I hired Massey for both Pest control and Lawn Service. I dropped the Pest control after one year because they could not control the ants on my property. I now use a barrier product from Home Depot that works properly. As for the lawn services - My lawn looks 400 times worse now- after four years of Massey techs coming out every other month and doing the same treatment with seemingly no regard to what is actually happening in my yard. I have huge bare spots and the same weeds are hanging out as have been there for months. They do not EVER shrivel or even attempt to die after treatment. I complained and a "Manager" came out twice so far this year. He promised aeriation grass plugs, a product to boost the soil..... There is a reason they have a 1.4 star review - do not recommend. TRUST THE STARS AND REVIEWS! We signed up after a well-orchestrated sales pitch. As the months went on, the services became shorter and shorter - they would sometimes come for 5 minutes, quickly spray/spread, and then leave, and then charged us the 90$ monthly fee (for 5 minutes of work). Not super impressed with the results, so we cancelled - was then told we had to pay yet another service for both tree/shrub, and lawn because they need '30 days notice' (we cancelled 26 days, not 30) so we were charged. I hired Massey after buying a new house. We had them servicing our yard for 10 months. We got the grass and shrubs package to take care of the weeds. We saw no improvement in our lawn, and actually saw the weeds get worse. It was a complete waste of money for 10 months. Multiple times the technician would come out and not even do our backyard and say they did the backyard. The manager said he would come out with the technician to ensure quality work, however the manager never came out to fix the issues. They had terrible communication and customer service. There was no accountability with their management. I would not recommend this service to anyone in the college park area. We switched services to a new company and have already had better communication and less weeds in our grass. I would NOT RECOMMEND MASSEY. read more

Moved to a new cottage in the Villages November, 22. Contratced Massy to maintain the yard. Paid for a full year of past control, termite treatment, sprinkler adjustments, and lawn service. The whole thing for a year. First six months went fine. Then summer hit, and they stopped cutting my lawn. Only when I requested the sprinklers be adjusted because they could not spray over the uncut grass, that they came out to cut the lawn. Once a month in June, July, August and September, even though they were already paid for weekly service. Massy guarantee of satisfaction seems to be just Massy's satisfaction. read more

Several months ago I booked Massey for the weeds on my lawn. I was told they could get rid of all the weeds on my lawn except for the crab grass. The tech came out 4 times... He was here about 5 to 10 minutes each time. After 4 applications all the weeds were still there. I called and had a manager to come out and look at it. This was 5 weeks ago. The manager that came out said we had uncontrollable weeds. I told him I would like my money back. He said they would contact me the following week. I have called every week for the past 5 weeks since the manager came out to my property with no response from the manager. I also have a contract with Massey for pest control. A lack of integrity and honesty, we signed up for the lawn service back in December 2023, and after six months there was still lots of weed growing, I called and let them know about the weeds, and they sent out a person to treat the weeds which should have been done in the beginning, and they went into my account unauthorized and pulled out a payment for the extra service without letting me know. I decided to cancel the service after seven and half months and they refused to refund the money, they were very defensive and argumentative, and the workers have either been trained or conditioned to be belligerent when confronted with a refund. He conveyed that they were a big company and didn't care about one customer. Terrible! At first they were doing both pest control and lawn pest control. Charging for two different service's. Aren't bugs bugs? Tiny yard. They mix fertilizer in with the pest control granules and put entirely too much on and burned up the yard. I had to re sod the yard. Discontinued that service. Never asked for fertilizer. Had the house checked and it was full of Palmetto bug's! I had to get them to spray inside and they literally spray your bed linens and turned everything yellow! If they are controlling the outside perimeter then how did they get inside? Still have ants inside and outside. The last bill said Ants detected. They're still here. We get here and a big pile of granules left on the front driveway and I swept them up and it took the paint off! They will not take responsibility for anything! Saying the yard was irrigation, No, I saw the guy spreading entirely too much and asked what he was spreading. Bottom line for 50.00 per month you will still have pests! Plus active termite infestation when I have an ongoing termite protection contract with them? Plus scheduling is a week out because I'm a business owner and don't have a wife to sit at home to deal with this. Yes, I'm female and that is sarcasm. When I brought up (to the nice young lady on the phone) their online statement of treating the outside so the bugs don't come in, she just said I'm sorry and carried on with setting an appointment. Resolve Pest Control was great before Massey bought them. Once they took over, the techs never called or text or emailed to let me know they were coming. They would be at my home 5 minutes and then leave. When I called to cancel service, the lady said I was still going to be charged the quarterly $85 because I was already due for that quarter or some bs. On 04/22/23 they gave me a price & written quote to add one sprinkler head in my front yard & add a sprinkler system to my small backyard . I called my pest control company because I received a past due bill from them even though I set up autopay for an annual contract in SEPT 2022. It's April 2023. Have called and called and no answer on either Massey or Insight (my pest control company). My bill is $50.00 even from them. Suddenly, today I see a $100 charge come through from Massey! This company is the absolute worst! We bought a new home and they were the contractor that the builder used for outside termite baits, so we continued the contract with them. In addition, we contracted them for lawncare and pest control. Our lawn is absolutely ruined. So many weeds that we terminated the service and are now in the process of having someone put in lawn plugs (it's expensive) and Massey's attitude was, well, we can't win them all. We have them for pest control. They have been out now 4 times and we still have bugs ... I clean, clean - using bleach clean. The service manager left a message and he speaks very poor English and it was difficult to understand. I called and asked to speak to the Owner and the receptionist said she didn't know how to get a hold of him, because they have thousands of offices! Not believing that for a second. She told me it was pest control and no way to completely rid our home of bugs! We use Massey for our lawn and pest control. It never occurred to me to yelp about them until today when the lawn guy rang the doorbell to let me know he was here and had my newspaper in his hand. They are prompt, courteous and professional. The guys (and 1 gal) who come out are always friendly, even in the middle of the summer when they are sweating their butts off. Our lawn does have some weeds and I think I may have an unrealistically high standard when it comes to the amount of weeds in a yard. I guess in Florida it is inevitable to have some weeds but I must say we have a better looking lawn than 95% of our neighbors. And on the pest side I haven't seen a single bug since we started service with Massey. Their services include treating for weeds and insects, fertilizing grass/shrubs/plants and aerating the soil. We have also used them to resod some areas. Overall very good service at competitive prices. read more

So admittedly I am at fault for this to happen! But I am a small business owner who travels for work full time. I was did not pay my lawn maintenance bill and it went 90 days past due. I did receive a call about a past due balance and an email stating it was urgent they speak to me. Upon reviewing today there was several more emails in my junk. In no email did they say it was for money owing just they need to speak to me. As I said one made it to my email the rest to junk. None of them had the amount owing or a link to pay the bill. As I said I must accept my fault in this but my business has been forced closed and I had to rush home from abroad to the USA. Today a hand delivered letter was M delivered to my home dated March 20. The amount owing was 168$ Massey said I had 7 days to pay the balance or have a lien placed on my home. To clarify a lien on half a million dollar house for 168$? Meanwhile the utility companies have deffered payments and stoped disconnections mortgage companies and auto loan companies the same.... why? Well a global pandemic? But not Massey they need there 168 or they will place a lien on my home. I wonder if they meant today or March 20 when the letter was dated? Who knows?
