They make a lot of big promises when you're signing up and then never follow through. After paying for lawn care for over a year (and my grass looking 100% worse than when I started), the manager comes out and tells me that their solution doesn't really work on the type of grass I have, so my question is why on earth would someone sell me on the service if it was never going to work? They also told me when I was signing up that they would replace anything that dies - and now that all my grass is dead they said the most they could do is aerate the lawn? I am going to seek out an honest, local company that is actually going to care about my lawn. read more

My husband and I moved into this new apartment in July. Everything has been great so far except we seem to have a couple more pets than we started with. Roaches and palmetto bugs. They're not in the entire apartment (thank god) but they're swarming our kitchen. They're crawling around in the dishes, the fridge, the microwave, the drawers, the pantry, our food... we're scared to eat our own food. And we're clean people! Something that is great about this new apartment complex we moved to is that they offer pest control every Monday upon request and the cost is included with our monthly rent. The second we started noticing bugs, my husband called the office and within two days Massey pest control was there! To... spray raid. (We had already gone through an entire can of raid within the span of a week so them doing it did absolutely NOTHING.) Then the man who sprayed our kitchen told us if our apartment was cleaner we wouldn't have bugs. But we decided to give it a day or two. Maybe this was stronger stuff? Who knows! Same night that he was there, I went into the kitchen... turned on the light.. and there were about fifty bugs staring up at me from the counters, the floor, and the walls. I quite literally vomited in my mouth. They didn't help the problem, they made it worse. So the next morning, we call the office again and we tell the very kind woman in detail what our kitchen is at the moment (roach. city.) And she was kind enough to place another order for Massey to come again on Monday! To help them out, we emptied our entire kitchen and left the cabinets open. The woman even said she would specify to bring some of those sticky traps that are in shitty hotels. Well... second Monday in a row for Massey services to come.. annnnnnnd they only sprayed raid. Not even in the cabinets that were open and emptied, but just on the floor in front of the oven and the fridge. No sticky traps. Nothing more than their version of raid. I'm honestly disgusted at this point at how incompetent they are when specifically asked to spray their raid in certain places and bring simple traps. Time to find someone else who might be able to get rid of these bugs, not bring more! read more

Horrible service. Two weeks ago they only did the front of my lawn and ignored the back and billed me for full service. I was home and watched his actions I filed a complaint and they promised to return the following week. Never showed up. Then they came for irrigation service and I told them it was not needed and they left and they again billed me for service not done. I have a 110.00 invoice that I refuse to pay for services not done. I should have listened to my Nieghbor and not use Massy. Don't waste your money or your lawn on this company I have used them for over a year and has as many, if not more, weeds in my lawn than the day they started. I also had their irrigation service and quickly found that if I was not present to walk the area with them, they didn't actually test the system and correct the issues. The last time they came out I was not home. In order to complete the service, I had to take time off work to meet them. They didn't bother to show for 3 weeks of scheduled appointments. Finally a manager came to complete the service and I was told that because of the issues getting someone out to do the service, I would not be charged. I actually hate to post a bad review. I have had Massey Services for my pest control, lawn service, and irrigation maintenance. I had a problem with the lawn service 2 months ago and spoke with a "supervisor" and the situation was addressed to minimal satisfaction. In July they billed me for irrigation maintenance that they did not do. I was told that a "supervisor" checked the irrigation system when I wasn't home. Is that possible? How do you check sprinkler heads that are under grass? There also was a broken sprinkler head that wasn't discovered. I called to cancel the service and ask that the bill be removed for the service they did not do. I was told that only a supervisor could remove the bill and that he would call me. No call back. I repeated that process again today. Still no call. If you use Massey Service I would highly recommend that you watch them and be sure that they actually do the services you are paying for. Over the past year my weekly lawn mowing service by masseys has become nothing but hit and miss. They may show up in 2 weeks or 3. Only after you send a message on there contact form will you get a call from a region or general manager promising to get the weekly cutting done. They will come for maybe 2 weeks , then back to not showing up. Be wise don't fall for their sale line,, they cannot or won't mow your lawn as required. You will have lawn problems because the long grass will block you sprinkler pattern . When they mow the long grass they will damage the leaves, trying to remove to much at one time. read more

