This matcha spot is so cute, the decor is well done and there's a few tables / bench space worth of seating. Only street parking from what I could see There were a lot of great options and I went with the mango sticky rice option. Overall it was very good but I do wish it had a little bit more flavor to it. I only got mango tor the first few sips and then the rest tasted like a watered down version of matcha. Overall good experience and wouldn't mind going back to try other options. I was able to place the order with the employee and they were fast and efficient getting my order to me. read more

The matcha we had here was such a treat! I was with my husband in Seattle for the weekend and we decided to give this place a try, it did not disappoint. The decor is bright, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing, with a playful modern edge. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have fun drink options to choose from. We decided to go with the Fruity Pebbles Matcha, and oh my! This matcha will live rent-free in my mind forever. It was flavorful, creamy and absolutely delicious! Not too sweet. My husband almost ordered a second one there because it was just perfection. We also had the Matchamallow which comes with a roasted marshmallow. This was also an excellent drink, it was creamy but less sweet than the fruity pebbles. It was also great. We ordered both drinks with Oat Milk. Overall, we loved the drinks. Purple Haze - highly recommend you pair it with their house-made almond milk or oatmilk. Love the hint of lavender and the taste of a ube matcha. I totally understand why it's one of their favorite. Matcha horchata - again with oatmilk or the almond milk made it so much better. Not only it looks pretty, it has an flora matcha taste too. We tried the Hojicha horchata too and that one might be even better than the matcha version. read more

OBSESSED. fully, completely, embarrassingly obsessed with this place!! the fruity pebbles matcha was INSANELY good. so creative, so fun, so unique. honestly the hardest part of the whole experience was choosing because ALL the flavors looked incredible and i needed like 10 more stomachs. the baristas were super cutie and sweet too, which adds so much to the vibe. you can tell people actually care about what they're making here. if you love matcha and fun and joy as a concept you need to come here immediately. 10/10 no notes. read more

First time at Matcha Magic was an incredible experience! The shop itself is super adorable, with the most inviting interior and very matcha-y colors. Since it's a Monday early afternoon, there was no line. The staff were warm, welcoming, and gave me suggestions for which drink to choose. I tried the Matchamallow and it was delicious. Yay another dedicated matcha place in Capitol Hill! I've already had their location in Bellevue so why not give here a try too? As with their other location, it's pretty cute and cozy inside here, perfect to sit inside on a rainy, gloomy day like the Friday afternoon around 5pm that I arrived here at. You order up at the front, and utensils and starws are also up there too. Their fruity pebbles matcha is a Capitol Hill exclusive drink, so I got that one. According to their menu, they use 100% ceremonial matcha - which I could clearly taste the grassy tones in my drink - along with an oat-based house-made cereal milk and the fruity pebbles cereal sprinkled on top. Matcha tones are there as mentioned but the extra sweetness in the oat milk makes the drink sweeter than it needs to be, and that doesn't even factor in the fruity pebbles themselves. As with cereal and milk, the fruity pebbles get soggy quickly, so I actually had to grab a spoon and open the cap to actually eat the cereal. interesting matcha-based drinks near Cal Anderson and a calm place to chill at! read more

Edit: tried the Capitol Hill exclusive Fruity Pebbles Matcha and loved it! The only thing I didn't quite enjoy was the soggy fruity pebble toppers, but everything else tastes great! I also tried the banana cream and I loved it! It has banana chunks and the matcha was not overpowering, just the right enough sweetness and matcha flavor. So many flavors of matcha! I love how they make their own purées and have "potions" with added nutrients. They also have matcha smoothies which sounded interesting! Parking can be difficult to find, but managed to get lucky. The strawberry matcha was my favorite. It's better than the one Starbucks just came out with. Blueberry was good and had a blueberry jam type flavor. It only took about a couple minutes for the drinks to be ready and they had a couple of tables to chat with a friend. They offer a good selection of snacks along with both matcha and hojicha options, and I appreciated that they actually explain the differences between the two -- a nice touch if you're not super familiar. Matcha Magic is truly a must-try matcha place!! I've been getting matcha burnout lately, because of all the new places capitalizing off the trend, but Matcha Magic was genuinely a breath of fresh air. They have many unique drink flavors that you can't find at any other matcha store, seasonal drinks, and they even have a location specific drink! I love their unique "Potions" that utilize earthy ingredients that pair beautifully with the matcha. My favorite thing about Matcha Magic is that you can really taste the matcha, and it isn't overly sweet or overpowered by the added flavors. I find many of the new matcha places lack a strong matcha flavor, but that isn't the case here. Matcha Magic also offers other menu items, such as smoothies, acai bowls, toasts, and cookies. For their grand opening, we were given free cookies, and I can confirm they're also very good. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable, in my opinion. The drinks are all 16oz and between $6 - $8. Many of the other matcha places I've been to will charge $8 for much less. Their store front is also adorable! It's very spacious and has seating to chat with friends or to do work. The staff were also extremely friendly. Not only do they serve great drinks, but they also donate 5% of their sales to Ladies Who Launch: a non-profit organization on a mission to empower a global community of women and non-binary entrepreneurs by providing educational resources, funding, mentorship, networking, and community. Definitely come support this business! I will be back to try their other menu items. read more

