I hesitated to leave this review but Mike won't reply to any of my communication. We used Masterplan and they did a decent job. Unfortunately they didn't finish the job completely. They left some unfinished work around the chimney. We were hoping he could come out and quickly touch it up but we can't get a hold of mike. We thought he would stand behind his work but that doesn't seem to be the case. Ps: Adding screen shots from our communication. Clearly won't stand behind his work. In addition, there was no "free work". We paid for everything that was in the contract. We also hired him for additional work. Maybe you miss quoted us, but that's not on us. I hired Masterplan Painting to powerwash and paint/stain my wood entryway, stairs, gate, terrace/deck, and railing. They were very professional and detailed in their presentation and bid, which included copies of their license and insurance. Their website also looked impressive, although I noticed that some of the content was copied from another company's site. The painting team was friendly and efficient, and they finished the job in three days. The result was generally good, except for the top of the railing which had some splotches due to a mismatch between the old and new stain. They tried to fix it with a second coat, but it didn't help. The only other thing of note was an extra charge of $110 for cleaning the underside of the deck, which I had agreed to during the walkthrough just prior to the start of work, but didn't know the exact cost beforehand. I would recommend clarifying any additional costs up front with them. Overall, I was satisfied with their work and would give them 4 stars out of 5. They did a decent job for a reasonable price, but there is room for improvement in communication and quality control. read more

Mike and his team did such an amazing job with painting the exterior of my house. You know how most contract jobs leave you with some little niggling thing that you wish had been done differently? Not so with Mike and his crew. I was more than 110% satisfied with Masterplan's paint job, everything was absolutely perfect. In January, I researched and yelped 4 painting companies to paint the interior of my home in SF. Masterplan Painting owner Mike was very responsive and knowledgeable of his craft. His pricing was fair and reasonable as the other companies however I truly enjoyed his professionalism. His team was always on time and they completed the work within a week. I I would give Michael and his team 10 stars if I could! I reached out to 5 companies for bids for exterior house painting and re-staining of our Ipe wood deck. Michael was the first to reply ( within 1 hour), the first to come by for an estimate, and the first to reply with a quote. The pricing was fair, reasonable and competitive while also being the most professional and thorough in scope. He fit us into his very busy schedule within a week of hiring him and finished our rather large job well within his estimated completion schedule. The team he had doing the work were expedient, thorough and super friendly. Michael was in touch daily, at my request, with an overview of what the day's work would include and any pertinent details we might need. Every request we made was granted and he ( and the crew) went over and above to repair some damaged wood on our doorframe ( damage my husband and I were responsible for trying to get an old door off it's hinges). OOPS! The quality of the work was top notch and they even came back weeks later to help us move some very heavy items back onto the deck that we couldn't manage on our own. These guys are professionals! I have them the difficult task of trying to match ancient paint (without a sample) and painting only half the walls which was all my landlord would pay for. It is an old house, sanding and scrapping old paint is an hard job but they worked until the old paint was completely cleared. I can't say enough about how great it was working with Mike Ross, the owner, and Sebastian, the magician who took 30 year old kitchen honey oak awful looking cabinets to brand new white, shiny, beautiful deliciousness. Can you use the word delicious to describe cabinets? Yes, yes you can...now. He is a wizard. I would eat off of them. If they charge a tad more than anyone else it is because you are receiving professionalism. Sebastian was always on time, every day, 0800. He worked HARD every single day, with the exception of his lunch break, and never left before putting in a full 8 hours. They tarp off the entire kitchen area, as well as the area (for us anyway) in the garage where the spray painting will take place. The smell of the paint isn't fun, so expect to open some windows, but that's just the nature of the beast. Our bid came in with all the licensing, insurance, and references needed to make me feel secure when having people you don't know in the house. Both Mike and Sebastian always presented with masks, for our safety. Heck, even my dog...who usually doesn't like men...even loved Mike when he first came in. I can't say enough good things. Did I mention my new door knobs and pulls? Let me mention my new door knobs and pulls...which Sebastian perfectly aligned, and finally booted my kitchen from 1990 to 2020. What a great solution to paying twice as much for new cabinets! The entire project took a full 7 workdays to complete. read more
