I've been to Massage Envy before--in fact, I was a regular customer for several years before COVID. I liked this location then. However, though the office staff is still friendly, the masseuse was terrible. Kaela used so much pressure that I have deep purple bruises on my back, and it is still sore two days later. I was privileged and spoiled by one of the best during my competitive cycling career and with the bar raised so high it is, frankly, hard to locate someone with the same touch and abilities. My segue to Massage Envy was a couples session that enticed me immediately into an annual contract. No hesitation. While I didn't stay with that lass I did, after a few auditions, end up with her favorite masseuse! Enter Robert... First, however, I want to acknowledge the wonderful hostesses who greet me with a smile and genuine friendliness in my now long-term relationship with this location. They are fantastic at resolving any problems with billing, saved me money on the second year extension, and tip me off on how to accrue points to use in the future to extend sessions to 90-minutes or facial or footcare treatments. Way to go! Robert is my go-to guy. From sports I learned the best masseuse is the one with the appropriate hand strength but has the delicate touch when muscles are so sore and lactic they hurt at certain pressures. I am happy to say Robert has not only gotten to know my needs on a regular basis, he's a great conversationalist as well. Some days I just need neck and shoulders, sometimes a head-to-toe, but no matter what I leave rejuvenated. If only I could afford a massage every week! So had two appointments for couples massages for my fiancé's birthday and get there and guess what they only have my appointment in the book at let me know that my fiancé's massage therapist called off and only my appointment was scheduled and they did not bother to give me a heads up he wasn't going to be available. They also did not even bother to offer to reschedule something for the same week just said "oh we have next Thursday" like we all the convenience to just waltz on in whenever we please. They failed to make me feel relaxed or tranquil over the phone. THEY CALLED ME to CANCEL OUR APPOINTMENT. My husband made an appointment for me Christmas Eve morning my Christmas gift. I got a call less than an hour before my appointment saying that my therapist called off work. Because I prefer a female therapist but there was not one available we cancelled my appointment. She suggested a Monday December 26th appointment but I declined because I would be unavailable for the holiday. Apparently, she proceeded to schedule the appointment because I received a call confirming my appointment tonight. I explained the situation and the rep insisted that because her screen said I have an appointment that my husband made it and I was responsible to show up or "Unfortunately be charged a cancelation fee" Again, I tried to explain I didn't agree to an appointment and that I would not be coming in. The rep didn't hear me out, she didn't say, "let me look into this" she wasn't apologetic for the mix-up, she was rude with me, short, and persistent on me having this appointment the day after Christmas. I reacted to her threats to charge my credit card for her mistake. I got pissed and told her "I am not the one you wanna mess with my money, I don't play". After that, I asked to speak to her manager because I was getting irrate. She refused, and I was done. I called her out of her name and she hung up. Look, I'm not proud of my reaction but I was reeled into that one. I know that Message Envy is not qualified to handle me, I need to be treated with respect and professionalism from a mature, understanding and tactful center. Poor customer service. Jennifer "so called" manager is confrontational. This location placed a charge of another client on my card. They have not provided a satisfactory resolution. Vianelly another front staff is condescending who created the problem has done nothing to escalate a resolution. Karla the General Manager of this location has taken no ownership of assisting to return my hard earned monies! (Several hundred dollars) This is 2nd incident of this magnitude. The therapists are great and was the sole reason I come. But the unprecedented and unprofessional demeanor of the management and front staff is alarming. This location is kind of a hit or miss. There are a few pretty amazing massage therapist that work here. I've also had some crappy ones where I almost decided to get up and walk out but I just stayed bc I didn't want the awkward energy. I think it's important to kinda feel the room as a massage therapist and not ask a bunch of personal questions about someone's life or occupation. Just keep it a chill relaxing energy. It's odd to get asked what you do and then go down a list of how stressful my job must be. I go to get massages to not think about things and relieve stress as part of my self care routine. The chill relaxing music is nice and then just if this is enough pressure... I don't want to talk about work or hear too much about someone else's stress also when I'm trying to relax. It's hard to get an apt also. I forget the good therapists names by the time I finally get a chance to get one so it's kinda like playing Russian roulette lol. I still go in hopes that things improve and bc I have a membership. My points stack up sometimes for sure for different reasons and I've thought about removing my membership. I go to massage envy every 3 weeks to get facials from Lela, and they are INCREDIBLE!! She has literally changed my skin. I have never felt as confident as I do now! I will say though, that you should definitely use the Murad products they recommend in between facials so it up keeps the hard work they do during