I have been with Massage Envy for over fourteen years. My massage therapy sessions with Karen never disappoint!

Booking has consistently been a challenge. In my experience, George does excellent work when he shows up--but he has failed to appear twice. I have to carefully coordinate my schedule and meetings, so a no-show is unacceptable. Today, service was refused by another staff member without any explanation. I had called ahead to inform them that the person getting a massage would be running late, and I was told it would be fine, with the understanding that the massage might be shortened to allow time for completing forms. However, when the masseuse entered the room, they had a noticeably negative attitude about the situation. ME as a whole has been going downhill since the pandemic. Turnover is ridiculous and customer service is hit or miss. I purchased a 3-pack massage gift series ($300) at the Waldorf, MD location on June 30, 2025. I was told the recipient could "just walk in" and redeem the package at any Massage Envy location. That turned out to be completely false. The recipient, who understands how Massage Envy works, attempted to schedule on July 2nd. She was told the next available appointment at Waldorf wasn't until August -- even though online availability showed several openings within a few days. It felt like the staff was purposely making it difficult to redeem the gift. When I confronted them, they suggested trying another location. That second location said the gift could only be used at the original Waldorf store -- again, contradicting what I was told during purchase. I called Waldorf to escalate, but was refused access to a manager and even given a fake corporate phone number. The entire experience was unprofessional, dishonest, and frustrating. The associate who sold me the package appeared to know she'd misled me but offered no help. Unless this is resolved, I would not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I called in the afternoon to see if there had been any cancellations and there was . I was able to come the same evening for service after suffering from back pain and seeing my chiropractor. It was a bit of a delay as the check in just did not let my therapist know that I was ready. I had a wonderful massage with added pressure massage gun and it was delightful. The therapist was very professional and ensured I remained draped during any movements. My only issue is that when I went back online to book again, there was nothing for months. I want to schedule a massage after recovering from surgery and unfortunately I guess I will have to find some other place with consistent therapists. read more

It is impossible to get appointments. Apparently, they only have a handful of massage therapists of those only 50% give a good massage. And apparently, only one that works after 5 pm (business is supposed to be open til 9) Can only assume this is their second or part-time employment. They collect our contract fee regularly , but they have NOT provided the service. The customer service at front desk is non existent. Think there is true management issue at this location, been like this for 3 years now. Staff recommends finding other ME to get massages.....that means you can't support current clients. Do not start a contract at this one. Find one that is more reliable or management invests in more therapists. read more

Either you have to be paying someone on the side, but trying to get a massage there is impossible. Booking online, calling, going directly they NEVER have anything available. For facials & massages, I've been there multiple times and the therapist just doesn't show. They don't call, they were allowed to continue to work there. I've been called 5 minutes before my appointment and told they were a no show. Keep in mind I left work in DC to drive there. Not one of the 1/2 dozen or more times this happened was there an offer of compensation or anything. Today I missed an appointment. My credit was automatically taken, and there was no apology. I have been going to this location for a couple months now and have not had any issues until today. I had two appointments scheduled for today but without my knowledge the first one was canceled. The aesthetician has Covid, understandable. However, what's not is the way Alecia the manager handled it. When I came back for my second appointment she told me I was checked in without even verifying my name. I sat and waited for 25 minutes before I went back out to confirm I was actually checked in. She had left and another lady told me I was never checked in. Half of my appointment I spent half of my appointment sitting and waiting because she lied. I recently went to Massage Envy Waldorf location and had a facial where I had a vitamin C and enzyme treatment and now I have discoloration around the lower part of my face. I will not be going back. Unfortunately I did sign up for the 6 mont h membership that I will be forced to pay for but I do not recommend going here. I've had multiple facials in the past with the same treatments and this has never happened. I am very concerned that this may be permanent on my face. read more

I had a 1.5 hour customized massage by Kimberly. I now spell relief as K-I-M. I had my right knee replaced in Oct. My entire right side (foot to neck) was in pain that seemed to move from place to place daily. I figured it was poor circulation in spite of me doing water aerobics and other exercised daily routinely. My last massage before this was in Jan while on a cruise and the effects were long gone. So I queried my fellow YELPERs and decided on MES. Kim worked most of the knots out of my back, neck, side, feet hands and arms. I say "most" because I was in such a bad place that it would be unreasonable to expect that 1 session would be a cure all. Nevertheless, my session with Kim exceeded my expectations. I have scheduled two more sessions for 1 hour each to follow up the initial 1.5 hour visit. I was determined not to sign up for any type of plan when I went in. However, Kim sold me without saying anything. When I went to the counter to pay up, after the session, I signed up for an annual plan w/o any coercion. I am glad I only had about $30 in my wallet. I left Kim a $25 tip and probably would have left more but did not want to be flat broke. :-) When you are hurting, paying for relief is pure pleasure. OMG, I feel so much better now. GO! I recommend making an appointment. You will feel a lot better after. Money means nothing when all your thoughts are pain filled. The prices are relatively moderate for this type service. The atmosphere is relaxing. The therapist are professional & discreet. The therapy rooms are nice. read more

