On the recommendation of our contractor, we contacted Master Appliance to look at our 6 year-old GE washer. Scott came out to look at it and told us it was at the end of its life cycle. If he did try to repair it, he would have to take it back to their shop and the labor/materials would be more than half the cost of a new unit. Master Appliance sells Speed Queens and the cost for the washer/installation/delivery/haulaway was much cheaper than Lowe's or Home Depot to replace our current GE model. Our microwave stopped working and we reached out to Master Appliance for a service call. Marco came the very next day, was cheerful, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We were told that he would arrive between 2 and 4 pm and at 1:55 pm we got a call that he was on his way. The professionalism and respect for our time is SO appreciated. Unfortunately, he suggested that we replace the microwave (not surprising since it was pretty old) but he called the store and had a recommendation on a replacement, quoted a price and even scheduled the install. I am shocked to see how high the rating this business has been receiving. I have been buying few appliances from them and then asked them to come to our new home to measure for many new appliances. Eric who works there and I had friendly conversation and I thought things will go smoothly. WRONG! I asked them to come more than 3 weeks ago for the measurements and then after that. They service what they sell as well as deliver and get everything working properly. Many homes -- old and new -- have issues (let's call them personalities) and the Master Appliance teams are endlessly patient and resourceful. In this case, it was Silas and his partner, installing my new range/oven, hood & refrigerator. In the past, Ken brought a dishwasher to West Salem just before Thanksgiving. Master Appliance has great service. We just had "Joe" out to work on our Speed Queen washing machine. I set the appt with Robbie (very professional and personable). Joe came out on time. Very polite, efficient, work was professional, he knows what he is doing. My husband and I are delighted to have found good people to help us with our appliance service. The price for the service was as we were told it would likely be... and, fair. In this day and age it is a very big blessing. After spending weeks looking at refrigerators, washers and dryers in various "big-box stores" with no knowledgeable sales people (no one even approached us to offer help and when we asked, the person had to look everything up on a computer), and reading multiple negative reviews on the flashy smart refrigerators from Korea, we decided to try a small town store. I saw reviews for Master Appliance on Yelp so we went in there to take a look. What an amazing difference. Not only were we immediately approached by a respectful salesman, he listened to what we needed and pointed out 3 refrigerators that met our needs. He patiently answered our questions and even gave us a black Friday discount on the Frigidaire we picked out. He was so knowledgeable about the washers and dryers that we didn't hesitate to buy a Speed Queen set also. The free delivery was an excellent experience also. They showed up at the scheduled time and donned protective covers on their shoes. They were careful and the installation went quickly and smoothly. I really appreciated the installer's knowledge of the appliances and information on the refrigerator filter change frequency and to empty the first batch of ice after changing filters. He also took the time to explain the washer and dryer controls. It's been a week now and we very happy with the performance of all 3 appliances. read more

One of the few small town appliance places left. Knowledgeable staff, great service! Went in and bought a new Speed Queen washer and dryer set. Didn't try and upsell me on anything. Told me it would be delivered the next day and gave me a time, not a 4-6 hour window like the bing box stores which only peddle junk these days. Installer showed up on time, hauled the old appliances carefully out without beating up doors and trim, and properly installed the new units, making sure they were level on my not so level floors and generally just taking the time to do the job right. Time will tell on the appliances themselves, but I went in purposely with the intent on buying Speed Queen. Do yourself a favor and shop local with folks who aren't peddling junk and who actually care about the customer. read more

I rarely write reviews but I just felt that I had to today. I 100% recommend Master Appliance out of Monmouth to meet your repair needs. They are extremely knowledgeable, punctual, polite, and reasonable. I had five appliances that needed a variety of fixes and attention and not one tripped my repairman up or was a problem. I was blown away by how quickly he knew how to troubleshoot. I will certainly use them if I need to buy anything in the future as well. Good people and great service. read more

This is my first review so please bare with me as I am quite new to this one. I normally wouldn't complain and I tend to let the little things go but I am so unbelievable mad on this one. What caused me to write was on the latest one but I had previous dealing with the company and I wasn't ever satisfied but I believe in giving others a 'benefit of a doubt' and I solely regret trying here again. ------------- My latest and the reason why I am writing this is I needed a new, simple part for my dryer for my broken clothes dryer. I repaired them beforehand and I just needed a new heater element and I would figure that an appliance store could offer an appliance part. Well, I went there to buy the unit and paying $80 was way out of my price range for a simple part but I took the price and I left annoyed. I looked online at "https://www.walmart.com/search/?query=wp8544771&cat_id=0" and I found the very part for less than half of it. I understand the reason, don't agree with it but I understand it though, for the price markup for building cost and what not but to charge so ridiculously much for a simple part is just thievery. -------------- However, in my needing for help on a simple repairjob for my washer as it wouldn't stay on a spin cycle, I hired them to help with a repair and as I tried to help by taking off the back first to save on their time as I was going to be charged the same, either way, the repair guy surprising not only told me that the machine was broken and could not be fixed (the dial had a problem, that is why the spin cycle would randomly shut off and what not...don't exactly believe it but the guy was an awful person and it just gave us a reason to go elsewhere (for a new washer as we truly needed a bigger one anyways.) but during his 'repairjob' on it, he flat out badmouthed my trying to help him by taking off the back, put it back on without my consent and then charged me more for it. ------------- In conclusion as I am sure what I wrote above may be skipped, I am giving this review as their service was awful in multiple times and if I wanted someone to overcharge me for almost no work, I would have hired my toddler...at least he wouldn't annoy me with backtalk and for that reason, I will NEVER go back there and I would rather rip the part off a broken washer at our apartment complex that is being thrown out or even at this point, a landfill, and 'hope' that it worked over spending another dollar with this company. I understand that people need money to live in this world, I don't like it, but I understand this one as well but to be so absolutely greedy without so much as a conscience to back up your lack of morality is just dishearting. I meant to write this review last April when I used their services. My washing machine started releasing water during its spin cycle so we called Master Appliance hoping they could fix it. The gentleman came out a couple of days later. He told me the problem was the water pump had fallen off. He gave me the option of him ordering a new part or him Jimmy-rigging it. Jimmy-rigging it could last one week, or one year. We opted to do that and save for the part. Hoping it'd last a bit. Sadly, it lasted two weeks. He came out again and advised us Samsung no longer made the part for my leas than 2yrs old machine. He Jimmy-rigged it again so I'd have time to buy a new machine. The reason for my 5 stars is because of the excellent customer service. The first visit was only $60. The second visit he didn't charge me for. He also explained a lot about washing machines and which brands he rarely fixes so I could use this info for my unplanned washing machine purchase. I had a washer in need of repair, I called Master Appliance Service on a Friday, the girl answering the phone was the most knowledgeable person I think I've ever talked to, so nice, intelligent and professional, the appointment was scheduled for Thursday, but they called Monday morning and asked if the tech could go ahead and come that Monday afternoon, he showed up precisely when expected, he too was absolutely the nicest, most knowledgeable and professional I'd ever had fix anything, the price was great, the whole experience from start to finish was excellent, it is comforting to know we have such a fantastic appliance repair business in out community. read more

Master is fast, reliable, and gives great advice, even if it doesn't mean selling a new appliance. Our dishwasher stopped working and we were able to have it looked at the same day. The part was ordered the next day (we were seen late in the day) and the part was installed the day after it arrived. The problem was that membrane switch was bad on our approx. 5 year old dishwasher. This was the second repair we'd needed, but we discussed the pros and cons of repairing vs. buying a new one. They help with little extras like leveling out a door that was not closing correctly. Great service! read more
