My review is long overdue for William and his company, he was the first contractor I've had with home warranty that actually knew what he was doing and didn't try to low ball me or come up with an excuse to upsell me on more things I didn't need with my pool pump. I have home warranty for a while, and not going to lie, they don't always send the best contractor to your home. William was the 2nd contractor I had come to my home to repair my pool pump. The first one First American sent refused to do the service unless I removed a wall so they could have better access. The wall itself is only 4ft tall and hid the pool pump and filter. They were trying to get out of the service by denying my pool pump, it wasn't until i called my home warranty and after many calls they agreed i needed a 2nd opinion. William was the 2nd opinion and man I wish i had gotten him first. William was straight up honest and had no issues getting around the wall the other company wanted me to remove. In fact, once he confirmed the pool motor was bad and submitted it to home warranty. He followed up with me and 4 days later my pool pump was fixed and i was up and running again. I appreciated William being straightforward with me and getting back to me in a timely manner. Definitely give him a try. read more

William from Master Care does not even provide the homeowners the courtesy of discussing his findings and did not respond to multiple texts/calls/messages. Further his report on the "issue" for my pool pump was the pump was run dry---DUH this is a consequence of the underlying issue which is the pump failing to prime due to a vacuum leak. His erroneous report resulted in my claim being denied. It's really unfortunate that this is another dodgy pool care company making money off taking in home warranty claim $$ without being honest and spending the time to actually fix the problem. Was referred to this business by my home warranty plan. By the looks of these reviews, I was a bit nervous at first. However, Will surpassed my expectations and was very easy to work with. He was communicative, on time and patient to answer all of my questions regarding the issue with my pool pump and repairs needed. I did not need to be home during the process of him evaluating the issue and fixing it from start to finish. He made sure to inform me each step of the way and was timely in arriving to each appointments made. I was surprised by how quick he was able to come the next day to take a look at the problem and to return to fix it. I put in a claim through the home warranty company for leaking filter equipment. The tech came to my door, I briefly explained the issue, he told me he'd meet me out back to take a look. I went to my pool in the backyard to meet him and he never came. I sat out and waited for 30 minutes until I got a call from Fidelity Home Warranty saying they denied the claim. They denied the claim without him even checking out the equipment. I guess since it was raining, he didn't want to take the time to even look at it. So service call fee wasted, my time wasted since I took the morning off of work to be available. I paid the home warranty service fee, I'm sure he was paid by the home warranty company to come out and knock on my door. Can I give less than one star?! read more

William is the WORST pool person I've ever encountered and the LEAST knowledgeable. He arrived at our home as a result of a Home Warranty contract. Instead of professionally handling the issue with our pool, he instead condescendingly talked down to us, sarcastically dismissing our problems with our system, and abruptly left without so much as even attempting to repair it. It appears that the only thing this guy wants is a quick buck with the warranty company and a penchant for filing bogus reports, which he did in order to dismiss the service request and obtain the service fee from the warranty company without having to actually facilitate repairs. We contacted another pool company and the Owner himself with over 40 years of experience stated in detail the sheer erroneous nature of William's bogus report. The owner couldn't believe at the level of ignorance William displayed, given that the opinion he gave pertained to an older, obsolete pool system from another manufacturer and not to the current model we had, which came from a more dependable and prominent manufacturer. If I could rate this business zero stars I would. This has got to be the worst pool tech out there. He was sent to my house by the home warranty company to fix the same leaking pipe to my pump 3 times. This last time the insurance company refused to approve my repair based on Williams bogus explanation of why this issue keeps reoccurring. He stated that I had to have let my pump run dry in order for this issue to continue to reoccur. He failed to advise the home warranty that I have a Pentair Inteliflo pump that is designed to automatically shut off if it runs dry. What happened to honest people taking pride in their work. Look elsewhere for your pool issues because if you don't, you will be after William comes out. read more

Instead of repairing the Pool Heater, he submitted a bogus report to the warranty company that parts were missing and equipment needed service. William and his company is just looking for easy money by signing up for warranty companies and not performing any service, they are just interested in collecting $75 service fee or forcing homeowners to pay out of pocket. William was assigned to my repair from First American home warranty. I work for a pool company but since we have home warranty we used their service to see if they would fix our equipment that broke down. Williams assessment was that our circuit board was bad and needed to be replaced. Turns out this is classified as a management system and wasn't covered under our warranty contract. William told us it would be $575 for a new board. I spoke to people from my company that do repairs and it turns out that our circuit board wasn't bad at all. I changed out a fuse and was walked through the repair by my buddy. So he determined that my actuator valve was bad. Replaced that and everything is back up and running. I wouldn't recommend Master Care pools or William for any kind of repairs! $575 for a new board I didn't even need. Terrible... read more

This "company" is a scam - William was sent by the home warranty with the distinct purpose of denying coverage for extremely vague and bogus reasons, and then refusing to return any calls/text messages. My advice is to stay away as far as possible, and request a different provider if your home warranty suggests this crook. Wish I could give zero or negative stars. read more

