I used an online gift card provided to me by some friends who knew of my neck pain. I didn't know what to expect as I don't get many massages. Kimberly (LMT) asked a few clarifying questions and worked for 60minutes on mainly my neck and shoulders at my request. The massage was firm and addressed my deep tissues. They give true 60 minute massages not the "take 10 minutes to change out of your clothes massages." As if that wasn't good enough, their prices are amazing. Your first massage is $45, and their regular massages are $60. They are often running specials and if you see a massage tech, your massage is only $35. FOR AN HOUR MASSAGE. But wait. It's gets better. Why the name "in the bag?" you might wonder....? Because after your massage, the therapist hands you a brown paper bag with a bottle of water and a treat (usually chocolate, always delicious). There are no memberships. No annoying sales pitches. Just good people, giving good massages. They also regularly have gift card sales where you can save money. I was a bit hesitant to try a massage place with which I was not familiar, but after doing a little online sleuthing, the reviews were too good for me not to get some use out of a gift certificate I had. I decided to go in when the knots in my back started creating pain in other areas of my body--explicitly, I had a pinched nerve that was causing severe pain in my tricep that extended to wrap around my wrist and fingers. It was incredibly easy to schedule last minute appointment. I left a voicemail around 8:50 am and received a response only seven minutes later. I was immediately scheduled for an hour-long session that day with Shawna. She was remarkable. She was incredibly attentive to my comfort, asking questions at the beginning of the session in order to get a clearer understanding of my issue that I had described in the new customer paperwork and continuing to do so throughout the hour to understand the experience I was having. Shawna and I had some wonderful conversation--a deviation from my previous experiences with massage where I was expected to lay silent--and she even explained for me the potential causes of my pain, as well as the techniques she was using and their benefits. While my pain wasn't erased after a session, it became manageable and more isolated, and I am confident that had I staid longer, or were I to book another session, I would see even further improvement.
