They did not notify me that my vehicle had been impounded, even though California law (Vehicle Code § 22852) requires timely notice. Instead of trying to contact me so I could pick up my car, it felt like they were more interested in letting storage fees pile up. From what I saw, they seemed quicker to move toward lien processing with the DMV than to actually get paid by the owner. Costs add up fast, and the longer your car sits there, the worse it gets. Most shops see this thing pull up and suddenly everybody disappears to 'lunch,' but not here. Maria and Cesar handled it like absolute veterans. Maria was at the front desk looking so good I almost forgot why I came in there in the first place. Customer service was flawless she had the whole place running smoother than my truck after the service. Meanwhile Cesar looked like the final boss of diesel mechanics. Dude walked up to the truck like he'd wrestled lifted suspensions in hand-to-hand combat before breakfast. I'm pretty sure at one point they needed FAA clearance to work underneath my truck, but somehow they got the oil change and fuel filter done fast, clean, and without launching a socket into orbit. Truck came back running perfect, no leaks, no problems, and no 'check engine light surprise package' two miles later. Small children look at it the way people look at monster trucks at a county fair. Most oil change places take one look at it and suddenly say things like "our lift is down" or "we don't service... aircraft carriers." Not these guys. They walked out, looked up at the truck like they were inspecting a skyscraper, nodded, and got to work like it was a completely normal Tuesday. One of the techs climbed up there like a Navy SEAL scaling a building. Next thing I know, oil change done, no drama, no weird upsells, and nobody needed a ladder from Home Depot. Truck runs great, still sits high enough to change the weather pattern in Glendale, and I'll definitely be coming back. 10/10. This shop has high ratings, and was close enough, so I thought I'd try them out. So, I brought them the car with rear pads and rotors, and in the process, they told me the front rotors and pads were also no good. While I usually order my own high quality parts, this was my fiancé's car and I opted to let them order and install the pads and rotors so it could be fixed before she started driving it again. Brake pads were not fitting properly on the front (product defect) which they didn't notice before returning the car to me in an unsafe state (it should've been clear, it made an audible knock when driving forward and reversing as the brake pads were shifting forward and back). The tires were put on and aligned, but the steering wheel is not straight and the car doesn't seem perfectly aligned, it doesn't drive fully straight. They charged $225 for front brake rotors and pads installed, and the same $225 for the rear (my trusted shop charges $165 front or rear and does a better job). To their credit, they did replace the faulty front pads and did not try to charge me for it, which is the only reason I'm providing a 2-star instead of a 1-star review. We have a GTI and there are metal GTI brake caliper covers on the front brake calipers; one fell off while we were driving not a few days later and caused damage to that wheel. I have never had this issue before, it wasn't loose before taking it to this shop. If it's the failure of clips or other wearable items, that should've been noted and replaced by this shop. Overall, I am thoroughly unimpressed with my experience with Barkley Tire & Service, and while I'm sure that others have had a better experience, this was very bad for me and I will not be back.

I just needed the clip that holds the bulb replaced in one light and both bulbs replaced to make them brighter, so the price seemed ridiculous compared to the work actually needed. Alex at Pro Automotive went above and beyond to find me the replacement clip without needing to order a brand new headlight enclosure from MB. He also let me order the bulbs on my own so I wouldn't have to pay extra for them and he was flexible to when I could bring my car in. Alex did a great job, was responsive, communicative, and saved me the $1,300 Carmax originally quoted me. I'll be back here for future maintenance appointments.