The worst!!! Be prepared to get a second opinion. William writes his bogus reports to collect his $75 and screws over the homeowners like everyone else mentioned here and ghosts you. He is very responsive to come over and collect your money, then he leaves abruptly and won't respond to texts, calls, vm etc for an explanation. Thankfully my pool guy sent out his own technician to assess the situation, we convinced the insurance to send out a new inspector. Sometimes you just happen upon a great service provider. And you know them when you see them. My home warranty insurance company sucks. They always try to wriggle out of covering anything, and they always send substandard technicians who can barely speak English. And then we had a pool problem and they sent Master Care. I cannot tell you what a breath of fresh air it has been dealing with this company. I worked with William; he was prompt and conscientious, and he took the time to explain what the problem was in plain English. No, my warranty didn't cover the repair, and yes, it is in the fine print and no, it's not Master Care's fault at all. The issues I have with First American Home Warranty (and there are many) are not his fault, and I can't expect him to repair something for free that they will not reimburse him for. Because he has provided such excellent service and has communicated so well (including telling me how I can avoid the repair entirely by manually manipulating my remote system), I am not only choosing to have him effect the repairs to the system this time around, but I will be using this company (independent of First American) in the future. To those of you who have reviewed this company poorly because you are upset with your warranty company, you should direct your ire where it belongs - on the company who won't pay the contractor to do the repair. Don't blame the contractor because of the fine print in an agreement you have with someone else. I would not hesitate to recommend Master Care to anyone needing pool or spa services. My pool heater stopped working and showed an error message. I put in a claim through my home warranty company. I received a text within a day of placing the claim to set up service. William came out the next day. He diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and returned to install it a few days later. Problem solved. My warranty covered the repair. The ABSOLUTE worst service on Earth. This guy managed to turn my pool green for the 3 week delay my pool filter and plumbing were not working. No updates, does not answer phone and tells lies to the home warranty company. Update to a blower fix 8 weeks later- he blew my circuit breaker to the entire side of my house which includes wifi, fridge, cameras, etc. Totally denied it and thankfully Fidelity sent out someone to fix at no cost but still managed to lie again saying it was my jets and not my blower which is above ground and totally inoperable. They also didn't even tell us what was wrong with our pool. They showed up after their scheduled four hour window. They left pipe shaving all over my pool and the part they were supposed to replace seemed to be have just been tossed into the pool. I was shocked at how dirty and unprofessional this company was. They were supposed to come back and deal with the original issue which they didn't even address. Terrible service: I did not choose this company, my insurance did. And I am looking into ways of changing it to another. First visit - The person that came the first time (William), came 20 min passed the time frame I was given. Came in a hurry and explained to me very harshly that a lot of things were not covered. Finally listened to me about the issue and said "I have to report this and come back to you". And left in a hurry again. Second visit (when the motor gave up and broke down) - He (William again) came in the window frame. He asked me if I was the maid (I guess due to my accent). I said I was the home owner. He said there was an access issue and he could not change the motor for free as he normally would. Took pictures and told me his plumber would charge me under $300 for the work needed. He repeated this amount several times. He even asked me if I understood him (my English level is native). When asked about the time it would take for them to come and fix it, his exact words were "I don't know because whatever girl needs to process it". One week passed. I called the insurance company, he submitted the report just the day before my phone call. I had to contact him back to book the job. We called him and he said the plumber was gonna charge us $1,200.00. A total scam!!! We bought from another company a motor of the same size that, including the installation, costed $485.00. No access issues and no extra plumbing work needed. He is unprofessional, sexist, racist and a total scam. read more

One of my worst experiences ever has been with this company. He came to my house to check on my spa and diagnosed the problem completely incorrect and I tried to call them 4 times, yet he never answered my phone calls. There was a negative amount of cooperation and they did not seem to bother or care to help fix this problem or even pick up the phone. Absolutely terrible. Was referred to use these unprofessional, unprepared, clueless guys from First American. The older man showed up and had no idea what he was talking about and didn't understand the mechanics of my spa heater. He had a really bad attitude and tried to convince me to pay him an extra $40 on the side so he could clean out spider webs. Seriously? I cleaned them out myself in a matter of 30 seconds and they had nothing to do with the heater not working. I had to tell the guy to leave my house and never return. Getting service for my spa through the home warranty service has been very hit and miss. Many of the AHS service providers have a 1 star Yelp rating. Master care Pool had no listing so I was concerned. Not to worry the service tech (Luke) arrived on time and quickly diagnosed my problem with my heater. He replaced a part and while waiting for the water to heat up he noticed that the filter had an air leak. He replaced the o-ring and fixed this also. I just paid the $100 service fee - no hassles with coverage issues. read more

