Had a great massage from Cy today. He was very skilled, thorough and the massage was enjoyable as well as feeling productive, which is a hard balance to strike. Best part was the extra care and attention he paid to my problem areas. I love a good deep tissue massage and Cy managed to give me exactly what I needed without making me feel too beat up at the end. I've only been to Massage Envy twice (this visit being the 2nd). The first time I went to a Massage Envy was a many, many moons ago and a different location. After that first visit i never really cared to come back only because that one experience led me to falsly believe that all Massage Envy really was, was a botique spa...you know, croon worthy when it came to the actual place but mediocre massage and massage therapists. While I loved the vibe, decor, sheets, ocean sounds and all the other details the massage itself wasn't good. Alright, a year into my membership, I think it is time to write my review. Over the last 12 months, and a few prior to that without the membership, I have received nothing shy of amazing service. Whether it's for a facial, a micro dermabrasion, or a massage, I always leave thrilled with my visit and ready to come back. First let's talk facials: not only do they do an excellent job of caring for your skin, but the aestheticians here also recommend future care to your skin and will talk you through your home skin care routine to help make improvements not just on the table, but on your own time between sessions as well. In the last year I have noticed my skin (with every other month facials and the changes I've made to my home routine) is now more plump, more hydrated, and I almost never break out in acne. The people at my work tell me I come to work glowing everyday and I almost never wear makeup anymore! Now for the MASSAGES. I have had a number of massages from a few of the masseuses here, all great and do a good job of listening to what you need. I do need to take the time here however to shine the light on the best masseuseI have ever had. Hats off to Manny! Never before have I had a massage from someone who caters so much to my needs and keeps the entire experience enjoyable. He has magic hands, I swear by it. Being someone with a previous back surgery, it is hard to find someone who takes into consideration what that might mean for the client, and does a good job asking questions in order to become familiar and comfortable with the hardware in my back. So for that, I am extremely thankful. Second off, my shoulders. My shoulders have been a problem area since I was 12, I have never been able to get the knots out completely and they usually cause subsequent back and neck pain. Anytime I see Manny, I leave with new shoulders. I am loose, I have better mobility, and any pain I came in with is melted away-- I always cannot wait to come back. I cannot rave enough about him! The atmosphere is light-hearted and relaxing, like talking with an old friend-- but also being massaged! I will forever be his client. Furthermore, the front desk staff is always (and I mean ALWAYS) sweet, kind, helpful, and pleasant. This review is for Massage Envy in Riverside Plaza, Riverside, CA. I was highly dissatisfied with this location's staff. Vianelie was extremely rude to my mother and I. My mother couldn't make her appt so she told Vianelie to hold it for me, her daughter. Vianelie explained that she will hold it for me until I got there with a credit card for the file. As I'm walking in, my mother calls me to tell me Vianelie gave my appt away to another customer. I spoke with Vianelie and told her who I was and that I was here for my mom's appt. She rudely stated that my mother already canceled her appt 30 minutes prior. Which is untrue. I said okay thank you, as I'm walking out she rudely says, "Yeah okay, byyyyyye." Needless to say, my mother and I returned ten minutes later to speak with the manager and leave a message for the owner! We will NEVER return to this location and will NOT recommend to anyone. I've been coming here for about a year and a half and never did I feel like it was a waste of my time or money. I live in Moreno Valley and a new massage envy just opened which is literally 5mins away from my house --but I would still come out to Riverside, dealing with the traffic, just to get my services done here. I've been going to Malcolm since day one. There were times were I saw different masseuses just because I needed to come in that day, but I still prefer Malcolm over anyone. Don't get me wrong, everyone is great! But Malcolm really hit all of my problem areas. With my career, I am on my feet all day. I use all my upper body muscles including my traps, shoulder blades, etc. By the end of the day, it hurts so much. Seeing Malcolm at least once a month has made my life so much easier. He is very professional, friendly, and makes sure I am comfortable during my whole service. So hands down, I really absolutely recommend seeing Malcolm! Also, for about 2 years I've been dealing with adult acne! I couldn't figure out what to do. It came to the point where I couldn't wear any makeup otherwise I would breakout even more. I felt like an adolescent. I tried numerous products from Shishedo, Mario Badescu, Dermalogica, first aid beauty (from sephora), Foreo's Luna sonic face brush, belief, to super light organic products, etc. Using them of course for a long term to get my skin use to it but nothing worked. My skin started getting super dry and I started getting acne scars -- it was miserable! So finally when I had an appointment with Malcolm I asked the girls at the front which were all super sweet and gave me an appointment with Jessica. At this point I was very hesitant. But I was so desperate! Jessica is amazing!! Very professional as well! She listened to what I was going through, checked my face and told me "Yes, it will take a few sessions to get my face into a better shape." She did her thing, did extractions (THAT DIDNT HURT!) then ended my facial. She also gave me tips on what I should do. Never did she push for me to purchase any of the Murad products. Well I ended up just wanting to try something