Every time I come to this store for service and/or a car wash, I remember how much the whole team's performance is stellar. Great price and wonderful service. Last summer, while washing my truck, a metal pole fell on the top, leaving a dent that cannot be seen unless standing in the box. Rather than hiding or ignoring it, the team immediately reported it to me. I told them, "who cares; it's unseen and doesn't matter". They were so concerned about making it right by me. Impressive. Besides the efficiency and competence, careful attention to detail and doing everything right, I appreciate the redundancy this team practices to confirm the accuracy of their performance. My very favorite part of all is the diversity of the team here. Gender and race. LOVE it. The teamwork they display together speaks volumes for the management of this location. The note on the comment card needs to be read just to understand the positivity at this venue. On vacation and far from home we hit a large racoon who damaged the front end of our car. Before continuing on we wanted to be sure the there wasn't any additional damage and ended up here. The service was incredible. For no charge they checked the undercarriage of the car, checked our fluids and even helped secure some loose bits on the bumper so that we could safely continue our travels. They even changed out the blinker light that was knocked out by the racoon and got that working for us. Staff were friendly, courteous and went out of their way to get us in and out quickly. Fast service, great staff. The oil change was quick and they pointed out some other issues I should have addressed (like most shops do). However, when they pointed out that I should consider new windshield wipers, I let them know that I did have some in my trunk and just haven't had time to install them yet. They went ahead and installed them for me with no charge. I had my dog with me as well and they were very accommodating to let me have him in the shop waiting area. On our road trip from Billings to LA we had to stop in for an oil change for our car. The service was exceptional. Not only did they change the oil quickly, but they went above and beyond doing a quick check on the car and topping off the antifreeze. The staff, (we spoke with Travis) was definitely not your typical mechanic shop. Men and women working hard and getting the job done. When all was finished they even cleaned out the floor mats! I was driving through Billings on my way across the state and stopped for an oil change. These guys were prompt, courteous, and so thorough! Their customer service was absolutely top notch. They even vacuumed out my car!! The whole thing took less than 15 minutes. They were totally up front about prices, and made sure to check with me about any add-ons. At no time did I feel like I was being asked to buy something extra that was unnecessary. When the price turned out $2 higher than he had originally quoted me, he personally came to explain why. When I was paying they listed every single thing they had done or checked, and what condition it was in. To top it all off, they have rocking chairs on their front porch and FREE ice cream in their waiting area! read more

Super fast. Told me about other problems but were to pushy at all. And they have wilcoxson's ice cream in the waiting room! My oil change wasn't ten minutes but only because of the car in front of me. Once they got to my car it took ten minutes. I was there a total of fifteen minute. read more

Outstanding... we just had an outside wash... attention to detail... wheel wells and underside cleaned... up to 5 folks working at a time... my husband's comment...he has never had this number of people working on his car doing as much as these folks have done... we have been on the road for 6 months and our windshield is truly CLEAN!!!! We will be back before we leave Billings to have the inside done. We cannot say' enuf good things about this place! read more

After patronizing Master Lube for well over 20 years with several vehicles, I no longer will give them my business. The reason, a long time employee flat out lied to me. I have a GM performance air intake system on my SUV that was installed when I bought it brand new. The SUV is now ten years old and was always serviced by Master Lube. The problem came about when I went to clean my K&N air filter, I noticed one of the stainless steel screws was missing. I asked my husband about it and he said it was there the last time he cleaned the filter, and trust me, if he had dropped it and couldn't find it, he would of asked for my help in locating it because I know where the specialty retrieval tools are since I maintain our tools and workbench. So that left only one option, Master Lube lost it when they checked my K&N. I tried to find a replacement screw at several local hardwear stores to no avail. That got frustrating. So I decided to go and ask the Master Lube store that I have my vehicles serviced, with the thought that, if they found miscellaneous screws, etc, maybe they would keep them. The employee told me that they didn't have one and that they haven't cracked open a K&N filter in 10 years. Hmm, I specifically remember the employees throughout the 10 years I've owned my SUV that they have told me my filter was dirty and needed cleaned, they even offered to do it and I said no because I know you can't put a wet K&N filter in any vehicle because it can mess up air flow sensors. I am the one that takes our vehicles in 99% of the time to be serviced, so I know when they say my cabin air filter or K&N needs replaced or cleaned. I surmise that because I'm female, he didn't think I knew what I was talking about. I have had that problem often when it comes to vehicles and granted I don't know absolutely everything about vehicles. My mechanic will attest that I do know know more about them then the average female because I've made a choice to educate myself. I know, not patronizing a locally owned store over the screw, but the point is, the employee didn't have to flat out lie to me and could of offered a compromise, like offering to pay for the 75 cent screw! I did finally find an exact replacement screw at the Billings Hardwear store on Broadwater. There actually was another incident that finally made me take my business elsewhere. When I had my daughter's SUV serviced at the same location, they cross threaded the drain plug so badly that it leaked oil on our new concrete driveway, not happy. I put in full synthetic oil in all our vehicles (6 of them) so it isn't cheap to drain it, put in an oversized plug to keep it from leaking and replace the oil. I'm currently going to another Lube center that treats me with respect and understanding when I ask questions and gets me in and out in a Jiffy... read more

After driving into town for a one-night stay, my car was in desperate need of an oil change. Reading MasterLube's reviews, I headed there. They were quick, thorough, honest (told me filters didn't need changing/trick question because they were changed on the last oil change), cleaned the windows and then topped it off with a free ice cream! Good place for a quick oil change - they took me in right away and completed the oil change and a complimentary (though very superficial) vacuum in around 20 minutes. The price for fully synthetic (Mobil 1) was a little higher than I usually pay (by about 20%) but the quick turn-around was crucial for me, as I was just traveling through.
