First and foremost.. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY! If I could give zero stars.. I would. But since I can't the next best thing is to hopefully save the next person from experiencing what my husband and I went through. You would think that a company that specializes in massages and facials, would bring relaxation and comfort into your life, especially when you and your spouse reluctantly sign a 6 month contract for $180 a month.. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. With the pandemic shocking is to our core, we decided to continue our payments and we figured once the pandemic was over we would be able to use our credits, since that's how they got us to sign a contract with them in the first place. I'm sure the majority of people would agree that going to a massage parlor where people go to get naked on a table, while someone is practically on top of you, touching and rubbing, and making you sweat, is not the place to go when a deadly pandemic is going on. Whenever our six months ended, which was on April 2020, the charges stopped, then a month later we get a text stating that we needed to update our payment information so a payment could be made and we could use our remaining credits. Confused, my husband calls the facility and asks to speak to a manager about the situation, their explanation was that they had just updated their systems that that could've been the reason why we got that text. She then checked our contract and stated that it was a year, not six months. We disagreed on the time that we had supposedly signed a contract to, but decided that it was pointless to argue because she claimed if we didn't pay the remaining six months, we wouldn't be able to use the credits we already had which was a total of 10 between the two of us and it would affect our credit. Very hesitant, we agreed and told her that we would continue the payments but that we didn't feel comfortable coming in because of everything going on. She agreed and told us not to worry, that we would be able to use our credits once things calmed down. Fast forward six months, our contract is over and we figured that was that. The following month we get another charge, now my husband is furious, he calls the facility again and they tell him that there was nothing noted about us wanting to end our contact once the year was over, we argued that we hadn't even agreed to the full year to begin with but that we paid it because we would eventually want to use our credits. The manager claimed she would cancel our contract, but that we would HAVE TO PAY THE EXTRA MONTH THAT WAS CHARGED, obviously pissed off about the extra payment once again we hesitantly agree and leave it at that. The following day my husband asks me to call back, to make sure that our contract was truly cancelled.. To my surprise, it was not. The new girl I spoke to explained that the only way to cancel our contract was to sign ANOTHER contract to cancel. Shocked, I ask why this was never explained when it was obvious that we wanted to cancel at the six month mark. Fed up I ask for the "contract to cancel", it is emailed to me and that's when I see that we have 3 months to use our 22 credits, keep in mind we were under the impression that we would have an indefinite amount of time to use our credits which was verbally stated originally when they convinced us to sign a contract with them. Since things started to calm down, my husband and I decided to try using our credits starting this January. That massage had to be the most uncomfortable one ever.. For one when we got there our temperatures weren't even checked, that bothered me but at least they were all wearing masks, two they asked us to keep the mask on during the massage and on top of that they added an extra cover to the area where you place your face which made it extremely difficult to breathe. That hour felt like the longest hour ever because I was damn near suffocating during the service. All in all.. If you want a massage in Houston, go anywhere but here. There are plenty of local parlors or mom and pops that would probably treat you like a worthy customer, not just more money for the company, who caught us with their "you can use your credits anytime" bullshit. Between my husband and I, we have 20 credits left over at $90 each.. And our "three month to use the credits" ended a week ago. As much as I wanted to get my money's worth, COVID and Massage Height's horrendous customer service made it an easy decision. I'm just hopeful that my review will help avoid this horrible customer service for the next person. So heed my advice, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH MASSAGE HEIGHTS!!! read more

First time visitor here and it was an amazing experience! My bf gifted me a gift card for Christmas, so I was able to call and make an appointment. Interestingly, I couldn't book online for more beyond 2-3 days out. Not sure if it was my phone, but anyhow, I called and the service from that moment was great. The day of my appointment, I arrived early to fill out the first time client form on the tablet. Took a few minutes and then I just waited. It was really on time, but only off by like 4 minutes. The therapist really listened to my needs. Amazing experience!!! Still not sure it was the full 60 minutes, but honestly- it felt so good. My muscles really appreciated it!! I was in Mid Town visiting a friend and he surprised me with a gift card to Massage Heights. I googled the nearest location and this location popped up. My experience was great! I did not have an appointment but they were able to get me in. The young lady at the front desk was knowledgeable and very pleasant. I love that they ask you're gender preference for your therapist and what type of pressure you would like during your massage. My therapist was a guy named Oshaugheessy, he was very pleasant and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all! He used the perfect amount of pressure. He did an excellent job! This location is not close to where I live or work but if I'm ever in the area I would definitely come back here. This place is incredibly misleading and, as you can see on several other reviews, definitely scams a lot of people with auto-renewal of memberships. They advertise the membership as a 1 hour massage monthly, in reality it's a 50 minute massage per the contract and in practice the masseuse literally massages for 35-45 minutes tops each time. It's actually comical. I addressed the issue with the "manager" who stared blankly at me when I asked questions then said she'd check the CAMERAS in room?!? The therapists here are pretty good and probably not even direct employees but the support staff is laughably incompetent. You also cannot cancel unless you provide a (no