We had such a pleasant experience yesterday at Mathis Brothers being helped by Erika. She showed us every dining table in the place only for us to choose the first dining set we saw at the front door. Not once did we ever feel pressured to purchase or rushed by this patient lady. Great price & be sure to checkout membership benefits. And, using our membership credit we had a surprisingly delicious meal in their Bistro before heading home. I purchased a custom couch from Mathis Bros in September 2024 at the Ontario CA store. Received the couch 11/1/24. This couch is as hard as a park bench. Unusable as is. I DID NOT order extra firm or anything like it. I have called numerous times to correct and have been put off and put off and put off. I am always told someone will call me back with NO results. The technician that came to my home to exam the couch explained the "core" was too hard and would be great in a doctors office, it would last 30 years. He said It would take about an hour to correct by switching out the "core" and I offered to pay for the correction myself. This is a $3,000 couch, not an $800 couch from a discount store. Stay away if you are ordering a custom anything that comes in different than what you asked for..... So frustrated!! read more

She said she will help me, and to write her an email with the subject "ATTENTION HOLLY". 24hrs goes by, and I don't hear from her. So I send a follow up email. She says she is working on it. Ok, cool, I can wait. A few days go by, and no word from her. I follow up again, she tells me the return has been approved. I reply, saying thank you and what do I need to do next? .. no response.... it has now been 10 days and no response.. terrible. The worst furniture experience I've ever dealt with. Please save yourself the time and hassle because they will make you jump through hoops to get your product to your home... I ordered a couch from this store.. first delivery day the product showed up damaged. They scheduled a new delivery day for me between the times of 3-6pm, I agree and arrange my date accordingly. I get a txt at 9am that morning stating my couch would be there in an hour. I scramble to get to my new home, when they finally set up the couch it's missing 2 cushions. I call multiple customer services, delivery services, and staff and all tell me different things. Finally they let me know the fastest my cushions will get here is 2 weeks!! I am beyond upset and frustrated with the service and business this company does. Please save yourself money and go somewhere else, it will save you so much time and hassle. Mathis Bros (they certainly act like bros) is a terrible place that sells low quality furniture that is dressed up to look expensive. Their showroom and design is meant to fool you into thinking you are in a high end place but they sell trash and their "customer service" is only focused on one thing: getting your money. If you want to show there stay away from Sejal Puri (one of their "associates") - she has mastered the art of getting you thinking she is a friend but she is only interested in her commission; once she gets that, she doesn't have any use for you. You will get stalked, bothered, and harassed by dozens of "associates" there. You might think "wow they are well staffed" but it is because they have so many people that are only working on commission (with maybe a token minimum wage to ensure labor laws are followed). These people are oriented (perhaps trained?) to pretend to be your friend but they only have one goal: steer you to the highest marked up product, get you to buy that, and add on as many more products as they can. We have now waited for almost two months for a couch for which they have already gotten their money - and Sejal has gotten her commission. Do we have it? Nope? Will we ever get it? Nobody can tell us. Daily calls to the "scheduling warehouse" (this call center is in Oklahoma City btw) get us "oh it will be in tomorrow" or "it will be there in two days". That has been going on for over a month now. I call back and get the "oh it will be in tomorrow" again and when I point out they've said that for weeks now I get the voice shrug. Last thing, I should've learned my lesson on the last sofa I bought from them which was nearly $2,000. It didn't even last five years with normal use. I've finally learned my lesson and will shop elsewhere. read more

Bedroom furniture purchased from Irvine store delivered damaged. Sales representative Mr Alavi was helpful with getting us into contact with customer service. However, customer service dropped the ball. We were scheduled for repairs only to find we did not "make it on the schedule". Two days of work were wasted because of the mismanagement of Mathis' customer service department. Once our service technician finally arrived, our furniture was repaired. The repair was satisfactory in hiding the damaged finish. I requested via phone and emails to communicate the issues with customer service. No one from Mathis returned my emails or calls. The only reason I left this review was to acknowledge Mr Alavi's efforts and Mathis' subpar customer service. read more

