My personal experience is not good as on July 31 I had to get one of their trucks with trailer to pull over on the 405N freeway as some debris flew from their trailer and cracked my Lexus LX570 windshield. The driver Casildo Pineda was very nice and gave me the company business card but since then numerous phones messages, numerous emails along with photos of the damage and auto glass replacement invoice have been completely ignored. Not even the decency to share their vehicle insurance information. Its sad that I had to file a CHP report and file a small claims lawsuit in OC court to try to motivate them to take care of this. read more

Complete scam, absurd prices, and terrible communication! STAY FAR AWAY FROM GROWSCAPES. A BUNCH OF CROOKS. Do not waste your time with this company. They will only waste yours and try to rip you off in the process. The guy who came out to my house tried to make the installation seem super complicated, like it was some massive technical job. In reality, the Rain Bird controller only costs about $230 to buy, and the installation takes maybe 20 minutes to do yourself! Yet I received an outrageously inflated estimate of $1,390 total, with $1,195 allocated just for that controller installation. On top of that, they slipped in a $195 charge for an irrigation audit that they originally quoted me $150 for in person. When I sent a reasonable email simply asking for an itemized breakdown of the materials and labor, as well as questioning the surprise price markup on the audit, I got zero answer. Complete ghosting. Zero customer service, zero transparency, and absolute radio silence when called out on their shady pricing. Save yourself the headache, money, and time. Look elsewhere or do it yourself. We are so happy with Growscapes work converting our front yard to primarily native and drought resistant plants. They removed our lawn, installed drip lines, and worked with my vision and our city requirements to create my dream. I wanted a cottage garden look, and they accomplished it more than I ever thought possible. They also installed a dry creak, and incorporated blue landscaping glass I had purchased into the design. I loved their rock suggestions to incorporate between our existing pavers as well! I was worried that removing our lawn would make the yard look too bland, but our stunning and flourishing native plants, accent pebbles, and glass "dry" creak actually make it look way more lush and vibrant than before. We love it!!!! The team also did a great job repairing our backyard irrigation system, removing a fallen tree, and resetting our irrigation programming. Their 30 day plant warranty was fantastic as well for the small handful of plants that struggled. Our plants were small/younger to begin with to save cost, but they have grown significantly in just 2-3 months. Joe was thorough in explaining the process and understood what I was envisioning and came up with a proposal that incorporated everything I needed including a rock river, which is what I needed for a turf replacement rebate from the water district. Casildo and his team were able to get out earlier than expected and completed the job in 5 business days, right before Thanksgiving! The amount of work done each day was impressive and they cleaned up each and everyday after they were done -- amazing. I had the best experience possible with Growscapes. I called them to add some light plantings to a home that was already dryscaped with nothing but river rock. I had no real direction, other than I'd like to make the home look more contemporary. Anthony came for an initial estimate and he was much more thorough than anyone else. He took photos, talked through ideas, gave us a preview in their process. His proposal showed the specifics of plants suggested for planting, quantity and unit price and pricing for all related services such as rock cleaning and drip irrigation installation. On the day of, they place all of the plants in the suggested areas and give you overnight to sit with it to make sure you like it. From the first email, Anthony and the entire Growscapes team have exceeded all of our expectations! Out of the three businesses we reached out to, Growscapes was the quickest to come out and give us a quote, which was reasonable. I was a little hesitant at first since a lot of their examples online are of desert landscapes and we wanted more of a Mediterranean vibe (no succulents, more flowers, lavender, roses, grapevines, mulch, and also grass in the backyard), but still drought tolerant. We also needed a total overhaul of all our outdoor space - we were starting with all weeds, no irrigation of any kind, and no lighting. Growscapes totally delivered! Anthony took his time and thoroughly explained each plant and design choice, and ended up enhancing our overall vision. When we ran into delays with our county turf rebate, Anthony was incredibly patient when we had to push the start date back multiple times. I also had mannnyyy questions and changes throughout the process, and Anthony was very responsive and kindly answered each one, which I appreciated! The actual project took about the time estimated (~2.5 weeks for front, back, and side yards) and the Growscapes team took care to do things the right way and were very considerate - taking our trash in when we didn't ask, and taking care to not block our driveway when they could avoid it, for example. After 30+ years, our front planters were in desperate need of being refreshed and some sprinkler issues needed to be corrected. We are so glad we went with Growscapes and couldn't be more pleased! Joe's bid was in line with three others we'd received and we were confident they could do the job. Chilo was the lead foreman. We can't say enough good things about him and his crew! Our project included demo of all planters (except trees and one decorative hedge); reconfiguration of our traditional sprinkler system with drip irrigation (and new valves); correcting three of the lines so that shade planters and sun planters were on separate valves; amend & prep the soil; layout & install new plants; and mulch. They also set an existing fountain in place and added mulch to the back planters. Joe had given us a concept sketch and plant list that went out the window when we met Chilo at the nursery (the highlight of the project for me). Chilo totally understood my vision. We wanted drought tolerant plants that complemented our colonial-style home (NO succulents or desert plants). I also wanted landscaping that wouldn't look sparse yet wouldn't become overcrowded. He got it, knows plants, and directed me towards those that fit the plan. When I got excited about this or that shrub, he knew if it would work for us. Plants were delivered, thoughtfully placed and left for us to study over the weekend. Perfect. That gave us a chance to swap some here & there and see where a few more "fill in" plants could be added. When I asked about adding an espalier camellia to the front of the house, Chilo found just the right specimen - I was thrilled. Our back planters had been redone a couple of years ago by another company. Some of the plants had died and several were struggling. Chilo was kind enough to take a look. He suggested a different dripper head (the kind they use), adjusting the watering schedule and a fertilizer. I'm happy to say that after three weeks, these plants are perking up. Thank you! I can honestly say I've never been happier with a contractor! Chilo and his men were professional, friendly, arrived promptly every day, worked hard and cleaned up so well at the end of each day, you wouldn't even know they'd been there.
