I've had a Massage Envy membership for over 10 years now and I like that I can use it at any location, at home or while traveling. I have probably frequented this location the most. Also, if the service isn't used within the month, it rolls over until the membership is cancelled. The front desk staff is generally cordial and helpful with scheduling or rescheduling appointments, taking payments and providing receipts (e.g. for FSA or HSA if applicable). Sometimes I do schedule appointments via the online portal. At arrival, check-in is always prompt and easy. Once checked-in, clients can go wait in the serenity lounge for their therapist. The serenity lounge is a quiet area with low lighting to encourage clients to relax as they wait for their service. My usual services are a 60-, 90- or 120-minute massage and/or a 60-minute facial. It is pretty easy to match your pressure preference with the massage therapists, so I am almost always happy with the services received. The only down-side that you may not be able to have consistency - the therapists may change locations or practices then you'll have to be paired with someone different. One final note is that they now use a service called Tippy to collect any tips for the therapist, however, there is a surcharge to use this service. I am a member, I've been coming here for about a year now. I have rotated through several therapists, and I love all of them! I think it's fun to explore new therapist a different point in time and always nice to go back to some of the ones that you know what works well. For the past several years the rate of my appts being cancelled has become unacceptable. I understand that people get sick and have emergencies but a pattern has developed and in order to use up my credits from my membership they will put my full monthly fees on hold but still charge $10/month while I catch up. If I cancel the same day I still have to pay a cancellation fee. If they cancel me it's my problem. There was a time when they were reliable which made the price for an average and sometimes good massage reasonable but no longer. I would not recommend this location. We've been to this location several times both before moving away and after coming back. The front desk staff are really good about fitting us into massages during the same times and within a couple days at most. Our scrolls are really hectic so booking in advance if difficult for us. They are very flexible here and don't mind last minute bookings. Due to our mixed scheduling times we normally get varying masseuses but they're all good! This was my first experience at Massage Envy and this visit did not make a great impression. As soon as I walk into this location there is a man by the counter eating and then rushes off like he was not supposed to be there, The woman behind the counter was on her phone and she wasn't very welcoming. She gave me some paperwork to fill out and when I get back up to hand her the tablet, I'm struggling to get her attention away from her phone. I was then sent to the "tranquility room" where you could hear the estheticians laughing so loud in the back and talking about guests. Being a cosmetologist, there is absolutely no way I would treat my guests like this. How am I supposed to undress and be comfortable with them if 10 minutes ago I hear them laughing about another guest?! Moving on to the massage - I came in 20 minutes before my appointment and didn't start until 10 minutes after our scheduled time. I understand things happen and people run behind, but if I am paying for a 50 minute massage, I would really like to receive a 50 minute massage. Just to top it all off, I walk back out to the lobby, just to hear another guest complaining about her experience. I guess I wasn't the only one not impressed... Once I made it to the register, the two associates behind the counter whisper to each other about a guest sitting up front because apparently she was taking too long filling out the forms. I got wheeled in for a 6 mo. Membership again and they booked my appointments for the next 2 mo. Years ago I had a membership with the Oviedo office and it got run down with bad management and high turn over of massage therapists. I had used Winter Park more than Oviedo and had been happier there. So when I decided to join I went to WP. Come to find out Oviedo closed and some of the problems relocated to WP. It was very difficult getting an appointment on the dates I wanted so I booked several when I signed up. Excited I Got ready to go for my 1 st massage appointment w Nate. Only to find out Emily canceled it days before with out calling me and for no reason. They sent an email and nothing more. I registered for text messaging. They said they don't know why my appointment was canceled. Nate is working and is taking another customer that was booked after they cancelled my appointment. I feel they should apologize to the other appointment for the booking error and I should get the appointment since I was the first to book. It is so stressful to than talk to the manager Shannon only to get an attitude she doesn't care. She couldn't make a decision to apologize and offer me a complimentary massage. She refused correcting the situation and explaining to the later appt what happened. Clearly they don't have the capacity to handle the memberships they are selling. Seeking to cancel they breached the agreement when they wrongfully canceled my appointment and refused to correct. My schedule is extremely packed and I rely on appointments . If the employee was sick it would be different. Even then I hope they would try to have another therapist covering the schedule. Less than 2 weeks and they already failed. read more

