Been watching this "lawn maintenance " work on our condos for the past week and they're just milking the HOA's money. Literally cut down a couple branches and then stand around for longer. We have like 8 palm trees to trim and cut and they have been milking the crap put of this job. Old maintenance would be done in 1 day. We're going on day 3 or 4 now? What a breath of fresh air to have a company that does what it says it's going to do, when they say they will do it and how they say they will do it! We are remodeling our pool/yard and Master Landscape is the only contractor that followed through and went above and beyond on our project. They are dependable and showed up every time they were scheduled and their communication is A+. We've had so many compliments on the quality of the plants and trees (everything is thriving and looks healthy), as well as their designer eye with how they placed the plants. The lights were installed to perfectly highlight our new landscaping. The lights and irrigation are on a timer so I don't have to ever worry about it. Well it's been close to four months. And there is a new supervisor in town. His name is Joe and immediately when there was a problem originally he came to my door and introduced him self. Grass is dying and edging is not swept up. I know one neighbor has put in his own beautiful lawn and mows it himself. I'm not sure what was done yesterday but it looks like everyone has a dead lawn. My plants up the walkway are growing across the walkway. I'm not a gardener so I don't know how to trim them back without making them look like they've had a bad haircut. I'm not proud of the front of my house. I was debating getting my own private gardener which would be ashame seeing we pay a lot in monthly HOA fees. Was there a change of ownership? Horrible service. Unprofessional, workers are not reliable. They do not actually work. When they do, it is a poor job at best.

Hi Alisha; Our gardener did not walk off the job. Our property manager suggested we go with you so we could save $30.00 a month. You get what you pay for. We are now back with our previous gardener. He said it will take three guys, six hours to pull all the weeds you left behind. read more

I've been an HOA Property Manager in Orange County for 18+ years and have been doing business with Master Landscape & Maintenance for over fifteen years. They're currently on six of my accounts, which include large condominium and single family home projects, parks, slopes, turf, and planters. I am very selective with the vendors I choose to work with, and Mr. Whitecotton, the owner, and his crew are knowledgeable, trustworthy, professional, and are very competitive with their pricing. Their staff includes a Certified Arborist, Certified Irrigation Auditor, and Licensed Qualified Pest Control Applicator. All of these specialty designations are often overlooked when "shopping" for landscape services - but are invaluable when they're needed; especially with constantly changing laws and the CA drought situation. Mr. Whitecotton is in regular contact with the Water Districts to stay on top of allowed water allocations, new irrigation technology, limitations with soil health due to the mandated use of reclaimed water, etc. Mr. Whitecotton and his crew recently worked with a Landscape Designer to prepare an extensive Association-wide turf renovation project in a high-end community, using drought tolerant plants, boulders, and irrigation system conversions that not only brought the landscaping into compliance with the local water district (IRWD), but improved the visual appeal of the common areas, and garnered much praise from the residents! In the same community, Mr. Whitecotton has been working with the City and the Association to be at the cutting-edge of the use of non-toxic pest/weed control options. Their general maintenance crew wears uniforms, are conscientious to make sure they clean up cuttings and grass, and are respectful to others. They are adaptable with their processes; one community outlaws blowers - no problem! They are pro-natural pruning and not hedging plants to look unnatural. If they see something in the field that's not within their scope, they bring it to attention; I always have confidence that they're my "eyes and ears," day-to-day. They also do concrete, other hardscape options, pressure washing, janitorial service, and I'm sure there's more... I can't say enough about how much I love this company, and ALWAYS recommend them to other managers and friends. Our landscapers here at La Cuesta have gotten so bad over the last year. They don't finish the job they have tore up the grass. The landscaping is done poorly. And when you approach the president Robert he can be rude. Our HOA Association Gillard property management seems to back them. As homeowners they are our biggest cost for HOA.Many homeowners are upset and complaining so it's time to put some on his reviews up about them to hold them accountable read more

Who ever answer the phones here does has poor Customer Services. Wanted name and number but did not inform me I had to leave a message. I asked when a better time would be to call back where I got such a flippant reply. Any time you want. As I was speaking, the person on the other end kept saying my name over and over again.......... Who interrupts and over talks a potential customer? And this was a very high recommendation. To bad another person is leaving his bottom line up to someone else who does not know who is calling and what kind of landscaping contracts you have to over............ Team of 2 showed up for tree removal of 4 tall evergreens. Both of those guys worked so hard but were able to trim and remove them all. They were very conscientious, removing all debris and tidying up before they left, after 6 hours of grueling work. I highly recommend this firm. Thanks for your efforts. read more

As president of the board, I have been able to speak to our project manager Javier when we have a special request. They help keep our costs down by giving options for repairs to our sprinklers systems and guarantees on flowers and small plants. I hired Master Landscape and Maintenance for our HOA in Mission Viejo. They are extremely reliable and their work is top notch

They claim to service large companies, like Disneyland, County of Orange, City of Irvine, City of Corona, etc. etc, however, I would double check before considering to hire them. The little customers, who have no say in who does the maintenance in an apartment area, are spat on. The President, Robert Whitecotton is very rude. He can't/won't look you in the eye while talking to you, and his employees are very rude as well. He flat out told me that his employees are told not to talk to customers. They are to say "No habla ingles" and hand the customer Robert's business card, He does not claim to be president on his card, and will give you the impression that he has to check with someone higher up for any decisions, but a quick check of their website reveals that he proudly announces that he is the president. If I were president of a company, my business card would say just that. I would say to anyone considering this company, that they should keep their money and hire someone who cares about owning a company. Better yet, hire a veteran with a real work ethic, who doesn't hide behind his/her employees. read more

They are simply terrible. I live in a condo community and we are lucky to see them once a month. They cut lawns but do not edge. They don't pull weeds. They let plants die in order to save water. Some trees need to be taken out as soon the roots will cause damage to the homes. Grass dying, hedges need cutting overall our condos look bad. One star is one star to many. read more
