Ford EcoSport Vin Number MAJ3S3KE5KC251311 Date of Vehicle Purchased April 2023, from Cleveland Ohio Ford Dealership. November 20, 2024. We had received multiple letters about a recall. The NHTSA Recalls Notice 2SV905. Ms. Dailey was on her way back from Monroe Michigan. In the process of her trip back to Ohio Her vehicle started to malfunction. This was due to the Oil Pump Tensioner belt. The vehicle was taken to Bauman Ford for inspection and repair. February 15, 2025. The vehicle had was picked up and the repair was completed. I was to believe that this recall was taken care of and the issue with the vehicle was solved. August 2025. Myself and my bf received another recall notice from Ford. This was recall notice NHTSA 23V905. This recall had to do with the belt tensioner arm would fail. This would call a loss of oil engine pressure ad this would put the driver at risk. Sunday September 21, 2025. My Bf was driving the EcoSport and made about five miles down the road and the vehicle engine stopped forcing me to pull into someone's driveway. I had the vehicle towed to Bauman Ford in Genoa 22110 OH-51 Genoa Ohio 43430. Monday September 22, 2025. I received a call from Bauman ford genoa service department. I talked to Todd. He told me that one of his technicians looked at my vehicle and that he believed nothing was wrong with the vehicle. I proceeded to go up and take the vehicle for a test drive it then stalled out and the vehicle was not mobile. I had the vehicle towed back for the second time to Bauman Ford Genoa. Tuesday September 23, 2025. After conferring with Mr. Disney Vacation Service manager, we got Ms. dailey a rental vehicle and Todd the service representative told me that it would be a purge valve. I was told that if I could retrieve a purge valve from one of the auto parts stores that he would put on the valve for $300.00. I then went to Oreilly's and retrieved a purge valve canister. I then returned to the dealership and he said it was the wrong part. I then proceeded Advanced Auto parts store and ordered the purge valve that was needed for the repair. Wednesday September 24, 2025. I proceeded to go to advanced auto parts and retrieve the purge valve for the 2019 ford EcoSport. I proceeded to the dealerships and Mr. Dailey told me that I again did not have the right part. I was then told that I would get the part at fords costs and it would be place on my car. Friday September 26, 2025. I received a call from Disney Vacation guy and he proceeded to tell me that the purge valve was placed on my vehicle and the vehicle would not start. Todd told me that the problem would have been associated with the active recall and I might need a long-term rental and I would be charged nothing. He then called me and said it was a crimped wire behind the battery. I am confused, so after all of this was it just a crimped wire? Was the purge valve actually bad? We still have an active recall but he did not seem to address the issue? I don't feel that I should be responsible for the bill which was around $557.44? If the wiring was bad why put in a purge valve? Mr. Todd Gordon also had times said he was not sure what the issue was? I am wondering was he guessing? I mean is my vehicle even safe to drive? I would like a full refund as myself and Bf are worried that is this vehicle safe to drive? Also, Mr. Todd Gordon said that your vehicle has to die in order for the dealership to give you a rental and place your vehicle in the que for repairs? I am wondering if something happens to myself of my bf who is responsible for any type of legal recourse for driving a vehicle around with an active recall? When the car dies it's a huge safety hazard? I would hope that this issue would be handled promptly and with professionalism that Mr. Todd Gordon displayed. I mean if I get an accident who is going to be held legally liable? Ford? My insurance? My bf? I am adding more proof that it was not the purge valve that was told to me by Todd Gordon. I called the service department and scheduled an appointment to get my tire repaired and to have a recall serviced. When I called them, I told them I had the tire and wheel warranty. They asked me when I wanted to come in and I told them. Fast-forward to the morning of the appointment, I drove the truck to the dealership and spoke to a service rep and stated why I was there. He asked me if I bought the truck from them. I told him no, and he said they couldn't honor the tire and wheel warranty because they have a hard time getting paid. I said if I would've known that, I would've never brought the truck here. The thing that I don't understand is even if I bought the truck there they would still have a hard time getting paid. I told him I had a different truck four years ago and didn't buy the truck there and I Had an issue with a tire and they replaced the tire without question. The rep told me that wasn't the case now. I said when I called yesterday, I mentioned I had the tire and wheel warranty and nothing was said about where I bought the truck. He asked me if I wanted to take the truck somewhere else. I said if you repair the tire, can I submit the paperwork to get reimbursed? He said I don't know how the warranty's work. Wow, so sad. The service reps don't even know how the warranties work. I guess because they don't honor them unless you buy a vehicle from them. This dealership has definitely gone downhill since the Bauman auto group bought them. I have received the worst service one could expect from Mathews collision center. I was recommended by my insurance to go to Mathews after a tree fell on top of my Truck. The accident happened on July 1, 2018. As of October 19, 2018 my truck still isn't repaired correctly. After 2 months I was told my truck was completely repaired. After picking it up and taking it home I discovered well over a dozen major/minor issues. I had peeling paint, broken glass all over the interior, incorrectly installed seatbelts, leaking sunroof, headliner falling down, door seals falling down, exposed wires, interior covered in over spray, outside of the truck was covered in over spray, incorrectly installed windshield wiper blade holders, pry marks left on body trim, glass blowing out of my air conditioned seats, ect. I returned my truck as soon as they could get me back in. While I was waiting for Mathews to schedule my return my truck sat through a few rain storms. During each rain event my interior got drenched from the leaking sunroof and failed roof seam. The water soaked my door speakers, ran into my dash vents, into my glove box, into my interior fuse panel box, and eventually onto my floor. After Mathews having my truck for another month I received my truck back for the second time. This time many of the issues we're repaired but still not completely corrected. I still had over spray paint all over the inside and outside of the truck. Loud wind noise from the sunroof. Wipers still incorrectly installed. When I took my truck back for a third time I met with both body shop mangers and a rep from my insurance. As we did a walk around on my truck so I could point out the continued issues the manager asked to buy my truck. I felt he understood this truck was really screwed up by there work and would be a problem truck for both of us for ever. I felt some relief that Mathews was finally going to make things right and do the right thing. Boy was I wrong. Dan the manager set me up with a salesman. They looked over my truck and offered me 15,000. I laughed because that's how much money Mathews had just put into my truck. I pulled up Kelly Blue book value and it had my truck between 19,000 and 23,500. They weren't trying to help me out. They were trying to rip me off more. Mathews was just trying to make more money of my misery. They came back to me and said there top dollar was 19,000. They refused to negotiate on the only truck they had on the lot that was in my price range. To conclude I have been with out my truck for 3.5 months. I have had to miss out on work and overtime having to run my truck back and forth. The stress and fustration from this has taken it's toll. Do your self a favor and never go to Mathews Ford Collision. read more

