I canceled my membership with Massage Envy in Sherwood in September, but they continued to charge my card anyway. Since then, I have left at least 7 voicemails and sent dozens of emails trying to resolve the issue. I have received no meaningful response, and the charges have continued for months. Recently, they even started emailing me asking for payment, despite the fact that my account was already canceled. At one point, they provided a link to "resolve" the issue, but my browser flagged it as unsafe, which only made the situation more concerning. This has been going on for over 6 months with no accountability and no resolution. At this point, it feels less like a mistake and more like a complete breakdown in customer service and billing practices. I would strongly recommend being very cautious about giving them your payment information. read more

Tried online booking then talked to someone on the phone who rescheduled for the day after our arrival so we could both have appointment together. I do not recommend this place. The corporate office can't do much because they claim each location is independently owned. While the masseuses at this location are all kind and great, the management seems to have gone downhill. I originally transferred there after my home location closed without any notices during the pandemic. It was a lot more further away but I didn't mind going there if the management was excellent. I had so many unused prepaid sessions accumulated since pre-pandemic. This location was so hard to get in as it never seemed to be adequately staffed. Recently they even started a new policy that you are not allowed to book more than 2 sessions per month due to a limited number of masseuses. My original intention to close my membership account failed as all those unused prepaid sessions could not be reimbursed. Meanwhile they continued to charge a monthly membership fee to my credit card so they keep adding to my unused sessions and I could never fully "catch up" using those sessions. I contacted the corporate office and explained my situation - I wanted to close my account after I used up all unused sessions. District manager for OR contacted to resolve this issue. She understood my situation and promised that I would not be charged any more monthly membership fee and I would be free to close my account after I used up my accumulated unused prepaid sessions. However, this location continued to charge me a monthly membership fee for the following 3 months despite her promise to me. In the mean time, my attempts to use up those prepaid sessions continued to fail as the appointments were often cancelled/rescheduled because the masseuses called in sick or left the employment. It was very frustrating. Yesterday I went to a session. Before I left, I asked a receptionist to look up how many more prepaid sessions I had left to schedule. She said 2. But another receptionist easedropping said I had none and she offered me a membership termination form. They both were very polite and professional, but I was so tired of this location's inconsistent management and lack of transparency. So although I was not reimbursed for those 2 sessions, I decided to sign the form and leave this location save my sanity. read more

I was a long time member at Massage Envy. During the pandemic, my store closed down, and never reopened. Corporate claims the owner of the franchise contacted all of its members to transfer their money before it closed. Like so many others, I was never contacted. By the time I found out about the permanent closure, it was too late. I contacted Corporate and they were unwilling to refund, or even transfer my money to other franchise. So, I lost $660 dollars. Beware of Massage Envy scam. They sell themselves as you can use it everywhere. I had more than 15 sessions prepaid and my home location closed, corporate would not give me credits nor the nearby locations claiming they are independently owned. This happened in the middle of the pandemic when all of us were staying home and they took every chance to steal our money. Massage Envy should be banned to do business, if you are not a chain and won't protect your customers, selling yourself as one is a scam. Anybody on the same boat, let's sue together! read more

So many reasons to adore my bf, but one of them is because he convinced me to get a membership here. Perhaps convince isn't the right word as our conversation consisted of: BF: I just got a great massage at this place and got a membership, I'm going to get a massage every month. You might check this place out. Me: If you're getting a monthly massage, I want one too! Signing up was a breeze and I never felt like the salesperson was pressuring me. You start with an introductory massage for $39 and then it is $49 per month for an hour massage that boils down to about 50 minutes actual massage time, 5 minutes pre massage discussion and 5 minutes dress time after. You can add on extras to your massage like aromatherapy or deep heat relief for about $10-$12 more and you can also purchase more massages per month at a discounted rate. The cool thing is you can use your membership at any of their locations and if you miss your massage for that month it rolls over to the next month. Lots of different styles available, deep tissue, Swedish, hot stone, pre-natal, etc. When we book our appointments they even offer us a couples room should we choose to forgo our individual rooms. Haven't tried this yet as I prefer lots of peace and quiet for my massages and my bf is on the chatty side. I've seen several therapists here and they all have their own style but each has done a great job of discussing what areas and pressure I am looking for as well as reviewing my history from previous visits. We come to this location because it is the closest to home but it is also a really good one, so we keep coming back even there are other locations that are just a little farther. This location has a great relaxation room separate from their waiting room with soothing music and water that they will encourage you to drink before and after your appointment. At some other locations I've noticed this relaxation room is merged with the waiting room, it's nice to be away from the phones and the in and out traffic. Definitely recommend getting here early for a few minutes of pre-massage chilling. Nothing less relaxing than flying in late, all crazed and disheveled. Ahem. I also recommend calling well ahead for your appointment as this location seems to stay pretty busy and getting in the day you call rarely works out. I love that they have evening hours so it's easy to come after work. I feel like this is the part of the infomercial where you here, "So what are you waiting for? Sign up today". But seriously, if you or your insurance can pull this off, it's definitely worth it. read more

