My experience with Spa Envy Queen Anne has been delightful. I want to give them 4 stars for many reasons but I think the staff there also wants to be better which in my book is 5 stars. It also conveniently located in my neighborhood up on Queen Anne Ave. I've had many amazing massages and others that were OK. Tell them what type and pressure of massage you want because they care about matching you with the correct therapist. I'm now working with Hillary and every deep tissue massage is amazingly therapeutic. I'm recovering from many surgeries so I need adjustments and relaxation to heal. My posture is better and I feel good. Yes, I'll share her name...HILLARY. The staff is awesome - welcoming and helpful both on the phone for scheduling and at the salon. It's a new salon and the staff is gaining experience and to me - their business is running smoother. I'm telling you - the staff's attitude is infectious with kindness. I love it! The membership plan has been positive for me due to cost savings and monthly reminders to come in and take time for myself with a massage. When I missed a month massage, my time was added to the next month and so on. So for the next month I scheduled a 2-hr massage and I just melted. You don't need a membership and the regular costs are reasonable. They also work with Health Saving Plans which is very helpful! read more

I visited this location in upper Queen Anne for a 60 minute massage with Olivia. From the moment I walked into the spa I was impressed. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and then taken to a waiting room until Olivia was ready. She was very professional and made me feel very comfortable. I have to agree with a couple of the other posts- I came here for a prenatal massage and I arrived early, finished my paperwork early and I waited and waited till they brought me back, I was asked to change and she didn't come back into the room for what felt like 10 minutes...I paid for an hour massage and figured she'd just go overtime since it was already 15-20 past my appt time even though I showed up early. But no- she actually ended 5 minutes EARLY...so I think the total was maybe 40 minutes tops...just frustrating because I purposefully arrived early to avoid this type of situation. read more

I have never been disappointed with any of my Deep Tissue therapists, and my facials with LeeAnn are equally as fabulous and effective. If there were only a dry sauna option here I would make a full spa day out of my visits on the regular! I like the product line and I have started to use some of the Murad products at home as well. I received a gift card for Massage Envy, and scheduled an appointment for a facial. They had early availability and I was able to get in very soon. The staff at the front desk were nice, although seemingly inexperienced and a bit unprofessional. Marina performed my facial, and she was excellent. She had a down to earth attitude and easygoing yet professional manner that set me at ease. She really worked with my problem skin to do a treatment that was best for me (a clay mask and light glycolic peel were employed) which left my skin looking and feeling amazing. Murad products were used. She went beyond the typical product suggestions and gave me a few additional lifestyle tips to improve my skin's condition. The reason for the three stars is the extremely hard upsell that's presented to you before your appointment, after you appointment, and with two unsolicited phone calls afterwards. It was incredibly irritating especially after politely informing them that I wasn't interested. Calling me during dinner hours was even more irritating. I will be returning for a facial from Marina (she's worth the hassle) but am not looking forward to the barrage of pushy sales tactics. read more

I have been a Massage Envy member for years and have had the best experience at this location. Melissa at the front desk took so much time to make sure that I was booked with a therapist that would fit my needs and wants. She even took time to look at scheduling to ensure I would not have scheduling conflicts in choosing a therapist that I could continually reschedule with. She ended up booking me with Alicia who was the perfect therapist for me! It just goes to prove how much is pays off when someone takes the time to make sure you are getting the experience you are looking for. Alicia is a great therapist and I would highly recommend her if someone was looking for "work" to be done and deep tissue. She was very communicative and in touch with what my muscles and I needed. I travel for work and I have a membership with Massage Envy. I needed to get a massage while I was out in Seattle. The availability was perfect for me upon the phone call to when I stepped into the store, everyone seemed helpful. I arrived early in the clinic, so the front desk would be able to help me 'customize my experience'. The therapist that I saw helped me with my aches and pains from traveling. I was able to get in within a reasonable time and the front desk treated me very well upon checkout. I would give them 5 stars based off their customer service and the quality of the massage I received. I will be going back when I travel here again. read more

