Ambiance: Located inside a large office/apartment building, Matcha Magic is bright and welcoming. Plenty of seating available for those that want to work or just relax and sip their Matcha Food: No food or pastries available when I visited, but plenty of matcha drink options. I chose the Mango Sticky Rice Matcha latte, and it was fabulous! You can taste the richness and quality of the matcha they used, and the mango was fresh and used real fruit! Service: The people working here were very friendly!

The mango sticky rice matcha was a creative offering and was not too sweet. Every other matcha place has the standard latte and strawberry matcha. It seems like there was an extra level of thought when it came to the menu. In addition to the very good matcha, the customer service was surprisingly excellent. The staff working the cash register was named Calista. She greeted the customers upon entry, smiled genuinely, took the time to explain the menu (and detailed what was not too sweet), added that it'll take just a few moments to make, and wished everyone a wonderful day (in addition to saying thanks). This used to be standard operating procedure back in the day (Millennials and older), and it's so rare to come across with these screens, robots, and Gen Z taking orders now. Nobody knows the art of true customer service and hospitality anymore. Thankfully, Matcha Magic has Calista on the team. Matcha spots are just a dime a dozen now. What stands out is true menu creativity (without going overboard) and genuine customer service with real human personality. It's ironic that this shop is down the street from a dozen buildings filled with tech worker drones.

Just happened to catch the end of their soft launch and grand opening on my trip to Seattle. I walked here from my hotel just about every day. I tried four matcha flavors - banana cream, purple rain, black sesame and mango sticky rice. The matcha isn't overly sweet, which is fine but I personally prefer a bit more sweetness. The presentation is nice and I like they have a variety of matcha flavors and smoothies. Highlights for me were the purple rain and black sesame. Those flavors complimented the matcha well. My least favorite was the mango sticky rice. Had a watery consistency that gave a juice vibe opposed to matcha. Decor is cute, staff is very friendly. I recommend!

So far, soooooo good! I tried the Purple Rain now twice, in honor of the legendary Prince! I think he would be proud. Just ordered a toast flight. I haven't tried it yet, but I love the option to try a few diffeeent ones to see what I like...hopefully they can do a Matcha flight. Went here with a friend! The banana cream matcha is smooth, the brûlée fun AND delicious. I got a ceremonial saemidori from Uji, which was clean and delicious. Not at all overbrewed.

I've been watching and waiting for them to open and it's finally happened! I love their Cap Hill location so I was over the moon that now I don't have to go up the hill for my favorite matcha. The menu seems to be the same as other locations though there's definitely new items to try too. When I asked they did not have a location specific drink like the others (yet?) and are still waiting on frothers for the hot drinks (all items are currently only available cold). I don't think they have a food menu running yet either as I didn't see it out. It's a super cute little spot though with lots of windows and indoor seating. It would be nice if maybe they consider outdoor tables in summer since they have a no dogs inside rule sadly. Will definitely be back and maybe hoping for a location exclusive menu item in the future!

I stay in this area for work every couple of weeks and usually stay at the Astro Hotel just a few blocks away, so I was excited to see this place had just opened. I've been a couple of times already, and everything has been great. They have a nice variety of matcha drinks, the avocado toast is fresh and delicious, and the açaí bowls are excellent. The staff has been friendly, and the atmosphere is clean, bright, and welcoming. I'm happy to have such a great breakfast and coffee spot within walking distance of my hotel. I'll definitely be back every time I'm in town! read more

I ordered the blueberry matcha with oat milk and it was a little earthy tasting I didn't really taste the sweetness of my drink til the bottom. Nonetheless, it was still pretty good. The customer service here was much friendlier than the Capitol Hill location. The space has less seating than the Capitol Hill location however it still has the same vibrancy of pink and green colors as the Capitol Hill Matcha Magic. Overall, I'd recommend Matcha Magic in South Lake Union if you're ever in the mood for matcha/are in the SLU area. read more

This place is soooo freaking cute, was super close to my hotel on a recent trip and it was a great way to start the day in Seattle. We went the day before and the day of their grand opening and both of the drinks we tried were amazing. In total we tried four drinks (two each), the matcha mallow, the blueberry matcha, the strawberry matcha, and my personal favorite the mango sticky rice matcha. The Matcha here is super high quality and doesn't have that bitter or overly processed taste that most franchise coffee/matcha shops have. Service was also super good, staff was super quick and very nice. And bonus points for the cashier remembering my complicated name from the day previous :) .Would definitely recommend this shop to anyone coming to Seattle. read more

I got their iced matcha latte with oat milk to drink inside. They use grassy, earthy ceremonial matcha here so that's a plus! It isn't sweet in any way and is in a relatively small cup for $8 before tax but you're not charged extra for oat milk as stated on their menu, which is yet another plus for those who are even slightly lactose intolerant. Drinks - mines and others who came before and after me - were made relatively fast.

Today, Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood reminds me a bit of Berkeley with its diverse, inclusive neighborhood vibe with tons of coffee shops throughout. Offline Coffee is further away from the hustle and bustle and is closer to residential area. The vibes are definitely Chinese-inspired, and their signature drinks are matcha-based or of the sweeter types. I am a coffee purist so I always go for the Americano. They serve a pretty bold and smooth Americano, which I like. For snacks, they have a honey-glazed, BBQ pork bun which is typical at dim sum restaurants and Chinese bakeries, but almost unheard of in a coffee shop. I loved every bite - a savory, protein-packed dessert. Be sure to get it toasted. Definitely plan on coming back to try their signature drinks. I like the brightly-lit, laid-back nature of the cafe. Pretty nice relaxing music too.

The decor was really nice and I liked the mural they had up. The staff were friendly and let us know about some of their popular drinks. I got the Salted Egg Yolk Coffee and it was very decadent and creamy. It complimented the strong coffee and had nice layering when sipped out of the top instead of through a straw. I got the drink without ice, and enjoyed it cold without ice later. The salted egg foam is so delicious, very creamy and pairs well with the slight earthiness of matcha. However, the matcha was a bit floral than ones I've had elsewhere - still good but not as strong. There are also banh mi available. When I come back, I may have to get a flight to try more flavors. There are lots of seating inside, and a couple tables outside - good for working and hanging out with friends.

After 20-30 mins of waiting we were told the kulfi was actually unavailable. The tables were all dirty with tea marks and the table we sat at hadn't been bussed from the previous party so half our space was taken up by dirty dishes. I understand that they might've been low of staff so we didn't mind that part. When our ice cream finally came, we were a bit shocked by the portion size. We got a grand total of 2 spoons of ice cream for $6 which was a bit ridiculous. looking at the portions of other food items at nearby tables, I would hope they strongly reconsider their portion sizing. Unfortunately I can't recommend right now, but I do hope they work on the feedback since they are so new, because the ice cream was actually quite tasty and I would've loved to have more!
