I saw a deal online for this place and I tried it. The receptionist were very professional and they got me checked in fast for my appointment. And after few minutes the therapist came in and got me. She asked me what kind of massage I want and I told her that i just wanted to relax. The massage is very relaxing but I think I need deep tissue massage next time. The therapist is very professional and did a good job. The entire therapy is relaxing just as I wanted. After the 1 hour massage I also have 15 minutes hydromassage. And that feels amazing. The receptionist offered me some deals and I avail the deal for my next two massage and I can't wait for the next two massage. This review is for the prenatal massage. I struggle when writing a review that is not 5 star but thought it's important to share with other pregnant women so they know exactly what to expect. If you're looking for relaxation only, you may enjoy this. If you are looking for your muscles tightness and soreness to get relief, you will not get it here. Prior to being pregnant I have been getting massages at my home on a monthly basis. I work out regularly and my muscles crave a deep massage. My regular service didn't offer a prenatal so I gave massage luxe a try. Before booking the appointment I. Stopped by in person to ask about the process of the massage, make sure they could offer a firm/deep pressure (I am completely understanding that It cannot be the pressure of a sports massage) and see who they recommended for the therapist. The front desk girls assured me that even though they do not have prenatal massage pillow, the therapist would still be able to give a firm pressured massage that would relieve muscle tension, while avoiding the pressure points that you shouldn't use firm pressure on during pregnancy. I was happy with their explanation and decided to give it a try. Day of massage I explained to the therapist that I work out at least 4- 5 days a week and wanted the firmest pressure possible. I also asked if I could have some of the massage while laying on my back (I'm 25 weeks my bump is still small and have no issues laying on my back during workouts and sleep on my back from time to time as well without issues) but she said it was their policy not to do prenatal on back. even though it's hard to reach the arm and leg muscles properly on your side, I was still understanding and okay with this. The massage lasted 40 to 45 mins max. They gave over 15 mins for dressing and undressing (I was out of the place and in my car before an hour). They only massaged my back (and legs for less than 5 mins even though I said my leg muscles were tight). It's hard to even call it a massage, she used the same pressure that I use when I put my lotion on. So basically it was someone rubbing lotion on my back and the bottom half of my legs for 40-45 mins... they didn't touch my arms, feet, hands, neck, or hamstrings/quads. I came here yesterday for my birthday and was very pleased with my facial, and my massage. However I was not pleased by the front desk. For one the two of them looked like they rolled out of bed and came to work they looked completely unprofessional. I tried this place because I got a buy one get one offer in the mail. The facility is clean and organized. The Massage was more of a spa massage than a therapy/clinical Massage. Luckily my back was in a decent shape ,a light Swedish Massage was enough to make me feel refreshed. After the Massage, I got into the dry "hydro-Massage" bed. I really loved the feeling on the water jets pressure in my back. The hydro Massage water is warm so it was this nice cozy feeling as the water jets go up/down my back. My first massage was great, which encouraged me to sign up for a monthly membership, which was good for a few massages. I had surgery recently, so I had to skip a few months and had many hours build up in my account. I typically book a massage for an hour and a half at a time to accommodate change time, etc. SO, I booked a 2 hour massage OVER a week ago for a Friday afternoon. The night before (less than 24 hours I may add), I received a call that their NEW "policy" is that Friday is now considered and weekend and no more than an hour at a time can be scheduled on a "weekend". They said they had to knock my time down to an hour. When I asked why they allowed me to make the appointment to begin with (and I scheduled time off from work around it), they said it was a mistake, and there was no way around it. First, good customer service honors their "mistake", with a notice that there was an error, and moving forward that is the policy... I'm TOTALLY OK with that and would have noted it for the future with a positive experience and review. But no, they did not budge because the owner directed to make the changes, and I'm not allowed to speak with the owner. I asked to cancel my membership and get a refund on the money they have already taken out of my account (because I don't appreciate being treated like that for a very expensive membership) - but NO, NO REFUNDS. That is theft. They can change policies whenever they want, but not THAT policy. They did not provide a service that THEY scheduleda and I have already paid for, and now they are stealing my money. Had I been the party to cancel or reduce the length of appointment time within 24 hours of service, they would have charged me! But they can make whatever changes they want the night before? Not sure the thought process behind this because now they have: 1) 2 hours free the night before that may NOT be booked now. I hope for the massage therapists sake they can book them because that is his livelihood. They had that business booked for the full 2 hours already, and the therapist was in line for a good tip (I always tip well :) If they have the business booked regardless who it is, why chance losing it? Doesn't make sense. 2) They lost a monthly elite customer. 