I'd put more stars if I could. I've been a customer since they were in Grapevine, by my workplace. They moved Justin a few years beack, by my house. They have everything a true feed store should. Customer service is second to none, Mitch knows his product. There's a feed store closer to my house but if you ask a technical question, or even if they have a product like a specific herbicide it takes so long for them to get the manager who often times isn't up to speed. Mitch is a walking encyclopedia of feed, herbicides, & everything else he sells. I dread the day he retires. read more

I couldn't find any lime for my tomato plants at Lowe's so I did a search for feed stores and came up with Master Made Feeds' number. When I called the nice fellow said "Oh sure, we have 50 lb. bags of lime." I said, "How about something much smaller since I'm only a patio gardener." He put me on hold and returned to say he had one 5 lb. bag of lime left. I asked if he would hold it for me and he said that'd be no problem. An hour later I drag myself over to the feed store. In a big pen are a dozen Easter bunnies! Oh my goodness so cute!! I felt like I was 8 again at the local feed store in PA! They had another tub of black chicks and yet another tub of ducklings and Easter chicks. The food color dyed chicks that are pink and green. I must have played with ducks and chicks for 15 minutes. In addition to having lime on reserve, I imagine this place mixes custom feeds. Horse troughs, galvanized pails, some vegetable seed, rope, bridles, saddles, this place is well stocked. They carry a limited amount of cat and dog food. To add to the color of the store they also have an inordinately mean black cat in a cage marked on all sides "Do not touch cat, it bites" If you even look at it , the cat puffs up like a floating pool raft. They sell local honey at the register as well as live lady bugs. Yes live lady bugs in a plastic tub. I asked on a whim if they had any earthworms and the guy replied, not right now but next week we might. I do believe I'll call next week about the worms. in the meantime VIVA LA LIME and make my tomatoes grow big and fat. read more

Mr Waters and his employee's do a great job when it comes to C/S and quality of their products. I feed my dogs Canidae and they are the closest retailer to me now and their prices are considerably lower than when I am in Dallas. I guess its true when they say eggs are cheaper in the country!!! We can't say enough about Master Made. We stop in for the occasional garden supply and every month for one bag of dog food. Despite all their customers and a large variety of dog foods, they remember that I buy Strongpoint when I walk in the door. Don't forget to buy their farm fresh eggs that actually have orange yolks (not the pale yellow ones you're used to)! Everyone is always friendly from the entrance to the deep corners of the back dock. I am not a high dollar customer but am treated with courtesy every visit at Master Made. Each visit is an adventure, too, as they often have baby chicks, ducklings or bunnies for viewing. If that's not enough, their babysitter, is the store cat! You can't help but smile. read more

This small business is great!! They are always helpful and friendly! I get all my firewood here and it crackles and burns great!!! They loaded it in my Jeep for me and put it on cardboard so my jeep wouldn't get dirty . A real live feed shop! We found this place carried the fancy cat food we feed our cats (normally purchased at Petfood Express in CA). We found the correct aisle and although the larger bag had a small slash cut in it, we picked up the smaller bag and let the staff know. I was really excited and happy to see a store cat! Seemed like it was guarding the baby chicks and bunnies, it was such a sweetie :-) Great customer service and eager to help. It's a shame they didn't sell revolution but they did have frontline. This includes ducks as well as dogs :) They are very knowledgeable and eager to help with any questions I bring them. They know the land, seasons, and animals of this area from years of experience and they can advise you on farm/ranch land & animals, as well as pets. The feed store is great, but I won't be using the Mobile Vet they have there again. Dr. Timothy Hawk is not very friendly and acts like you are bothering him to see your animal. He's kind of surly to be honest. Maybe he thinks that's how he should act from watching the reality TV shows about vets. Our neighborhood association was having a spring fling for the families to enjoy a day together. We wanted a petting zoo for the children and needed to add 2 ducklings and a bunny to our menagerie. The feed store in Grapevine was easy to get to, right off of main street, with a large parking lot in the back, pony rides out front - right off the parking lot. When we walked into the feed store itself we were immediately greeted by staff, then directed right to the animals we were looking for. My daughter just cannot put down the white rabbit with the one flop ear and black eye liner. He is downy soft, calm and cuddly. The ducklings are adorable black and yellow bundles that cheep endlessly and were the hit of the party. We want to go back to Master Made just to wander around, hold the baby turkeys, have our picture taken with the miniature sized bull, and get advice from our new friends that work there. As an animal lover I have been to many feed stores and this one has it all. Why go anywhere else? read more

I thought I was going to be excited about this store, but then I saw the condition of the live chicks and ducks. It was so sad and tragic. My daughter was unbelievably upset by the condition of one particular duckling that lay there severely injured and dying yet still alive and suffering. We just turned around and left. read more
