Very please with the personal & professional service I rec'd from Mr. McMasters on my inspection for a potential property.

We meet with David McMaster's from Master Home Inspectors in mid-November 2023 for an estimate for a vacant three bedroom rental unit remodel. The estimate came in way over our budget; however David assured us that the work would be high quality, and that he wanted to take pictures of the finished work to show future clients. We decided to go with him. David and his assistant finished up in mid January2024. The work was not quality at all, David really dropped the ball with this job. We definitely would not refer David McMaster's for any work. The areas that are sub-par at best are the new doors, new glass block window, hard wood flooring, and all of the paint work. We also had complaints from the tenants about the big mess that was made and not cleaned up, transporting debris from the unit to the garbage cans. If considering hiring this company, please ask David about the Exchange St, remodel. We are still waiting on him to return the keys. read more

My redfin realtor Lamar Austin referred me to David and I found the experience to be smooth, convenient, and educational. David was responsive when I first called him to introduce myself. He was also prompt and flexible when I asked that we start the inspection 30minutes earlier. He also did a very thorough inspection and was able to explain what was needed in laymen terms. Learning that he actually started out building custom homes as the basis for his knowledge was reassuring. And also learning how he got started in the home inspection business and grew into becoming an entrepreneur was intriguing. I appreciated how forthright he was about how he was initially trained. Even more importantly, I could tell he was working on the report the very next day and got it to me by lunch. It was a less than 24 hour turnaround. And, I liked that the format of the report was organized by areas of the home but then also included a full summary at the end. This initial experience definitely made me feel comfortable referring him as well as open to working with him again should the need arise. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Please stay away from this incompetent hack. First sign of trouble was his 30 minute conversation with the radon tester of how they could better their business and collaborate. Fine, it's part of the trade, but do so on your own time. Second, he broke the water line to the master toilet causing a pool of water and the need to replace the line. Third, he falsified two items on the report that he did not test. Fourth, he then admitted he lied about testing for carbon monoxide and said his meter was broken. The inspection took over 4.5 hours and well over 1/3 of the time was his ham handed attempt to drum up business and tell creepy stories. Yes, he said he liked our dog so much he wanted walk up to our fence and steal him. Stay away. read more

Incompetent. This guy inspected a house I was selling and cited a missing GFCI. I called an electrician out that confirmed that it already had a GFCI. Meanwhile, I paid for the electrician to correct his work. This guy is worthless. read more

I am a FAN for life!! My experience with David McMasters has been nothing short of AMAZING. Our first encounter was life saving. My first potential purchase. Despite my rose-colored glasses that matched my outfit, he told the truth and did it with pride and professionalism. Our first meeting I was greeted with a smile and a hardy handshake. From beginning to end everything was explained plainly. David was very thorough and took pictures to explain the who, what, when, where and why of my potential purchase. I had a million questions and he answered them all. Our second encounter was just as amazing. Again, same smile and excellent service. He was very timely and even stayed late with me when my inspection was cancelled twice and twice he was there ready, willing and able to complete his job no questions asked. He thoroughly answered any questions we had about the home in great detail and without even seeming slightly bothered. It was obvious that this man took pride in his job. We worked with David at Master Home Inspectors to inspect a prospective home purchase and all I can say is WOW! This was not my first home purchase and David was way more thorough and thoughtful than my last inspector. Not only was he thorough, he patiently explained everything, answered questions, offered homeowner tips etc..AND had a fun attitude! In fact, my parents, who were also present, said that this was the best inspection they'd ever seen. Also, my fiance and I have decided that we would like David to inspect our new home every few years to ensure we are proactive with any necessary repairs. Master Home Inspector Company was recommended by my realtor. We were purchasing a HUD home and had a deadline as to when we could complete a private inspection. We contacted several companies on a Wednesday in hopes of getting it completed that day or the next. We found a few that could complete it on that Friday but that would have been too late. We contacted David Mcmasters from master home inspector co. and he said he could do it and have the report completed the same day. David came on Wednesday and did the inspection. Unfortunately we did not get the report on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. After calling David repeatedly he sent a report late Saturday night, unfortunately it was of the WRONG HOME! Then I sent David an email requesting a refund and stating he missed the deadline. It was the next Sunday morning that I received the report. Long story short David offered a partial refund if we signed a waiver of claim and didn't tell of our experience with his company. As you can see no such waiver was signed, no refund for us, and my complaint was labeled as griping. read more
