These guys have been very friendly and helpful both times I've been here. Once was for exhaust repair (haven't had a problem since) and I just recently went back to have my oil changed by them. Prices seem reasonable too. Tips: They don't have coffee in their waiting room but they do have a coke machine. There's also a Millcreek Coffee Roasters across the street. The 7th South and Main Master Muffler installed a Magnaflow on my Forester (shut up, that and a K&N bumped my highway mileage by almost 10%) back in 2007. Earlier this week, the weld at the junction of the muffler and the post-cat exhaust pipe corroded out (lousy salty Utah roads), and my Magnaflow was left dangling by the hanger. Master Muffler was done with the repair in only a couple of hours, and it wasn't particularly expensive (around $100). But while getting the breakdown of my bill from the mechanic, I was charged a fee for bringing in "my own muffler." I explained when I made the appointment Monday, when I dropped the car off Tuesday morning, and when I picked it up Tuesday afternoon that I had purchased the exhaust system there, and that this was just a repair. This apparently didn't register as important information to the employees with whom I dealt. To put it briefly: the downtown Master Muffler could be a 4-star garage. The work they do is speedy and reasonably priced. I don't feel like I was treated dishonestly any of the times I've visited the shop, and perhaps this time I just missed the explanation of what was going on. I couldn't be happier with the speed and service I received from master muffler! I did a blonde move and drove over something that caused my car to sound like I was flying in an airplane . I took it to the Honda dealer they did a quick check told me I had a hole in my muffler and it would cost $400. I called around to a handful of muffler shops but decided to go with master based on the other yelpers. turns out I damaged a pipe and not the muffler and after some discounts i was out the door in less than an hour for 65 bucks. There's a large comfortable lobby with a television and plenty of magazines so it's a fine place to just sit and wait for your repairs to be done. FYI I also stopped over to quality to get an estimate but they told me it would take 20 minutes just to look at my car. It's a super dirty gas station turned garage. They employ a bunch of high school kids that barely speak English and there was no place to wait unless I wanted to sit on a stool at their service desk. read more

Superior service!! I was visiting from out of town, California to be exact, and I had a little accident just up the street from this shop. I had no idea what I was dealing with as far as damage to my vehicle but I knew I had to get it checked out and fixed ASAP as I was traveling in business and had to drive back the next evening to California. I had no money to pay either. Well the manager, Bruce was so easy to work with. Bruce was full on slots but he did everything he could to get me back on the road. From not knowing if the car would be fixed by the time I had to be on the road because they were booked up, to not knowing how I was going to pay for the unknown damage at that point, Bruce have me the tools necessary to pay by referring me to a finance company they work with to get me on the spot cash to repair to Bruce delivering my vehicle fully repaired and back on the road that very same day, end of the day! I was shocked it was able to be fit in amongst the many customers he already had in the shop but extremely grateful for his speedy service! What started out as a nightmare for someone like me from out of town, ended up not being so bad because Bruce made the inconvenient, convenient and fast. When I tried to go through some deep snow, my exhaust system separated between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter on my old Audi wagon. It's just a press fit, but these guys looked at it and said I needed to buy a whole new catalytic converter. Parts plus labor well over $500 (I didn't even ask). I went down the street to Quality muffler and they welded it for me for $80. read more

Went in on a lunch break to get an emissions test done on my car mid-month. Spoke with the manager and he quickly told me it would be a two hour wait, but once he knew it was just emissions rather than both safety and emissions, he checked into the schedule (he told me he had a few guys out sick, injured, much like a football team) and that's why it was a bit slower this day. Long story short, he got my car in and despite taking the majority of my lunch break, got the job done with my in-the-mail coupon and the manager was quite friendly and helpful. As my car approaches the "out of OEM warranty" period soon, I'll definitely consider bringing my car back here for services if it's not something I'm learning how to maintain on my own. read more

Wr are very disappointed and activated that after going here for the past 20 years of service and this happens to us and MM did not want to make it right with us as long time customers ..... We were in last April(2019) to change out an alternator and MM put in a refurbished part .After we paid for it and went home the battery light started to flicker at various times. We returned after a couple of days and MM found nothing wrong.They did not bother to dig back into it just tested the alternator and found it was fine. Battery light still flickered through the next months .No rhyme or reason for it.We did take it to Ford just this month (Feb awwww2020) and sure enough the alternator was bad. We kept the refurbished alternator and went back to MM hoping to get a refund for the part and was told that is not how the warranty is structured even after telling them we brought it back a couple of days after it was put in and was told it was fine (we were still in the 12 month period )but since the part was no longer in the vehicle there was nothing they could do for us so we are out money for a refurbished POS alternator we have no use for. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO MM FOR ANY SERVICE!!! VERY DISATTISFFIED CUSTOMER!! FOLKS GO TO YOUR VEHICLES DEALERSHIPS THEY WILL TREAT YOU RIGHT!! read more
