I highly recommend the massage therapists at MH Folsom. They offer excellent deep tissue massages and are sensitive to and purposeful in their approach to special needs. I've been worked on by several, Dawn, Stephanie and Amanda and the departed Audrey and Cassandra. Jackie is outstanding, as she consistently knows how much pressure to apply to work out knots and sooth tired and stiff muscles. I always look forward to the monthly sessions, and wish I could go weekly. These therapists are polite and during sessions, not talkative so I can relax under the spell of their good music selections. Keep up the great work. Let me be clear: the massage and facial I received were wonderful - I have no complaints about the therapists - I received a gift card from my daughter for a 90 massage and 1 hr facial. All was fine until the sessions were over and the discussion about "product" and membership ensued. Yes, I know that the products are overpriced - problem is, I was interested in one of them and wanted to know the price. The woman behind the computer said she had to "check" the price in the computer - and instead of checking and being straight forward about the price, she did the hard sell others have complained about - trying to get me to "join." Not interested. I ended up asking THREE times what the price of the product was so I could get out of there - finally she told me it was $40.00. Ok - a bit high, but I'll try it - see if I like it - so I agreed to the purchase, gave her my credit card, signed the tiny receipt (my bad - did not have my glasses with me - but I "trusted" that she was truthful about the price). When I got home, had a total price of almost $48.00 (no receipt - just credit card charge receipt with no breakdown of product price and tax). Hmmmmm I know the tax rate is not that high. The more I thought about the whole situation, the more angry I became. Yes, I should have realized when I had to ask so many times that I was being "played" and should have just walked out of there, but didn't want to hurt my daughter's feelings or her relationship with the salon. I called the next day and spoke to a young guy - the woman I dealt with the night before was not there, would be in later, and he would give her my complaint and info and have her call me back - this after he informed me that they would not accept a return (the seal has still not been broken on this product and it is in the original box). I told him that I wanted either a refund of the $4+ overcharge or I would return the item. He said the price was $44.00. Is it? I don't know. They don't price their items and I'm wondering now if they just make up the prices as they go - if they think you'll pay it...... hhhmmmmm. Needless to say, I did not get a call back. Thus, this review. Since my issue was not the $4+ I was charged over what I was quoted - but my disgust with their customer no service......I will pay for this product and try to warn others - BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

I so look forward to my monthly massage and often extend it by a half hour or find myself coming back sooner! The experience starts when i walk in the door and am greeted warmly. My cares begin to wash away. They are completely gone within minutes under the hands of Dawn. She is without a doubt one of the best massage therapists I have ever had. First, the facility is nice, clean and inviting. Downhill after that, however. They asked me three times (first on the phone, then twice once in the facility) which problem areas I would like to address. I also put it in writing that I only wanted feet, hands, head, legs & neck. (No back massage because it hurts my boobs to lay on top of them as they press down on my back.) What did I get? 46 minutes of back massage, about one minutes on each hand and foot, and no head or neck manipultion at all. The facial part of the package was done by Ashlee. Less talk and more facial would be preferred. It was okay, but no magnifying glass, extractions, etc. like I normally get with a facial. Just cleaner, exfoliant, hot towels and sunscreen. She was very pleasant but I felt I could do that at home, like I always do. Upon leaving, I voiced my concern about the massage not hitting the areas I requested and they tried to get me to sign up for a monthly massage with ANOTHER masseuse who would do what I requested. I passed. And one more thing, the address listed (230 Palladio Pky.) is not where they are located. We searched high and lo, and finally found them on a side street with an address something like 1220 Via Something. I would never go to this place again. All they care about is finding different ways to part you from your money while delivering as little as possible in return. I signed up for a monthly massage program, where they billed my credit card monthly for a reduced rate per massage. I only got two massages at the end of six months, and realized that was just too busy to get a massage monthly. So, I called the store and disenrolled from the monthly payment program after I had paid for the agreed six month period. The person who answered the phone gladly disenrolled me but neglected to tell me that if I disenrolled I would lose all my credits that I had built up to date. When I realized that I had no remaining credits (despite paying for six 1.5 hour massages) I asked to talk to the manager. He was very curt with me and his main thrust was that *you should read the fine print more carefully..." He refused to refund my lost credits. I think it's reprehensible that they don't warn you that they are going to rip you off of all the money that you paid in good faith to have massages there. DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place is the WORST!!! I paid for 90 minute DEEP TISSUE massages. First, I asked for a therapist with experience and they set me up with a young man who is either straight out of massage school (I don't know how he graduated), or he is just the worst masseuse in the city, perhaps the state. He had no idea how to perform or even pace a massage. I was booked for 90 minutes, and he spent the entire time sweating, snorting, dripping snot and "rubbing" (I don't know what to call what he was doing) on my neck and upper back. He barely used