I called this establishment on 11/20/22, to book an appointment. The receptionist sounded like I was bothering her at home. She was extremely annoyed and not helpful when I inquired about the price of a massage service. I politely asked her to disregard and I will not be booking. I received the massage as a gift and I don't want it. I don't want to re-gift it to someone else, because the initial encounter was terrible. read more

I'm giving the establishment a 3 because Karen my masseuse did her job well , but I felt inclined to give it 1 star due to the abysmal customer service . When I scheduled my appointment I specifically asked for an exfoliating scrub ( mind you I scheduled my appointment Tuesday ) Only for whoever took it down to not even be bothered to make this known . I'm not mad , but I am high key disappointed and won't see myself doing business there again . But like I said the massage therapist did a 5 star job ! The service is good when you can get an appointment. I'm backlogged 10 appointments because I can't get an appointment so I canceled and have 60 days to use them. When I asked for the next available appointment it was 50 days from when I canceled. So I asked to transfer them to a relative and pay the transfer fee but they said I can only do it once. They have my money, won't refund it, and won't let me give them to someone for a fee. Their corporate number which is impossible to find goes into voicemail. Be warned this company is not ethical. Find another company because they are horrible. Check out the better business bureau and read people's reviews before you sign. read more

My name is Karen Emory and My husband and I where members of your Waldorf location. We were members for almost three years but it was very hard to get appointments when we wanted together. ( no fault of the store it was just a busy location and the therapist seem to have a high turnover rate) The result of this was that my husband and I paid monthly but had all these unused sessions. We decided that it wasn't financially smart to keep paying money for what we couldn't use. We canceled but had so many sessions left it would have been impossible to use in the time allotted. It was suggested that we gift some. When I first herd that I thought great idea!! We gifted a lot to friends and family. But now that the gifts have gone out it seems more like I scammed all who were gifted. It was not explained to us that these friends and family would have to leave credit cards and become members just to receive a gift! Two people so far were told from the same Waldorf location that they had to leave a credit card to make an appointment and come a little earlier then the appointment to join. This made me so upset I called the location because I thought this had to be a mistake. How could they ask someone to leave their credit card and become a member to redeem a gift? We paid on time every month for these sessions that were never received so a gift should be just that, a gift . With an option to join if you think it's something you'd like to do. It was explained to my family/ friends that they needed to leave this in case they didn't show up for their appointment. They would charge them so the therapist could get paid. For an already paid for session ? This was an insult to me and anyone I gave this "gift" to! She went on to tell me how the therapist get paid which should not be any of my business how you pay your employees. I pay for my services monthly how you divide that money up is company business not the consumer. The manager of this location tried to use the analogy of a gym membership. Which to me made is worse. If I pay monthly to go to a gym and I miss a class I don't have to pay again ! I'm just out a workout for this class. This whole ordeal is very insulting and I will continue to complain to everyone I know. I thought this was a great company and I wanted friends and family ( who had a little more time) to have the opportunity we had and maybe become a member. But now it all seems like a big scam! I very disappointed! I hope that there can be a resolution to this issue. This facility has so much potential minus the initial customer service at the front desk by Victoria. My facial treatment by Val (Verushica) was phenomenal and I absolutely love her welcoming, peaceful and friendly personality!!!!! The overall establishment is well kept and very soothing but I couldn't get past Victorias borderline rude and unprofessional attitude, though she's pleasant just enough to deal with but that absolutely should not be the case. I wish I could visit a different location with Val being she made my experience at Massage Envy very memorable to the point I agreed to join the membership while I was receiving my facial. Upon signing up for the membership at checkout with Victoria, she quickly erased my peaceful and welcoming experience which I just had with Val only moments ago. Signing up for the membership felt as if I was bothering Victoria with my questions. Her responses were demeaning, rushed and lack all levels of care...it's as as if she expected me to already know the details of the contract she was reviewing with me. Upon leaving and sharing my experience with my coworkers, I was encouraged to cancel the membership the very next day being it's within the 3Day cancellation period. I returned to facility the next day (24 February) and my lack of luck....I encountered Victoria again whom processed the cancellation but was once again insulting with her response to my questions which was a simple request for a print out or an email of the proof of cancellation. She stated their was none but I could come around the desk and see for myself...which of course I did not bother to. She then asked if I had the vouchers she gave to me yesterday...how distasteful..but of course I had the vouchers being I handed her the entire packet initially when asked for the cancellation being I literally was there less than 24hrs ago...everything was still inside the pockets had she just opened it to verify. Once again the facility has lots of potential and the service the therapists provide is phenomenal but the front desk staff can do much better with their customer service. After having difficulty getting weekend appointments multiple times, I ended up making a weekday appointment and leaving work 2 unpaid hours early to be there. Trouble is, the therapist didn't show up and they didn't have anyone else to take over. They kept telling me the person was on their way, but by 25 minutes after my appointment time it was clear I would not be able to have my 90-minute massage and still make it to my next commitment on time. So disappointed. The front desk offered to reschedule, but I don't want to go back there. Update: Management contacted me and gave me a sincere apology and worked with me to resolve this situation. This place is awesome. The staff is friendly and always smiling. Be mindful that with a great place comes planning, what I mean is set up a schedule ahead of time because it's so popular that days and times are usually not open same day if your wondering. This was so so for me! I guess they book up so much that I didn't get my entire hour, now that I don't dig! They definitely do their job at the desk to try and sell you on their membership, but not I, I was strong. One thing I surely wasn't on board with was my therapist looked like he just rolled out of bed and into work, no standard in their clothing for work, lacked a little professionalism to me. I didn't feel like he gave my massage his all, plus he kept sniffling the entire time I couldn't relax thinking "oh God, what if he just uses his arm type wipe his nose" i know, I know, not a great visual!! He kept talking and I don't know about you but I'm not a conversationalist when I'm trying to relax. Overall, I went because the lady does my massages hurt her hand and I was waiting for her to get better, plus it was a birthday gift. I wouldn't get a membership, but if there was a better therapist at another location, I might give it another try. read more

