NEW MANAGEMENT PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. After being a customer of this place for 20(? More?) years and having nothing but fine experiences I have had nothing but problems. They charged me for work they did not do. When I called and asked they said they did not have the right part (fine? But tell me that and don't charge me for it?) Then it took them Over a Month and multiple calls and texts to get the replacement part. My tire pressure light was on when I picked up the car (that wasn't on when I dropped it off) - They said the sensor went bad and that it was not their fault. Owners seem like nice people but who have no idea what they're doing and the mechanics are rude and dismissive. read more

brought my car in for a simple issue to be fixed. when. I went to pick it up the drivers side seat wouldn't move so I couldn't touch pedals it was so far back. it was electronic adjustments so I couldn't fix it myself. I went back to mention it to them and they gave me such a hard time saying that they had nothing to do w it and it would cost me a lot more for that problem to be fixed now. there was no problem w the seat adjustment when I originally brought it in! I had to get a big guy to go in on my behalf and talk to them about it. turns out their mechanic knocked a dime in the cigarette lighter which shorted out the electrics on that side of the car. they fixed it but what a nightmare getting them to own up! won't ever go back! read more

Awesome NEW OWNER and TEAM!!!! My catalytic converter was shot for like a year so I knew I had to get a new one. I called them up and they got me in the same day. The new owner Syng and manager Jean called and got parts for me and they even dropped me off and picked me up. They worked with me on the price and were very honest and thorough. Although I no longer reside on Long Island I was a client of Maximum Automotive since they opened. I also was a customer of George when he was a Service Manager at another shop. I have known George for what seems like forever. George and his team have been great to me & my wife (and our many cars) and have always been treated fairly, & honestly. Maximum Auto is not only in the auto care business but establishes a relationship with his customers. He also has taken care of our kids cars before and during their college years. Here is a story I will never forget. My entire family was in Florida on vacation when our SUV had a major breakdown at Universal Studios. It was pretty upsetting and AAA towed my car to the closest shop. When I got the estimate to fix my car I was devastated as it was in the thousands. I called George (as he was very familiar with my car) and I thought the cost was really high. George contacted the owner of the shop and spoke to him explaining what should be done and what was a rip off. My estimate was significantly reduced and I got my car back in one piece the next day. When my daughter needed a car for college he made it his mission to find a used car that was safe and reliable. My daughter had the car for many years driving back & forth to Maryland. George & his team took care of it till she moved to Ca. Get that type of service anywhere else? Not happening. Maximum Auto develops relationships not turn & burn. I had been going to this shop for many years with complete satisfaction until it was sold to the current owners. I was charged a lot of money for repairs another shop owner told me were never done. When I called to see how they would fix this situation, I was told my car was never there, meanwhile I was looking at the invoice. He never once asked me for the invoice #! Thought this was a great place to have my 4 cars service UNTIL iI started checking on the price they were charging for parts. (some cases more than double!) One repair cost more than double the price from the local dealership another on a German car cost 50% more than the dealer. I know that dealers often charge more than independents and this guy charges way more that that! I now bring my cars to the dealers where I feel i am getting a reasonable price. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I took my vehicle in for an inspection and they failed me stating that I didn't have front brakes. My husband had just changed the brakes. As if that wasn't bad enough, the mechanic is a pervert! He continuously looked at my breasts and my body from top to bottom! All the cars on the lifts were having new brakes put on. I have been going to this shop for many years. George was always reliable and fair. Unfortunately, George sold the shop. The new guy in charge is not going to last long. He did not call me to report what service he recommended with a cost estimate. He just went ahead and did what he felt the car needed. The bill was over $800 and he thinks he gave me a bargain for being a good customer. All that was done was a transmission service with new fluid, 4 spark plugs and two air filters. $800. They also changed the oil which was completely unwarranted. There was a sticker on the car showing that the oil change was recently done. They agreed not to charge for the oil change so the $800 does not include this. It is also suspicious whether the transmission service was needed at all since Subaru's maintenence schedule does not recommend this until 100K miles. The car has 52K miles. When I tried to discuss fact that three and a half hours of labor seemed excessive for what they did, Drew (the new guy) became rude. He has certainly lost me as a customer and probably my close neighbors as well. Very frustrating. read more

Do not recommend this place, I brought my car there as an emergency since my mechanic was unavailable and I was robbed. Over $100 of my property was removed from my car and the owner refused to let me talk to the man who worked on my car, nor did he go talk to him himself to get to the bottom of where my belongings were. He showed no interest that I was upset. I didn't drive off the lot and go else where, I got into my car from their parking lot and checked my car since I know what I leave in there. Since I trust my machanic I didn't think to take my stuff out but I sure as hell will now if I have to go somewhere else. This was very disappointing and I hope it never happens to anyone! For many years I went to a name brand, known for tires, for all my service needs. Yes they were friendly and knew me by name, but I couldn't just walk in with a problem without them asking if I had an appointment. I just started going to Maximum and they have been nothing less than stellar! Walked in one morning and asked about an inspection and how long it would take. I was out in 35 min. Been going here for car repairs for a few years. To be fair, sometimes the work performed was fine, but it's the other times that would sting in the wallet. The most recent experience will be my last with this shop. Brought my wife's car in for rough idle and oil leak. As a side note, within the last year, the shop had changed one of the car's fuel injectors and spark plugs(not cheap approximately $1,100.00). Well $735.00 later, I got the car back with the same rough idle,oil leak AND burning oil smell. Brought car back and owner said the car idles smooth and he doesn't smell the burning oil. Maybe the owner truly believes there is no problem, I'll never know, but this is very much not the case. I'm out $735.00 and won't ever be going back. read more