Wow everyone is right about this company ! After they left the power would not work in 2 bedrooms no return call from office after 5 calls then text the tech he said to stop SPAM his phone wow! They lied to ins company said the reason my heater was leaking at a seam from cooper pipes was due to rats with no chew marks nothing but some rat poop at the bottom of heater which had nothing to do with the leak so my claim was denied they are sent out to find a issue so ins wont pay claim. The tech never mentioned anything about rats in fact told us the heater will be replaced and possibly the filter. Why wouldn't he tell us about the rats when he was there because he knew it was a lie but submitted pictures to ins com of area where it wasn't even leaking ! So many other issues also just don't trust this co especially if first american sends them out. This contractor is extremely dishonest. First American Home warranty sent them for a "second opinion" on my pool heater which had been "repaired" more than 5 times by a different 1st american contractor and still didn't work. Their technican James came out and told me the problem was a bad seal inside the unit that was causing heat to leak out and overheat the system. I thought to myself, "great, we've finally found the problem!". Then First American calls back and tells me James reported to them that the heater wasn't working because there was a missing screw that holds the plastic over on the heater, and since the warranty doesn't cover missing parts, claim denied. The missing screw obviously had nothing to do with the operation of the unit, and James knew that. He never mentioned the screw when he was at my house. On top of that, the screw wasn't missing, it was laying on top of the heater because the previous contractor 1st american sent to "repair" the heater forgot to put it back in. I called 1st american back and managed the get them to reinstate my claim and send another contractor who again made 5 attempts to repair my heater. Then 1st American sent James from MasterCare back to my house for yet another second opinion. This time James told me the main control board of the heater needed to be replaced. I explained to him that 1st american had replaced that part 3 times already over the past couple months and it was not the cause of the problem. He then agreed with me that the heater should be replaced, but told me 1st american would never approve a replacement and would only continue their repair attempts. He said the best option for me is to agree to cash out on the repair costs for yet another control board replacement, and take the small check I get to offset a fraction of the cost of buying a new heater myself. James told me he would put in a request for a cash out on the control board repair and 1st american would call me back shortly. Today 1st american called and told me the claim is denied because James told them the unit needed to be cleaned, and this was the source of the problem. That's a total lie and at no point did James tell me that. The unit doesn't turn on. That has nothing to do with cleaning, and on top of that, it was professionally cleaned out by the last contractor they sent. I don't know why Master Care feels so compelled to make up ridiculous lies that will allow the home warranty company to deny my claim. This is not coming from 1st american, none of the other contractors they have sent have done this sort of crap. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

If your home warranty company assigns them to your claim, make them select another provider. They will do as little as possible, diagnose in a way that issue falls outside of home warranty responsibility and then fail to return your calls when you have questions. They took my home warranty payment, left me with an inoperable heater and denied further repair by home warranty. read more

I'm not sure who these reviewers were dealing with, but I had an amazing experience with this company. I had a problem with my pool system, so I called my home warranty up and they immediately had Master Care Pool and Spa called me up to schedule a next day appointment. Luke came out and inspect the problem. He was professional and took his time to explain to us what the problem was. He was super helpful. He told us the parts will be replaced and he will be back in 2 days to fix. Our pool is now up and running and I can't thank Luke and Mater Care Pool and Spa enough. I agree with the prior review that this company is a hit and miss. This company serviced for First American Home Warranty. The guy came out was James. He replaced my motor with and old rebuilt one. He didn't even know that the impeller did not work. My pool guy has to tell me and I had relayed the message. He's an old fart that has an attitude problem. I feel he's incompetent. He then gave me back my old motor and stated something stuck in it. I told him that the water diverter did not work at the same time. He said that was unrelated to the motor. I told him it broke down at the same time. He refused to diagnosed. I had to call HW again. Again, James came out, I was dissappointed that they sent him again. I explained to them that I was not able to put it Pool to Pool. When I did this function, it sucked water out of my spa. I was hoping that they sent someone else but when I saw his face, I knew the problem would have not resolved. After an hour, he called me out and asked me if I have a few minutes and I told him I have 5 because I had to go pick up my kids. He said forget it, just go pick up the kids and headed out of my house. I told him I had 5 minutes and why didn't he tell me what's going on. He told me to put on Spa return and Pool suction and told me that there's nothing wrong with it. He's incompetent. A pool should have several options to divert water, not just returning the water to the spa only. I gave his service 2 stars for fixing the motor but they didn't know the problem until my pool guy gave second opinion. They could not do anything about the water walve. I got second opinion from HW, they sent another contractor out and the suction walve was fixed. It showed that the contractor from Master Pool is incompetion or lazy. read more

If you are familiar with this company, it's probably through your home warranty service. My experience with Master Care Pool and Spa Service was less than marginal. I was referred by my home warranty company to repair an issue I had with my spa. The issue turned out to be not covered by my warranty, but I was willing to pay Master Care Pool and Spa Service to complete the job. Unfortunately they never returned my call. I have found that the contractors that are usually referred by home warranty companies are average at best and most lack customer service skills. In my opinion, Master Care Pool and Spa Service supports my theory. There are many other companies that will return phone calls. read more

We got "assigned" them through our home warranty and spent about 30 seconds looking at the issue and blamed it on our PET... with ZERO evidence. ZERO.