3) They lost the referrals they have received from me (but those individuals have not gone yet, thank goodness, and parties have already been informed) 4) Instead of a great review in how they handled this situation and providing a positive experience which ALWAYS results in more business, they are getting this review and a report has already been filed with BBB. I typically like this location, but had a very unfortunate instance that was easily avoidable. I requested a massage with someone who was well trained in deep tissue and was paired with the wrong therapist. After having my face rubbed with oil, and then my front throat deeply massaged, I explained I preferred neck and shoulders and my face not be touched. The therapist stopped and said "we have different styles.". I was then passed onto another therapist, who was very kind and offered the type of massage one would expect from deep tissue, but for only 20-30 minutes due to the prior instance. Upon checking out I was asked by Jordan at the front how everything was (not looking up from the computer) and I said, not great, I only got about 20 minutes of service after the mix up. She said "sorry" again, not raising her eyes. I asked if it would be possible to have a credit of 30 minutes to which she said "mmm, no that's not possible." Again- never looking up. I asked to speak to a manager and she informed me the manager was out "until the end of the month." I left confused and upset. So I called and tried to speak with Jordan again. She put me on hold. I called back. She didn't answer. I called back- finally an answer. She said she'd put notes on my file after I begged to at least explain the situation and that I wasn't simply out to gain. Suddenly, the manager is back Monday after several questions. I don't believe she added any notes to my file, so I'm leaving this detailed review for Lesley, the manager, for when she returns. Business has horrible management. It began when they scheduled us for the incorrect day. Even after we showed them they made the mistake they still took the hour we had paid for. We then cancelled our membership. They would not stop withdrawing the monthly payment. It took 3 months before we finally got them to stop charging us for a plan we had cancelled. When we complained about the charges they acted like we were lying about cancelling our plan and made us drive to their location to show proof of cancellation. They conveniently had no record of it. We never received a refund for the 3 months of mischarges and had to dispute with credit card to get our money back. I had the most disgusting display of customer service I have ever experienced at Massage Luxe on 12161 W Linbaugh Ave Tampa 33626. Rose K front desk greeter was not only rude, but extremely disrespectful. Another woman who identified herself as a manager declined to provide her name stating she was not legally obligated to do so, so I will describe her as heavyset with black straight hair wearing a olive green dress. Here is my rationale for my earlier comment. I was pitched a membership offer to include the hour I used on 5/22/23 One additional hour prior to being charged the monthly membership fee. Both Rose K and the self identified manager stated that Brooklyn did document the offer on my account but would/could not honor the offer because she should not have offered it. Rose K proceeded to tell me that my card on file would be charged the fee quoted to me previously for the hour i was scheduled for. When I questioned her about the fee and the One additional hour offered to me she stated " my account showed 0 massages and her hands are tied, there is nothing she can do" I did challenge her response and was told I am responsible for the fee despite being told i had one hour of comp massage for becoming a member. Rose K and the "manager" became increasingly argumentative with me exclaiming simple math equations to me and spelling simple words to me. When I advised they were being very disrespectful to me they asked me to leave the building. I was charged the monthly membership fee of $59.99 and another fee of $52.00. I purchased a Groupon for my sisters birthday for her to get a massage. I realized it was expiring soon so I went ahead and booked an appointment for her at the Linebaugh location in Tampa, Florida. So if I had not mentioned the Groupon while booking the appointment I definitely could have used it another time, however, being that they asked I gave them the information. My sister (who is pregnant and was scheduled for a prenatal massage) was not feeling her best and since I was working I was not able to contact the location and let them know that she would need to reschedule. I called them shortly after the appointment time (2 p.m) to see if there is anything they can do since my sister is a first time client and not only did they redeem the Groupon they also don't give you an option to reschedule for another time. They just take your money for the missed appointment, talk about horrible customer service! I had time to burn and really needed a massage. So, I checked Groupon and found a $30 deal for a one hour massage + 15 minutes hydro massage. I was able to book a spot within 40 minutes of my call. When I got there the lovely ladies at the desk were very pleasent and nice. I filled some forms and waited for the therapist. Stephanie was her name and she grabbed me right on time. I told her what my issues were and she left the room for me to undress. She was really good. She started with my back and neck and after about 5 minutes she asked me if the intensity was enough (I really appreciate when therapist ask that question since it's important). She increased the intensity as I requested and she continued to massage me from shoulders to gluts, legs and feet. She was really good!!! After the massage, I got to try the hydro massage = basically a bed you lay on that has warm water shooting up while you are laying on a mattress. You don't need to take your cloths off. you can control the areas it hits, intensity and speed via a screen. I really enjoyed that. Nice finish to a lovely massage. What I didn't like at the end, the ladies at the front desk were very pushy to get me to buy a membership for 2 months. I decided not to get it although it's a pretty good deal. read more

