I booked a massage late on Wednesday for a Thursday AM spot. By the time I completed the booking, the spot showed unavailable. No problem, I booked the next opening. The next morning I received and email confirmation for the 1st spot booked. I called the spa and was told they will charge me for both appointments since the spot could not be rebooked and cancel was within 24 hours. THE BOOKING WAS WITHIN 24 HOURS. According to the GM, the therapist has to get paid since the cancel was not within 24 hours. She also confirmed both appointments were booked within seconds of each other but would not assist me. I would not book the Savage location. There are MANY other locations that treat their members fairly but not this franchised location. I went to this Massage Envy location and left with bruising and soreness all over. My masseuse, used extreme pressure (not a deep tissue massage) and I asked her three times to "please go lighter " in which one instance I told her that she was actually hurting me. She did not listen and told me that I was "so tight" and continued to apply extreme pressure. Additionally, she was 10 min late to the service and forgot to the addition that I paid for. When I called Massage Envy to complain and ask for a refund on my service they offered me a giftcard which is entirely inappropriate considering what I had received out the experience. I explained that the refund wasn't as big of a deal to me but rather that this does not happen again. There response was we talked to the person and "I get bruises sometimes during mine too." I am completely uncomfortable, sore and irritated by the response Massage Envy has taken in the matters of a client being bruised and in pain after a service. I'm really bummed right now because I went in for my noon massage to find it was cancelled. With a full time job it's been really challenging to get an appointment with a masseuse who uses firm pressure. I have today off from work so I scheduled this massage in advance. When I found out today's massage was cancelled I filled out a form to cancel my membership. I have 3 credits to use up within 60 days and the soonest I'm able to get in with the firm pressure masseuse at 4 pm is March. I'm disappointed. read more

My husband bought me a gift card for a massage here and I ended up getting a 90 min massage from Marlo. I asked her to focus on my neck, shoulders and back. I was happily surprised that she didn't take any time in the places I didn't want done. Other places I have gone to spent a lot of time in areas that I wasn't wanting done even after being told what I wanted so I was excited to see that she stayed on those parts. This place is absolutely ridiculous. I received a couple of gift cards for MassageEnvy for Mother's Day from my wonderful daughter. It is now August, and still trying to get an appointment. It is SO frustrating I can't understand how anyone would ever be able to use a gift card here (Savage, MN location)! If I am a casual customer, why would I want to wait so long to get an appointment? Literally - every time I have called or attempted to schedule an appointment online, it is a minimum of a 6-8 week wait ... for a 60 minute massage, after which I get to look forward to being hassled into purchasing a membership?! I have had both facials and massages at this location. I am a woman and have had male massage therapists twice. The first one was pretty good, but he left on an extended vacation. The other mail massage therapist didn't seem to have a clue that his technique was way too intense for me, even though I breathing hard and wiggling around to withstand the intensity. I was sore for over a week. On the bright side, this location has a fabulous esthetician named Kat. She is very familiar with and trained on the various skin product lines that are being used around the twin cities. She pointed out that a person should switch up their skin product lines for Summer and Winter. Nobody else has ever mentioned this to me in all the places I have had facials. The Murad product line they use at Massage Envy is pretty good. Was very happy with my facial and Kat was very informative. read more

I received one of the best massages from Sawat. My upper back, shoulders and neck were so knotted and sore I could hardly tolerate it. Sawat worked so hard on my upper back and gave me so much relief! The only problem I had was she wasn't able to work on my feet due to the time. Next time I will book a 90 minute massage. Facility was very clean and calming. All the staff was friendly. I had never been to a Massage Envy before and scheduled a 90 minute facial - at the intro prices it was a no brainer. Unfortunately smack dab at 60 minutes in we were done -- and then she explained she only had me down for 60 min. :( I was really, really bummed out. Had been looking forward to this extended pampering for a few weeks. Anyway I went up front to pay and explained my disappointment (very politely) and much to my surprise they offered me a free future upgrade and were very, very accommodating and apologized for the error. I ended up getting a 6 month membership. EXCELLENT customer service and my aesthetician did a really great job. My skin is looking and feeling great. read more