If I could give Mathews Ford 0 stars I would!! I applied for a car loan with them under their "credit amnesty" program. I was told that I would qualify. While we waited for over three hours, without my knowledge or consent, they ran my credit with various creditors 13 times!! They repeatedly ran my credit, applying for the next creditor without telling me what they were doing. All they said was, it will be "a while longer", leading us to believe that they were just doing paperwork. MY CREDIT TOOK A MAJOR HIT BECAUSE OF MATHEWS FORD!! The car is actually a 2012 Focus not a 2013. The dealership's customer service representative has only called once and left a message. I returned the call and had to leave a message. I never received a follow up call. I called again and was told that Judy (Customer Relations) was out and she didn't have a voice mail. What?? Or does she not want to deal with a dissatisfied customer? And, another slap in the face came last week from the bank. The paperwork that Mathews filled out and I signed was done incorrectly. They screwed up on the final cost so I now owe more than I planned on paying. I never agreed to the amount the bank is financing!! What else could go wrong here?? Well.. the part I ordered that they wouldn't fix, was suppose to be in last week, and I still don't have it. What is wrong with this place?? They just continue to screw me! Matthews Ford in Oregon put a friend of mine - a single mother of two - in a vehicle that they KNEW had a cracked head in it when they sold it to her! She hasn't even had it a few weeks!!! to make matters worse, now they're asking her to pay $6000 for a new motor OR trade the vehicle in with negative equity because of said blown motor! I have purchased new vehicles from Mathews in the past to my great satisfaction, however my recent purchase (May 31, 2016) of a '16 Ford Explorer has been disappointing. I purchased a tow package to be installed on the vehicle. The salesman, Mike Mullins, took my cell phone number for the express purpose of calling me the next day to schedule installation. He never called. We went back to the dealership one week or so later (June 9), to pick up my '08 Ford Explorer after 2K in repairs. I attempted at that time to schedule installation of the tow pkg. to the new vehicle with the service department. First, I was asked if the parts were in. How I would know that, I have no idea. Secondly, I was informed that they couldn't schedule it, that it could only be scheduled through the salesman and that they would have him call me. I informed them I had never heard from the salesman who initially promised to call me to schedule installation. Oh, they'd take care of it - they'll put the paperwork right on his desk and have him call me immediately. 3 business days later, two weeks after purchase, I have yet to hear from him or anyone. Additionally, the lift gate that is supposed to open by swiping my foot underneath the rear bumper doesn't work correctly. I pointed this out to the salesman, Mullins who brushed it aside as "touchy & you just have to get used to it." I have tried and tried, practically doing acrobatics behind my vehicle to no avail. I really wouldn't mind as there are redundant options to open the liftgate, but I paid $550 extra for this option. My call today to sales manager, Brian Shephard, went to voice mail. I explained all of the above frustrations and asked for a return call. Here we are at the close of the business day, and I have heard from no one: neither the salesman or the sales manager. The previous salesman I worked with years ago, Bill Duvendeck, was a class act and took care of everything, a large departure from the way this sale has been handled. I am very disappointed and do not recommend Mathew's Ford to anyone who expects respect, follow-through or business courtesy after a &39K purchase. read more

