Now the hair: I'm Black, I have curly hair, and I was not prepared for the tugging and pulling during the detangling. At one point a loose hair just stuck to my face and stayed there. We bonded. Then the nail scratching started. As a healthcare worker, I was internally screaming. But I stayed strong. They asked my partner (straight hair) if he wanted styling. Me? They just grabbed the blow dryer and went to town. I don't use heat! Walked in with lucious curls, walked out with a puff ball. No warning, no discussion, round brush chaos was my fate. Overall? I felt relaxed until that blow dryer came out. Then I was just overwhelmed with a side of big fluff. They were extremely sweet though! Might come back. I came because it seemed there were over all positive reviews and it was near my house but this was a nightmare I couldn't wait for the technician to stop touching my hair this was not worth $150. Ive been to a different head spa before that was way cheaper and it was the complete opposite from this experience I had here at bollywood head spa. My husband's chair was placed in the back of the room right under the fountain light. Before I had a chance to say something, they announced, we will be closing the door and shutting off the lights. He tried his best to use the blanket he grabbed to cover his eyes from the brightness. I couldn't enjoy my own experience knowing he was placed in such an awkward position in the room. Once the session was over, I kindly asked the staff member to stay back so I can show her that his chair was placed right under the light in an awkward corner of the room. She immediately said, well you could have moved the chair around. We actually couldn't have based on the size of the room and them bringing us in at a later time, when everyone was already laying down in their chairs with their blankets. Overall, I tried to voice our disappointment with the experience in a respectful and discreet way. The employee became defensive instead of listening to our concerns. She chose to argue back. The employee finally said sorry once we were at the check out counter in-front of everyone, making it more awkward for me & my husband. The front desk has the pricing flyers in a stack. The wall to the right has recommended tip amounts based on the service. They recommend $10 and up. To the left is a room divider. You pay before the massage and they also ask you to leave a tip then too. Usually I just tip, but I did hear someone ask if they could tip after. I paid with Apple Pay and once I put the tip on the receipt the receptionist gave me the dollar amount. When you pass the divider there's about 9 beds in the general area and 3 "rooms" divided by curtains to the left. The door at the back is where the employees break and the restrooms are. A little box is provided to hold your phone and belongings. I did a 30 min foot massage and to my surprise, they started at my head while my feet soaked. The massage was wonderful. Linda was my masseuse. The massage ended with some hip stretching and some leg massage. The tip exchange was weird for me, just cause I'm used to someone taking the tip from me, but when I offered, she didn't take it. So I left it in the little box and said thank you and went on my way. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by someone in front. It seems like they have small room for the body massages and a space in the back for the foot massages. My friend said she is too ticklish so she only wanted the 60 minute Body Massage ($60). My feet was hurting from a long week in high heels, so I decided to get their 30 min Body + 30 min Foot Combination Massage ($50). They put us together in a couples room. We both had amazinggggg massages. My friend had Yoyo and I had Lena. Shout out to those ladies. The whole time I felt like the pressure was the perfect amount and Lena did occasionally check on me to make sure I was good with the pressure. We left feeling like we were on cloud 9. Definitely want to make this our girls day Top Golf tradition.