I typically don't like posting bad reviews but they definitely earned it. I recently received a massage from this place and believe me, I will never be back. I couldn't get past the lack of cleanliness. I first noticed the crusty lotion hand print on the purple blanket. I asked my therapist how often the blankets get washed and he said once every 7-10 days. The carpets look like they have never been cleaned so I asked if the clinic gets professionally cleaned. He said no but they do their best to keep everything clean. I was completely disgusted. After my massage, I was offered a wellness plan with a hard sales push. Not the greatest thing coming out with massage brain and just wanting to relax. The girl had great reasons for why I needed monthly massage and was completely right. I need regular massages, but it most definitely will not be at this clinic. I had heard from many others that the mangers were very rude, have the worst customer service and the membership was a complete scam. I live in the neighborhood and wanted to experience this for myself. The membership offers you a $59.99 massage once a month. You are locked in for 12 months and I have heard nothing but horrible stories of members not being able to get out of their contracts. It is also hard to make appointments because they don't have many therapists. There are plenty of clean, respectable massage places in our area. Don't waste your time or money!! read more

I've been a member for a few years now and always have a good experience, some better then others. It takes some time to find the right therapist for you, but I've been fortunate to find a few. They do seem to go through quite a bit of attrition, which is why I've had to keep trying different therapist after mine left. I've never had a negative experience and overall I'm satisfied with my membership. They did just recently up the cost, but I recently was offered a free 30 minute facial following my hour long massage and decided to try. Although I consider myself to pretty healthy skin I learned a lot and would not hesitate to come back more regularly if I needed to. The massage chain is not for everyone and I do wish this would go toward my insurance deductible, but I keep going back because of my accrued massages I've paid for and good therapists. read more

I have had the worst time trying to schedule a massage with this business. My girlfriend and I had scheduled two massages about 2 weeks in advance then when the day arrived we learned that our massage was scheduled for the wrong week. Certainly this could be due to miscommunication so In order to make amends we rescheduled for the following week. Now we learn that our massages are not only scheduled at the wrong time but also a week apart from one another. Even if you are desperate for a massage, DO NOT choose Katrina. I have been getting massages for over 30 years and she is by far the worst LMP I have ever experienced. I recently moved to the QA massage envy to follow my massage therapist. It is a beautiful facility in the heart of upper QA with a staff who treats you like royalty. I obviously am obsessed with my massage therapist or I wouldn't have followed her, but I highly recommend Sara especially for deep tissue & athletic massages. She works magic on my muscles everytime I see her. I used to work at a spa and have had many facials before. Last weekend I received my first facial at this location though I was apprehensive because my last massage envy facial in Bellevue was abysmal. I left feeling like my face had been violated. However, the esthetician at MEQA was amazing! She knew what she was doing she knew what products would be best for my skin type & I truly felt rejuvenated afterwards. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about this location. I would recommend asking about parking as street parking on the weekends is limited. I have heard there is a garage in the back. read more

I want to like this place. My boss is a gem and treats me to a massage once in a while. My first one was AMAZING, my therapist fixed my life in an hour. Next time I called she had left. *sad face* next time I came, my appointment started late with no one giving me a heads up while I sat there. My massage fella picked me up, we chatted, the massage seemed like he knew what he was doing but was just going through the motions. Then he didn't rub my feet. 90 minutes and no feet (feet love being rubbed). I'm on those about 10 hours a day 5 days a week, weird. That's never happened to me in a massage before but I'm thinking, whatever, my shoulder feels good and this was a gift. Then I get to the reception area and am told I owe 150.00. My credit was for an hour and I confirmed when they confirmed my appointment that it would be a 25.00 add on for the extra half an hour.... this turns into about 20 minutes of them trying to figure out how to fix this. While my poor massage therapist has to come out seeing me still there and probably worry what's going wrong. Completely ruined any relaxation I had. I get it, it's a corporate place, but for someone that rarely gets pampering it was a huge disappointment. read more

