I will start by saying the owner was really responsive on a weekend and they had such amazing Yelp reviews but feel the need to share the outrageous quote provided. I knew I needed brakes when the "alert" squeal started last week and a slight grind over the weekend in the left rear. Also requested a full synthetic oil change while it would be there. This is a 2016 Dodge Charger pursuit V8 5.7L that I've owned since brand new. Dropped the car off this morning as requested and the guys were friendly and accommodating. Thank God I had checked off to call before doing the work if over $400. Received a text with the quote which was $2,770.11 (attached here). This included $865.44 to mount and balance four tires!? I can only assume this meant to also actually replace the tires, which have less than 5,000 miles on them and plenty of tread so not sure if that's a error or what, but crazy. Didn't ask for any of the other things listed on here, and even though requested and oil change, the oil change isn't even quoted on this quote....I refused the service and told them I'd be in to pick up the car. A guy called me to explain that all the rotors needed to be replaced (as well as pads obviously). I had a extremely hard time believing all the rotors were worn as again, warning squeal started last week with minor grinding in right rear this weekend, so I would maybe believe rear rotors but not all of them. And look, this car requires larger more expensive rotors due to the package it has and I get it, but I'm also reasonable and don't want to be taken advantage of. Almost $3,000 quote for a brake job is absolutely absurd (as also is a $1,500 quote if literally peel it back to just the brakes and rotors). Brought the car somewhere else and quoted $690 for all new rotors and pads (heavy duty pursuit rates and premium ceramic pads), including labor. After the got the tires off and inspected advised it doesn't need front rotors, but I ordered them so had them put on anyway. Total for all new pads and rotors and install and all taxes, $771.36 I understand this second place didn't quote me for all the other services that Sam's did (and that I didn't ask for) but I simply needed a brake job and oil change and was quoted almost $3,000 and that quote didn't even include the oil change that I did have Sam's perform. Lots up up-charges ($57.50 for labor to put in a cabin air filter in the glove box, $34.50 for labor to put in a engine air filter, etc); ordered the filters myself for $100 combined and will put them in myself in 3 minutes. It can be difficult finding a mechanic you trust, but I found one. Mike is incredible. He's honest, dependable and he won't try to sell you a lot of things you don't need just to make a profit. I bought a new (to me) vehicle and I wanted to get it on a schedule. I brought it to Mike to do an oil change and a look over to make sure everything is good. I had noticed that there was a bit of a roughness when I drove, so I described that to him, as best I could. I don't speak mechanic so I don't do a great job of explaining my car troubles. Mike understood and had his guys take it out and look it over. Then he showed me the problem; the tires were so old the metal was coming through the rubber. Not good. He quoted me a price on four tires with installation that was extremely reasonable and I had it done a few days later. Now the car sounds great and it's on a schedule of maintenance that means it will last a good long time. He's a great guy and his people are excellent at what they do. I was there a couple weeks ago after leaving the lexus dealer (spent 3 hours there for an oil change ) and I can say I was very impressed since the first talking to them on Yelp . Not only they were very nice but they didn't offer services I didn't need . They were super honest. Took the car early in morning for them to check it . The dealer wanted it to do a bunch of things that they were not need right away and their prices were crazy . At Sam's they explain and show you the choices on what is need it . The one star review is also for the employee that made eye contact with me and then proceeded to ignore me when I knocked on the door several times. It's a shame you guys don't know how to take accountability. Michael...people including your employees make mistakes. That's life but it's very obvious you don't know how to handle customer complaints very well and your responses to me have confirmed that. And I can't forget the time when I got out of my Uber for pick up...As I was getting out of the car, I MADE EYE CONTACT with one their employees who quickly ran inside the shop...and then he completely ignored me when I knocked...and called...several times. Granted, it was Friday and I'm sure no one wanted to wait around past closing for me (I was 2min past closing) but I could've AT LEAST gotten a courtesy call or even a text that they were closing. The icing on the cake was the response, or lack there of, to my very distraught voicemail I left them that evening. Whoever he was, he acted dumbfounded to my situation and took ZERO accountability. I know I don't have the most valuable car or own a lot of expensive things but you guys really let me down. You were careless with my property which could've easily gotten stolen or ransacked. I had somewhat of crazy experience but I have to say I'm glad it happened at Sam's. This was my first time here, I came because I saw the great reviews on Yelp and I was looking for an honest mechanic due to being scammed a few times with this car already. My check engine light was on and I knew of a previous oil leak that I was told wasn't major but I should get it looked at. The check engine light was an easy tune-up and the leak turned out to be major coming from the valve cover... all good and done. We also replaced all 4 tires with alignment. When they went to call me in to pickup, the mechanic found that there was a separate oil leak from a different area and it would be a simple fix replacing a small hose. Turns out the hose has a manufacturing defect and wouldn't fit correctly, they had to keep my car an extra 4 days and try 3 different hoses in total to get this leak to stop. This was such a blow because I use my car for work. Nobody had the part and the ones that did offered the defective one. The part was in back order with the dealership. This was a tricky spot, I believe Sam's found an aftermarket hose that did the job...but it took a lot of effort, putting on 3 different hoses and running around calling everyone in town. They could've easily given my car back in the beginning saying "not our problem" or ignored it, or when they ran into all that trouble and the issue looked "unfixable" they could've just told me to pick the car up and tell me they can't help me. But they were the ones to keep trying everything, without my prompting, and ultimately they fixed the car. They didn't even charge me extra, in fact they worked all this into what I was already getting done. I ended up paying close to my original quote maybe even less. All in all, I'm happy that this happened at Sam's, they handled it like pros, they were honest and fair and transparent the whole way. Larry at the front was my contact the whole time and that guy is a legend, he really cares about people and it shows. He really felt bad that this made me lose out on 4 days of work, I could tell it bothered him. What more could you ask for a business that cares about you. My car is running great, all symptoms and problems seem to be resolved! I would most definitely come back, they have me as a loyal customer, I would recommend anybody I knew to them. read more

