I am a satisfied customer of Masters Pellet Stoves. Masters installed one stove and has maintained it for three years. It's an older stove with 20+ years but they keep it running great. I had a newer stove installed by a different company about a year ago. What a mistake. I will tell you why. Today I called that company to help me troubleshoot an error I was having with the stove. The gentleman I spoke to literally told me he had no clue what was going wrong. My husband and I bought a home in August that had a pellet stove already installed. Lo and behold, when the cold weather hit and we needed to use the stove, it did not work. I called on the Monday before Thanksgiving and spoke to a very kind and knowledgeable woman who tried to troubleshoot the problem with me over the phone to see if I could do without a service call. Nope - the problem was bigger than that, so she scheduled someone to come out the day after Thanksgiving. The two technicians who came out called ahead of time and were, in fact, two hours early due to a cancelation in their schedule. They came in, put down a protective cover on the floor and started to get to work. They knew their job, they were polite and very friendly. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it in short order. I was extremely satisfied with the quality of work, the level of professionalism by the service men, and the overall high-quality customer service I received. We will definitely be using masters Pellet Stoves for all our stove maintenance needs! read more

EXCELLENT! We recently moved into a condo with a pellet stove and had no idea how to operate or what would be a customary price for removing and selling the stove. Called the MASTERS and have to say thats just what he is!! Patiently, talked me through firing up the stove to see if it works, it did. Provided a general quote for removal. I called Masters Pellet Stoves because my stove wasn't catching fire and it was getting cold inside my house. The Technician that came out was prompt, very professional and very knowledgeable. He diagnosed, cleaned and repaired the auger motor which was jammed. I'm more than pleased with this company and will surely call them again for future issues with my pellet stove. This is the type of service I received from this company. I emailed this yesterday & no response maybe he will respond to a review :) September 29, 2016 Mark, I am reaching out to you in regards to the service I received from your company yesterday. Dissatisfied would be putting it mildly. The appointment window I was given was 10-12pm. Your technicians showed up at 9:30 with no call to advise they were coming early. The came into my home & i showed them my pellet stove. I was told by your "supervisor" that they don't like working on these models because they are made and China and basically said they were cheap. He then looked at my pipe outside & said it was not up to code that it was 8inches off of the ground and code would be 2 feet. I asked him what needed to be done to rectify it and he stated that the pipe would need to be extended. After warning me that the house could potentially burn down and my homeowners would not cover it. I asked if that could be done while they were there & he said no. Let me mentioned that I could barely understand him his English was not great. Not sure why you would have him speaking to customers when you had someone with him that spoke better English. A little while later he came back in and stated he talked to his boss & they could go & buy the pipe and could come back & install it for $795.00. I told him NO WAY. The helper proceeded to clean my pellet stove while your supervisor sat in his truck and text messaged, ate his breakfast & talked on the phone. Wow.... Anyway, a 15 minute cleaning job they stretched to 50 minutes. I asked why I was being charged for 1 1/2 hours ($179.00) and they stated it didn't matter if it was under I still had to pay the full amount. Then I walked out with the helper when he was done and I noticed a bunch of ashes underneath the pipe outside and I asked if they were going to clean that up and he said no they don't do that (i have attached pictures). I asked him if the pipe outside was cleaned and he said his supervisor did it. I went back and looked at my security cameras and the supervisor was outside my home for 45 seconds that included the time it took to walk back to his truck to leave. I am greatly concerned with the integrity of your company. The pipe to be extended outside would most likely cost less than $20.00 which I will have done but not by your company. Lord knows how may elderly or less knowledgeable people your company has ripped off with your scare tactics. I don't appreciate having to watch your "supervisor" sit outside and eat while I am paying for a service. I will be sure to let others know about your shoddy services so you don't claim another victim. I want nothing from your company & I have no problem paying for services rendered but it doesn't feel good to get ripped off. read more

We bought our pellet stove 4 years ago and haven t regretted it one bit. The Masters team installed the Empress insert and a stainless steel flue in the existing chimney. They custom made a piece of steel to use as a back drop because the opening in my fireplace was a little wider than the largest stove insert. It looks great. We ve had it cleaned a couple of times since then (supposed to be once per year) professionally and the guys were on time, thorough and neat. I paid a little over $3k (all in) for the Empress and it paid for itself after a year and a half when oil was around 2.50 per gallon. With oil costs rising and the reliance on unstable countries for foreign oil while our President continues his embargo of the Gulf of Mexico, I m happy to be able to pay $210 per ton of pellets made here in America. It takes about 4 tons per year to heat my 3000 sq. ft. home. That s $840 or about one load of fuel oil that would last 6 weeks. read more

Giving them 2 stars because they installed our stove (outside purchase), corrected mistakes of previous contractor, and got it running. Their customer service is another story. An estimate was given to install our stove with our own vent kit, the estimate said "all piping included." My husband was then told he was going to have to purchase 2 more pieces of piping (they were unable to explain the discrepancy in the estimate). They ended up bringing the piping and charged us extra at the end (adding $5 on top because of incorrect math). When Domingo arrived to install the stove, he looked at the estimate, shook his head and said "really?!" like it was underpriced. I was then told that our stove was cheap and we were going to have all kinds of problems with it. He said he forgot to bring pellets to test the stove so I was going to have to run out and get some if I wanted it tested because he was "not charging for trips back and forth to the hardware store." When I got back, I was told the piping on the outside of the house was on an angle. When I looked outside, the pipe runs on a slant up our house. We also had discussed having a screen on the piping to prevent birds and other animals getting in and it was not there. When I called to inquire about these issues, Mark again told me that our piping was "cheap" (so as not to continue to offend me, he altered his language to say "grade B") so there was no screen included in our vent kit and that the pipe had to be crooked so we could get our hand under it to clean it. He said it should be an inch above the ground (I measured, it was not) and when I told him it was not, he said he "looked at a picture and it was okay." I said that if he would have explained the problems with using our vent kit we would have used his materials. He asked me what I wanted him to do. I said that he could resolve my biggest issue by straightening the pipe. He was not interested in hearing about it and ended the conversation by laughing and hanging up on me. I have requested a refund of the $5 overcharge, which I am really requesting as a matter of principle now, but have not heard anything from him. I am generally willing to overlook minor discrepancies if the company is doing the best they can to work with me. At this point it is clear he is not willing to do anything to resolve my issues.  Apparently once paid, customers don't matter. Especially "cheap" customers, right Mark? As an aside, Domingo's assistant was very polite. read more

Avoid this business at all costs! Repeat, avoid this business at all costs. Mark the owner lies about how unreliable the pellet stoves he sells are. You will end up paying more for parts after you buy stove than the original cost of stove. He also lies to customers about providing an extended warranty. There is no extended warranty available. He will tell you there is an extended warranty available through him. Then after your warranty expires he makes a killing selling you all the parts that go bad along with his additional charge for installing the parts. read more