I've been to this location 2 times and will never go back. I have a couple problems. The front desk lady (same woman helped me both times), is extremely rude. The first time she shoved the membership down my throat. I told her 20 times no thank you, I travel a lot, no time, too many monthly bills already, I don't need another monthly membership, etc. Nothing was good enough. She seemed personally offended that I didn't want to sign up and had the BIGGEST attitude with me. I finally dropped my smile and said no for the last time. Decided to give the place another shot, the same lady checked me out and the same thing happened again but worse. She was visibly agitated that I did not want to sign up. The looks she gave me, the attitude and tone of voice she used, everything was horrible about her. This time she was trying to force me to schedule my next appointment, I told her I won't be getting a massage for a while because I'm getting a breast augmentation next week. I have never seen a person look so DISGUSTED with me in my life. She didn't know what to say. She looked at my chest and rolled her eyes to the lady standing next to her, and couldn't look me in the eyes after I said that. All she could do was stare at my chest. I tried to keep a smile on my face and be friendly but at this point I had enough. She continued to give excuses why I should sign up for the membership after repeatedly telling her (very personal reasons) why I can't. She couldn't respect me enough to stop shoving it down my throat. I finally signed my receipt after a good 30 minutes and walked out without saying another word. On the other hand, my masseuse was a sweetheart. However, I told her multiple times to use more pressure and she didn't. I paid to get pet like a dog two times in a row. I came to this Massage Envy with my sister in law for a girls spa day while I was visiting Minnesota for the weekend. I asked to be put in the couples room so we could chat and relax together - that was a huge plus for me. We both had 90 minute facials and 90 minute massages and they were both spectacular from start to finish! My esthetician was absolutely amazing, she really knew her stuff and was up to date on all the Murad products. I was a little disappointed their Murad services weren't the same as my ME home location in California. But, given the demographics in Minnesota - I can understand that facials are probably not super popular. The massage therapist had magical hands! I thoroughly enjoyed my chat with her and she really worked on my problem spots! I have been going to Massage Envy's since 2009 - I've been to Massage Envy locations nationwide from Washington DC, Florida, California, ect. and I have to say that there is certainly a reason I keep coming back - they are absolutely amazing !! On July 20th I called massage envy in Savage to schedule an appointment for a facial and a massage. My husband bought me $140 gift card at this location. They gave him a voucher for a healthy facial! When he bought it, they advised him to get that amount because I could have asked for the introductory rate for the first massage and get a total of 2 massages and a facial. The facial had an expiration on August first. I have been on the phone for 20 mins and 46 seconds according to my phone, because the scheduler was kindly trying to combine my massage and my facial. After she set my appointment, she asked me some questions. I told her I was going on a medical spa for a laser hair removal, so she put me on hold for the 10th time and she assured me I could have had my chemical peeling facial because the day of the appointment would have been over 6 weeks away. To excuse herself for the long call, she put a note on my file to grant me the introductory rate for both treatments. I thanked her! On the 23rd of July, I received another call. This time she said, I could not have a massage and a chemical peel at the same time because the massage would have been too stimulating. In the meantime, since she called, I asked her about the "great deal" she gave me to grant me the introductory rate for both appointments. Her answer was: "nobody can have a massage and a facial in the same appointment ". That's not what I asked! I thought I was going to ask about the money in person once there! It doesn't make sense I could only get one massage and one facial when you are actually granting me the introductory rate for both!!! On July 25th, I received another call from M. envy. This time they were concerned about the laser. I assured them by the time I was going to have my chemical peel, it was going to be over 7 weeks away and they were only concerned 4 to 5 weeks. The same day I called them because I received a call from my sister from Europe. Mom is passing away. Frankly, I wasn't thinking about my facial, but since they reminded me and since my facial had an expiration day, I asked them if I could have changed my facial appointment before the 29th ( the day I was leaving) and the massage whenever after August 22nd (the day I was coming back). They gave me the choice to go there the next day, July 26th! It was pretty good I thought. One hour before my appointment, I received another call! It was because of my hair laser again. They said I couldn't have a chemical peel, because of my laser hair removal. Since the facial voucher mentioned a healthy facial, I asked if I could just have a quick healthy facial? She said it was going to be perfect! Since of all those issues, I went there 30 minutes earlier instead of 15 minutes! Once there, they make me fill out a lot of paperwork! I have been waiting for 1 hour going back and forth with, yes facial, no facial! Apparently you need to wait 4 to 5 months! At the end, they said they were sorry, but I couldn't even get a facial. they could have cleaned and massage my face and neck area but no exfoliation of any kind. My skin truly needed some deep cleaning to eliminate all my black spots and impurity. What can a simple cleanse and a massage do to my skin? I really didn't have that kind of time, I obviously had a lot on my mind like traveling to Europe with a toddler. Without mentioning why I was going to Europe! They truly increased my stress to the top! I have never had so many troubles making an appointment in a spa. Mostly, I have never been treated like this, ever in my life!!! All the scheduling mistakes and all the different versions they gave me, why would I think you are competent enough of anything? So I asked if I could give up to my facial voucher but at least recuperate the $140 dollars my husband spent on the gift card. They said gift cards were not refundable! You can't give me any service and I told you about my laser SINCE DAY ONE I scheduled my appointment! If you are so accurate and precise, why didn't you review my chart since day one? They had weeks!!! The manager (without knowing or caring for what truly happened) said I needed to reschedule the facial later on, however, since the voucher was going to expire, she extended my date for one year. How can that be a solution if I just told her I have to follow my laser hair removal every 4 to 6 weeks for 7 to 8 times in order not to miss my next hair growth??? I am 40 years old, I had a lot of facials done in life, several massages but never had so much trouble with it. It has been always a pleasure, not a stress!!! read more

The only reason Massage Envy in Savage, MN received even ONE star is because there has been two masseuse therapists I really liked. As for the management and receptionists at the desk, they really lack a sense of compassion and hospitality. My mom and I came in for a massage and at the end of it was spoke to about signing up for memberships. I was personally a college student so I was not able to afford the luxury neither did I have the time. As for my mom, she wanted to try something and the woman who I distinctly remember was the assistant manager or manager of the spa, signed her up. She spent 30+ minutes explaining the membership policies, offers, and price. My mom's first language isn't English so it was between me and her and my mom. Not once did the woman mention there was a contract for 1 year to stay with them. If we didn't spend all that time sitting there listening to her try and con us into a membership, maybe we'd have time to read the fine print they had on the little ipad screen for initialing off different policies, which I'm sure the 1 year policy was mentioned in 10 pt. font in comic sans. My mom called to cancel and was told she couldn't until one year. They tried to spin it on my mom saying that the woman who sold to us did explain and the woman on the phone said she even witnessed it. I've worked in sales before and I get that bonuses from selling people memberships is great and rewarding but if you are doing it with lack of ethic or morale, you should get a new job. read more

Do not sign a contract with this company. When end your contract you loose your credit. They never give you a copy of cancellation to future read saying you have 30 days to use your credit. I have lost around 150.00 with this company. My therapist cancelled all the time and now she moved. I never recieved any thank you card from her, saying she was glad to have me as a customer. Very poor company. Think twice in signing a contract with this company. They dont care. read more
