice the music was loud and at one point I found myself almost lost in the massage not asleep just lost. My first challenge was booking an appointment. I went on-line, entered the requisite 5 steps of data only to see "Uh oh, no appointments available". I then searched by my preferred time range and date for the next 20 days with still the same message. Then I searched for any time or any day for the next 30 days with still the same message. I thought, "Wow, this place is popular". This location is only 5 blocks from my house so I drove over to see them in person and perhaps get on a waiting list. I entered and told them what my experience had been on-line. The ladies behind the counter were nice but one who initially helped me seemed to be unfamiliar with the process but finally told me they did not have any openings over the next few days. The other lady behind the counter then joined the conversation by mentioning there was one Saturday at 5:00pm. I was pleased and said I would be happy with that time. The first person then took my info and appeared to be entering my data. then she asked for my credit card to hold the appointment. She then said that the computers were acting up and needed to write down my info, including my credit card info so it could be entered when the system was again functional. I left thinking all was well and not a bit suspicious of that whole 'write down the credit card info". I returned today just before 5:00pm for my appointment and she asked if I was Stephen. I am not and told her my name and she said she did not have me on her books. I then reminded these same ladies of my recent scheduling in person just 3 days prior and listed details of our conversation. I received a blank response. She asked for my phone number and entered it then told me that I was not even in their system. This was disappointing after spending the time setting up my profile in person. She did offer to check with the Camelback location and was able to offer me an appointment for tomorrow but this did not work for me. At that point, I decided to cut my losses and left. read more

Massages were good and customer service was good in the beginning but just wait until you try to cancel. I attempted to cancel twice but yet they still charged me. Tried to cancel by filling out the cancellation form via email then I went in there in person to fill out a physical form but yet continued to charge me so I had to go to bank and change my debit card. This then caused more issues. My account was suspended when I still had one credit left. I figured I could use my one credit then be done but they refuse to let me use my credit until I update my card info. However I refuse to give them debit card info because they will charge me monthly all over again. I am 100% sure of that. Why do I have to argue with them to use my one credit that I have already paid for? Every employee has said they can't do anything about it. Its a very simple process - book my massage - then I'll be done. I suggest you never sign up here! read more

my massage was nice, I had a gentleman with longer hair- and he did a great job. In fact I did tell him I would come back to have him rub just my scalp for an hour, he was so gentle with my hair. The staff is sort of pushy when you leave though. I understand you try to sell after the experience, maybe implement a follow up call or something?
