The Inspection I had with Nick was eye opening. I knew there would be things to fix but he was pointing out things that I had no idea about and things that will come in the future. He provided so much information and education on what to fix and gave rough estimates on how much things would/should costs to repair. I wish I could take him with me every time I view a home. The inspection definitely opened my eyes on what to look for when viewing a property and shopping around. He was on the roof looking for any signs of leaking, crawling around in the crawl spaces looking for cracks and any signs of leaking or damage. Testing all outlets and lights and appliances. He took a close look at everything and let us know what works and what does not work and let us know what could go out at any time. When looking at the AC and Heat he tested both and the AC is working but he let us know the unit is old and could go at any time. He did the same for the furnace. The Furnace looked fine to me but he let us know it was very old and did not work. Great information to have before Jack Frost comes to town. I will definitely contact Nick again to check out our property after repairs are done and with any future home we purchase. As far as professionalism. I arrived early because I don't like to keep people waiting and when I arrived Nick was already there and already starting on the outside which was immediately a plus for me especially since I set up the inspection only earlier in the week. He provided information on what he found going on outside the property and the type of maintenance I will have to do as time goes on and what I would be able to do myself and what I should call a professional about. He made what he does look easy but with the amount of information he provided, it is obvious there is so much to know and I can only imagine how much more there could only be if the property Is in bad shape. We contacted two other home inspectors and Nick gave us the best quote. My realtor worked with him also before and said he does great work and really knows his stuff so that plus the best price overall I feel I made a great choice with choosing MVP Home Inspections. If all does not go well with the repairs I want done with the property I am trying to purchase I will for sure contact him for future inspections and refer him to anyone I know looking to purchase a home and needs an inspection. I'm not sure the situation with the below reviewer but I don't feel like any information was left out with my inspection. Everything that is working and old with possible future problems I was notified about. Problems that are not there but will/may happen in the future, I was notified about. Everything down to water pressure or the hot/cold being installed opposite I was notified about. Every outlet tested etc. Also provided that same night was the inspection report. Keep in mind, my inspection was done at 3pm, on a Sunday and it lasts a couple hours and I still received my report the same day. Not sure how Yelp works but if you can check my profile, I don't leave many reviews. I have to receive some GREAT service to take time a write a review. Normally i do not go out writing reviews, but want to make people aware. Hired Nick after being recommended from my realtor. On the day of inspection he had already started the inspection when i arrived at 10am (this was the set time for inspection) and had already tested Air conditioning unit which turned out not to be functional after i close and moved in the house, not to mentioned he tested washing machine and dryers which seems new to him, they turned out to be not functional as well. As per Nick, the machine was trying to detect clothes and same with the dryer. This was not the case when i called out Sears to come out and look at it (charged me $500 for washer and dryer), they ran it empty without any clothes, this shows his knowledge and skills when he tells they power on correctly but just need clothes. Turns out the water drainage pump was blocked and dryer's drum would not turn. I had to pay $150 for AC tech to come out and just to look and tell me what is wrong, from which a licensed tech told this AC unit could not have been working in last 1 month, i could also tell from the fact that it had so much rubbish in there fallen from trees etc. When i called Nick, his response oh it's a electrical equipment anything could happen after i walk out, SCAM. I did not just believe the tech, my new neighbors also informed me after moving in that this Air Conditioning unit stopped working from the time when the previous owner lived there. So just want to put it out there for people who think he's got the skills, not sure if it was planned with my realtor to get me into buying the home but whatever it was God knows, It ended up costing me $3500 to replace the A/C unit which was costing me more to fix by the way and $500 for washing machine and dryer for which as per his expertise it just needed to have clothes put in there. I would not recommend him, The whole point of the inspection is that the inspector brings to my attention what my naked eye cannot see. Here i wish i would not have believed his advise and saved my $4k.