any oil and his sweaty hands were sticking to my skin. Gross. He could not perform strokes--he would get halfway through a stroke and just stop abruptly. I decided to give him another chance but the next time was even worse. He even told me "I don't think I will have time to massage the rest of your body--just the back of your neck." Seriously? It was 90 minutes--plenty of time to massage legs, feet, arms, scalp, etc. I ended up talking him though the massage because I was so uncomfortable with what he was doing: "What do you think is wrong with my muscles? What did they tell you in massage school about how to work through these types of issues?" Even then, he didn't get it. He actually blamed me for "having jacked up scalenes". Amazing. I practically ran out of the facility. Then I asked the front desk to place me with someone with experience (again), and they placed me with a woman who supposedly has 20 years experience. She is nice, but she is LAZY. Each time I come in, again for 90 minutes, I emphasize my problem areas and that deep tissue massage is what I need to help my muscles relax. I tell her again and again that the deeper the massage the better. I paid for a package of deep tissue 90 minute massages. THAT IS OVER $1000 THAT I WILL NEVER GET BACK AND I COULD NOT REGRET IT MORE! The female therapist uses light touch no matter how many times I ask her nicely to increase the pressure. She also uses "hot stone massage" which is just a way for her to lightly rub some stones one my back and waste time. The last massage I had she spent 25 minutes BARELY touching my scalp and face. It was ridiculous. My 13 year old son could have done a better job using Q-tips to massage me. And not only that, she ends early EVERY time. It's like she thinks she is doing me a favor. Last time, I walked out so disgusted that I could barely speak to the manager. His name is Abe, and he is a nice enough guy, but he is overwhelmed. The support staff in the front are ridiculous. More than once I have walked out and seen them languishing over the furniture in the front, chatting away, oblivious to customers walking in and out. It's pitiful. The receptionists are either too stupid to handle making my next appointment, or they are rude, and obviously not equipped to make good recommendations as to which therapist will provide a good service. I have been getting massages for 25 years, and this is the worst place I have EVER been. The tables are cheap, the face cradles are uncomfortable, the knee supports are so thin that I may has well be flat on my back because the pad is not supporting my knees to take the pressure off my back. On top of that, the bedspreads are thrown on the floor by the therapists between clients and then placed back on the bed. God only knows when they clean the hot stones, which are left in the warmers after the massage. There are no sinks in the room, no robes to wear and a single bathroom at the back of the building, which is filled with cheap products like generic orange anti-bacterial soap. A place charging as much as Hoshall's should be providing SERVICE like Hoshall's. At Hoshall's the face cradles are made of Tempur-Pedic material, the tablets are wide, the sheets are high quality and the staff are professional. One place for Massage Heights Folsom to start would be to book some time in between massages, so that clients paying for 90 minutes would actually get 90 minutes. Instead, they book straight through, so you are paying for the time it takes to turn the room over and for you to change your clothes. There are a few crappy hangers in the room, a tiny shelf, but really nowhere to place your belongings. I could keep going, but this review is already too long. Bottom line: AVOID THIS MASSAGE HEIGHTS AT ALL COSTS!!! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED IN THE MASSAGE, THE STAFF, THE FACILITY AND YOU WILL FEEL A HOLE IN YOUR WALLET THAT CANNOT BE REPLACED. I love this place. I go once a month and every time I walk in, I'm treated as if I'm there every day. The front desk staff is uber friendly and welcoming. I've had massages from several therapists and every one of them has been great. One time, I got a massage from Dawn and now I make sure to see her every time because she is the best therapist EVER! Dawn is amazing, friendly, and hee-lare-ee-us! She is diligent in getting rid of my knots and I always walk out of the shop blissfully. The shop and rooms are perfectly decorated for a spa experience and is located in the beautiful Palladio shopping center. That's actually the only thing to warn you about...depending on what time your appointment is, parking might be a little tough. But here's a tip...don't waste your time looking for curb parking. Park in the neighboring Whole Foods parking lot or parking garage. There's usually plenty of room in one of those places and it's a very short walk to the shop. read more

Wow I can't believe the horrible comments I am reading on here! I have had nothing but excellent service at Massage Heights. This place is a gem compared to my previous location Massage Envy and hotels. All the therapist have a lot more hours under their belt and are highly professional. My first experience walking in was great, the guys at the front desk were very nice and helpful in all the questions I had. My fiancé and I had couples massage scheduled for our first time here and we both agreed it was our best massage yet. I decided to sign up since my therapist Audrey did an amazing job on my back. She knew exactly where all my key problems were and that woman knows how to work her hands! Now after having my 3rd session of the first month I am all cured now and go to a regular monthly session. I am 100% a believer in massage therapy. Audrey saved me from all the pain I had after recovering from an intense foot break. Since my massages were great I decided to get a facial with Amanda. She is a younger lady like myself so I knew we would connect right off the start. She would tell me about my skin and how I have thick layers and to which I need a better exfoliate to get to my pours. She was not pushy at all to sell me products but in the end I did buy one item. Dermatology is a great brand and since Amanda did a great job I purchased it.