My wife, 2 year old son and I went in to look at patio furniture. Robert was our salesman and helped us out and answered our questions. We informed him we were ready to buy and he told us he had to go get his computer and would meet us back in the patio furniture section. I continued looking at some clearance office furniture then proceeded upstairs to the patio section area. I waited for about 10-15 minutes, and Robert never showed. I understand it's a massive showroom so I went to the front desk and asked if they could call Robert. One person said he didnt work and the other told me he was off. They still called him and Robert did in fact go home for the day. At no point did Robert tell me or my wife he was going to be off soon or even offer us a business card. He just totally left us hanging. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate. Mathis, I know my purchase of almost $3000 isn't much to you as a company, but its a lot to me! Roberts actions showed my wife and I your company doesn't care about its customers. Just left there today. I was looking for a bedroom set and was told they're located upstairs. I took the escalator upstairs. No additional assistance was given. Several sales people walked past me not offering any assistance/acknowledgment. I found a set I was interested in purchasing but no one took the time to ask if I needed help. I bought mattress from their clearance dept. I made sure that the bed is in good condition by lying in it many times. My husband did the same thing, we made sure that the bed is in good condition before we bought the mattress. I also bought the adjustable frame from the clearance dept. both items has the labels hanging on it. When the items were delivered to us, the delivery man told me right away that the bed is damaged. The upper layer of the mattress which is gel is smaller than the Bottom part of the bed. The delivery guy said he will leave the bed to us but will request for replacement: I agreed with him but when I did not hear from Mathis for a couple of days, I called them to ask for replacement. They asked me to come over a choose another bed but I have to add more money. I told them that the bed that was delivered to me is not the bed that I bought but of course I have no proof so Mathis did not replace the bed. I was given the round around so I decided to keep the bed that was delivered to me. I think their employees replaced my bed with defective bed but there was nothing I could do. I could cry... I'm debating between 2 and 3 stars because I actually do really like the furniture at Mathis (so I want to give credit where credit is due), and most of what I've bought has been really good. Customer service was good, options were good, etc. It's also the only furniture store I know with such a big selection. But the excessive drop in stars is because of how miserable I am with the mattress I got through them. I selected a really expensive mattress with them (after laying on every mattress in the store about five times each), and what luck-- that exact mattress was available on clearance! It was marked down from $3000 to $2500. I naively thought-- how great to save $500! Sign me up. NEVER BUY ANYTHING ON CLEARANCE. At least not mattresses. I knew it was going to be as-is since it was on clearance, but it seemed like it was in great shape and the card on it didn't state any significant problems. The mattress initially was the most amazing thing I've ever purchased in my life. It was heaven every time I laid down on it. I couldn't have been more over the moon about my new mattress once it arrived. After only one month however, the middle of it started caving in. I thought surely I was imagining it. I had to run by Mathis to pick something up, so I told one of the guys there the possibility that my brand new mattress, clearance or not, was potentially caving in already after only a month. He said to call Tony, my original salesperson, and... although clearance items are as-is... who knew, maybe he could help. When I got home, I instead tried to talk myself out of it caving in and chalked it up to my imagination. Four months later though, it's absolutely, no question, caved in. I called Tony, who told me to call customer service. I did, and I'm not sure the woman I talked to could've been less concerned with my issue. I told her I acknowledged that I bought an as-is mattress, but this seemed pretty extreme. I was nearly begging her to do something about it, as I just forked over a ton of money for this high-end mattress, and it only took a month for it to cave in. That seems excessive, even for clearance. She told me she'd reach out to the store manager and either she or him would contact me. I've yet to have heard a word from anyone. I now have a $3000 mattress that rolls me into the center of it. Aside from being caved in, the center that's caved in has flattened in a way that doesn't feel at all like how the mattress initially did. I usually try to sleep all the way onto one side so I get the fluffiness and soft feeling, but because it's only a queen and not that wide, I end up rolling into the center where it's caved in. Yes, I bought an as-is mattress, but this is excessive. My biggest beef about it is that it was only discounted to $2500 from $3000. That's no where near an acceptable discount for a mattress in such bad shape that it caves in within one month. If I had gotten it for $1500... okay, half-price... sucks, but I signed on for that risk. I had no idea a $500-only discount could ever come with this much risk. Even though I signed on for an as-is mattress, selling me that mattress for only $500 off the original (less than 20% off) was an absolute scam. I inevitably am going to have to replace the mattress. Initially I thought I would just find the same one at another store because I love(d) it so much... I would never buy a mattress from Mathis again even if it's new with a warranty... but I think I've figured out this is a Mathis-specific brand (William & Lawrence), so it looks like I'll have to find a completely new one. The day I bought this mattress, I spent over $6000 at Mathis. That was following a recommendation from my mom who has shopped at Mathis for years and has spent tens of thousands with them. I will now never buy at Mathis again, not because I don't like their furniture, but because I just got SO screwed on this mattress. $2500 down the toilet, and I'm going to be forced to pay it all over again somewhere else to replace the mattress. As much as I loved Tony, I wish he would've cautioned me about buying mattresses on clearance. What feels awful about it is he presumably made the same commission off the $2500 version as he would've the $3000. If he would've told me the criticality of having a lifetime warranty, I never would've thought twice about paying the extra $500. I really want to cry over this mattress. I'm essentially stuck with it until I can pony up another $3000 of spare money to replace it. And one more knock against them, to tie into the low rating... I don't remember it having used to have been like this, but now every time I walk in the store I feel like there's a hoard of vultures circling me to get my business. I'm very disappointed in my recent experience with Mathis Brothers. I have been a customer for years. I purchased an adjustable mattress 2 years ago. The bed is comfortable however the center of the mattress has a 3 inch hump in the bend of the bed when adjusted. Their is also a sink in the center of the bed. When I call to exchange the mattress using my warranty, I was met with RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The I was treated as If I was asking for a favor and the information I followed to process the claim was incorrect, and for this I was reprimanded by the rude lady. I spent thousands of dollars in that store and the salesman Javier was always so kind. After months of back and forth I'm not expected to pay $300 to return thier defective mattress and I live less then 10 miles from the store. I'm done with Mathis Brothers forever. 10/16/20-Once again we spent almost $3000 on a sofa sectional, their furniture protection won't cover feeding on one of the head rests on the recliner. This set was purchased in February 2018. The recliner makes an atrocious sound as it reclines and retracts back into position. Their technician came out, took a report, and basically came up with the same conclusion and said this is normal wear and tear and it is not covered under the furniture protection. However if it starts to crack then they will cover it. Maybe I should hold a hairdryer to it for eight hours and see what happens! I will never buy another piece of furniture from Mathis Brothers. All they sell is garbage. Everything is basically from China and only good for staging a home and not for real use. Why would you want to spend $2000 or $3000 or even up to $5000 for living room and dining room furniture only to have it last less than three years and sell it on offer up for a fraction of that price? They referred me to one of their furniture repair technicians who quoted an estimate of $200 to repair this flaw. I decided I can go ahead and buy $17 worth of dark brown furniture dye on Amazon, and try and give it a shot myself and see how it turns out. I would highly suggest if you're thinking about buying any leather furniture, or for that matter anything that is supposedly wood, or even some kind of natural finish, that you forgo buying it from Mathis Brothers. They will not stand behind their product, and you're just better off spending a little bit more money and buying it from Costco or somewhere else. read more