The drinks are really smooth and I love that you can still taste the matcha despite the other flavorings. The service was also super nice and they were offering free cookies for their grand opening! I really liked the fruit pebbles matcha. The fruity pebbles infused milk tasted super nostalgic and I liked that it wasn't too sweet. The iconic flavor of fruity pebbles blended really well with the slight bitterness of the matcha and created a really balanced drink. I don't really believe in adaptogenic mushrooms but I tried the matcha magic latte and the mushrooms added a really interesting flavor. The umami and earthiness of the mushrooms amplified those qualities of the matcha and created a slightly sweet and deeply savory drink. My new favorite matcha spot! I've visited both this location and the one in Bellevue, and both have been consistently great. I love that they offer so many different flavors, but the strawberry matcha is my favorite. The strawberry purée adds the perfect touch of sweetness while still letting the matcha have that tea taste. I've tried other places where the matcha tasted watered down or overly milky, but this one gets the balance just right. The wait for Matcha Magic is finally over! Visited on a Saturday noon to try their matcha for my craving. Drinks: There's a menu right outside of the store before entering. The menu was informative about the ingredients of each drinks. The sweetness is adjustable if you have specific preference. I opted for the Lavender matcha with 1.5 pumps of sweetness and it was perfect for me! (I personally don't like my drinks too sweet) Pricing: Each drink is around $7-8, which I think is typical pricing for Capitol Hill. Ambiance: Modern, clean and cute store. Great to get a matcha and hangout with friends. It's featuring this flamingo themed as you would see within the entire store. The Cloudy Coconut Smoothie was really pretty, but flavor-wise it mostly tasted like sweet almond butter with some banana coming through. I have been to their Bellevue location and I am glad to see this place opening closer to where I live. Located in Capitol Hill, this place specializes in matcha, as the name suggests, with many different variations. Some of these variations are quite unique, like the fruity pebbles matcha which is Capitol Hill exclusive, which I opted to try. The drink itself is solid, with good quality matcha, but the cereal oat milk drowns out the flavor of the matcha. It does complement well with the matcha, but you are drinking a glorified cereal milk. For $8+tax, it is a pricy drink, and I would opt for a less sophisticated matcha drink the next visit. read more

I honestly did not think I would like the matcha from here but was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the strawberry matcha for me & my friend and really enjoyed it! I was able to taste the matcha and the strawberry puree was the perfect balance to add some sweetness but not too much. I went early so there were no other customers so the drinks came out fairly quick. The cafe itself was super cute also. I tried the Matcha Julep and my friend got the Strawberry Matcha. We both agreed that the darker matcha colors gives off more of the earthiness of matcha. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. The coffee shop feels huge, very open with all of the windows and modern. This is also a great location to work remotely if you need to get some work done. I ordered a vanilla latte which had beans on the acidic side and was excellent. Definitely recommend stopping by this coffee shop if you are in downtown Seattle near the convention center.

I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.

The drink came together very well, the oat milk was creamy and the espresso was very rich. All in all, I think this is a cool place to work and catch up with friends. I might read or journal here, but depending on the day and the lighting it can get a little dim for that. I'd come back again.

It made the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. As a local, I expect better consistency and customer care. For some reason, you get a much better experience both in service and quality at Victrola on 3rd & Pine in Capitol Hill & Pike. At this point, I don't plan on coming back to this location.

Her kindness, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality made an otherwise difficult day a little easier. Great service can make a real difference, and she absolutely delivered. Salty's isn't the cheapest dining option at SEA, but between the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and the outstanding service, I think it's well worth it. No introduction, no recommendations, no plates cleared. When I asked for something as simple as pepper, I got attitude, like I was putting her out. I typically tip 25%. I left 15% and honestly felt that was generous for what I received. At these prices, the food needs to be executed properly and the service needs to match. The chowder alone isn't enough to carry a $60+ meal. Would I come back? Maybe for a cup of chowder at the bar. Not for the full experience.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!