My wonderful friend has a membership with massage envy and transferred one of her monthly services to me as part of my Christmas gift. She said this part was easy, she just called it in, gave them my number and they added me in the system. My side of the transaction was just as easy, I called in for an appointment and gave them just my information and was all set. I got an appointment for the day after I called with no problem. They asked me to come in fifteen minutes early for intake, so I did the next morning. The staff at the front office was super friendly and helpful, they sat with me and wen through my areas of focus. Shortly after, they accompanied to the waiting room inside, which is dark and calming before you're called into your room My therapist was, again, helpful and mindful and made sure to pay attention to my needs for the visit. They really do a full 50-minutes and let you take your time undressing and dressing. The checkout process was just as easy and painless. Overall a great experience at this location! read more

Other than the high prices, I like this chain. I ONLY have gotten massages here when they run specials, otherwise the prices are outrageous! $80 for an hour massage?! No thank you. For that price I could get my hair AND nails done! Prices are competitive these days, especially with Groupon and Living Social constantly running massage deals. So I am not sure how they are in business lol. When I have gotten massages they've been great. Not amazing but they've definitely gotten some serious knots worked out. The lobby is cute, but I'm a bit confused at to why they sell skin care products... Do they have aestheticians providing services as well? Hmm... I was given a gift card for $60 to Massage Envy last Christmas. A 60 minute massage costs $110 so I wouldn't have even considered it without the gift card but figured I'd give it a shot. I've now booked a massage online TWICE at this location only to arrive and be told that my appointment had been cancelled. Not right away though, after 15 minutes of trying to figure out what happened, they eventually figure out that the therapist I had booked had called in "sick" and that they had left a voicemail about the cancellation. But I didn't get any voicemails either time. No voicemail, email, text message, nothing. Same exact issue TWICE, months apart. The only help they offer is to re-book your appointment on another day. After reading other reviews online it appears that it is a common practice to reschedule and cancel without much notice, if any. There are plenty of reasonably priced massage services around and always tons of deals on Groupon. Don't waste your money at Massage Envy when you can get the same thing for half the price elsewhere (with better service). I'll be giving away my gift card this Christmas. Hopefully someone will have better luck than I did. read more

Wow, I have no idea why this place gets bad reviews! I went to this location once every two weeks, for a solid five years. While the front desk staff changes on a pretty regular basis, everyone has always been super nice, recognized me upon entering, and called me by name. The manager is super sweet, and always complimentary. I went to a massage therapist Leslie C. almost to the very end of my time in Orlando and she is absolutely amazing, if you prefer a firm pressure! I switched to Jen A. toward the end mainly because of Leslie's schedule. Unfortunately, she is in such high demand that if you have to cancel and reschedule, you are not getting in again for another two months. She is booked out at least two months. That is how I ended up discovering Jen A. Jen A. is equally amazing! Do not let her tiny size fool you, she goes deep! She seems to enjoy working out all the knots! It is easier to book and reschedule if needed with Jen A., although I anticipate her schedule is likely to be as booked as Leslie's in time. Both Leslie C. and Jen A. are absolutely fabulous! I highly recommend them, and this location in general. The location is in a strip mall with a large parking lot, so parking is usually never an issue. I never had a bad experience here in five years! A solid Massage Envy location. People go back and forth about whether or not a Massage Envy membership is worth it. While it is a little pricey, I believe that racking up massages to use for those weeks when you need to get a kink out of your back makes it all worth it. Plus, the massages make for great gifts. Putting thoughts about the franchise aside, this particular Massage Envy, which is located in Winter Park in the Whole Foods plaza, is a solid location. Like all of their other locations, this spot is rather clean, the waiting area is rather relaxing, and the massage rooms are rather comfy. The sessions are always hard to book the day of, but it is possible if you call early enough in the day. What I like about this location in particular is the male masseuses. I often need deep tissue massages, but many masseuses don't understand how to apply the proper amount of pressure. The guys at Massage Envy always provide excellent massages with the proper amount of pressure that isn't so deep that it defeats the purpose, but deep enough to get the job done. While these masseuses, like at other Massage Envy locations, have to watch the clock, I consistently get 50-52 minutes of massage time with a balanced amount of time spent in each region. The masseuses also always give me good recommendations for post-massage treatment, and they aren't pushy about coming back in a hurry to make more money. The fact that these guys seem concerned more about health and doing things right instead of cutting corners and making money makes this one of the better Massage Envy locations. Overall, Winter Park's Massage Envy is one of the better massage spots in Orlando. Whether you are in agony from a back kink or just looking for some pampering, this location is a good place to go to refresh your body and your mind. read more