the session. Jessica is amazing as well! They are ok. First they don't let you cancel your membership early. So it kinda sucks you're locked in. Sadly, some of the girls are not very helpful. In June I had a baby, decided to make an appt for my husband, in the middle of the newborn (it's our first) chaos he forgot his appt time. They called to ask if we were going to make it. The girl on the phone was incredibly unhelpful and didn't seem to know anything. She put us on hold to ask someone else every time we had a question. Very poor management and customer service from this business. I was scheduled for an appointment at the Apple Valley location in November 2018. After a same-day cancellation by Massage Envy, I booked a same-day appointment at this Riverside location so I could still enjoy the service I desired. A membership was offered by a front desk representative. Although I had explained the circumstances that brought me to the Riverside location, the representative did not explain the potential consequences of making Riverside my "home location." Further, the representative miscalculated the period of my contract. I agreed to 6 months to test the service. She wrote 6 months on the contract, but actually listed 8 months for the start to end dates. Misleading!! My first two appointments were in Riverside, although I live 2 miles from the Apple Valley location. The company advertises 60-minute facials. Both times I received a facial that was about 40 minutes. That's a long drive to get cut short on what I'm paying for. It's also false advertising. I decided to get my services closer to home in Apple Valley. Again, not 60-minute facials, but about 50 minutes. I was more satisfied with the quality of the service in Apple Valley, however. After twice being told at the Apple Valley location that they could not determine what "credits" I had to apply towards payment under the membership, I asked to switch "home offices." I was told that I couldn't until my membership ended. At my March appointment in Apple Valley, the front desk representative apologized to me and said the system was down so she could not tell me how many "credits" (actually money paid to this business) was on my account. When I had reached the 6 months, I called the Riverside office and told them I wanted to cancel the membership. This was around April 20th, the representative on the phone was quite rude and told me that I have to complete a form to cancel. She warned that the form needed to be "fully completed" to cancel. What does that mean?! She emailed the form to me and had also warned that it would not be processed until Monday and then it would be 10 days before the cancellation was completed. My question was, "Why is the membership effective immediately, but it's 10 days to cancel?" I returned the form by email and demanded immediate cancellation. I received a call on April 30th (10 days later) from Joanna saying she had cancelled my membership immediately. I checked my bank account to determine how many times I had paid Massage Envy and not received services. I did this because I could not get a straight answer on my "credits." I saw two payments of $65 where I had not received a service. When I signed up for the membership, I was told the payments were cumulative and did not need to be used every month. Since the cancellation form stated that I had 60 days to use my "credits," or more accurately, to spend my money after cancellation, I made an appointment with the Apple Valley location on May 11th to get a Mother's Day massage. I planned to use all the money on the account. At the appointment, Angelique said my account showed that my "credits" had expired. In other words, the Riverside office decided to keep my two payments of $65 without providing me the services. I had made 6 payments of $65 and received only 4 facials. Angelique told me that Joanna (she called her the Riverside manager) said I cancelled my membership immediately and so my "credits" expired immediately. She also said Joanna stated she told me that in a phone message. I showed Angelique the phone message converted to text so she could see that was not true. No contract provided by this company allows them to withhold my money under these circumstances. I left the location without getting my Mother's Day massage and being told Massage Envy was keeping my money. I do not recommend this business and am now in the process of taking action against them to get my money back. This is no way to treat a paying customer!! Buyer beware! read more

I've had 5 visits at this location and have been more than happy with my massage every time. Charlotte Z is wonderful, especially if you like light pressure. This location is not my "home" ME, but I like coming here because the work is consistently good. Every massage I've had prior "light" pressure made me want to cry. Charlotte is able to work out all of my muscle knots and is very professional! All of the front desk staff I've worked with have been professional, kind and helpful. I highly recommend that customers who are unsatisfied with the contracted agreements he or she made, and now want special treatment out of, to read before signing any paper work in the future! So I went in for a prenatal massage yesterday and my appt was at 2pm. I arrived at 205 and filled out my paperwork, used the restroom and then answered some questions the front desk asked me. By the time I got in the room and changed it was 215-220 and I had a 60 minute massage I paid for, by the time she said I was done I got up because it seemed short and I was right it was 2:55pm she shorted me like 25 minutes. They seemed rushed and disappointed that I couldn't even get a full massage . They need to set timers . I always check the time after they are done because of this reason.
