Went in for wheel alignment check, as my car pulls more than it should. They drove it didn't seem to feel the it was that bad, but tweaked it anyway, saying the issue was resolved. Well, my wallet got lighter and still she pulls. I don't appreciate being taken for a ride. I have always thought that wheel alignment was the biggest scam out there. It's hard to find a place that can do a spot on wheel alignment, believe me I've looked. Had these guys do an alignment, wheel balance and a rim change out for me and they did a great job. Wow, the service at Mastic Wheel Alignment is first rate AND honest. I took my son's 2012 Ford Escape there to check out a loud muffler sound. My son was heading off to Binghamton college upstate and I was concerned about exhaust leaking into the cabin. I left the car there to be checked. 2 hours later I got a call from Dennis who said that he checked the muffler on the lift and found nothing wrong. He said that the Ford Escapes have loud mufflers as they get older. When I asked how much do I owe for the work, Dennis said "nothing". Feeling that I got good, honest service I gave him a tip and went home happy. read more

The owner I believe is honest, but his son is very unprofessional. I had an appointment to have an alternator replaced. I paid to have it towed in and was berated by the owner's son that they should not of taken the job due to the amount of labor it required, all of which I did not complain about or dispute. I offered a suggestion that might minimize the amount of labor it would take while stating it was ok to still charge me what the book states. The son angrily stated to me" I'm a master mechanic, I don't need your help!" then walked away from me into the shop to berate me more to his workers. I went home to call another tow shop to bring my truck somewhere else and was told they couldn't get to it until the late afternoon. I drove back to their shop a couple of hours later and saw they were working on it, so I canceled the tow. But the story gets better. They call me the next day to tell me there is a problem with my transmission. I am told that an employee test drove it and the transmission began slipping. He returned to the shop and they checked my fluid level which they state was ok. They went to back the truck out of the shop and there was no reverse gear and in fact the truck only went forward in all the gears neutral included. To say I was a little suspicious is an understatement because my truck is a 2010 Tundra and does have 118,000 miles but there was never any indication of transmission wear, slipping, or failure prior to bringing it to their shop. The owner Carl took $200 off my bill of $755 which included an oil sending unit and a tensioner, the alternator and belt I supplied. I appreciated the gesture by the owner but I am now paying an extra $3600 for rebuilding a transmission that was not faulty when I gave it to them. Needless to say, I brought the truck to a transmission shop that is highly reputable and they also were puzzled by the transmission failure. If I had not had such a bad experience with "Joe" the son, perhaps it would of been easier to chalk all this up to coincidence. read more

They replaced the serpentine belt and pulleys on my '95 Nissan Maxima 2weeks ago($600) Then yesterday, while driving home from work, I began to notice a burning rubber smell and the car stalled. Upon inspection i noticed the belt was off. They towed it ($50) back to their shop. They had the audacity to tell my wife that it had nothing to do with the belt. They said a fuse had blown. After we pressed them, they treated us like we were morons. Will NEVER take a car there again. It says alot about a business that will perform shoddy work and then attempt to cover their shoddy work with lies and a crap attitude. No integrity. read more

I recently took my 2004 Honda Odyssey there as I had vibration in my steering wheel. I just had the tires rotated and balanced at Costco where I originally bought the tires. After getting the van back from Costco and being reassured the tires were in great shape, the vibration was even worse. Last Saturday I took the van to Mastic Wheel and Alignment. After looking at the van, they clearly explained to me the Michelin tires I had were completely shot. They were so bad that two of them were near blowout stage. They were also starting to dry rot on the inside. They were very clear explaining everything and I had 4 tires and a 4 wheel alignment done for $825. Their prices were very fair and the service even better. After having many bad experiences with several auto repair shops in the Moriches/Mastic area, I think I finally found one I like. I will definitely be going back and hope the great service continues. From the first phone call to make the appointment to getting my van back, the experience was a great one!!! Brought my jeep in for an inspection, and they broke 2 wheel keys and chiseled off my wheel lock before they called me to ask if they should chisel of the lock. They chiseled my rim in the process and dented the center cap. Then they gave my wife a hard time when she said not to touch it my husband will be right their. All they had to do was ask me to loosen the wheel lock, the tool was in the jeep and I had no problems loosening or tightening them by hand. They used the impact gun and broke my property and then tried to get my wife to OK damaging my jeep so they could do the inspection after they already did the damage, and then gave her a hard time when she told them not to touch it and I'd be their in 10 min. Then they told me my rim was already like that and that they weren't going to pay for any damage. I filled a police report but my only option is to take them to small claims cause the damage is under $1000. read more

My daughter brought her car there for an inspection, a brake job, and a hose clamp. They said there were more things that were needed on the brake job, for which we gave approval. They also said they could not pass her car for inspection because she had four bald tires and that they could sell her four tires for $89 each and put them on for her. My husband knew we could get tires for less than that, so he told them to forget about the inspection and that we would do that after we get the tires. That evening, when my husband and my daughter went to pick up the car, they had found that she was charged over $400 for the brake job and the hose clamp replacement, far more than we expected. She paid for it, and went to drive her car home. She had found her car parked outside with the hood still up, which was strange because it had been raining. She put the hood down, started the car, and it stalled. She couldn't get home, and they were closing, so she had to leave it there and have us pick her up. The next day they called and said her distributor was shot and denied its having anything to do with the hood being up in the rain. They quoted us $285 for THIS job, and again, we had no choice but to approve it. Well, when my husband brought our daughter there again, they found a bill for $450! My husband asked about this discrepancy, and they said that was just for the part. PLUS, they suddenly decided to do the inspection ANYWAY and charge another $21! My daughter has now spent about $1000, more than she makes in two weeks of work, and still has bald tires. Plus, ever since the "repairs" her electronics aren't working right either--her windshield wipers, her radio, etc. We're afraid to bring it back now because they would probably charge her all kinds of money that she doesn't have. The bottom line is that after about 27 years of our loyal business, and three cars in our family, they have just lost our business for good. read more
