I used Master Tech twice - and both times got excellent advise and service. Don repaired a Mini-Cooper - quoting me approx. 5x to 10x less than the Mini-Cooper dealer. The dealer was pushing to replace the clutch and a lot of other work. Don suggested that all it needed was a new battery and new brake pads! He also spent an hour on my 10 year old Jeep Liberty - and ended up telling me - it didn't need any work. I'm not aware of any mechanic in my life that has done that. As long as I'm in this area Don will be my mechanic. He's a rare find. NEVER tries to upsell stuff you don't need. Explains everything carefully. Super honest. Very reasonably priced. It pains me that this auto shop has yet to be reviewed. Master Tech's been serving the greater Fort Lauderdale area since '85. It's ran by a very wise ASE-certified technician named Donald Demmery, and his kind, expert accomplice Dwayne (also ASE-certified). Together, they are partners in crime, aiming for customer-relationship bonds that are based on trust and customer service. They work day in and day out, mostly assisting locals and longtime customers who appreciate their expertise and friendly service. If you observe both of them, the similarities are surreal. They're very analytical --- working quietly but diligently in analyzing any issue with your car, whatever it may be. If they see a problem, they'll let you know A.S.A.P. I went for an oil change, and Don was quick to tell me that my tire was losing air pressure (a nail had gotten stuck in it). How much, Don? Don: $5 They work within a lower working-class budget, so don't worry about getting ripped off, or anything like that. I usually just get oil changes and tire rotations, and the prices are very reasonable and inexpensive. Now, I know you've heard countless cliches about not trusting mechanics, but rest assured, Don and Dwayne are great in ameliorating any fears that you may have. They not only get the job done flawlessly, but they do whatever they can to find alternatives to help you save a load of $$$. It's very relieving when an auto shop works within in YOUR budget, and that's the reason why they are trusted as a Fort Lauderdale staple. Honest mechanics? Yup, they exist! I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews, but I went there to get my car flushed (put in regular gas instead of Deisel) and it was half the price of anything I read online, they were very quick, and extremely knowledgeable. My car had been rumbling like a hyped up jalopy for over a year, with not one person able to tell me what was wrong with my 2009 Honda Civic. Oh, it is just getting old. (only 75,000 miles on the car) But my son from California recently visited for the holidays and told me, "Mom, this is NOT right!" Great experience. I took my SUV in when the ABS light came on to see what the problem was. He ran a diagnostic test and told me the issue was my entire ABS system but that would cost $2000 to repair. Since my truck is from 2002, he suggested not fixing it since the rest of the braking system was not affected as long as I was okay with that. Didn't charge me a dime. I will definitely be going back for all future repairs. I highly recommend him for his honesty. read more
