Awful. I created a Yelp account specifically to rate Massage Luxe. We received a Groupon last Christmas as a gift, but just got around to using it. Since the Groupon deal was no longer available, we could use the amount of the Groupon deal towards the original deal but needed to pay the difference. My wife and I were aware this would happen and were completely fine with this. When my wife called to make the appointment, the staff asked if we would prefer to do a couples massage since we were both coming. We agreed. We were never told about the additional $5 up-charge per person until it was time to pay. It is not a lot of money, but an additional charge we weren't aware of. The place is clean, the reception was nice. Easily filled out the mandatory paperwork. After, we were taken to a waiting area where there were waters and tea. It was absolutely freezing. Next, we were taken to our room for the joint massages. This room was also freezing and I was shaking from the cold while we waited for the masseuses to come back. I wish I could say the massage itself was mediocre or unimpressive. I can't even say that much for it. The lady I had was awful ( I wish I had gotten her name). She asked which parts she should focus on ( neck/ upper back) and promptly started at my feet and legs. I'm not sure if she knows where muscles are located. Here's a stream of thoughts that went through my head as the massage progressed: - We're starting at my feet. Ok, that's fine. - Now we're applying lotion to my callouses and rubbing it in. Weird? Maybe things will pick up? Maybe she's just finding her groove? - Starts lifting my leg and aggressively pulling ankle. Ouch. Maybe she's loosening? It's been a while since I've had a massage.. - More aggressive quick rubbing, I'm getting some anxiety because I can't figure out why anyone needs to rub this fast. - I have an itch. Slow, discreet itch movements on my toe so she won't notice. - Asks if pressure is too hard. I say pressure could be a little harder, I just have an itch. She scratches my toes. Thanks? - I'm thinking she will slow down and get into my muscles. Nope. A little more pressure, aggressive quick movements near my inner calf near the bone and inner thigh. We don't even touch the larger outer muscles. At all. -We move on to my back. I'm most excited about this. - Puts warm, wet towel on back. - Removes towel.. I'm freezing. I'm uncontrollably shaking. - More quick, light rubbing up and down my arm. We don't focus on muscle groups. She is literally just warming me up so I don't have goosebumps. This is literally the only time she touches my upper arms ( or lower arms for that matter) at all. - Back time! Yes! This is going to be great! This is my main focus! She was just giving me quick aggressive movements earlier so she could get to my back faster!!! - Nope. she lays on my back with her forearms. She only goes over my spine and on top of my shoulder blades. We don't touch my upper back near the neck. We don't go over the knots in my back. She doesn't move my arm to get under my shoulder blade. We don't rub next to the spine. We don't touch the back muscles at all. Aggressive, quick, laying motions on my spine. Lots of pressure on the spine. -I start giggling so I don't cry. Debate on whether to end the session. Debate on if it's worth explaining where the muscle groups are and how deep tissue works. Seems like a lot of work. - Start panicking a little. This isn't slow. This isn't relaxing. This isn't deep in my muscle. This is a lot of bone pain. Dear God, I wonder how much time is left? - Oh- arm time. Maybe earlier was just to warm me up? Now we will really get into those arm muscles! - Nope, again. Lifts my arm. Bends my elbow towards my shoulder and yanks quickly back and forth. Continually. I'm afraid she will break my wrist. Asks me to relax my arm. I can't. I'm tensing. Trying to keep her from pulling my joints. - "Massaging" my hand. This should feel good. It doesn't. She only focuses on my knuckles and the bones on the back of my hand. It hurts. - Patiently waiting for her to work up my forearms and upper arm. Spoiler alert. We're done with my arms. - She flips me over. "Massaging" continues at the legs again. She mostly just rubs my shin bone roughly. She also rubs my knee joint and it pops. - Moving up. We got to my quads. She does something!!!!!! There is actually deep tissue massage!!! ( I mean.. This is a pretty big body section. It would be hard to miss.. I'll take what I can get though. ) - We keep going with the thighs! We're touching my groin! It's getting weird! Should I have shaved? I didn't realize we were going to be this invasive. -Massage continues to the top of my collarbone and the tendons on the front of my neck. WHY. Finally finished, we are asked if we want a membership (no) and asked how the massage was ( while masseuse is standing there). This was a frustrating experience. Wont be back. read more

