Being new to cupping, I had no idea what to expect and, wow, it was better than I anticipated. Amanda took her time to talk with me when I arrived to get to know me and explain the cupping process. She spent the beginning of the appointment doing a deep tissue massage, focusing on my areas of tension. This included some stretching, which felt amazing. She was very knowledgeable, commenting on reasons for tension/knots in certain areas and even knowing from massaging my neck that I clench my teeth! At the end of the massage came the cupping. Amanda used stationary cups (the traditional ones that stay in place with suction) as well as cups that she moved around, describing it as almost a "reverse massage." This was a "hurts but feels good" situation for me. I really enjoyed it, and felt like the tension in my neck and shoulders was finally relieved. Amanda suggested an epsom salt bath and rest as cupping is intended to detox the body. I took her suggestions and felt so relaxed. The cupping did leave marks but they went away in about a week. I would absolutely go back for a massage and cupping!

I had a 60 minute Swedish Massage with Elle at Body of Needs Spa yesterday and have finally found my new MT and Spa home!! The experience begins with being welcomed by their delightful receptionist who offered me water and had me fill out their very detailed intake form that asks everything from specific areas of focus, lotion or oil preference, amount of pressure and all the things your MT needs to tailor your massage. Elle came out to get me and brought me in to a very tranquil treatment room. There is a whiteboard on the wall and Elle used it to note where I wanted her to focus, any thing that was important to me for my massage and then she stepped out so that I could undress. As she started the massage, the pressure was a little lighter than I wanted so I told her and she immediately adjusted. She really worked on my problem areas and gave a great full body massage!! I'm a little sore today, but in the best possible way!! I immediately scheduled my next appointment with Elle as soon as I got in the car; a 90 minute this time,. There are several private service rooms. I had a 90 minute deep tissue with Mackenzie. She was excellent at determining where I needed attention and how much pressure. The room was relaxing with the proper lighting and music. The table was heared. Prices were reasonable. I am happily sore and feel much better! I will absolutely be back to see Mackenzie again!!! Next was experience shower - i selected relax, it was mostly warm and very refreshing after that a 12 min dip into the hot tub. Following that was the ice fountain - you think putting ice on your body would be odd but coming out from the hot tub it felt amazing. We then headed to the steam room followed by a cold plunge (we only lasted a minute!!) and ended in the salt tepidarium. Staff was very helpful and at times would pop in with a wet cold towel (always at the perfect time) and while in the salt tepidarium surprised us with a healthy juice shot. Love an experience and this one was truly great! They provide a watch so you can keep track of your time and the stations! As well as sandals that can go into all the areas - even the pools!
