Does not honor purchased massage packages. After telling me that they could see 3 prepaid massages in their system and that I could come in for a massage at their location, made me pay for it after the massage was completed. The assistant manager claimed that because it was bought at a different franchise that they couldn't access it. If that was the case, why was I told that I could come in to this location? It felt like a crooked move and I would highly recommend to anyone go to hand & stone over massage envy if this is the games that they're going to play. read more

I was lured here by the tempting billboards, advertising $39* massages (note the asterisk). My first visit, I was explained that it is $49 for first time customers, but if I signed up as a member, it would be $39, then $59/month for a year. This was right after I received my massage, so I was out of it. They baited me and when I got home, I wondered if I made the right choice. I was reminded every month of my member services, which they worked with my schedule. They are open until 10 PM! A couple times I had to modify my appointment and they worked with me. After my contract ended, I wanted to cancel, but I suffer from migraines and the massages really relieve them. Last night I finally asked how to cancel. The associate did not try to force me to stay which I thought she would do. I explained that I was trying to cut expenses from my budget and asked what if I wanted to be a member again. She said I would have to pay an enrollment fee. She offered to just freeze my membership for 6 months, then it would continue like normal. For the first few months I was looking for the perfect therapist. I finally found Holly and Victor. They are the best if you like deep pressure. Michelle is a great esthetician if you like extractions. She really gets them out! Lauren is good if you just want a relaxing, gentle facial. I wish it was a little more affordable. On top of the monthly membership, I like to tip my therapists for their awesome sessions and it adds up. read more

Made the horrible mistake of purchasing a gift card here for Valentine's Day, as a present and they have already canceled my appointment twice. They got me in with the advertisement of one price that was followed by several up-charges. All the staff is very snarky and sarcastic. Had an appointment today and they wanted me to put a mask on my face to wait in the waiting area. I told them I'd wait outside. The lady came out to tell me that they would require me to wear a mask to walk to the room but once I was in there I could take it off. Now how does that make any sense? They tried telling me it was a private business and blah blah. I will be reaching out to a lawyer and spreading this info to social media as this discriminates against people who can't wear a mask. They also tried asking me my vaccination status. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

It is VERY difficult to book a massage here. I only get massages with female therapist and it is nearly impossible to book a massage with a female therapist. I had Athena for a prenatal massage. This was my first professional massage, and it was amazing. They provided comfy pillows to lay on my side, and they elevated the bed so I could lay on my back with a pillow under my knees. I pretty much had everything done. Back, legs, arms, face, scalp. It was all so relaxing, and extremely needed. I think after baby is born, I'll go back for an hour and a half massage instead of an hour. Everything felt good. Company stole from me. I paid for massages. I'm an active member in good standing and have been for nearly 8 years. Paid their fee to transfer massages to another person. They mysteriously lost them when they changed systems. They claim there's no record of the transfer, yet can't explain the previously massages being paid by that person by credits. This is completely unacceptable and corporate supposedly is aware of what happened and has left no remedy. I am disgusted. read more

I came in with the intention to relax and sign up for a monthly subscription. The receptionist accommodated my 80 minute massage so I was happy but this was probably the worst massage I ever received. The press was too much. I new mid way that the massage was being done by someone that is used to doing deep tissue. I really almost requested for her to stop mid way. I was not relaxed at all and it was a waste of money. When I came out I did express my disappointment although the receptionists apologized there was still no offer given to me as an unhappy customer. That was also disappointing. Knowing I'd love one but would never book myself a massage, my wife bought me a one hour session for our anniversary. I was using the gps on my iphone to find the place, and when I was about 10 mins away it unexpectedly died. I was suddenly driving blind, and as anyone with an iphone knows, it takes a few minutes for your phone to turn back on once plugged in. Evidently, when using a cheap off-brand car charger, it can take as long as 11 minutes. Apparently, my phone had died right before I was supposed to make a turn, and rather than pulling over until my phone came back on, I had stupidly kept driving, so by the time it was back on I was a good 10 minutes out of the way. I got to my appointment right on time, however this left me with no time to do the pre-appointment paperwork, so by the time I was actually on the table and my masseuse's hands were first touching my back, I was 15 minutes into my allotted time. Losing a quarter of your massage sucks in and of itself, but thinking of the wasted money hit me in the gut as well. However, my masseuse was nice enough to go 15 minutes over. I didn't even realize that she did this until I was redressing and glanced at the clock. When I walked out of the room I thanked her, and she said that since there was no one coming in after me, she hadn't seen a problem with allowing me my full time. This was extremely good customer service, as she did not have to do that. It was much appreciated. I greatly recommend this place. read more