Several years ago when I was a member of Massage Envy, I showed up for my appointment only to be told that my appointment had been rescheduled. But I hadn't rescheduled it. "We called you," they said. "Did you leave a message?". They said yes. I opened up the call history on my phone-- no call from Massage Envy. I showed them. I said "You did not call me." They said,"We called your home phone." I said, "You did? And you were able to leave a message?". They said yes. I said that's curious, because we moved a couple of months before, and we didn't have that phone number anymore. They said, "Well, we called you. It's on you. " I asked them which number they called, and as they read it aloud to me (correct number for the old house), I dialed it on my mobile phone, on speaker. "The number you have dialed is out of service..." And it had been out of service since before my last massage at Massage Envy. By this time, the manager had come up to join her employees on the other side of the counter from me, bullying and antagonizing me to the hilt. Every time I said, "I just want you to acknowledge that no one let me know that you changed my appointment," she kept insisting that they did. How could she have known for sure? She couldn't have, but that didn't stop her. She snarled at me, "LOOK, you are NOT going to talk yourself into getting a massage today!" Really? I said, "I don't want a massage today, because you have upset me so much that there's no possible way I could enjoy it. I just want you to admit that no one let me know you changed my appointment." So what did she do? She revoked my membership, and told me I was no longer welcome there. Blame the victim, and punish the victim for standing up for herself. Nice job. Nice way to treat your customers. So, no, I don't recommend Massage Envy, which is different from not recommending their massage therapists, who have nothing to do with the mismanagement of the business. read more

I'm starting to think Massage Envy only hires brand new therapists. I had a membership at this location and went a few times for an hour Swedish massage and each time was a let down. I had different therapists each time and the massage was just painful and mostly unpleasant. It's like they use the tips of their fingers to press down as hard as they can but it's not necessarily on muscle groups. Each time I was aching the next day. I think the therapists should take a physiology and anatomy class to learn about where muscles are and how to touch them. I would like to add that I've had many massages in my life so I know what a good massage is and it's not me having sensitive skin or not communicating the amount of firmness I want. I broke my neck and back in a helicopter accident while serving in the military. The military doctors told me I would always have pain in my neck and that the best way to treat it would be "pain management", this often means pills. I decided I did not want to take a bunch of pills for the rest of my life so a friend recommended I get massage treatments. I always looked at massage as a luxury and something to just make you feel good, not necessarily better. Reluctantly, however, I went in on a particularly bad day of pain in my neck. My range of motion left and right was very limited, as was my up and down range. After the first session I sensed I could move farther, but was still skeptical. After the second session of deep tissue massage, I was definitely in less pain and my range of motion improved greatly. After three months of massages (twice a month), I was fixed! My range of motion improved to normal and I no longer have a constant pain in my neck and right shoulder. I've been coming in for maintenance ever since. I am thankful to Kenny, my first therapist at massage envy for getting me where I need to be, and to the many therapists since him who have kept me where I need to be. read more