I'd rate them a zero if I could. Poor technical service. Failed to identify half of the sprinkler locations on our property. Consequently, they did not service half the sprinkler. We continue to have poor irrigation coverage. When told of this error, they scheduled someone to come in 4 weeks. When cancelled, they continue to have someone come; though we had to hire another company to fix Massey's oversight. I had Massey for 4 years and had no major issues. However, I sold my home and called them to let them know I didn't want to continue with their services because I no longer would be at the house. Unfortunately, they "can't find a record of my call to cancel" and continued to charge me for my services at a house I no longer own. Avoid Massey Services at ALL costs. If you call to cancel, they tell you only a GM can do it and the GM's aren't available. They tell you that they will call you back to cancel your service and then never do. Then they charge you for additional services beyond that and will NOT budge. The GM in St. Petersburg Florida, JOE, even lied and said that he called me, which he NEVER did. Then argued with me over cancellation policy. Complete lowlife. I feel sorry for anyone that does business with Massey or even is employed there for that matter. My yard looks much worse then when they started treating it. I paid to have the grass in the circle of my driveway (quite large) replaced with a different kind of grass that was supposed to grow well in shade. They came and killed my grass, then it sat for more than six months before they returned to put down the new grass. Now four months later it looks worse than the old grass did before it was killed, and the rest of my lawn has far more weeds than it did when they started. Spotty performance. I canceled the lawn mowing service because no one showed up. Regarding an irrigation contract I had with Massey, my experience was that, when I called for a sprinkler adjustment, they would not come out, or would not commit to a particular time or day when they would appear...so I seldom was able to talk to the technician directly about my concern. Also whenever I called the office about an issue, the response was, "I will email the technician." No date, no time, no confirmation call. Perhaps everyone has a different experience with a given company, depending on technicians, etc., but I decided that I needed something else. read more

I will say I have never worked with this company: however, they felt that it was their duty to come to my front yard, and write up an absurd 3K estimate for lawn service, that I neither asked for nor care to have done. Kind of a scam. Signed an agreement in 2019 for termites. They had put the liquid down for termites while the home was being built, but then I signed up for a plan for $147 per year for them to inspect the home each year and as long as I continued the plan they would cover for termites and any loss as a result of termites. In Feb, I called and scheduled my appointment for Mar and they confirmed. When they didn't show I called them and they said my account was pre-cancelled. They said they automatically cancel each 5 years and would need to come back out and charge me for another application and then continue the $150ish payment for another 4 years and redo again each 5 years. That sounds kind of shady, but the worst part to me is they confirmed my appointment in February, were a no-call/no-show at the appointment and said they told the customers about this when they called. They can't tell me when I schedule or when they pre-cancel, they have to wait for me to call?????? Not to mention I signed in 2019 so 5 years would be 2024. Make sure all this is reviewed with you and you have an understanding of their process before you sign up with them. read more

We had Massey for quite a few years. We constantly had the same issues with weeds and dead spots, and every other month when there was a lawn treatment, the notes from the service said almost the exact same thing regarding treatment. On two separate occasions the tech was at my house less than five minutes, while I had the doors shut and it looked like no one was home. While I can't state for sure he never did the side or back yard, it seems physically impossible for him to get his spray hose unrolled, do the entire large side, back and front yards, and roll the hose back up into the truck, in the short time before I saw the truck leave. On several other occasions I called regarding the same issues, multiple weeds and dead spots. The guy who came out said my lawn guy was pouring chemicals on the lawn, which was not true at all. It also made no sense, as if that was even true, why would he pour chemicals in the middle of the front yard? My lawn guy does not use or handle any chemicals, and I have known him for well over ten years. When we moved out of state, we sold our Florida house, and I cancelled the service. I specifically requested no further treatments, as I no longer lived in the house. They still decided to rush one in a week after cancelling, and refuse to remove the $50 charge, which only highlights how cheap and petty this company is. In short, their service is worthless, most likely cutting corners if they think no one is home, and unethical in trying to sneak in an additional paid visits after cancelling. read more

