    Very helpful, knowledgeable and patient staff, both over the phone and in the store. It's well worth the few extra minute drive to Denton.

The boxes arrived basically destroyed, either in the Petsmart warehouse or by FedEx. The main issue that we are having is with the return process. This order was placed from California by my husband, who is the card holder. The manager of the Denton Petsmart Store stated that the original credit card must be present at the return. This is impossible since the credit card is in California. I believe a refund could be processed using the email order confirmation and the associated card details, without requiring a physical presentation of the card. I believe the Store Manager is going out of her way to make the return as difficult as possible because she doesn't want 49 damaged boxes return. Additionally, we ordered the cat litter for delivery because my daughter, who resides in Gainesville, TX has challenging health issues. Transporting the damages boxes back to the store is a significant challenge for her. At most, she can manage 10 boxes at a time in her vehicle, which would require multiple trips between Gainesville and Denton - an 80 mile round trip - an unreasonable burden. As the store has a contract with FedEx, the store has more influence in working with FedEx to come and pick up the boxes. If FedEx is the entity that damaged the boxes, then FedEx should make things right. The Store Manager was not about to discuss this with FedEx or provide any assistance or solution to this problem. Her attitude was this is basically our problem.

I said I am serious about buying, but how do you expect people to buy your cats if they can't meet them first? He said again, "Are you absolutely sure about wanting to buy this cat?" to which I said yes for the second time. He said "Well you have to be at least 18 or older or have a parent or guardian to adopt."..... I am 26 years old. So I told him I am 26 and he circled back AGAIN and said "Okay well do you think you're actually going to adopt the cat." I left and went straight to Petco where I was holding a cat within the first 3 minutes I was there (and I adopted her too). No wonder PetSmart has a hard time selling their animals, who would want to feel uncomfortable and berated by the staff for simply holding a cat before adopting? You guys need to change your pet handling policy. It's a SHAME you can't even touch the animals before you buy them unless you're "serious", and I was serious! I will most definitely never be coming back here. I don't want to feel uncomfortable for asking to pet a cat and for a place that "loves pets", it's terrible that we aren't allowed to love on them. Petco will have all of my business now!

I bought a frog from them in 2022 who immediately started showing strange behavior (seizure like mannerisms, getting knocked on her back and unable to correct herself, among other highly unsettling things). She died less than 2 weeks after I got her. I tried to call the Petco multiple times to speak to their ordering manager (or even a regular manager) to discuss this because I had done a TON of research and thought that it was a potential problem with the breeder they got their frogs from. I tried calling for WEEKS and the manager was somehow never in. I tried emailing a big document with photos and research. Never a response. I STILL go into this Petco and see frogs with the same sores/discoloring my frog had + improper housing practices (keeping larger frogs with baby frogs who are in danger of being eaten by the larger frogs).
