This is a great addition to the ever-growing "donut scene" in RI. While places like PVD and Knead try to "reinvent the wheel" with their overpriced, 2lb donuts - which are dry and devoid of flavor - Master has successfully brought a much welcomed and delicious take on my favorite breakfast snack. While it's true that they need to work on their systems and procedures, the same can be said for nearly any new business. I don't get why people find it completely acceptable for one of the trendy places to be out of donuts before noon - but this seemingly mom and pop establishment gets crucified for it. Great donuts. Excellent donuts. The bun with the hot dog in it was great. But the Thai tea I will really pass on next time. The cashier was clearly in a hurry that day or just didn't put any care into what she was making because all she did was put powder in a blender with some ice and blended it and when I drank it it still had powder granules in it. The service also could be something left to be desired. I found the woman who served me that day a bit rushed a bit arrogant. When I bought just a Thai tea with a credit card she pointed to the sign in front of the credit card machine saying the minimum was $5.00 so I had to add the bun with the hot dog in it.. but I thought the way she gestured to it was a little rude. I'm willing to try them again and hope to revise my review to one more positive. read more

All I can say is...WOW!! I stopped by a few Saturdays ago on my way to work and walked into the most fabulous display of donuts that I've ever seen. The glazed chocolate cake donut I ordered had the texture and taste of an actual chocolate cake and was the best that I've ever had. I normally gravitate to cake donuts but the bread (raised) selections here look so scrumptious that I'm going to have one the next time I go in. The prices are fantastic and are not only competitive with the chains, they are even lower than some. If Master Homemade Donuts wasn't on the other side of town from me I'd be in there all the time. Heck, maybe I'll just start leaving home a little earlier in the morning. :-) I was a big fan of the other businesses that occupied this building and it is nice that I am able to be a fan of the newest one. PS - In another review someone complained about the donuts being overly greasy. I didn't find them that way but as a donut connoisseur I know that a little grease is one of the signs of a freshly made donut. And these were definitely fresh. read more

Finally, a donut shop close to work! I went there for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The donuts were fantastic and were enjoyed by all at work. The coffee is great as well! Walking in this place can be deceiving but it truly is a hidden gem. The name of the place says it all and what more could you ask for they make all of their donuts from scratch. They are regularly brought out throughout the morning. Unlike some of the other donut shops they focus on the classic donuts and doing them well from glazed and frosted to powdered and filled, I have not found one I do not like. I've been coming here for several months now when I'm in the area for a doctor's appointment and this place is worth the stop! To mention 2 of my favorites , the glazed donuts are light and airy, and have the perfect balanced amount of glaze. We'll it's Master doughnuts, and first and foremost a doughnut shop, but they do advertise and sell breakfast sandwiches. They just don't understand the concept of cooking their eggs as asked. I made three attempts to get the egg over easy, it never happens. Additional pleading and emphazing the over easy part, while acknowledged, is still never accomplished. Too bad, they're a nice bunch, but maybe they should have a disclaimer on their breakfast sandwiches: 'Even though we say we will cook your eggs over easy, we will not' read more

Just tried this place recently. A customer brought in a dozen to my work for us and they were excellent. A variety of styles and flavors and the consistency of the donuts are soft moist yet light and not feeling like you ate a lead weight afterwards. I would have to say that they're better than Allie's. So much that customers that also tried some that day, have been coming in still talking about how good the donuts were and most have already gone to get more. We went through the drive thru so I have no basis to make an opinion on the interior but the customer service we received was adequate. I'm not a donut fan but I would go here everyday for a sweet treat if I could. Their donuts are light and fluffy and not overly sweetened. They don't have crazy toppings like Knead or PVDonuts but I'm okay with that. They also have cake donuts that are donuts but "cakier" (taste more like a cake), if that makes sense. You just have to try it. Even their donut holes are delicious. They make them fresh everyday at the shop so that's a bonus and their prices are better than Dunkins. Came the day of the grand opening! The donuts were so soft and delicious! They kept coming out with new batches from the oven so it was very fresh. I had the maple coconut donut which tasted very good. I will definitely be here a lot and I'm excited to try other things from the menu. This is my first time going to this new donut shop, I've heard good news about this place, I tried the regular donut with pink sprinkles and pink frosting, it was nice and soft and fresh, little bit cheaper than Dunkin Donuts, the only problem I have is that there's a $0.15 fee if spend under $5.00 to a debit card. Based on recent circumstances with my prior "place of choice," it is clear that I need to move my corporate gifts/Box of donuts/event gifts to a new supplier. I visited the donut shop for the first time today. I am impressed on The obvious care and investment into their location including signage, cleanliness and display of product along with overall satisfaction and respect to the product. The donuts are light, (crispy just where they need to be) and not oily/heavy. Sort of a mix of Krispy Kreme meets a more traditional RI doughnut. Very impressed, five stars. Very good- you won't find anything like those 5 pound "gourmet" monsters, stuffed plump with a sweet cream butter reduction and topped with organically sourced vegan candy corn crumbles under a blanket of a cereal milk Demi-glacé...you won't find those here.