We live in Massachusetts and weren't sure if this place would be up to par. The atmosphere was great and the front desk was more than friendly. I had Randolph for a massage therapist and he was on point. It really felt like he was in tune with my body's needs. My body runs cold and their massage beds had a warming pad and this help tremendously. In fact, he even went a step further and put a warm towel on my feel. He didn't talk throughout the entire massage and that was a plus, he even mentioned that he would give me the choice to chat or not - i chose not to! If we lived here, i'd 100% go back! The front desk has been lacking for a couple months but I just encountered Josh who was very refreshing and even though he couldn't get me in with Anthony (he's that good) was pleasant and so helpful. My only complaint is that you can't book online which is first world problems but hey... connivence of booking online would make up for the front desk being 3 stars most of the time. read more

However, my massage was pretty disappointing and I am pretty sure my massage therapist was texting on her phone during my massage. I am having so much trouble with a Groupon they redeemed. I booked a reservation for my husband on a Sunday, Father's Day and they booked him Saturday. When I called to confirm they told me I booked Saturday. I have witnesses at work that I booked Sunday and my husband works every Saturday, so that doesn't make sense. Instead of owning their mistake they made it out to be "my fault." I am working with Groupon to resolve the issue and Groupon is being very helpful. At this point I am redeeming the coupon out of principle because I took him somewhere else and paid the full price and had to get me a massage after the stress of dealing with Massage Luxe staff and management. read more

Now don't get me wrong, the masseuse here are absolutely fantastic. They deserve all the credit, but where my 1 star review is stemming from is their horrible membership. BEWARE! I purchased a membership in July that was set for august -ended up paying for august but never used my credit because I was traveling- Now that Im back I have decided to cancel my membership for September (Its my fault because i forgot to call right before they charged my card) so I got into my bank account and notice that the charge is still pending, I tell them I will just cancel the charge since it has not even been a day since they charged my card. They go ahead and tell me that if they do not receive the funds for September "that will put my account into suspension and I can't cancel it NOR can I use my credit for AUGUST" A SERVICE I ALREADY PAID FOR. I came here for the 1st time with a groupon. I got the prenatal massage and was extremely pleased. The massage therapist was awesome!!! I did sign up for the plan as I like the fact there is non contract. I used to have a contract with massage envy and this place offers more perks. Overall horrible customer service, they have no respect towards a customer when an issue arises, they called me right before an appointment my husband and I had, to cancel and weren't willing to refund us even though it was due to one of their therapists being ill as we agreed to a membership with them "and things happen". I urge anyone considering a membership at this spa to go somewhere else!!! Take them up on the indroductory rate and run! Brandon is amazing, he gives a fabulous massage. They don't deserve him. The clerical staff is horrible. I went for a massage only to be told they had called me to cancel - I asked when they called and showed them on my phone I had NEVER received a call from them when they said they called. Okay, well mistakes happen, I get it. Fast forward a couple months and I received a call confirming my appointment for the next day. I told them I would have to call back to reschedule. Then the next day I get an email regarding my appointment. I called and explained that I had told the girl I needed to reschedule. I was informed that since I didn't use the word "cancel" they kept the appointment and since it was outside their "strict" two hour cancellation window I would be charged anyway. I cancelled the account. And someone needs to tell the little girls at the front desk that their nose is connected to their lungs - so cover your nose with your mask, not just your chin. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This place is a complete scam. I had a monthly membership which got me a 1 hour standard massage or a 1 hour standard facial. For the last 3 weeks I've been going in for weekly appointments and paying additionally for microdermabrasion. AFTER my third weekly session and spending over $200 in 3 weeks, the manager tells me about the "packages" available. Nobody had introduced me to these, which could have saved me at least $50, but possibly even closer to $75. What a terribly unprofessional manager. He offered no credit or even attempted to keep my business. He was absolutely unhelpful and gave a pitiful amount of care that I was upset about being uniformed on their package pricing available, resulting in me being overcharged. They make it sound like it is easy to suspend or cancel your membership but it is very difficult. I found this place though Groupon and figured I would give it a try since it was a great price. $35 for a 1 hour swedish massage that also included a 15 minute hydro massage (which is a massage on a table that uses water pulses). I ended up paying an extra $5 because my husband and I wanted to get a couples massage. The lobby area is very clean and spa like, we were then lead to a waiting room were they had complimentary waters and hot tea. Our two masseuse came to get us and brought us to the room. This is where the not so great experience began. First the room was pretty cold! I was expecting that the bed was going to be nice and toasty, like other normal spas (where they have a heated blanket or sheet to warm the bed for you), but I was wrong. The bed was even colder then the room! Secondly, I was expecting the relaxing scent of oils to fill the room (as most spas have), but this one had no scent at all. Thirdly, the massage was not the best. It could have been worst, but I have had much better. At one point during the massage both my feet were out causing me to get super cold. The same thing happened where at one point both my arms were out, even though the masseuse was just massaging one of the arms. Usually at spas they tend to stick your limbs under the sheet when their not massaging it so that you stay warm, but they clearly didn't get the memo here. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, not worth the affordable price. The only good thing they had going was the staff, my masseuse was definitely super sweet and kind, but that doesn't overcome the lack in quality of massage. To top it all off, the hydro table that was included for 15 minutes, had a waiting line when we were done with our massages. If we wanted to do it we had to wait 45 minutes, clearly not worth the trouble. read more