Sweet relief! I have fibromyalgia. If and when I am able to travel, it really takes a toll on my body. After walking airports and riding in airplanes & automobiles, I find my energy depleted and my muscles rigid and painful. (Heck, travel is not easy on the healthiest of bodies.) I was in pretty bad shape when we arrived in Orlando/Oviedo (from Chicago) and was afraid if I could not find relief that I would, at worst, ruin the trip for everyone or, at best, not be able to participate in anything. I had to find help. Not being familiar with chiropractors or integrated medicine facilities in the area (where massage therapists are often found) I decided to take my chances with the Massage Envy chain since there was a location nearby. I was not expecting much. I explained my situation to the receptionist over the phone who recommended Virginia and scheduled me for early the following morning. Virginia was just what the doctor ordered! She was familiar with fibromyalgia and knew exactly how to address my concerns. She spent a lot of time stretching my tightly contracted and knotted muscles before beginning deep tissue massage. She was a woman on a mission and routed out every knot she could find. I was spent afterwards -- an effective massage will often do that to me -- but by late afternoon I felt better than I had in days! I was able to go out to eat with my family and even go for a walk. Virginia saved our weekend! I could not recommend her more highly. I give four stars instead of five, not for Virginia, but for Massage Envy. It's membership sales driven rather than care driven. Received a prenatal massage yesterday for my first time, I've had dozens of regular massages before but never prenatal. The girl (her name started with an S but I don't want to call her out) seemed to be very inexperienced and that there was no general direction for the massage. I'm not sure if it was her first prenatal or she wasn't comfortable with massaging me on my side but it honestly felt like a slightly strong back rub. I told her I work long hours on my feet, my lower back was starting to pinch now that I'm 20 weeks and that I wanted more pressure when she asked if I needed lighter pressure and still it was not up to par. I'm sure they have good massage therapists here, however, mine was not. I'm thankful that it was a gift card and I did not have to pay for it. read more

Her strength was perfect for me. This massage envy is kept very clean. I also like the fact that it is very quiet inside. So I bought my girlfriend a massage gift card for Mother's Day online. They were supposed to send her an email on Mother's Day with the gift card included. I got the confirmation that they sent the gift card, but she never received the email. So after many phone calls I was told the gift card number and I thought everything was taken care of. My girlfriend set up her massage at the Oveido location, told him she was using the gift card and got the massage done. After the massage is over informed her that they needed the original email (which we never received) and could not use just a gift card number. So my girlfriend had to pay for her Mother's Day gift out of her own pocket because the unhelpful manager Lindsay wouldn't even let me give her my credit card number over the phone to deal with the mess they created. They told us that we had to deal with it through email. I sent an email to massage envy over a week ago and have yet to hear a response. BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDS FROM MASSAGE ENVY, unless you enjoy paying for things twice, making endless phone calls and sending many emails, only to be ignored. read more

My husband and I come here twice per year on vacation and we are always welcomed with excellent front desk service and smiles and we have never been disappointed with our massage therapists. They listen to our needs an ensure we always feel amazing when we leave. We usually get at least 4 massages each and even with different therapists we are always happy. read more

