I had a massage last Friday. I had purchased a package and I had one left on the package. I called to make an appointment and informed the person on the phone that I was coming in to use the last massage on my package. When I showed up to check in, the check in was quick and easy, "Oh yes, you're all set". I sat down to check my messages and email in the phone and to turn the phone to vibrate in consideration of other customers. I had Lodema for my massage therapist and she was very good. My trapezoids were very tight and so she worked on them quite a bit and got them to release. I highly recommend her as a massuese. HOWEVER, the drama all began with the checkout. That's when they tell me I don't have another massage left on my package. I told the receptionist that if that was the case, I should have been informed at the time of check in so I would have the opportunity to make an informed choice about whether or not to incur the services/expense. She gets Julie on the phone (not sure of her title) and she tells me that what she can do for me is to sell me another package or membership but that she cannot honor the remaining massage I had left on my package because it had expired. I asked her why then was I not informed so I would have the choice at check in. She told me she had left me a message on my phone. Later I saw she did leave a message but only after I had checked in and turned my phone off, so I didn't get any message in a timely manner in order to make an informed decision. Here's another thing: I called to make an appointment a few months ago to use that remaining massage I had on my package. I called in to make the appointment for the following day, again telling them I had a massage left. I woke up sick the day of the appointment and so I called to tell them I could not make it. Because it was less than 24 hour notice, they charged me a $20 cancellation fee. So if I did not have a massage on my package, I wouldn't have made the appointment and I wouldn't have incurred the $20 cancellation fee. EDITED REVIEW: I have edited my review from a one star to a four star. Deanna, the owner called me about my yelp review and was truly interested in seeing what she could do to make things right. She was very professional and understanding and offered me to come back for a complimentary massage. I booked with Lodema again and got another wonderful massage. I realized I needed more time working on my neck. So, because the owner worked with me, I gave this studio another shot and even purchased a 3 month package. Thank you Lodema for another wonderful massage and thank you Deanna for working to resolve my initial frustration with the check out procedure. I am looking forward to going back. read more

WON'T LET ME CANCEL MEMBERSHIP My fiancee and I have been going to Massage Heights for about 2 years. We've each had some really great massages and some mediocre ones. The business model here, as with many massage places, is to push people toward a monthly membership and then hope that they forget to cancel. Which is fine. No judgments about that. But, because my fiancee and I each have about 10 massages 'stored up,' I wanted to cancel my membership...and Massage Heights won't let me. It started when called and asked somebody on the phone. They said they couldn't process my request and a manager would contact me. Didn't happen. Then I asked in person. I was told that even though I was in the facility, I could not cancel, and a manager would reach out. Then I emailed the corporate office. They did get back to me right away (which was nice), but only to say, "As each of the Massage Heights Retreats are independently owned and operated, only the Massage Heights location that you had signed your membership agreement with would be able to review your membership file and request with you." So now, my next step will be contacting my credit card to have them stop payment. read more

Just had another amazing massage with Steven Perez. His background in massage and physical therapy has been helping my frozen shoulder. He provides ideas on the benefits of stretching and why continued healing massage is so important. Massage Heights honors COVID regulations by taking your temperature before signing in...everyone wears a mask the entire time. I found it comfortable and not a distraction from the massage. This place has sadly went down hill I've been coming here for a while but both my massage therapist have left & since than I've struggled to find someone new who fits me. I've tried multiple different people they all seem to have rough hands long finger nails & basically just lather me up. They do not really attend to my issues. With the beds even being cold to the massage oil being even colder it's definitely no longer a go to place for me. I canceled my membership & I'm basically just using up the time I have left on my account. If a customer tells you what they would like to work on & the issues there having listen to them I'm sure even after going over a persons back u will find the knots. If experienced u should know how to handle the situation. If I'm telling you my shoulder & neck bother me why are u massaging my front chest & chin ? I have been a member for a year now and my experience has been some of the best. I have injuries from the military when I was younger, mainly dealing with my neck and back. They have a wide range of staff that deal with different types of firmness and their membership packages are a great deal also you have options to add to your massage like cupping and scrubs. I was a licensed massage therapist in another state a few years ago. I know what to look for, what a good massage feels like, what is accomplished by a knowledgeable massage therapist. I also belonged to another establishment with a membership program. My experiences at Massage Heights at South Pointe Plaza have been wonderful and I dropped my membership at the other business. I have always been very happy with services here! I have my personal favorite massage therapist.. but they're all good. The people in the front are always so nice and pleasant to be around! They call you to remind you that you have services available and try to accommodate your schedule! I've been going here for about 2 years now and I'm happy I found it! I love the membership! Health check upon entering, everyone wearing masks and never more than one other person in waiting room. I've had a membership to Massage Heights for almost a year. Most of the therapists are great, today I had an amazing massage with Mandy, totally worth Yelping about! When I called to originally make my monthly appointment, the receptionist told me that she has wonderful reviews from clients. I've had a great experience here, and am relieved to get over my preconceived notions that massage is an indulgent, once/year, treat. I've had a lot of neck pain and discovered that my traps and lats were extremely tight. Turns out sitting at your desk all day really is bad for you (yup!) I've been trying a six-month membership and have seen amazing results! Massage as self-care is therapeutic and integral to my stress management. The space is very relaxing and welcoming, and everything is clean and designed to make you as comfortable as possible. They even have breast pillows! I've been working with Lucy, and highly recommend her. She has yoga and reiki certification and it shows! She's intuitive and thoughtful in her approach and she carefully listens to what you are and not saying, checking along the way that you're feeling okay and that your trouble spots are getting the right amount of TLC. The most horrible experience I've ever had. I went in for a deep tissue massage neck and shoulder focused. I explained this numerous times prior to the massage starting and during the session. The massage therapist Kaitlin barely touched my neck and shoulders where I told her pain was and did not even rub my upper shoulders where my knots are. I had to ask her over 4 times to apply deeper pressure and the last time she started digging her nails into me. She was very rough and loud when moving around and repositioning me. I was taken back after my appointment time and she ended the session early. When I spoke with Sandra at the front desk she was unconcerned and extremely rude to me. She gave me an attitude and brushed off anything I had said. I would not recommended anyone going here. I left feeling more pain than when I went in and really disappointed at the unprofessional and unkind treatment from the staff. read more

I received one of their introductory 1 hour Swedish massage for a steal of $49.99 + gratuity. The place was very clean and modern. Initially they ask you to fill out some paperwork and also opt out of areas of your body you find off limits. The therapist was calming and pleasant. The space was clean with dim lights, warm clean sheets, and soothing music. I also had the option of lavender or eucalyptus aromatherapy which was complimentary. I opted for eucalyptus which consisted of just three sprays into my nose. I didn't smell it in the pillow or anywhere else. The music was soothing, but I wish they offered a choice...sure the new age hippy crap music is all the rage, but personally I'd have preferred the sound of the ocean or something to the effect. Not Yanni. The therapist was not that great at all. She identified some areas (my neck and shoulders) that needed major work, but she didn't apply nearly enough pressure to do anything. I felt like she just kind of rushed through everything. She did attempt to get a knot from under my right shoulder blade which felt like this just got real and I am really in Hostel 4. It felt like torture. There are better techniques for getting knots out, just sayin'. You get what you pay for, for sure! At the front they try to upsell on you pretty aggressively on their monthly membership, but considering my underwhelming experience I shot that down real quick. I did not feel any benefit from that massage at all. I might have just gotten unlucky with the masseuse I was assigned. read more