Went here because I was really tight and have a lot of knots, I went to Katrina, and it was the worst massage I've ever gotten. First of all she was 10 minutes late, and didn't seem very welcoming or friendly, and then we started and she wasn't applying enough pressure so I told her she can go harder and she did for a few minutes and then went light again. I'm guessing she doesn't have strong hands or was just tired, she would hold one spot for like 2-3 minutes.. really wasting my hour and not getting in to muscles at all.. So then I bought a foot exfoliating add-on and she totally rushed it, and left scrub residue between my toes. So when I left I was expecting her at the door with water (how massage envy always does) but nope she was gone, didn't even say bye or hand me water. I do like the location and the front desk girls, and Julie is an amazing massage therapist, but I would never recommend Katrina to anyone. She does all the right things - asks which areas need attention, focuses on those areas, and communicates well throughout the massage without going overboard, asking about pressure or flexion when appropriate, all resulting in an excellent massage. More: Before writing this I read some other reviews. I don't care about parking, or ambiance, or if ME tries to sell me products, those things seem fine to me - if you don't want to sign up, or products, while it can be annoying, just say no. I just care about the quality of the massage. I'm a runner and cyclist, and when training for races I find regular deep muscle massages vital in helping both prevent, and rehab, injuries. Thus, I'm a ME subscriber who has occasionally let lots of monthly sessions pile up. Recently I went back to the QA location and was very pleased with the quality massage from Jasmine. While I know ME has other quality therapists, when I find someone very good I stick with them, so I have since been back a few times to see her, and based on my experiences have no hesitation recommending her and this ME. read more

I am a person who utilizes facials/massages as a key outlet for stress and relaxation. This is, without question, the least relaxing experience I have ever had at any spa/salon. I felt rushed, the facial lacked the accoutrements I associate with luxury (I think the aesthetician was wiping my face with some kind of disposable tissue versus linen/sponge) and the up-sell at the end truly ruined the experience overall. I showed up at the front to pay my bill to find that they expected (without asking) that I wanted to purchase all of the ingredients that were used in my facial AND purchase a membership for monthly visits. Not the case. I had to stand firm to tell them I was absolutely not interested in this. Poor experience overall. While you might get a cheap intro fee, don't sign up with these guys. You are better served with a reputable spa that cares for you rather than just caring for access to your bank account. read more

Have very mixed feelings about my visit to Massage Envy. This is really combination of different experiences. I was doing introductory massage. Parking: there is a garage nearby but it is really full and some cars there seem to be there for months (not Massage Envy fault, it is retail parking). I parked nearby with no problem at the residential street. So the front desk staff was super nice when i came in. I got massage session from Ally (Allie? spelling?), and she fantastic! Amazing skills and was super happy with the massage sessions itself. At that point i was ready to sign up for membership. Problems started when i was paying. Front desk staff asked me if i am interested in membership and i say yes but i want to take paperwork home, fill it out and drop off. Honestly, after 1 hr massage session you dont want to sit there filling up paperwork. Additionally, i needed to figure our other locations too etc. So long story short, front desk staff looked shocked when i asked about taking paperwork home to fill out. At that point they started pushing to fill it out in the spa right away by asking super direct questions like what exactly the reason you cant fill it out now; if you liked the experience what prevents you from filling it out; They seemed really upset that i did not fill out right away. Finally i told them, I dont want to fill out now. I have to check on few things and will be back. However the entire great experience created by Allie was dissolved in few seconds by all that pressure at the front desk. I still am interested in membership but 1) why it is not allowed to fill out the paperwork at home? Its a form. Didnt make any sense to me 2) customers who are trying it out need to be given space and time to reflect on their experience and not be pressurized into purchase right after they are out of massage sessions just wanting to go home.