I have been a Massage Envy member for 4-5 years. Unfortunately it's hit or miss depending on the therapist I get. I must have very deep tissue/muscle work or I do not get pain or stress relief and then I just waste my time and money. When making my appointments I always ask the receptionist who does good deep tissue work and they for the most part set me up with decent therapists. Sometimes I have to change to a new therapist so I can find one that meets my needs and actually listens to what I say. The only downside is that person is either always booked out by 2-3 weeks, or they stop working after 5-6 months. It seems like I can never get anyone to stick around long enough that I actually like...then I'm tasked with finding another therapist that is a good match for me. I would be willing to give this review another star once I make my first appointment this new year. It's been about 4-5 months since I've been to this location. Hopefully the masseuse I have very much enjoyed (Margie) is still working when I make my next appointment. I do have to say the location is very convenient and less crowded compared to Waterford Lakes. It's a very clean establishment and the staff is always pleasant. Parking sometimes is a bit tricky due to the location being in a strip mall, but it's doable. Another thing I would request and suggest to all Massage Envy's or massage businesses in general is taking the time for the therapists to use a hot moist towel on the massaged areas at the end of the massage to help take away the greasy feeling; or at least provide a hot towel so you can wipe yourself off. read more

I have had the monthly subscription for over a year now and have gone through 3 regular massage therapists. One after another keeps leaving for various reasons, so that is a little frustrating. The girls I have booked on multiple occasions have been great. There's really only been 2 ladies that I didn't find my massage relaxing or enjoyable. I was frustrated the first time I booked a facial and they didn't ask me until I got there if I had used Retinol in the past week, which I had, so I had to reschedule my appointment. Same thing for when I found out I was pregnant. They have to be specially certified for prenatal massage, so when I first found I was pregnant I had to work around the schedule of the only girl who was certified. She has since left, so I don't know how many they have for prenatal now. You also need a note from your doctor that you are cleared for massage if you are pregnant. read more

Was convinced after my first massage to spend another about $80 for a three massage/ three month package - used two of the massages, and called a week after the three months expired and can't use the last one. No credit to an account, nothing. Just out the additional $. No email or courtesy call stating that I'd lose the massage. Nothing. At the end of the day, it's my fault, but they shouldn't be selling something that expensive that is use it or lose it. I won't set foot in another ME ever again. I have to say that I am incredibly frustrated with this specific location. Both my husband and I have been to Massage Envy previously and have always had a nice experience. However, neither one of us will be returning. I purchased a gift card for my husband for Father's Day. When asked if my husband had been there before, I said, "Yes" and gave the receptionist his name. Since it had been over a year since my husband had received a massage, they gave me the introductory rate. My husband scheduled his massage and received a reminder call 24 hours ahead of time asking him to come in 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork since it had been some time since his last visit. He showed up 15 minutes early to find the spa hadn't even opened yet and all the massage therapists waiting outside. The woman who was supposed to open the store arrived late and apologized to the therapists, but not the customer who was also waiting. On the plus side, my husband had a great massage, but even after arriving early, was called in late to the room. After his massage, the receptionist asked him to pay $80 for the session. He should not have paid anything. My husband questioned me about the price and I assured him he should not have had to pay anything and explained what I was told upon purchasing the gift card. When my husband went back inside the establishment he explained what I had said and the receptionists told him that he's been with them before and the prices are on a "Case by case basis." Which apparently means they can tell one person one thing and change their mind when it really comes down to it. They eventually apologized and refunded him his money giving him the rate that I was told he should receive regardless. If I could give this location zero stars, I would. I recieved a gift card for Christmas and after reading many reviews of Massage Envy I was hesitant about using it. Not because of the massage quality but because some said they pressured you to sign a long term membership or as Kim R. (who obviously wasn't paying attention, but I'll get to that) says they switch the price on you. I am not afraid to say no to an offer of a contract but wasn't sure it was worth the hassle. I decided to use it and booked a 11/2 hour massage. I prepared myself for the high pressure techniques and was instead greeted by two lovely young ladies that simply asked me to fill out some health forms. I had a great massage though I did notice I was cut four minutes short of my 90 minutes ( the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) As I left the young lady I paid at the front desk told me about the membership and asked if it was something I would be interested in. I said "no, thank you." She completed the transaction, which took all of about 30 seconds from start to finish and I was gone. She clearly and correctly stated the price was $59.99 a month and additional massages were $40 but not only that, there are pricing posters hanging for anyone to look at. Judging by my own personal experience, people who say they are being duped are either too weak to say no or just don't pay attention. As a business owner I don't fault a business for trying to sell me something. They're trying to make money, duh, it's a business! I will go here for a massage in the future simply because the massage was great and the service was nice and professional. read more