Not only that they keep telling me I have to go into a store to pay for it and that they can't deliver it asap ??? I'm so fed up my bedroom was 4k and it's been the worst 4k I ever spent . Also my card declined when they were taking payment over the phone because their payment center is in Oklahoma!!!$ so obviously it instantly flagged with my bank. They won't retry the card but instead keep telling me for security reasons I need to go to the store which is an hour away from my house !!!! David Khoury was very professional. Definitely provided the patience and service I was looking for. I went to Ashley's a couple days before with my GF and I got crap service. "Showed them was I was looking for and he just said we have none of that. Look around." And he just hovered around us. I met David at Mathis and showed him what I was looking for. Couldn't find what I hoping for and out of no where he suggested a set from Ashley's furniture. The color, fabric and comfort was amazing. A complete different design. I had to make sure the set fit in my lvijg room and he responded promptly with every text question. I ended up buying the couches,tables,rugs and dinning set. He priced matched Ashley's. I was going to negotiate like I normally do with Ashley's, but I'm willing to step over a couple hundred dollars to get 5 star service. I ordered a love seat on December 27th. One month later I get a call that I needed to sign a new order before manufacturing could start the order. I was never informed the new order was changing the price. I was told that the new signature was just a process change because I was getting an upgrade to what I ordered but Mathis would honor the original price. Why put the customer in the middle of an internal process. The reason for my Yelp comment is that I reached out to the General Manager and the head of sales. I heard nothing back. Vincent was extremely helpful in showing us options and styles based on the information we shared with him. He took his time with us and never pressured us into anything. He gave us alone time to look for ourselves and also gave us great recommendations. He was knowledgeable, energetic and a pleasure to work with. Chelsea, the sales manager was also a pleasure to work with when I asked her for recommendations on customizing the color on our sofa. Great customer service and a huge selection, but the rug I purchased here was a disaster. It was shedding lots of fur in the beginning, so I thought if I vacuumed it a few times, it would be okay. However, it's been over 6 months already, and it's still shedding. There's gray fur on the couches and the floor. If my kids sit on the rug, they get short gray hairs all over their pants. I am very disappointed in the quality of the rug. This was not a cheap rug either. I paid over $200 for this rug that continues to shed. I completed an online/phone order with Travis. The order process was pressured but ok. The delivery, on the other hand, was awful. The delivery arrived on time with two very nice gentlemen who asked if I wanted the delivery on the porch or garage. I said I wanted the item in my home, he said no, its not Elite service. There was a large hole on the bottom of the box that had been torn open and several other holes in the side of the box. I had no way of knowing if the furniture was damaged on the inside. I was told I couldn't open the box to check the furniture without taking delivery. I called Travis, my original salesman, who was very rude and said he didn't charge me for Elite delivery. I explained he didn't notify me that the item would be in a damaged box and left on my doorstep. He told me that I don't have to take the item, so I sent it back with the delivery company. The delivery gentleman, dispatcher who heard Travis speaking to me, and I were all appalled at how Travis handled the situation. In the end, I don't have the furniture I wanted and I will never shop here again. I am hopeful that management will address the customer service issue. read more

I am really disappointed with Mathis Home. I bought two sofas from them. First, I noticed that the sales representative added an (approximately) $300 charge for a type of insurance that was beyond the warranty and was optional. When I noticed this, I was forced to go in person to get the reimbursement because I did not want to give my credit card number over the phone. I was not informed that the coverage was optional. During delivery, one of the two sofas arrived damaged, and I did not accept the damaged one. Now, I have to spend more time dealing with this situation. I've wasted so much time on this company that I cannot recommend it, even though the sofa I received and accepted seems to be of excellent quality.
