I recently moved my business to Novato. I had very little time from when I got the keys to when movers shifted all of our warehouse to the new location. The concrete on the floor looked terrible. I reached out to Ross Painting to see if they could fix up our floor with an epoxy finish. They showed me samples, explained the process very clearly and had a quote to me by the end of the day. The next day they started the work and did a phenomenal job. Edgard had it friend down and refinished in 2 days. I love the new finish. Ross Painting may want to consider renaming the company "Garage Magic." Rather than a national or regional chain, Ross Painting is locally owned and operated. You will likely meet Dan Ross, the owner, and a super-nice and honest guy. Right after a big remodel, we undertook the task of protecting the garage floor while it was still in pristine condition. Dan explained the variety of floor coatings, defining the pros and cons of each. We chose the poly-aspartic coating, as it is more durable than epoxy and not that much more expensive. He even took the time to help choose one of the many color options available. On the day of the scheduled work, Dan's team, including Edgard and a couple other guys, arrived on time (early even!) and began the project. Even though it was new cement, the floor required some light grinding as preparation. After the prep, they thoroughly cleaned the floor and then applied the substrate, color chips and top coat. Just as promised, they were done by the end of the day, and like magic, my garage floor was transformed. With the help of Dan and his team, my garage is now beautiful, like another room in my house. Having a nice floor and light colored walls makes doing work in the garage all that much more pleasant. I walked around with the contractor to discuss the painting of the arbors at a commercial property. The arbors (probably 18 of them) almost all had bougainvillea vines growing on them. Bougainvillea vines do not attach they can be moved around. We discussed working around the vines as best he could which he agreed to do. Instead of doing that, he just chopped the entire vine off at a level just below the arbor. He did at least spare the rose vines on 2 of the arbors. His bid was a few thousand dollars (we paid him around $33,000) less then the other contractor we obtained a bid from. You get what you pay for! read more

They are painting our condo complex. They do an adequate job. However, they damaged our plants, we had paint on the BBQ and despite repeated requests for them not to start work without knocking on our door first, they continued to show up unannounced, waking our sleeping child and this morning, standing on our deck while my wife was not fully dressed. Ross painting is painting our townhouse complex.This review relates to management.They set up large container boxes, trucks, ladders, garbage bags, paint containers and a porta potty in the living view of five homes for over two months with one to go. When the homeowner's requested the porta potty be moved where just garage doors view it, we were told they would not move it. When the homeowners wrote again making constructive suggestions, there was no response. Most contractors are sensitive to this issue. But the management at Ross Painting has ignored the requests of homeowners, and left an eye sore in the living area's of several homeowners when they could have moved it a few feet to be out of sight of the living area. Ross Painting has been inconsiderate, unreasonable and insensitive to the homeowners. There is no customer relationship. read more

Ross Painting was recommended to us by Wooden Windows of Oakland. We had splurged on custom windows to replace the original 1920s windows in the front of our house and wanted to make sure they were painted carefully. Ross Painting also connected us with a terrific faux-painter who helped us revitalize the badly damaged gumwood sills on the windows. The painters were prompt, professional, focused, and especially careful about protecting the area around the painting and cleaning up completely when they were done for the day. Painting windows can be tricky and they did a beautiful job. Any questions we had were addressed right away and modifications we made/added mid-job were not an issue. Over 20 years ago I hired Dan Ross to do a specialty painting job in my then home. He did the painting himself and did a beautiful job, arrived on time, cleaned up thoroughly each night. I have never wanted to hire another painting firm since. Over the years the firm painted my home in Kentfield and now that I've moved to condo in Corte Madera, I continue to use this excellent firm. Dan may not do the painting himself anymore, but his team shares his work ethic and is as conscientious as he was when he did the painting. When I've needed a quote, Chris Brown has explained exactly what needs to be done to get the best results - sometimes just putting a coat or two on the walls is not adequate.