I wouldn't give them one star if I could. Had to get a new key cut for my car. They had me make an appointment. When I showed up to pick up my key and car, they tell me they couldn't cut the key because they forgot to get my license. They didn't try to call and didn't even think to when I ask why they didn't call. They tell it will be ready today. When I go to pick it up, they claim that the manager is the only one that can cut the key and he's off on Saturdays. This hour-long process will now take four full days. Avoid this bullshit business like the plague. Never again. read more

Least accomodating Ford service dept. we've come across in our travels. We were visiting from out of state, our vehicle had an idling issue, we made a reservation for service for the following day, using their online scheduling. We received a text and an e-mail saying we were confirmed for 11:30 next day. On arrival for our scheduled appointment we were told that they could not find us in the system, and sometimes the online scheduler doesn't synch with their system!?! They wouldn't fit us in - we asked if we could leave the vehicle there so they could check it the next day - the girl said it could be up to two weeks before they'd get to it - seriously! All we wanted was a diagnostic test - would have taken 5 minutes. Sorry doesn't cut it. We've had to have emergency work done at Ford dealerships in Texas while travelling, and they've always got us back on the road the same day - next day at the latest - and yes, one occasion was during the pandemic this year. We were able to get a diagnostic test done at an independent mechanic - despite how busy he was, he actually took the five minutes to help us out. read more

Updating my review based on the service department. We had our truck in there for an oil leak and were told they would order the part needed after they looked it over. A few days later the truck lost power and the engine began to rattle. We took it to a closer shop since it was running so rough and they checked the oil and the engine had no oil in it and we were lucky nothing major happened due to this. We called the ford dealership and asked if they even checked the oil due to the leak and the person on the phone started to give excuses and said they should have but he wasnt in the back when it was looked over. Had they actually checked it then we wouldnt have had the issues a few days later. We will never take our vehicle to this dealership for service. Avoid if you can!! read more

Their service department has terrible customer service. They changed their policy with loaner cars, which I scheduled for in advance, and I complained about it. They refused to service my vehicle over it. I also did not feel comfortable with the company's employee masking. I observed several employees with their masks around their chins, one with her nose not covered (CDC says the mask should cover nose and mouth) and others with masks so loose and to be ineffective. One of the most important decisions I have ever made was the kind of car I would be driving, taking into account fuel economy and the safety of my family. I have bought my last three vehicles from Mathews and have had a great experience each time. Unfortunately, my car (2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid) hit a trailer in my driveway (I was pretty sure I was in reverse...I wasn't..lol) and I was excited to find out that Mathews has a brand new auto body department (much better than what they had before) with new management. Dan Steinhauser took care of the car giving it back to me as good as new with one added bonus, it was detailed inside. So I pretty much got my car back better than before. The only problem I had was more of a positive... When I got my car back my ambient thermostat was not working (a result of my driveway collision) and Dan made sure that it was taken care of immediately. There isn't a perfect business out there but it's nice to know that a company has your back, making sure you get exactly what you want and more. It's that commitment to perfection of service that is worth 5 stars to me. read more

