I made a catering order with 24 hour notice, and they delivered. Was so happy with the sandwiches and penne vodka (full tray). I highly recommend considering them if you are hosting a small event at your house. They do charge 3 percent extra for credit cards but that has become pretty much the norm for small business. Overall really good sandwiches and yummy bread. Penne vodka is the best I've had in Jersey this far.

Worst looking cutlet in the world

Come on, there's almost no Italian deli that makes a decent sandwich anymore. That cutlet is wet and hasn't been crisp since last week. What the hell? Why doesn't anyone give a damn anymore. All I want is a good sandwich. This is New Jersey, come on!

My homemade lasagne. Everything from Massimo except the ground beef.

it's been almost ten years since I last reviewed Massimo Deli in Kenilworth. I still shop here on a regular basis, and if there is a better Italian deli in the area, I haven't heard about it. They do a very big lunch sandwich business. Actually, I don't like their Italian sandwich rolls, they are very crusty on the outside. Like break your teeth or cut the roof of your mouth crusty. I do, however, love their sliced to order Imported cold cuts. My regular choices include their peppery prosciuttini ham, rich mortadella, aromatic sliced provelone cheese, and fabulous hard salami. They have a very artful way of slicing the cold cuts paper-thin, and at an obtuse angle for maximum flavor. I also love their homemade ricotta, mozzarella, fresh romano cheese, roasted peppers w/garlic in oil, and stuffed olives. Although it's not Italian, they also make a really good potato salad. Their homemade sausage is very good, too, although I actually prefer the Italian sausages at the Union Pork Store, another gem of a place. Of course, Massimo has a large selection of imported packaged foods and artisan dried pastas from Italy, higher quality than anything you'd find in a supermarket. Also canned and jarred delicacies, olive oils and balsamic vinegars, even an assortment of packaged snack cakes from Italy. Massimo is a great food resource if you love to cook Italian food, or just want to pick up some pre-made entrées from their freezer case.

A classic Italian delicatessen. Their sandwiches are outstanding - exactly what you would expect. The Mozzarella Cheese is excellent, I usually get a sandwich that features their cheese.

Will definitely be back here! Authentic Italian deli with everything you'd ever want. I tried a sandwich with very thinly sliced sopressata that is sliced to order, sharp provolone and broccoli rabe. Huge & delicious sandwich! Pasta next!

#21 Massimo Special Sub 6 inch Prosciutto, capicola, salami, sopressata, mozzarella and long hot peppers. You cant go wrong with this one. This is a really good local Italian deli in Kenilworth. I go here all the time because its always fresh and delicious. I have also ordered from their catering menu for special events numerous times and my guests always rave about the food. For catering its free delivery in Kenilworth, and they will even set it all up for you.

Pretty tasty and authentically Italian sandwich. Fresh ingredients separate this sandwich from your everyday Jersey subs.

Mmmmmmm. Closest in quality to my favorite deli in Lyndhurst. Great gourmet specialty store. It is worth giving it a try.

Had the chance to meet "The Boss" Gilda and her son Joe as well as the rest of the very friendly and helpful staff here. We tried a plethora of things so this may take a minute haha. Started off with two stuffed breads - A Reuben as well as a Pepperoni roll. The Reuben had a great flavor and the bread itself was tasty. It was slightly odd in my mind to eat a Reuben without grilled rye, but I enjoyed this. The pepperoni stuffed bread was also good and was even better with the addition of some sauce (they called it gravy and I thought I was in trouble haha). After that we were hit with some delicious Italian items including their house made meatballs, Italian sausage and peppers, and chicken Parmesan. The meatballs were just rated #1 in Central Jersey and #2 in the entire state of NJ at the Pizza Bowl a few months back. I could see why. Very tender, perfectly seasoned, and again that sauce/gravy was killer. To be honest though, I may have enjoyed the sausage even more! I mentioned how I didn't get hit with that typical overwhelming pop from fennel seed and Joe said they make it with ground fennel so the flavor is still there but it's not so in your face. I loved, and I mean loved, this sausage. The chicken parm was also very good but I had a small piece because I knew what was coming next! We finished off by trying two sandwiches that Iorio is well known for. The first was "The Jocelyn" which was a roast beef and Swiss melt on an onion roll, and the second was "The Sloppiest Joe" which was a North NJ staple "sloppy joe" but in epic proportions. The Jocelyn had good flavor and the onion roll was a nice touch and change of pace. The sloppiest Joe is sitting inside the top 3 I've had probably ever. The meats were freshly sliced and piled high, the rye was super fresh, and the Cole slaw had get flavor and added welcomed creaminess to the sandwich. As if there was any doubt at all - Iorio Deli in Roselle Park, NJ - Didn't Suck!