I arrived 15 min early, but my masseuse called me back a few minutes late, shortening my actual massage time. They get 3 stars because the massage was simply...watered down. It felt like only the back half of my body was touched. Halfway through, when I flipped over, my arms nor legs were even addressed, only the chest and feet. I also didn't smell the scent I had picked out at all until I got home and it reeked through my clothing. I had never been there but decided to try it out after using a GroupOn deal. The girl on the phone was nice and professional when I made my appointment, which was easy to get. When I got there, the front desk staff was friendly and professional. The small waiting room had a nice get-ready-to-relax vibe and offered tea, water with lemon and bottled water. After my massage was over I was also offered a cold bottled water, not just a cup of water, so that was very nice. My massage therapist was excellent (I think his name was Scott but not positive). It was professional, great pressure and just as I expected and hoped. The only issue I had was, partway through my massage when I had to turn over onto my back, my arms (which were then on top of the blanket that covered me) started itching soon after. I don't know if it was because my arms were touching the fuzzy blanket or what the problem was. Maybe I was allergic to the blanket or the detergent? I don't know. I've had easily more than 100 massages and have never experienced feeling itchy during a massage before. After my massage they brought me to the HydroLuxe massage machine since a 15 minute session was also part of the GroupOn offer. There was no wait which was awesome; I was able to walk right in. It's in a small little room right by the entrance. The machine was pretty cool but not as amazing as I expected. It's kind of like when you go to Brookstone and try out a massage chair--it's fun but you're not transformed. With this machine you lie on your back and these high pressure water jets go up and down the back of your body (this is all under the bed material since it's a "dry" massage). It's cool because you can control the speed and pressure and you can watch the timer knowing how much time you have left. After the massage was over... thaaaaaaaaaaat's when you get hit with a sales pitch. Once they ask how everything was, they try to offer you a $10 deal for your next massage if you try a one-month trial membership. I declined--at this point I was itching so much I just wanted to leave. Well of course good salespeople don't take no for an answer so, she then made another offer and said they'd drop the $99 enrollment fee. Now of course this fantastic deal was TODAY ONLY; otherwise the next time I come the massage will be $75. (LOL) When I declined and she wondered why since I seemed to have a good experience, I told her, well to tell you the truth, I am ITCHING after the last massage and it's driving me nuts and I just want to get home. So she responds, "Sometimes people itch after getting a massage--it's because of your blood flow after the massage." I tried not to laugh at that explanation and I just politely said I have had more than 100 massages and I've never itched from any of them before. So then she suggested maybe I was allergic to the detergent in the blanket--she was mystified because they wash the blankets every day. *Shrug* I really don't know. I'm a little skeptical, but hey I guess it's possible. So THEN another girl at the front desk overhead me say I was itching and she said, "Yes, sometimes people experience that the first time they use the HydroLuxe machine." LOL... uh no, this started in the middle of my massage before I ever used the HydroLuxe machine. So the skilled sales girl then pivots and said, "Well, you can use your membership for facials if you prefer that!" Ha ha unfortunately for her I am skilled in saying no. Overall I say this is a one-time experience. Let's say I hadn't had the itching problem... The fact is I could get just as nice a massage down the street at Essentials Massage for $29 any day of the week (I go often to the one in South Tampa), and then I wouldn't have to have to deal with a sales pitch and then 3 more with every objection. Unlimited HydroLuxe machine usage isn't enough of a draw for me to justify a monthly fee that's around $60 from what I hear when I could just double-up on my massages at Essentials. Everyone was very nice and professional during the experience, but I suspect this membership is much like those gym memberships where they're your BFF and everything is going to be fabulous, but once they get your credit card, good luck trying to cancel your membership without going through a bunch of hoops that make it difficult. read more

This was to be my first massage and my massage therapist was super personable and courteous, although he should have used less pressure as this was my first massage. After the massage, I was offered $10 membership for the month based on the agreement that I will stay with them for another month for another $59. I asked for time to evaluate the massage 1st, but I was told that it was a today only offer, which in hindsight I'm certain was a lie. I ended up taking the offer as I had been meaning to include massage in my wellness routine. A few hours later, all hell broke loose! My back and shoulders hurt so badly I could not sleep that night. The pain lasted for four whole days. I called requesting to cancel the membership based on this but they refused and showed no regard for my well-being and satisfaction. When the money became due they called me to demand the $59 (the card I signed up with was cancelled due to a breach in security) and I explained what happened again and requested to speak to a manager several times. For two weeks no one contacted me and I was not allowed to speak to a manager who was never on the premises. I should have taken all these other negative reviews seriously before I went it. Do not make the same mistake I did. MassageLuxe does not care about it's customers, it only cares about taking your money, ethics be damned. I'm going in today to cancel and pay up and they are all too happy to charge me for a service I will never use. No I won't deal with such pains and disregard even if you paid me.