They do offer products at the end of the session but I never felt pressured to buy anything... which is good. PLEASE READ - SAFETY INFORMATION BELOW Hoping to forget 2020, and a year of serious health struggles and personal setbacks, I recently booked a massage and facial for a relaxing and restorative "spa afternoon" at the Massage Envy Sherwood location. A big mistake. A 60-minute massage was okay-- just barely okay. But the 90-minute facial was extremely disappointing. First, and most importantly, the facialist kept pulling down her mask - leaving her nose exposed. I had to ask her several times to pull up the mask, noting I had compromised immunity. She then launched into a series of very personal medical questions -- as if I had to "prove" my compromised status for her to properly wear her mask. My anxiety must have shown - she repeatedly asked why I was clenching my fists. (To be fair, the facility itself appeared to be very clean and safe. And I wore mask during the massage although it is not required.) Second, in addition to being very tense about my safety, the facial itself disappointed greatly. The facialist merely applied and removed a series of products; no attention was paid to neck or decolletage. The "massage" portion of the 90-minute facial was equally disappointing. Not surprisingly, she repeatedly told me that she had no training in massage. At the end of the facial, she waved a "magic wand" over me--a puzzling act for a professional service. After two very disappointing services, and feeling anxious about exposure to a partially masked person for 90 minutes, my "spa afternoon" took a turn for the worse. When I checked out, the front desk informed me that I could not use my membership hours at the Sherwood location because my original "home" location in California froze memberships during the Covid shut-down. No one could be reached at the closed location, of course, and even supervisors at other locations could not unfreeze the memberships. The Oregon manager told the front desk staff that I had to pay non-membership rates for the two services. I'm currently unemployed, and had intended to us accumulated hours for payment, which I told them. There was no sensitivity to this, and instead I was made to feel like I had created the problem or was trying to cheat the system. After 20 or more minutes of trying to resolve the situation, I finally left cash tips and my credit card information so that they would "allow" me to leave. The manager had apparently told the front desk employee that she could not let me leave without payment first--even though they had my account information, including a credit card on file, and could verify the available credits in my account. I suggested that perhaps she had misunderstood her supervisor, who could not possibly have suggested that I be held hostage due to a glitch in ME's system. The employee did not respond. As I began to leave, I mentioned the facialist's repeated failures to properly wear her mask. The front desk employee told me that she had previously spoken with this particular person "several times." I could not believe that ME continued to schedule appointments with a facialist who has a track record of providing services in an unsafe manner. I finally left, without so much as a sorry, thank you, or acknowledgment of any kind of my years as a ME client. And with no apparent concern for my safety, or others receiving facials at the location. Perhaps it was the mediocre-at-best massage, or the nosy inquisition while receiving an unsafe facial, or the fiasco of trying to check out, or all three, but I left in tears instead of feeling refreshed after a spa afternoon. If only I'd had a real magic want to erase the entire experience from my day and memory. (Yes, I realize that there are more serious problems in the world, and in my own life, right now. I would not have posted a negative review if the services merely disappointed. But the safety concerns still weigh on me almost two weeks later.) A note for other ME members: be careful where you join ME and book services. I have received amazing massages, as well as extremely courteous and outstanding professional customer service, at other ME locations. Sadly, I did not at ME Sherwood that day. read more

This is a super difficult place to get a massage. Their program is a bit scammy to.me. It doesn't matter if you pay for massages (I was payimg $60 a month), if you don't use them in time you don't get to keep them. I believe even if you cancel your membership and you have a massage available, it should be available for longer than 60 days. I paid for that massage so it should be mine to keep. When I made my appointment I knew I was getting close to the expiration of my term, so I made sure to confirme that I had the massage available, the girl said that I did but when I showed up they said I didn't and I would have to pay the full price. They offered to restart my membership for $50, then charge me the membership fee of $60 so. I'd basically be paying $110 for a massage I already paid for. In additoon to that issue, I usually try to call about a week in advance to get an appointment and I can almost never get one. I don't know if it's because they don't have enough therapists or what the problem is but it's very frustrating. Unsolicited advise- skip the chain massage facilities and find yourself an independent therapist who actually takes pride in their work and Customer focus. read more

