I recently visited The Spa at Talking Stick for a solo mani pedi spa day. The Spa is located on the 14th floor with a beautiful view of the mountains and golf course. The amenities include a jacuzzi, steam room, relaxation patio area and access to the hotel pools. They had water with fruit, tea and some snacks available and they also do have the ability to order drinks and meals directly to the spa if you're wanting even more. You also get a locker for the day with a robe & slippers. They have everything you need for getting ready after your service or using the pool like shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, mouthwash and more. I enjoyed my service of a regular polish pedicure and gel manicure. My technician was very friendly and we had great conversation throughout. The pricing was very reasonable imo and both services turned out great. It was a great self care day all around. I'd definitely return again. read more

Every year for my birthday, I treat myself to a spa day. It is my guilty pleasure as I am someone who does not drink or smoke so spa treatments are definitely my idea of a celebration. I always like to try different spas and every once in a while, I'll go back to my favorites! I had heard great things about the Talking Stick Resort Spa and I decided to try it out. I found a deal on ResortPass for a facial treatment that includes a day pass for the spa and pool. Sounded like a win, win, WIN for me! It was definitely a perfect price. Also, the people from the spa contact you to book your service so you don't even have to do anything except for wait for the call. I had to change my original appointment and they were so lovely and sweet on the phone. You got a lot of reminders via text and email prior to your appointment. Parking is complimentary in the casino parking lot. You'll have to walk through the casino through the elevators leading to the tower on the 14th floor. The spa has a eucalyptus steam room, a whirlpool, women's locker room, waiting room, the option to purchase food in the tiny café, and a little bit of an outdoor and indoor relaxation area. I had my facial appointment with Lynda. She was absolutely amazing. Not only did she give me a great facial, I felt like I left feeling relaxed, but also very educated. We talked a lot about skin care, routines, products, and she acknowledged the things I was concerned about regarding my skin and offered a lot of advice. I felt like that validated my spend even more that I had a skin care lesson on top of a relaxing experience and a great conversation with her. Such a lovely human being. She's been at the resort for 16 years and she's Scottsdale born and raised, she's been there since the resort started. Definitely a pro and I'm glad I ended up with her. I got there 20 minutes early because I wanted to be able to go to the locker room, relax, snap a few photos, find my bearings, but the girl upfront that made me wait in the waiting room and I was driving from Queen Creek so I really had to pee. I didn't understand why I wasn't allowed back there. I had to ask. She said there was nobody to get me because they were so busy. Finally, I told her I was just going there because I had to pee. She left her stand and brought me back there. I didn't really know what was happening. She gave me a locker and then she left. Then eventually, another lady came to get me to walk me over to the locker room. I had no idea what amenities were there. I told my facialist and she apologized and made sure someone would give me a tour thereafter. I also had a few questions with if I had pool access, if I could order food, also with my ResortPass came with a complimentary glass of champagne, and since I don't drink, I was asking if I could redeem it for a different drink maybe a juice or something and the answer was a big fat no. So they don't have anything to accommodate people who don't drink?.I went to the pool for a little bit, they gave me a key to use so I could get in. I got a fruit bowl. Generous size, but I wasn't really into the marshmallow fluff dip. Maybe Greek yogurt or honey or something, but not fluff. On my way out I played a casino game and I was on my way. Mediocre facilities, unprofessional staff, whirlpool under construction, serving caramel popcorn as the snack option, dining area looked like a cafeteria and the highlight was you got to sit on a balcony in 102 degree heat. Nothing upscale about this at all. Now comes the massage, asked for deep tissue, got the lightest massage I've ever received in my life. Asked for more pressure, nothing. Asked to focus on neck back and shoulders, ignored. Didn't even do my neck at all. Paid $200+, could've gotten a better massage from a massage chair. Do not waste your money! read more

I was skeptical about this spa because of the reviews but this has ended up being one of my favorite spas in AZ! The day pass is only around $100 I think but with the massage it's about $180 which I think is worth the extra spend! You get to spend all day using the amenities like the sauna or hot tub and all of them have a great view of Scottsdale. I also loved the private balcony to get some fresh air and enjoy the view. The massage itself was relaxing and a good addition to the spa experience. The only downside is that the spa is only open until 6pm. I can't wait to book another spa day here! read more

