This place has gone down since I originally started going here. Today, was my last day after my order. I ordered the Playa bowl, never had before but one of the only two options since everything else was out. When you order bowls you get 4 toppings for free. I asked for double bananas and chia as an option. I received my nearly $20 order in a plastic container. Let me add that I opted for the dine in option. Looking at the order, in which the server could barely look at me. I noticed the blob of frozen color ice topped with a few bananas and a drizzle of peanut butter and a splash of chia seeds. I asked for a top to the container and left as I knew it would take forever for the order to unthaw. I asked the person why didn't I receive the double bananas, he said the whole banana is the double. . So, the order came in a plastic container , drizzled with a few toppings to save costs? Mind you, I've been here before. The bowls are served in a bowl and toppings are spread throughout. With the server packing everything in a small container, they saved on their end. Mind you I didn't ask for the full toppings. Horrible!! I made a target run and finally made it home and the bowl was still a huge BLOB with a few toppings. I purchased one full banana from target to add to my order to make it worth eating. The bowl btw was not good! Super adorable place! I think about half the people there were dressed up cute to take Instagram pictures with their drinks lol. clean and welcoming inside with comfy seating. Drinks are $$$ but extremely unique, you wont find anywhere else. They don't have dairy, just plant based milk in their drinks which as a cow-milk-supremacist I was skeptical of, but I got the purple haze and it was delightful, I didn't miss the dairy at all! We were in the city for my daughter's wedding last weekend, and my son and his girlfriend found this charming little place to stop for breakfast. It's beautifully decorated in lavenders and soft greens with lots of quirkiness. If you're into matcha, you'll be in heaven. Once I saw this place was everything matcha, I knew I had to check it out! I visited the Sunday before their actual grand opening in the West Loop. The decor is unbelievable and "so Instagramable". Definitely super cute and picture friendly interior/food/drinks, but I personally would call this a one and done experience (although grateful to have gotten to try it out nonetheless!) We got the matcha horchata, matcha lemonade, bruschetta toast, and Nutella toast. My bf had ordered a bubble waffle, but 20+ minutes after we got our drinks and I already received my toast, there was no sign of the waffle. He went up to ask and they said it was almost done. A few minutes later, he went up and they told him that there were no more eggs left? Kind of strange to have a 20+ minute wait, and then say that it's almost done when there isn't enough of a main ingredient. The drinks were pretty, but there wasn't anything special about them. My bf said it tasted like powdered lemonade with no matcha, and my horchata was okay albeit kinda strange because there were a bunch of chunks (oat milk chunks?) in each sip. The bruschetta toast was also just okay. If you're expecting something other than whole wheat toast straight from a grocery store bag, then you may be disappointed like I was. The drink looked pretty and inviting, however, it fell short on taste. The ube dominated the bottom half of the drink and the matcha the top, with the two flavours struggling to physically mix together even with whisking. It tasted watery, more like an agua fresca de ube rather than an Iced Matcha Latte with ube as a component. Atmosphere was nice with good seating and nice decor. However, with Matcha in their name, expectations fell a little flat. Didnt try the food options, some looked okay, but prices were a major deterrent, $5.35 for an egg and cheese empanada is pretty high compared to other neighborhood spots with more authentic fillings. read more

Had the best first experience here today! First off, the decor is SO cute and inviting. Love the vibe of the whole store. The menu is a great size. They have plenty of drinks and breakfast/lunch items. I got the Bluetiful Latte with Matcha, the Pink Senorita (Dirty), Avocado Lox Toast, and the Pitaya Smoothie Bowl. Service was phenomenal! The girls were so helpful, kind, and happy to recommend the most popular items. The Bluetiful Matcha was amazing. Was so excited to try this place as I am a big Matcha lover! I always make my own matcha lattes at home. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. I think this place did an excellent job of branding and promoting themselves on social media. The aesthetic is very cute and photographable. The space inside is small though, with no tables but some seating. On to the drinks. I got the pink seniorita - dirty, which means a shot of espresso. The espresso flavor was overpowering. I could not taste any of the other flavors except for some sweet aftertaste which was maybe due to the coconut milk. The purple haze was better, just make sure you thoroughly mix it or you will only be able to taste the matcha at the top when you first drink it. As much as I wanted like matcha cita, I was very unimpressed. While the store is incredibly cute and Instagram worthy, the drinks and bowls were not great. We got two drinks, the purple haze and pink senorita. The pink senorita was overpowered by the coconut milk and I really did not taste any of the matcha or strawberry and pitaya. I only took two sips and didn't like it. My bf got the purple haze and he likes nearly everything but he didn't even like his drink either. When our pitaya bowl came out it was very watery and the worker even mentioned it and said she could remake it for us but it already took a while for it to come out and we didn't have time to wait for a new bowl. Honestly she was right it was very watery and we got a straw to drink our bowl rather than eating it. Also another couple ordered the purple haze drinks after us and they got their drinks before my bf got his which was weird since my pink senorita was already done too? We wanted to try their matcha waffle but they were out of batter but I guess that is a good thing. It's so exciting that Chicago has an all matcha spot. The space is small so it gets crowded quickly. But, the inside is so pretty and has a couple areas that are nice for pictures. They have teas, lattes, coffee, açaí bowls, avocado toast, and other food items. I got the classic iced matcha with oat milk and it was delicious! I came here around opening time on a weekday and was a little sad that the Matcha Horchata drink was sold out. Nevertheless, I gave in and went for the iced Matcha Chai. How was it? Well, it was very much iced, I wasn't able to taste much of the flavor and it was overpriced for the quality of what you get. Okay, I got to taste some of the flavor but only when I got to the bottom 1/3 of the cup. The next time I come in, I'll go for a hot vs iced option to see how the flavor flies. Also had to try one of their smoothie bowls. Got matcha with the toppings mango, coconut flakes and blueberries. Very filling and it took me two separate times to finish it. Pretty good! Wish they had chairs and tables outside. I think they'd be able to fit some? But I'm unaware of permits and such in the area. Experience: Yea, like plenty of people, I came here because of the Tik Tok hype. Staff was nice and professional. However, I suggest coming here during the week to avoid crowds. For two drinks, I didn't wait too long. I can't imagine when there is a lot of people because it is such a small place. Parking: Finding a spot was not too bad. However, I just put my hazards on and quickly ordered and grabbed my drinks. This may be a risk because some meter maids still ticket you for that, so fair warning.