joke) death certificate of the membership holder , move 25 miles away or medically can no longer receive services. Honestly, the customer service here was not why I gave this place 2 stars.. it was the massage therapist.. she was rushing my whole massage and she never asked me once if I liked my pressure I had to say "ow" a couple of times and had to tell her continuously to decrease the pressure. I made a massage appointment for a 30 min slot.. granted I know that it's not your usual 1 hour experience but you still do not need to rush my service. At the end of my massage, I asked if she could wipe the oils off my feet because they usually wipe the oils off my feet with a WARM towel. She then went and grabbed the towel didn't even shake it or let it cool off and she put it on my feet! HOT LIKE FIRE! I screamed ow! She goes sorry! And then didn't even attempt to wipe my feet after. She goes "ok hope you like your service!!" And the left the towel on the bed for me to wipe my OWN feet... lady? Seriously? This is the place I look forward to after a hard week at work and the gym. If you're looking for a place to relax in a beautiful atmosphere this is your place. Sometimes it's hard to get my favorite therapist but there's always someone ready that knows exactly what I need and takes care of me. They have excellent therapist 'depth' and I rarely have to reschedule. As long as you know what level of pressure you need, the front desk staff will book you with the right pressure level therapist...my advice...if you can't handle firm pressure DO NOT book a firm pressure massage lol...they have a couple therapists that can really get in there and work out the knots. I paid for a three month membership to see if it would work well with my schedule and heal my neck issues. I have decided not to continue for it's not working out with my work schedule plus it's a bit pricey. Though my neck is feeling better! The lady at the front desk was nice to me as she was telling me that the yearly membership $59/month is the cheapest way to go and that the three months was $20 more a month. ($79). I told her I cannot commit to a year. I asked how I could get out of the contract if need be and she said there is no way out! She said if you move we have massage places all over. I said what if I lose my job she said you will still have to pay! So I said No thank you I don't want that! Then when I said it's best that I not renew my three months right now she got an attitude towards me and turned her back to me which the other woman then finished talking about membership to me. I told them I'm not interested thank you! I walked out wondering what just happened.?! Why the attitude change. I have every right to not continue massages. It's my money and I no longer want to spend it this way. I thought it was all over. Well, This morning I got a charge on my credit card for another three months of massages. (Which is $20 more per session) After reading all of the reviews this should not be allowed to happen. I will call and write a letter to management to get the charges to stop. My favorite location in town! Christopher is the best and the front staff is always very nice. There are locations closer to me but I prefer to drive the extra ways to go to this location. The only bad thing is there is no way to cancel the same day. One time, I was driving back from Dallas and the entire freeway was shut down for 6 hours due to a major wreck. I called and told them what was going on and that it was out of my control. The manager was kind of rude and would not let me re-schedule. I went on a co worker recommendation. The reception was warm and very hospitable. I requested a 30 minute deep tissue massage with strong firmness, an explained why. I requested the 30 minute to see if they could deliver, has I have had poor experiences in the past in these concepts. What I received was a therapist who was rubbing their elbow back on forth on my back with zero technique. When I asked for for deep tissue pressure, the therapist replied " Oh I do not do deep tissue - I do light sports massage. I specifically explained that I needed deep tissue and the front desk confirmed they have got me the perfect match - it was polar opposite. I would of said something on the way out - however there were so many persons checking in I did not want to embarrass myself or the staff. The staff did a great job of following up with calls to check on my experience. Unfortunately I could not take the calls at the time. So I called back and talked to a receptionist and explained my feedback. I was put on hold at least 5 times while she was having a separate conversation on my challenges. To the point, I asked her should I just talk to the person on the phone you keep putting me on hold to speak to? Here reply was - well you'll have to call back tomorrow and speak to a manager. So that ended that for me -- this place in my opinion, delivered the good on hospitality and warm reception on arrival and went to a 1 star after that. Horrible experience here. Service was booked by my husband (as a surprise). When I informed staff that I was not comfortable w/ a male masseuse things went left really quick. Initially was told that no other accommodations would be made as there were no other staff available and if I did not get the service it would be considered a cancellation. So I make the decision to give it a try despite having reservations and the masseuse was not having it. Jack, the masseuse was totally unprofessional and had a despicable attitude, which apparently was due to my request that I have a female. After asking him about an area that I requested to have special attention to during the massage (my hip) he lost his mind, and proceeded to let me know just what he thought of the entire situation...."I am already barely touching you, you are not going to be bossing me around, telling me this and that..." at which point I declared that the service was over and he needed to leave out of the room. I couldn't get dressed quickly enough to report this jackass to management, who although apologized and offered me the opportunity to return at another date with another masseuse, I still was bothered by because she allowed the situation to escalate instead of making a provision in which both me (as a customer) and her staff would be comfortable. I rarely get massages but my friend kept recommending this place to me and I decided to check it out for myself. Right as you walk in you already feel relaxed. The space is very clean and the employees were very nice and explained all the services for me since it was my first time. My masseuse (can't remember her name :/) did an amazing job getting all those knots out my back and though I was definitely sore after my back feels way better.