If you call to cancel an appointment and their employee makes the mistake of not canceling that appointment they'll tell you that "there's no proof the cancellation conversation took place" and then they'll use your credit for the month for that massage or charge you for missing the appointment due to THEIR mistake. Then when you cancel your membership (because trust me, you will) they'll request that you come in to cancel. Don't bother. read more

Wasn't sure what to expect out of this new place but I was delightfully surprised! Not only was the environment very classy but they offer you hot tea/water while you wait to be seen. You also fill out your info on an iPad! Very nice. Kelcey was sure to work my troubled areas and didn't neglect any other areas. The use of hot and dry towels was a nice surprise too! The place itself is beautiful and relaxing. The staff at the front is nice and asks you if you want any tea or water. I thought this was going to be my new massage place for sure. Well I thought wrong. My "deep tissue" massage was awful. There was nothing deep about this massage. It felt like someone was just rubbing sunscreen on my back for a day at the beach. Only obligated to a month after you join. $58/month and you get a massage or facial. I was a member elsewhere and I was locked in for a year and could never get out. I LOVE this place!!! I frequent First Watch next door and watched this place build fast. $38 for an hour massage! And it's not just "show up, go in a room, massage, leave". They have a full lounge, facial rooms and a massage machine (called Hydroluxe or something like that). I've had 2 massages now, Randolph and Mounir. Both were amazing!!! I tried this place twice but to be honest, I wouldn't go back a third time. Massage was just ok. "Lounge" is right by the front lobby so its pretty noisey so don't expect to "relax" in there. My therapist (not going to give her name because the spa as a whole was a miss for me) had a very rushed way about her. Massage starts 5 minutes after and ends 10 minutes early so it's really a 45 minutes massage, not an hour. My therapist didn't do the normal check-ins (pressure okay? Music too loud?) and she was also very noisey with her movements and I found that distracting. To sum up the experience, mediocre. Way better spas in the area. read more