I had done some extensive homework the night before and knew specifically what I wanted to purchase from Mathews Ford. He says 'he'd have a guy look into it' and call me back. Waited 3 hours, no call. I then call back for a different sales associate. He looks up the car and says, "oh, that sold this morning." Nice move Dan. Be informed before you go into this dealership. Read up on any vehicle that you might be shopping for. I have tried many times over the years to purchase a vehicle from Mathews Ford in Oregon but in the end poorly informed sales associates push me to other dealers. I currently am interested in an electric vehicle which Mathews is supposed to be a certified dealer of (the focus ev) but I was told that they didn't have any to test out. They could, of course, order one if I purchased it. Keep in mind these are 35,000 vehicles. I was then showed a ford fusion energy, the sales manager told me it would travel 75 miles before it switched over to the gas engine. I doubted his clam since the volt only travels 40 miles on electric, and I have read how the fusion would out perform the highly talked about volt. ( fusion energy only goes 20 miles on electric) So they pulled the fusion up and I noticed it had exhaust coming out of its tail pipe, the range that was on the display was 1 mile. So I was never even able to test the electric mode out. I was offered to have the car for a day though. Asking price for 2013 fusion energy was 42 k. I received that price after a 10 min wait while the sales man went into the back room and had a "meeting" with the sales manager (yes it's that type of company) I was further told that the fusion had some rebates to go alone with it but they failed to say how much the federal tax credit was. ( for the energy it's 4k because the battery is so small.) So since I can't even test an Ev from one of the big three I have looked at the Nissan leaf, the salesman there was very knowledgable about the all electric cars. A couple of years ago I called about a fusion hybrid and was told those kind of cars are not for this area, they are for California Hope this was informative. read more

It took 17 days for a simple warranty repair. I had to initiate all contacts to the service department to get updates. Promised callbacks never occurred. Apparently service reps don't make outgoing calls. My experience is consistent with the purchase process. Items were added (wheel locks, pinstripe) without my knowledge thinking I wouldn't notice. When you are buying a car from here, make sure you do your research. I paid the price and still am. No warranty. As is. No carfax. I was told this specific car was only owned by an elderly couple that ordered it straight from the manufacturer brand new. NO accidents. I was dealing with not one, but a number of different salesmen (high turnover rate) including the manager who what it felt like intimidated me into buying it since I LOOKED younger. This car was overpriced just because of the brand on it and gave me next to nothing for my trade in. AFTER I had bought it (which is partly my fault) it went to hell seems like right as soon as I took it off the lot. Had this car checked out by our family trusted mechanic and this car had been in a serious accident. I have put thousands of dollars into fixing this car over only the past two years and now I owe more on it than it is worth. Yay! read more

Be informed before you go into service with your vehicle the Service Department is a joke! My truck is still in service a week after they told me it would be done, constant excuses and rudeness from their staff. I was speaking to an ANDY when he told me it would take an additional 3 days to complete my truck. At which point I told him that this is unacceptable and went on to ask for a manager and he stated, "Hey Patty this F&*Khead wants to speak to you because his truck is not ready. When I spoke to her she kept trying to make excuses as to why it is taking as long she also refused to speak about the fact that one of her employees just called a customer a F&*Khead and said that is not my problem that she will deal with him accordingly. Completely rude and disrespectful I am never one to leave comments I hope this helps someone in the future from making the mistake and taking in their car to their dealership and having to deal with the same lies and rudeness I was treated to. read more

purchased a 2013 new ford fiesta,after 20,000 miles the transmission started to shutter shifting between 1st and 2nd gear when starting out from a start,took it back for warranty work and they said nothing was wrong with it because it had no codes and pressures were good,went to another ford dealer and was told that ford had a problem with this automatic trans in these cars and that there was no fix available from ford unless the trans has a leak,and than replaceing the clutchs would only last another 20,000 miles,other dealer was truthful and didn't try to blow smoke up my ass,called and emailed ford several times and got the same run around.tryed tradeing it back in and the salesman told me they don't even try to sell somebody one of these cars unless somebody ask for one because they know they are junk,i did manage to trade it for a gm at a great loss,ford since has sent me a letter stating they were raiseing the warranty up to 100,000 miles on trans,so I believe they would not do that out of the goodness of there heart if they didn't know they have a severe problem,moral of story Mathews ford is a bunch of bullshiters,as is ford motor company read more