Do not do business with Massey Services! I should have read reviews before I used them. The service is fine, not great. Every service- pest, termite, mosquito, rodent, etc. is another hefty monthly fee. I paid for a year up front for the discount and I was clear that I did not want to renew once the year concluded. I also had their termite service and rodent control added. After the year was over they continued to bill me and threatened to send me to collections. I spoke with the GM hoping to work out a solution that was fair, but they were unwilling to waive or reduce the cost even though I did not ask for the service to continue. For less money than I paid for pest, termite and rodent, you can use Active Pest Control, and you will get mosquito control as well. That would cost an additional $40 a month with massey. read more

multiple times over the few years I've had massey they have called to tell me they were coming out to do a service and they never did. They've always charged me and I have to call the office to ask them if they came out. Last week I received a call that they would be out over a week ago and when I called yesterday to verify if they had come out or not even though I knew they did not they told me that they had no record of me even being scheduled despite me talking to the individual who was supposed to come out on the phone. 2 years ago I ended my termite policy and they called me to schedule it and when I did not return their call they build me for it and still never came out. The new manager (probably the 5th or 6th in 3 years) emailed and showed up to hand me all of the reports from when they came out as a rebuttal to me claiming they charged me and would not show up unless I followed through. This was a poor attempt to divert from actually providing signed contract agreements. The leadership at corporate hide their contact info and do not return phone calls or emails when you find it, they are cowardice. We as consumers have grown accustom to being over charged and under serviced. My experience with Massey irrigation service and Matt, their rep, has been just the opposite! I had damage done to my sprinkler by my fence install with Mossey Oak whom ,by the way, forces you to agree to a no liability clause related to sprinkler damage. Massey inspected and found there was definitely a broken pipe/pipes in several locations, quoted me and set the repairs for the following Monday. When they arrived, started digging and repairing they realized the break was in one location and not several as first quoted. Matt shared with me the details, informed me it would be less than what I had pre-paid and quickly refunds me approximately 1/3 of what I expected to pay. We've been using Massey Services Inc for almost 3 months now. I called them one day after we found ants in the house. From the first phone call until today, they have been very friendly over the phone and when the service technician comes out to spray. Since then, we have had only a few ants near the house, and even those few seem to be dieing off very quickly. The price is fair for what they provide. We are thinking about adding the lawn control service to our property as well. I would recommend them to anyone who needs pest control service. read more

Horrible... Do not use! Technician was a jerk, they don't communicate about issues. Pest control was decent enough but lawncare was HORRIBLE! The absolute WORST option you can choose for irrigation and 'greenup' aka lawn maintenance service. They are definitely good at selling you, but the ensuing service is just terrible and, on top of that, expensive. I've been using their service for 2 years, have had to constantly call them to have them come back out and address very, very obvious issues (we're talking large dead patches of grass in the lawn, dying hedges, etc) they missed during service, then running off after leaving a bill on my door. In the majority of the cases where I had to chase down a supervisor or manager (literally DAYS), they would finally come out, hummed and hawed, danced around the problem, and left me with the same issues. Had someone come out regarding ants and a roach problem. They stood around, shrugged their shoulders and sprayed a single area and told us they didn't know where they were coming from. Then proceeded to tell the office at the apartment complex that I was 'unprepared' for them to come by after having followed every step on their pre-inspection sheet. This is on top of showing up 15 minutes late. Attempted to call and speak with a manager and was told none were available and 'they probably won't call you back.' I can't say strongly enough that no one should ever use this company if they have real concerns about pests. read more

