I visited this massage location in Redlands on Colton Street on May 31st around 7:30 p.m., hoping…read moreto relieve some lower back pain. The receptionist was kind, and after a brief discussion, I chose a one-hour deep tissue massage. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible. The therapist used excessive pressure, which made my pain worse, and she placed hot stones on my back without checking the temperature, causing a burn. I tried to express my discomfort, but she didn't understand English, so I couldn't stop her. After the session, I spoke with an older gentleman at the front desk. Once I paid, he asked if I would leave a tip. I declined, and he became outraged. I told him that a tip is optional, not mandatory, and that the reason I wasn't leaving a tip was because the massage was horrible, and the service was poor. He didn't like my response; he told me I was the worst type of person, that my kind of people were horrible, and he launched into a series of racist insults, disparaging Mexico and Mexican people, calling us the worst. He refused to return my card, even though it was rightfully mine. When I threatened to call the police, he doubled down, asking invasive questions about my citizenship, all while continuing to disparage Mexico. Only when I started recording him did he backpedal, claiming he had no issue with Mexicans. Eventually, another staff member, presumably the owner, stepped in, calmed him down, and gave me my card. This was a deeply distressing experience, and I strongly urge others to stay away from this business. Everyone deserves respect, and this establishment failed on every level.

i received a gift card for massage envy some time back but never used it as there were none close to me. when this location opened and i realized i could finally use my gift card, i called and they were able to book me an appointment for the first date and time i requested. i had a male therapist (i think his name was michael - tall black gentleman), and it was an excellent massage. years of sports injuries have built up and i'm in pain from them everyday but he was able to help and provide relief from the pain in ways medicine and chiropractic appts. have not been able to. i had read beforehand that massage envy as a company is membership-based and was a little apprehensive that i would get a hard-sell after my session, but the front desk girls were very genuine and kind throughout the whole thing. i never felt a "car salesmen" aspect from them, but was instead informed about the prices and shown the best way to get the most for my money. i did go ahead and sign up for the year-long membership, but it was because i was thoroughly given all the information about it and was able to make the decision myself, and not from feeling pressured. i've been a member now for a few months and i've learned a few things: pre-booking is the way to go if you have a very specific time or date that you want to get in - i can see why, the therapists here are good. 90 minute or 2 hour sessions are offered and they are well worth the price and time. and i enjoy how i am now on a first name basis with the girls up front. i don't feel like a client or someone who gives the business money, i feel welcomed every time i come in. read more

I switched to this location about a year and a half ago when my home location closed. They have never had a steady manager since I started going to this location which has caused a lot of problems. They finally got a steady assistant manager, Savannah, who should just be the GM. They finally got a GM, Tiffany, and this girl is awful and I do mean awful!!! She's rude and disrespectful to customers and refused to help when their location was shut down for this Covid-19 ordeal. She still charged me during the shut-down and refused to refund it because she said it was company policy. Funny how my other location never had any issue doing it for me before. Also she must think customers are idiots because we know they are franchise locations which means centers choose which "policies" to use and when. So her discretion was just to be nasty to customers. Cancelling my account entirely and never using massage envy again. Onto the next massage place, hopefully one that values customers. In conclusion, go to the one in Fontana for your home location those guys are awesome and have better masseurs anyway (ask for Essence she's the best!). And avoid the Redlands location at all costs! Quick note: after posting this review the manager changed her tune and decided to refund and email me an apology. Too little too late if you ask me, the first five emails was the window to fix it. Massage Envy has been my go to ever since the Redlands location opened. I see a lot of the low star reviews on here and I don't get it - the front desk girls are all incredibly friendly and helpful and if you need something they can't do, they'll forward it to management who has ALWAYS been helpful and prompt with their response. The therapists here are great and i haven't seen one who isn't able to leave me feeling relaxed and recharged. The front desk girls are all very knowledgeable and have gone out of their way several times for me with strange requests that I have or any questions I need help with. Just be nice, folks! They're a busy clinic, the only one in this direct area I believe so remember to call in advance to book - but I know without a doubt that they try their hardest to ensure every client is happy, which is why I have been loyally theirs for 2 years now. read more

I am a member thank goodness! But I actually just recently went to reflexology place with my sister because we just got done shopping for hours and we thought we get a quick $20 massage. Let me say, you get what you pay for. I am so happy that I am a member at massage envy! The cheap reflexology place was not clean, they talked the entire time, my guy burped through the whole thing, and they were all over the place. I'll pay extra money a month to make sure I can get a professional, clean, and personalized massage any day! I love my massage therapist Mike and will never leave him again! If you're looking for a deep tissue massage, TRISHA IS AMAZING. I hadn't been to this location before, so I was nervous, as I needed a new massage therapist. Trisha did not disappoint! I have struggled in the past with requesting deep tissue massages and not receiving them the way I have asked due to reluctance on the massage therapists' end. I had not had a massage in quite a while, and had severe clusters of knots throughout my shoulders, back and neck. She had the perfect amount of pressure that helped release a lot of them as well as help me relax, which softer massages fail to help with. I received a gift card for Christmas to this location for a 1 hour massage and I was more than impressed with the service I got. I believe my massage therapist name was Sara and she was very intuitive during the massage when it came to pressure and the areas that I needed work on. I just had my first massage here and it was AMAZING. Michael took phenomenal care of me. Rather than just push really hard on the spots that hurt, he figured out how to get my tight muscles to release their tension. He was careful to make sure to work on that areas that were bothering me (my neck and back from my turtle-posture =)). I did find out later that I have spinal stenosis , but the place that I had the pain in, when I went in was completely gone. I recommend listening to the relaxing music as you have your massage.

I saw two people (physical therapist & masseuse) prior and they told me "yah they're just points and your shoulder blades." Okay! But them my husband said no it's not normal go to another masseuse so I did. I found Erika here on Yelp & I'm glad I gave her the chance! She is very sweet and informative. I booked an hour massage and it actually helped me relax. So much so, I started to fall asleep but I forced myself to stay awake. And let me tell you, I have had sleep problems my whole life and I've never been able to just relax too because of my neurodivergent diagnoses. But she helped me relax. She worked on my shoulder knots more toward the end and she was able to break them apart, but not fully rid me of them because we had ran out of time. But best believe I'll go back for longer. Afterwards, I was worried I'm not going to lie because for the rest of the day my shoulders & neck were sore. But I have it the night because I know she did a lot. The next morning, I felt good! Still a little sore but definitely a lot more flexibility in my neck & shoulders. (A bit of context: before I went in I had pain in my right shoulder & couldn't life my arm a certain way) but I was able to helicopter my arms! It was great. I definitely recommend. & please, don't let small spaces or individual businesses/spaces scare you away. This is quite common in Redlands, especially in DT!