Customer service at this Waldorf location is horrible along with poor management. I had an appointment with one of their amazing message therapists George W and was told one appointment tome. Arrived 15 minutes early and was told my appointment was actually an hour early, leaving me only 30 minutes for my massage. After engaging in how this could have occurred i was told a reminder message was left via voicemail which was a complete lie due to my full voicemail over the past 4 months. I guess text reminders are no longer offered either as i did not received a text. This was the final straw as Ive experience poor customer post COVID. I initiated cancellation of services and was told they did not have any cancellation forms and would email to sign and complete via Docusign which was not accurate. In addition the front desk rep erred with calculating the expiration date to render my unused services which was reflective of 60 days stated in my contract. The carelessness and i don't give a f attitude is unacceptable at an establishment specializing in wellness and health. This location needs a good shakedown from top to bottom. read more

The staff in the receptionist area is professional, polite and very customer service oriented. I use Gulchin, who is awesome. You can tell she is really committed to this profession. I am in the law enforcement profession. So, a great massage is a must as one of my stress relievers. When I first saw Gulchin, I must admit I didn't think I would like her. I had an appointment for 2pm on 5/13. I arrived a little late but they were great. Service from Nicole was exceptional and exemplary! Front desk assistant (can't remember her name) was very courteous and helpful as well! Massage was great. At the conclusion of the session, she let me know where I needed regular help as well. Kind of felt like a visit to the doctor but it was really good. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they told me their regular price for a 60 minute massage is $120 if you do not have a contract with them and their scheduling is very busy. read more

I'm surprised so many people are complaining about the scheduling. I've been a member for over a year now and the front desk is ALWAYS extremely nice, and helpful. You can even be put on a cancellation call list.. or get notified when your preferred therapist's new calendar comes out. When you find a therapist you like, book a few appointments ahead. I received my first facial here and it was GREAT! It was my birthday and someone had given me a gift card. As soon as I arrived I was greeted by the friendly young lady at the front desk. Unfortunately I didn't have an appointment so I had to come back two hours later but I didn't mind. The place is very clean and all the staff is very attentive. The lady (sorry I forgot her name) who performed my facial was excellent! Very knowledgeable about skin care and extremely friendly. I was soooo relaxed during the whole process. OK I get body massages all the time and I love them this was not my first time visiting massage envy and I've never had a problem but the massage envy in Waldorf I was very disappointed in the service I explain to her on three separate occasions that I would like a deep tissue massage I stressed to her on four different occasions that it was cold in the room and she was putting cold lotion on my legs I was very disappointed in the service and then she kept asking me was there a problem with my massage or my technique and I've already explained to you three separate times that you can apply more pressure if felt like my grandbabies were tapping on my legs with some cold lotion didn't have a good experience with them and I don't think I will be back to this location.When I ask her where is the air conditioner on she just gave me a nausea not answer and say I don't know but the Room was freezing like I said I will not be back to this location.Hey thanks KiKi very much for the response but if you guys had a no star that's what she would've got today you wouldn't even received one star that's how disappointed I was in this service today. read more