completely different and inquired about Murad. She recommended which cleaners, toner and moisturizer would be a good start for me. I purchased all of them and asked if I should get anything else. She said no just try those out first until I saw her in my next appointment with was 3 weeks later. NO JOKE, MY FACE CLEARED UP!!! Yes I had a few pimples here and there but it was 90% better! I continued to do what Jessica told me to do. Came back for my appointment 3 weeks later and she was very happy with the results! This completely changed my life. Today was the 3rd time I saw Jessica and my face feel so soft and smooth again!! My family and friends are so happy for me! Going to Jessica was the best decision I've ever made! I can't thank her enough! Lastly, I love all the girls at the front. Everyone Is very professional. I've been to a few Massage Envy's where the girls at the front were just talking about drama that none of the clients care for. Natia is always there when I come in. The masseuse I had was very sweet, made me feel comfortable, and did an OK job, however, seemed inexperienced compared to far better massages I've gotten from other places. What completely put me off to this place is the sales-y approach before and most especially after our massage. My boyfriend and I just wanted to go for a day of relaxation, which I disclosed in the beginning. Right after our massage, the girl started going over membership prices and SO MUCH information about who knows what - it COMPLETELY ruined the experience for me and I felt my stress coming right back after we came there for a massage to destress! This is one of the most excellent franchise locations. I have yet to meet the owner, but it seems like everyone is treated well and that means I am treated well. Get there 15 minutes early--leave your phone in your pocket and chill in the quiet room with tea or water. This is the time to think about adding on a facial or a sugar foot scrub. Or you can think about the last time you ate and consider evacuating your last meal before embarrassing yourself on the table. If you you only do an hour, don't do a full body massage. Just work 3 parts like neck, head and shoulders...or back, hands and feet. Otherwise time will run out and you'll never really get the results you want. If you're a hairy beast, your therapist will probably go through a gallon of lotion taming your winter legs or built-in sweater. Either shave off that junk beforehand, or throw an extra $5 down at the end. Also consider doing just an hour at first as you try out the different therapists. Eventually you'll find one you like. And if you have a certain spot that needs help, ask the folks up front for a therapist who best suits your need. Some are better with feet, cranial-sacral or trigger points. Don't rush to complain to management if you weren't clear to your therapist about your specific needs. TALK TO THEM...they will go lower, higher, deeper or softer. But if you're one of those trolls who gives a place like In-N-Out burger 2 stars, 1) there's no helping you and 2) you should just go somewhere else and free up a spot for people who want a good massage. I personally like deep tissue and would tell you who I like but then Jennifer would get booked up and would have no time for me so I won't tell you that Jennifer is my favorite. Now I am hooked on the two-hour sessions twice a month until my back feels better. I feel like I arrive at 6' tall and leave at 6'2". Make the most of your membership and get there at least once a month--better weekly if possible. And tip these people well. If a McDonalds worker can make $15 a hour pushing cardboard, how much more is a good therapist worth? Plus, they've pretty much seen you almost as naked as a Kim Kardashian Twitter feed. If you look like her, the therapist will happily forego the gratuity. If, however, you look more Melissa McCarthy in the buff, consider a nice tip as some things cannot be unseen. read more

The introductory price of $60 is reasonable, but I am not going to sign up for the monthly contract because it is too much of a financial commitment for me. So for me to drop in, it will be $100, and I would be willing to pay that for special occasions or when I'm incredibly tense. I went in tonight with a friend for a 9pm reservation. I scheduled today so I am grateful they were able to fit us in! The girl who booked my reservation did a good job, the location is brand new and beautiful. Very clean. My therapist was Malcolm. He did an amazing job! He was super attentive and my favorite part was that he explained everything to me! I really appreciate understanding more about my service. He did aromatherapy and more of a deep massage. His leg and foot massage was wonderful and he worked hard on my neck, which was really bothering me before my visit! Malcolm did an amazing job! I have been going to this Massage Envy for several years now. The staff are all very welcoming, friendly, and professional. I have a chronic illness that causes continual pain. My massage therapist is trained in many types of therapy and never fails to relieve pain and soreness..along with headaches. She is very professional and follows my leading, which is to have no conversation during my massage. When I can't be specific about the location of pain, she always finds my rough spots and eases them. All the staff make me feel like I am coming home with each visit. I've been a member before and have visited a few locations including in northern CA. I really like this location better than the other one in Riverside. I felt like the customer service was better from the get go, which made a big difference to me. I was able to schedule my prenatal massage and facial within a week. When I arrived I had the fill in the usual forms and then I was asked if I wanted to sit in the tranquility room. The chairs were comfy in there :) I was called by Denise first for my facial and she did an excellent job! She has a nice touch for facials and she gave me good advice about my skin. Kari was my next stop and she helped make sure I was super comfortable for my prenatal massage. It was so awesome I nearly fell asleep!