Massy irrigation services. I have had this service for about a year, and let me say I have had nothing but disappointment. From scheduling a service, and no one is dispatched. From the technician clling and asking what needs fixed, after I left very specific instructions on what needs to be done. Then the technician, failed to complete the repairs. I have called back and asked to speak, with a supervisor or manager to have the sprinkler repaired, but received no call back. I have waited forever on the phone and never get my call answered, having to call back after waiting for 15 mins. They have never done an inspection where they have fixed anything, one time a guy called and said he was coming out but wanted to know if anything was broken. I said I don't think so, but I think that is their job not mine. So not expect anything preventative, also the technicians are not well versed on a round robin system, or a pump driven system. 3 months ago I made the decision to move service from Plant IT Earth, it turned out to be the worst decision I've ever made. The only reason why I decided to move because PIE was not providing shrub and plant beds fertilizing plus weed killer around shrubs. When the sales person came over for estimate, he promised everything that I was looking for the additional fee that came with service. One of my concerns was the high turnover ratios of techs that provide service every month, I was told the tech who will be servicing was voted top tech in the area. Days later when my 1st service began I met the tech Andre, he was very cordial as I walked him around the property and showed him the property lines and my expectations of the service I signed up for, he preceeded to do complete service and did a very good job not missing any areas. Days later I called the company to schedule the aeration, only to find out the salesperson was no longer with the company. I also requested for the 2nd time a phone call or text msg the day prior to service so I can make sure I'm home to monitor their service is completed. The 2nd month service came around and by luck I happen to be home and captured the arrival with my around the property Ring Security. The technician that came was not Andre, it was somebody else taking over the route, I was told Andre is no longer working for the company. I also did not received a call the day prior as previously requested twice. After reviewing my Ring devices (5) I noticed the tech went thru the property in less than 5 mins and moved on. In between the 2nd and 3rd month I noticed lots of brown patches around the property when I mowed the grass they were clearly visible. I called the company to report it and was promised a Mgr visit the next day, that visit never came and 3 days later I called again and also requested the yearly irrigation inspection. The irrigation inspection was horrendous, 2 techs arrived, every part of the inspection was not completed, which includes water pressure check, check for leaks, sprinkler heads. Out of 30 sprinkler heads on the property and 5 zones, only 2 or 3 were checked. It was total waste of an inspection. Couple days later I invested in a $569 hedge trimmer, only to find my hedges were fully covered with aphids and insects similar to baby brown butterflies or moths. I called Massey/Sharon twice over the last month to cancel my service and I must say she makes every possible promise to keep the acct but the promises are false and makes the service experience very stressful. In all visits, not once did I received my requested phone call. The only service that was satisfactory was the yearly aeration, the tech was friendly and ran through the entire property without missing a spot. I cancelled my service yesterday and going back to PIE and I will be doing my own weed control around my plant beds and shrubs. $77 a month vs $50 for PIE is a no brainer which I regret canceling them 3 months ago. Beware of false promises and services not done as per service agreement. Beware of false commitments from the salesperson. In 6yrs my grass has not looked as bad as it is now, with weeds, brown patches. read more

Poor customer service. I was having my irrigation system fixed. Josh Jacobs came by, he was nice and attention to details for a quote . He said he would contact me on when they will schedule a time to fix my system. He said they were a month out. No call from Josh the following week so I called to find the day of the appointment. Now the day of the appointment has come and no one shows up. So I called around 2 pm and they said it my be after 6pm before they may arrive. I was unable to be there at that time so I cancelled and I requested a refund. They do require payment up front. It appears when they take your money the customer service goes out the window. I have used Massey in the past for Irrigation and Pest Control without any issues. I an not sure what is going on with this company. I will now rethink using Massey Services in the future. read more

If I had seen the poor scores Massey had on yelp, I probably would not have hired them. Let me preface this by saying I only have inside pest control, as most of the poor reviews seem to be for lawn service. I had another company for a year, and despite five inside re-treatments (in addition to treating from outside), I constantly had roaches in my kitchen. I switched to Massey, which was like $100 more a year than the other company, but in the past two weeks, I haven't seen a single roach. I had Massey many years ago at another house, and they always kept the bugs away. Are they the cheapest? No, but unlike the cheapest, they get the job done. read more

Too Many Lies - Terrible Service! I had my septic tank and drain fixed and the landscaper added brand new Sod and irrigation system. The Sod was watered properly. 2 months later the grass is almost completely dead. The Massey guy who services my house calls me and realizes they forgot to treat for fungus and chinch bugs. 1st LIE - I called Kevin Campbell, the General Manager. He came to my house to inspect, then came again with another inspector. He called me and said that Massey was responsible and that they would lay new Sod at no cost to me. He asked for a few days to set up the service but no response and nothing happened. 2nd LIE - I calked Massey and found out Kevin was no longer there. The new Manager Charlie answered and we went through the same inspection all over again. He called me back confirming that the process was approved. After 2 confirmations by theGeneral Managers, today, he shows up at my house and tells me that they changed their mind and that they pretty much did not care...you are welcome to change your service provider! This is probably the 1st time I write a review. I personally do not support companies and people with no values and no respect for their clients. Just wanted to share so that you do not go through the same experience. read more