I signed a contract with this business a few years ago, the massages were okay, not the greatest but they're pretty reasonably priced so I continued the membership feeling that "you get what you pay for" so my expectations were not too high. The customer service was getting worse, so bad in fact that they canceled my massage without a 24 hour notice despite the fact that my therapist had quit much earlier (like a week, thanks for the last minute cancellation). I decided to finally cancel my membership and the manager was incredibly rude, didn't care about their mistake or making customers happy and the CONTRACT is a ripoff and VERY painful to get out of (prepare to walk away from your money, even if you have satisfied the terms/length of your agreement), I am beyond shocked at their scam. With this leadership and shady business practice, it's no wonder they are losing message therapists and ultimately customers. I've been to other massage envys and this one doesn't cut it. Im very sprcific when it comes to massage though because it's therapeutic vs relaxing. Im a dental hygienist so i need this to help pain from my profession. My massage therapist (male- can't remember name) was rough and didn't listen to my requests. He was nice but lacked the skill i needed when i specified i needed someone for therapy. After i brought up the experience at the front they said he only does relaxation. I already paid so was disappointed. My regular lady who was out of town at the time fixed me up a week later luckily. read more

I LOVE This Massage Envy location. I used to go every week before I moved. They are wonderfully courteous, polite and the massage therapist is great. I would go to Susan for every appointment, she is amazing. I've also been to the same location and had Kendall, she is also very good, she has a much firmer hand than Susan, which I like after longer runs, but I would always see Susan if she was available first. Walk-ins are welcome but an appointment is always recommended. read more

I had a glorious and affordable 2 hours massage and signed on the dotted line without hesitation. I was assured that with over 30 therapists I would find the perfect one. I really liked the person I saw, and would gladly see her again, but not until I shop around and make sure there isn't someone even more amazing in that location. We have been getting massages from Massage Envy for over 3 years. Husband and I need to get our massages on the same day and at the same time; scheduling issue for his work. Massage Envy, Sherwood, has been able to accomodate us; even though we had to switch massage therapists a couple of times. We decided to continue with this location as it is closer to our work and home. Also, they continually try to accomodate us and our schedule. The facility is clean, and calming. The front staff is efficient, pleasant, and cheerful to us every time we come in. The knowledge of the therapists is very reassuring. They go over with us each time what we had done before and what we would like to have worked on that session. Yes, we do schedule our sessions out as far as we can; months in fact. But, this also allows us to secure the services of the therapist(s) we prefer. And the front desk is always helpful in scheduling for us. The specials they have are an added bonus; we give each other "gifts" all the time. I had a facial as a "gift" and even though I was not quite sure that was what I wanted, the facial was great. I have also had a "sugar foot scrub massage", again as a "gift". My word, what an experience, my feet were so smooth and felt so good afterwards that I wanted to do this session more often. So, anytime it is offered as a "gift" to session bought, I will accept this as fast as I can whip out my credit card. We have a membership and will continue to use it. Some reviewers don't like the membership component; but we do. We feel it benefits us. We changed locations, to be at Sherwood, and our membership followed us seamlessly. read more

I had a microderm done and found out Lily was reading my text messages while rushing through my service and then I found out she was telling other people in the office about my messages. I'm a long time member (9 years) and they canceled 8 massages on us over the past year, all at the last minute. They charged us $50 to transfer husband's massages to my account when they could not accommodate him for appointments. Mind you - this is not us canceling or not coming in, it's them not being able to keep the appointments. So they're charging us a fee to move those prepaid massages to my account. Do not do business with this place. There are so many spas offering massages and facials etc. Go anywhere else but here. For the last four months we gave them chance after chance to right their wrong, and we stayed members far too long. read more