I've been to so many spas in the valley and this one tops them all. They have a couples room and tons of rooms for massage and facial along with a mani pedi room. The girls locker room has lockers with a key fob,steam room, shower, hot tub and great views. I love talking stick casino and everything else it has to offer but the spa was a let down. I did not find the staff friendly nor welcoming, I wasn't crazy impressed with the women's spa areas, food ordered was not good at all which was shocking because elsewhere in this hotel the food is good. Also my massage was started late and ended earlier. What was done wasn't a good massage either unfortunately. The facility was nice, clean, and it wasn't crowded. Our first massages were at 9 when they opened, so we arrived early and waited in the hallway with about a dozen other patrons. When they began checking us in, we overheard them turning away walk-in patrons who wanted to pay the fee to use the spa facilities because they were fully booked. I was pleasantly surprised that even though they were fully booked, it never felt crowded. We did not have to wait to find seats on their scenic deck, and there was never a crowd in the hot tub or steam room. The rain showers were amazing and the view from literally any window on that floor was absolutely gorgeous! The spa is on the 14th floor, so the view is just amazing! We didn't use the outdoor pools, but it's easy to get to - you simply go down the elevators and voila you are there. We weren't' so keen on going to find the pool, so we actually didn't realize that they were so easy to get to until we left. My massage therapist Lynn was incredible. I typically prefer male therapists because I never get enough pressure during the massage. However, I told Lynn at the start that I like a lot of pressure, and she delivered! I had the hydrotherapy massage and a head and scalp treatment back to back with Lynn, and I was in heaven! I was so relaxed that I may have drifted off a little! My husband also had Lynn for his River Stone and Birchwood massage and head and scalp treatment, and he loved her as well! read more

Oh my! What a treat. I decided to book a Desert Lavender Reflexology and a Scenic Sole Soak! Glad I did! Alex was my little assistant as you could say while touring the spa. She showed me all that it had to offer and could get me anything I needed. You arrive and get a Robe, slippers and a locker! It has great spaces to just relax. From a nice look over the golf course to an all-female Sauna, Steam room and Jacuzzi! My massage came first and then off to my Scenic Sole Soak! Victor was great he took really good care of my feet! I was relaxed by the smells of lavender and the sounds of calmness. This was fabulous! Next, I was led out to the patio to start the Sole Soak! Again! I was helped by Alex my little assistant (for the duration of access to the spa). She had a large Bowl waiting for me with foot salts, lavender and some rosemary! Yay! I was very impressed and felt pretty special! Considering I was the only one out there doing this Soak! I had two ladies ohhhhhing and in awe about what I was doing. Sitting there enjoying the views. When it was a perfect day to be outside on a deck for sure. I have to say this left me with a Highly tasteful experience! I would recommend this place for sure. SIDE BAR: I did feel bad for the two women next to me. They ordered wine and the waitress just couldn't get it right. It took over an hour to fill their order correctly. Had the best time at the spa this weekend .. two gf's and I took advantage of New Year special and booked 60min dream massages. What a treat!! First the views from the 14th floor in Dec when everything's green is amazing! After checking in and a quick tour we headed for the jacuzzi to relax first .. We were instructed to wait in the lounge /waiting room close to our appt time and our massage therapists would meet us there.. Marie was my therapist and she was great .. the dream massage includes your choice of essential oils and it ends with warm stones on the neck and shoulders .. it was relaxing, pressure was great and those stones felt so nice on the skin The steam room to sweat out more toxins and a shower with a view .. in the shower you are overlooking the pool and golf course .. don't worry there's frosted glass so they can't see you! This resort has some amazing views of Red Mt. and Arizona desert landscaping. Nestled away on the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian reservation in Scottsdale, Arizona. I enjoy the signature massage Krystl has some amazing hands. I also treated myself to a organic deep cleanse with derma plane treatment. It was my first time to add cupping off the secret menu to my massage treatment. This was amazing. The overall experience you receive at the resort is top notch. The spa is located on the 14th floor of the Talking Stick Resort. You do have to make a reservation for a massage or facial before you go. However, if you are staying at the hotel you can walk in and pay $50 to use the services. They have a eucalyptus steam room, whirlpool, a lounge, a patio, snacks and drinks. Aside from the patio and lounge, men and women have their own steam room, whirlpool, and snacks and drinks. I made a reservation for a 9am Signature massage. You must arrive 30 mins early to sign a waiver, receive a tour of the facility, and change out of your clothes into a robe. They also provide non-slip slippers. You also get an electronic key to a locker for you to store your belongings. The Signature massage allows you to choose between three scented oils: Eucalyptus and mint, Lavender, and Sandalwood and Patchouli. The eucalyptus didn't smell like anything to me. The lavender was faint. I really liked the sandalwood, so that's what I chose. My masseuse Felicity was amazing! She was very warm and polite. She made sure I was comfortable during the entire massage by asking me about the pressure, temperature, and how I was feeling. I would recommend this spa because of the services, masseuses, and scenery. After my 60 min massage, I spent a good 30 mins enjoying the view from the patio. It was perfect! read more