I joined this place hoping to be able to receive monthly massages like advertised. Unfortunately every time I called to book an appointment i would get their voicemail. I would leave a message and no one ever returned my calls. Now I have a bunch of massages banked up to use but went it to cancel my contract. Instead of receiving stress free service I was given quite a big headache. There are too many wonderful spas and LMT to spend your money on. Poor service. I jumped on the Massage Envy bandwagon last month after my back started acting like it belonged to a 75 year old. Last night was my first visit to the Winter Park location and I'm a little disappointed. The experience started off well. I arrived really early, filled out the paperwork and was ushered back the the "Tranquility Room" quickly. Then, I waited... and waited... and waited until 10 minutes past my appointment time. I finally got up to see what the hold up was. Apparently, the front desk didn't communicate with the therapist that I was, in fact, present for my appointment. An apology was offered by the therapist, Brian, so I went with it. The massage with very good. Brian regularly asked if I was comfortable and focused on the places I told him to. When I was done, I got up and was disappointed to see that the clock read 8:54. So that means I paid for an hour massage and got about 40 minutes worth. I understand the logic behind that if I was the one that was late, but I do think an extra 10 minutes of massage was in order in this situation. I'm going to return to this location because it's close to my apartment and the massage was good quality, but I'm hoping that they clean up their customer service. Ignore any and all negative reviews about this location. Massage Envy's reputation really depends on the customer service and quality of therapists they hire. The idea is great $39.95 a month for 1 massage. If you don't go for awhile- those months rollover and you can use them for 2 hour massages, facials (not all locations offer facials, but this Massage Envy does!) Even if you go over it is just $10 more...seriously $39-49 for a 60 minute massage is a helluva deal. ;) The therapists at this location are excellent with many years of experience. I love the option of trying many at a location your comfortable with and then finalizing the one you want to continue using. This is a great location. The reception gives great friendly service. The inside lounge has a lovely atmosphere with low lighting and running water. It is worth the trip. I tend to prefer firm and deep muscle to get my knots. I highly recommend Austin. He does great therapeutic and deep tissue. Added bonus if you go with the muscle relief add on. If you want a decent massage at an affordable price, this is the place to go. Upon my first visit, I was expecting a no frills, typical strip center experience but was pleasantly surprised. The build-out here is great, the massage rooms are acoustically solid - no hearing other people's conversations while you are trying to relax. I recently completed my third visit and have found a therapist that I like, Joy. She was very accommodating as I was 15 minutes late and pretty stressed about that fact. Five minutes on the table and all was forgotten, I was relaxed and plotting out my trip to Whole Foods. I've had three types of massages there, sports,relaxation and deep tissue. The sports massage was a bit eh, but relaxation and deep tissue get a solid 4 stars! I hear they are adding skincare services soon and will offer different types of facials - can't wait! read more

Not the best massage envy I have been to, I asked my therapist "Liz" to do deeper pressure 3-4 times, then her answer was "let me have the muscles talk to me" This was NOT a deep tissue massage. First I would like to say that Liz was great! But other than that the whole experience was lacking to say the least. I was very excited about having my first ever massage and being given it for my birthday! Sadly the experience I had after my massage total contradicted having the massage. Upon trying to leave my tip and close out my appointment, the man upfront was trying to sell me the monthly package. His selling tactics were WAY too aggressive to the point that I felt judged because I could not afford $60 a month for an hour massage. Telling me that it is for my health and that doctors would recommend it, that me not really being able to afford it was not a good enough reason for not signing up... etc... Whatever you are teaching your front desk employees needs to be changed, I walked out of the building feeling more upset and stressed then when I walked in... which is the complete opposite of what was supposed to happen!