Ahhhhh! I'm so silly! I enclosed in my review that it was $40 dollars for a tire rotation ONLY! That price was with a rotation AND balance on all 4 wheels! It was originally $58.80 but was given the Yelp discount. I will enclose my invoice. I would also like to note that a safety inspection fee is mandatory. It will be deducted if they somehow do not find a diagnosis. In this case, I was almost certain I knew what was wrong with my car (needing a rotation and/or balance due to my vehicle pulling to the left when I hit a certain MPH). So Richard, who wrote my statement, DIDN'T charge me for the inspection (in all honesty, I would be pretty upset. But yet again, I've always done auto work with a friend so never dealt with the fees). This, fine print so you will, is stated on their Yelp page. I wasn't aware before I brought my car in. Got my brakes done here and had never had previous issues. After two days with my new brakes my brake light came on so I brought it in. I was on a time crunch but they insisted it was nothing they did and to bring it back when they could look at it more. I am a young girl so I said my dad would be bringing it in the next time and miraculously they found a loose bolt that was leaking brake fluid. They tightened it and I have had no problems since but the fact that the mention of a man coming in is what caused them to fix it did, and still does not, sit right with me. UPDATED REVIEW: Still a good place to bring your car. My newer car is out of warranty. I called Sam's and was told that Sam and Michael no longer own the shop. I explained my issue and was advised it was not their forte, but they would be happy to look at it. I am thankful for their honesty (they still seem super busy). I took my time and fixed the problem myself based on their advice. I would still call them first if I had an issue with my car. ------------- When I found Sam's Automotive on Yelp in 2013, my "agreement" with Michael at Sam's was to let me know when they felt I needed a new car. My 16 year old Expedition Eddie Bauer had over 357,000 miles on the clock. I brought my car in, because the Ford Dealer (Pompano) would not tell me exactly what was wrong. They wanted to start at $1250 for repairs, but still couldn't tell me what was wrong and why it was running so rough. I dropped my car at Sam's and received a call from Michael. He said "it's time" (for a new car). He explained that I was having possible engine compression issues and it was not worth repairing a 16 year old vehicle with the mileage that I have. They did more than what they needed to to get it running, so I could find a car. They charged as little as possible, despite working on my car for more than four hours. Thank you to Sam, Michael and the crew for all of your insight! I bought a new car, so I'll be back in 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). Terrible! Took my Mustang there with three problems: 1) squeaky serpentine belt 2) rough running engine 3) engine stalls. I explained to Larry that aout four days before the visit the engine started to run roughly and then stalled constantly. He told me that the car was stalling because of a faulty brake booster which would make the car stall when you stepped on the brake. I explained that the car didn't stall when I stepped on the brake but the stalling problem started to occur only when the engine started running roughly. They kept the car for four and a half days while changing parts for the brake booster, power steering pump which they told me fed the brake booster and serpentine belt along with worn pulleys and tension parts for the serpentine belt.. When I picked up the car, the squeak was gone and the car didn't stall but the rough running engine remained. Larry offered no explanation for this as he handed me the over $1,800 bill. At that time he also explained that the float in the radiator had broken while in his care so now the low coolant light goes on and won't shut off. He indicated that he would not repair that free of charge. I had gone to Sam's two years ago when my tire blew out. I needed a tow and so I called to ask if they had a particular tire in stock. They said it was in stock and would be waiting for me. As the tow truck driver brought me there I told him that they had my tire in stock. He didn't believe it and when we arrived he asked the attendant if they kept tires in stock. They said "no". I had to wait three hours for my tire to arrive. DON'T GO THERE1 read more

Stopped in for the first time with an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. First there but at least three workers didn't show for work. Almost ready to leave but they took car into bay. Finally did the job and I paid and left. Stopped for a coffee and checked oil level. Low. Moved car to another flat location but low. Drove car back and they took car around back and inside again. Amazing. Not low anymore. ????? After checking and changing oil I guess I forgot how. ???? While there another car had fluids changed and guess what. Car back in again. I brought my work truck in to have the brakes checked and to examine a leaking tire. They found my brakes in good condition and didn't even see the need for any pad replacement. My tire had a nail in the sidewall and couldn't be repaired and they recommended replacement. When a slight discrepancy was found in the tire order, they corrected it and did not charge me any extra. I was having trouble with my car today. My brake lights wouldn't go off, which made the battery die. I called to see if they could look at my car. They told me to bring it by and they'd look at it. As soon as I got there an technician started looking at my car. They have a really comfortable area to wait. I spoke to the Owner while I waited. He was very nice. I was going to the Toyota dealership because my Highlander was under warranty with them but they always took a long time and just couldn't seem to figure things out. I came on Yelp and saw the great reviews and close proximity to me that Sam's was, so I messaged them on Yelp. They were quick to respond and got me in about 4 days later. It took all of 5 minutes for me to drop off my car for an oil change and quality test. Then it took them about 1.5 hours to check out the car and text me their assessment. 45 minutes after that they did all the work they needed to do. I went in, paid, and had my car back in about another 5-10 minutes. Everything was incredibly quick and efficient. Pricing was reasonable and it definitely seems like they are not trying to gouge or overcharge their customers.