I got a Groupon for this place with 15 minutes of Hydrolux but it had expired. I called and they honored the coupon with just paying the $13 difference. My massage was wonderful and I loved the Hydrolux massage bed!! I am so happy I decided to try them out . I've been looking for someone that was able to address all my issues and I think I've found it here. Also their policies are great and you get a lot for your money. Monday 7-27-15 BAD experience today, on my Birthday of all days. A month ago my son purchased a Groupon to our Winter Park, Fal neighborhood Massage Luxe, gave it to me. I used it. Went fine. Now a month later, I decide to treat Myself to a me-to-me B'day gift. Bought my first one via Groupon at same Massage Luxe. Go in for my 3:p.m., appt... they tell me I can't use it since I'd bought one before. Said No, I'd never bought 1.. this is the First... had used one as a *gift*. Was told that was same. (?... no, not really..) I showed them today's printed receipt & showed Nowhere does it say that. It says... "Limit 1 per visit. Limit 1 per person." OK, I was only using 1 today... & using just 1 for me now. Sounds like the requirements were met. No, not so. Young lady was adament. I couldn't use today's purchase. I really enjoy my membership with MassageLuxe. I originally started going with a Groupon and then purchased a monthly membership. The facility is new, beautiful and well-kept. The Winter Park location is convenient. The front desk folks are extremely professional and I have enjoyed the two therapists that I've had. The thing I appreciate most about this facility as compared to other spas I have been too are their extended hours. It's awesome to be able to get a massage at 8PM or 9PM - it allows me to come home from work, walk my dog and then head over with no rush to arrive on time. read more

Purchased a massage through Groupon and booked a massage for the following day. I was running a few minutes late looking for the location, and I called to make them aware. The secretary was great but offered to reschedule for a later appointment time slot. She placed me on hold to speak with the manager and then notified me that the manager, Aj, said my Groupon had already been validated and they could not offer me any other appointment. After I requested to speak with him, he was inconsiderate and refused to help accommodate me in any way stating that I had already wasted the therapist's time. I would like to see more reviews before I choose to make an appointment. Very disappointed Looking for new place since moving here. The person who said she used to work there made very unprofessional remarks attacking customers on their opinion and your review is unprofessional. That's what a review is ! Where your personal opinion not staff. In Virginia and New York 60 minutes is 60 minutes not 50. And in my own personal experience after many years they usually even go over on time giving you extra sometimes. Allowing a professional amount of time for cleanup in between their massage is your appointment problem not the customer getting short changed. Perhaps that how they train people in Florida? I'm waiting for my customer reviews before I make my decision and will ask on the phone for complete details before making my appointment to see what I'm getting. Masseuse or massage therapist she also mentioned was a very nasty go to a strip club my goodness how unprofessional. Some people call the garbage man a waste technicians to be politically correct these days but it's still the same job. Happy belated Mother's Day to all mothers out there! I purchased a Groupon for Massage Luxe Winter Park Florida location. It contained the "New Customers Only" stipulation. When I called to schedule the appointment and advised the rep that I did not know if my wife had been there before. So I spelled out her name for them because she could've been found in their system. It appeared as if the rep was searching due to the delayed pause. Then the rep asked me for my Groupon Voucher number, so I assumed all was well. Thought I hit the jackpot, especially since they had appointments available on Mother's Day. We get to the location and I was checking her in. I hand the rep my wife's DL. She inputs her info and tells me to hold on for a second. She literally called the other rep right next to her and started "whispering" about my wife's information already being in the system, how I paid, how they can't honor my groupon, what date she was there before, and how they'd rather not ruin my wife's mother day so they would offer me an introductory rate. Hence why I put whispering in parenthesis because it was anything but that. Extremely rude. They offered me a rate of $58. It wasn't a problem to pay but if you had an issue with the new customer thing, I'm right there. Talk to me, it's okay. Anyways, I left as my wife went in for her hot stone massage. When I returned to pick my wife up, I could see she wasn't please due to the look she gave me. I paid for her massage and the rep asked me loud as heck if I wanted to leave a tip. Feeling a little pressured, I answered yes. And then in the same tone and volume she asked me how much. What happened to the days where I could leave a tip on my card without verbalizing it to someone?? Anyways, my wife limped out to the car. To me, you just had a massage so the limping is somewhat expected. But she told me that the therapist applied too much pressure and she told the therapist a couple times that it was too much pressure. And the "hot" stones were lukewarm. For some reason, the therapist applied extra pressure to my wife's thighs and upper back. My wife currently, 2 days after her massage, has a 5in bruise on the back of her thigh. I first noticed it yesterday but as of today, it's still present. I have emailed and called Massage Luxe. Their response was, How about a free swedish massage? That will not suffice for this entire situation. What a horrible and wasted experience and Mother's Day gift. read more