They wouldn't refund or reactivate membership. No effort to get a hold of manager. Reason for Cancellation: On Wednesday 17th June at 2:30pm I was a happy customer, I had an appointment booked that evening for myself and had my wife attending using one of my extra appointments (I think I have over 4 now). However I then received a call from Massage Envy, apparently I was trying to use one of my extra appointments for my wife against corporate policy and that was not allowed. I had done this before but apparently it can only be done once every 6 months. Even though the booking was accepted and we were 3 hours before the appointment the person calling seemed unwilling to do anything to help. I did not feel was treated fairly or with any respect, I had booked and confirmed this time and explained what I wanted to do. I suggested they discuss internally and call me back but still they parroted corporate policy at me multiple times. I am sure there were way's to allow Massage Envy Managers to keep customers happy as part of your customer retention plan's but this Manager seemed to not care. They seemed happy to have a customer, who has been a member for over 18 months, leave in disgust rather than do anything to help. Being treated like this by any organization is unacceptable. I am not sure if this attitude is corporate wide or it's an inexperienced manager. But a company that makes their money keeping clients happy should have better processes in place for when an error is made. I thus immediately cancelled our appointments and informed the staff I wanted to cease my membership. I would however like to call out Caroline, she is a great masseuse and I was very happy with her. 9/2/2016 - UPDATE! Apparently I wasn't the only one who felt ripped off because due to their class action law suit, I got my massages back!! HOORAY! You still suck massage envy but I'm glad I will at least get to use my massages. SCAM! I have never been so disappointed. I had a 3 month gift card and went in for a massage. At the end of the massage, I was suckered into purchasing a membership, which would equal to a total of 6 massages. At the time I was in the process of moving and didn't know where I would be relocating to. I had explained this to the salesperson so I didn't want to be tide into membership. She assured me I could use these massages anytime. Okay awesome I had a total of six massages I could use whenever! Great! Fast forward 6 months later, I had only used a total of three, when I went to schedule my next massage and was told my membership was expired. I explained I had only used three and still had three more remaining. This is when I was told that I only had six months to use all of those massages, which is the first time I was ever told that. I explained to the gal who answered the phone that I would have never spent the extra 200 dollars on those massages when I had a three month gift card AND I knew I was moving and didn't know if I would be by a massage envy location. I feel completely ripped off and scammed. That is a ton of money to me and I would have never invested in that if I knew I had a time limit. Unfortunately they could do nothing for me to honor those last three massages because the girl who sold them to me was "probably under the impression I would of used the massages by then." I will never return to any massage envy for this reason and I will make sure everyone in my circle does not either. read more

I was a member for a long time, had a massage therapist who is awesome and then Massage Envy raised their membership fee by over 20%. That is a steep increase. I cancelled my membership and got 6 months of reduced membership to use up my accumulated free massages. Another sore point: I paid for these massages with my membership and lost them because I could not use them all up. My MT got sick and I had to travel abroad for a month, no time for these massages. They were suppose to charge me $10/month. Twice I was charged more, once the full price of over $60 and then $20. Then they charged me another $10 while I had to wait to get the $20 back. I wish my therapist Martha the best. She is amazing. But I am done with Massage Envy. read more

I work 40 hours a week on my feet and have the body of a 90-year-old woman, so having a membership here is pretty much a necessity. Before becoming a member here, I would have never thought that getting a 1-2 hour massage once a month could make such a difference. But in the 9 months since coming here, I've noticed significantly less back/neck/shoulder pain, I haven't gotten a cold or the flu and I noticed fewer complications from my carpal tunnel and tendonitis. The staff here are all friendly and are generally professional. I've had a few so-so massages and one flat out bad one, but for the most part I've enjoyed my experiences. My advice is to find a masseuse you like, and then stick with them. read more

I called today with intent to cancel my membership for financial reasons. I'd googled how to cancel and read the reviews and was not looking forward to this experience, but let me tell you! It was easy, friendly, clear, and concise! A super customer service experience! I've been with them just over my year contract so that probably helped. I was informed of an option (as a courtesy) to waive my next two months membership fees while I got caught up on my accrued services. I was also told that, should I need more time financially after that, I could take advantage of an option to pay $20/month to maintain my membership for a max of 6months. I wouldn't accrue massages during that time, but keep my membership active if I anticipated my financial situation would change in that time. I'm super thrilled that it was this easy and I was presented with options that allowed me to keep my membership in a way that worked for me financially. There are "practitioners" and then, once in a great while, you find someone who takes it to the next level - a "healer" if you will. Greg definitely falls into the healer category!! I have never felt better, and I have had a LOT of physical therapy and massage therapy over the years - my most recent (of 3 major) injuries was a spinal fracture about a year and a half ago. Greg has helped me, through the stretch and massage therapy, go from barely limping in the door to running like a gazelle! (okay, not quite, but we're getting there!!) read more

I needed an emergency massage because my neck was really hurting. I called in and they set me up with Patrick. He was great at listening to what I needed and is very good it deep tissue and being sensitive to how to approach The smaller muscles of the neck in such a way that it released them. I felt so much better when I walked out and Patrick was an extremely nice person to work with. I cannot speak for all of the massage therapist here but I can say that Patrick was wonderful to work with both in skill set and personality. I highly recommend him if you are needing a good massage. read more