Reading through some of these reviews, I wonder if we went to the same spa. Of all the reviews I read, Vanessa R.'s is the most accurate to the actual experience. As she mentioned, the spa has a grungy feel to it. "Outdated" may be a better description. I was simply not impressed. (There's potential though with the help of an interior designer and a bit of renovation.) Let's start with finding the place, it's not easy. You'll be going through the middle of the casino between the slot machines & tables, so keep that in mind as you choose your initial spa outfit. $100 Spa Facility Day Pass ($50 for hotel guests): You may or may not get in. They were out early in the day. Thankfully I was able to get in, though I was surprised they ran out while it was still morning. Lockers (with digital lock): Included with admission. Hot Tub: The hot tub was actually hot with bubbles and jets. Loved it! Eucalyptus Steam Room: Couldn't smell the eucalyptus. It looked like a sad humid dungeon. It may as well have been a gym steam room instead of a spa steam room. Food Lounge: You know the hotels with free continental breakfast? This is that lounge. Complete with the dry snacks (instead of cereal) from dispensers. Outside Lounge Area: Beautiful view. There are couches that seat between 3-4 people and individual lounge chairs. It was chilly in January so I would recommend bringing a blanket. (The spa had a few, but they were all in use.) Pool: It's the same outdoor heated pool hotel guests use. If you're not a hotel guest, remember to request a pool key. If you go straight from the spa to the pool and are not a hotel guest, the only way back into the building is through the casino. I got an Organic Deep Cleanse Facial and the Facialist Tammy added on a salicylic peel, she explained it wasn't going to burn my face and that it was neutralized seeing as I suffer from sensitive skin and eczema on my face. Meh. 540$ later I am feeling so so about the experience. I took my boyfriend for his birthday today to have a 90 minute couples massage. I had mentioned it was his birthday and no one every said happy birthday sadly. The facility is okay, everything is a little grungy, a wad of hair just sitting in the steam room which did not smell of eucalyptus. It was not calm battling in the locker area trying to just get through as they booked a ton of people, I had hoped it would be quieter than it was but I can't do anything about that. I asked for the strongest man or woman therapist for my boyfriend and I could tell he didn't really get a lot out of the massage, the last ten minutes they kept dropping things and it killed the vibe. I had hoped to have some snacks on the patio after but the menu is horrible, no charcuterie, no chips and salsa, really strange choices and mostly Chinese food, not the spa feel but that is just me. If you have a budget it isn't a bad place to go just don't expect anything similar to other Scottsdale resort spas. read more

My fiancé and I had a spa day here to celebrate some life accomplishments and we had a lovely time! We got a couples massage and were able to use the amenities for the entire day. We got there early in the morning to use the gym...we were a bit disappointed with the equipment, but at the end of the day it was a hotel gym. We used their luxurious locker rooms and rain showers and got all dressed for brunch at one of the restaurants downstairs. We spent a couple hours lounging on their rooftop patio while sipping drinks (which you can order from the spa). Our couples massage was lovely! The therapists followed Covid regulations and checked in regularly to make sure we were doing ok and had optimal pressure. We spent the rest of the afternoon using their lovely sauna and spa and rested up in the peaceful lounge area. This may not be the best spa in Scottsdale, but for people who are on a budget this was definitely the experience that gave us the best bang for our buck. read more

However the woman who did my massage said all my issues are related to getting the Covid vaccine which was very off-putting to me and changed the vibe of the massage. Can't decide between 3 and 4 stars. I got the signature facial which felt great but the facialist didn't explain a single step of it. I wish she told me what she was doing as she did it because I have sensitive skin and would've loved to just be in loop. Definitely don't waste your money on the pedicure though. It wasn't even in a pedicure chair they just brought over a bucket of hot water to a regular chair.. I also noticed after I left that she completely forgot to paint a toe.