My experience with Massage Envy in a word, is spotty. My husband bought me a membership, and when I called for my first appointment I expressed my desire for a deep tissue massage. The therapist they assigned me with had such a light touch I could barely feel it. I explained what I wanted, and the poor guy tried but just didn't have the the ability. In fact, I ended the massage early; it was that bad. Once the front desk became aware of my dissatisfaction they offered their apologies, booked me with a different therapist (one of their best, they assured me) and comped an aromatherapy upgrade ( I believe a $12 dollar value). My second massage was AMAZING! He was thorough and definitely deep tissue. I was impressed and decided the first massage was a fluke. I made sure to book my third massage with the same therapist and I was looking forward to receiving the same experience; but in this case, the third time WAS NOT a charm. Same therapist, but he basically "called it in". Although it was not nearly as bad as my first massage, it was definitely not on par with my second massage. I do expect some level of consistency. If I have to complain every time I make an appointment to get consistent service, it's just not worth it. That being said, I also received a facial which was good. I have one last paid appointment, which will be used for a facial. I will take my massages elsewhere. read more

Visited this new location twice. Once in December, 2009, and again in January, 2010. I was seen by Diane, and Najah respectively. Both were very caring. They listen to your needs. Inquire into your lifestyle so they can tailor your massage to your needs/liking. They were both spectacular. This is a brand new location and are not quite busy as of yet. As soon as they catch on they will be up to their ears in customers. They are very conveniently located right behind the old Circuit City in Waldorf, Md. There are plenty of shops and access to routes 301, 5, and 228 are all right there. Book a massage there soon and enjoy the freedom of many appointment options-while supplies last. I saw a room with two tables so I'm sort of sure that they offer a couples massage as well. I'm changing my membership from Potomac Yard, Va to this place as soon as that membership is up for renewal in a few months. It really is all that and then some! read more

Just cancelled my membership of over a year because of one skincare technician's unprofessional behavior & the failure of the management to deal with the unfortunate situation appropriately. I've received wonderful massage treatments every month & although I hate the scheduling hassle have been very pleased with the front desk staff and all of the massage therapists that have worked with me. Unfortunately, the one facial that I scheduled never took place. I arrived on time & waited for the technician for 10 minutes. She came out & was obviously frustrated that no one had asked me to fill out skincare paperwork. I started filling out the paperwork & was equally frustrated because I had very limited time that evening. She offered twice to have me reschedule but I said no because I was leaving for vacation & had no other time available. She then offered to have me move to the quiet room to fill out the paperwork. I again said no because we were now 20 minutes into my time & I just wanted to get the paperwork done. As she turned away from me, I heard her muttering snide comments under her breath. At that point there was no way I would let her touch my skin. I placed the clipboard on the front desk, said I had changed my mind & would have to reschedule & walked out. I was charged for that visit, for a service I did not receive because of Bethany's unprofessional behavior. I did speak to a manager a couple of days later & asked about the procedure to cancel my membership. At no time was I informed that they had charged me for the facial. Went in today for my last scheduled massage & was told there was a $75 balance due because my Feb credit was used for the facial. I paid for the service & have shared my concerns with the corporate office. Overall, it's a pleasant facility & most of the front desk staff are terrific. The massage therapists are very qualified & I have never been disappointed. It's unfortunate that the skincare side & management are not as well trained. read more

Clearly he is wonderful because he is always booked. I am so glad that a Massage Envy Spa opened in Waldorf. Their staff is always courteous and friendly, and I love that they call to remind me of my appointment each month. I've tried several of their massage therapists, but I prefer Michelle above anyone else. read more

I see that there is only one review here so I decided why not. I attended Massage Envy because I had received a gift card as a gift. This was my first massage and only have a 15 minute chair massage to compare it to. I was booked with Christian. Christian was nice and made sure to ask all of the appropriate questions. He made me feel really comfortable. The massage itself was good / ok. I was very relaxed but I felt like there could have been more. The staff was friendly at the desk and they start right on time. At 9:00am everyone who had an appointment was headed for their room. Would I go back to Massage Envy probably, maybe have to try another person though. I would say if you are looking for a quick massage for a cheap price for your first time check it out, or if you are looking for convenience. read more

When booking my appointment I asked the person 3 different ways if they accepted Spa Finder gift cards. I was assured they did and they even took the card number. Once my service was complete guess which gift card they no longer accept? I hate shady businesses who try to get you in the door and then goes "gotcha". Really sucks because Diane was awesome and I was considering a membership to get treated by her regularly. But they blew it. Big time. read more
