I went in Mathis brothers Ontario today looking for a small desk. I found one in the clearance area I liked. I had many questions regarding this desk and a salesperson ( Viviano ) answered all my concerns. No pressure. He let me think. Well I went shopping to the Mills Mall. Nothing but people and crowds. I went back to Mathis and found Viviano, he remembered me and knew the exact desk I wanted. I then went to the Bistro and enjoyed and rested while my furniture order was completed. (Also the girl waitress/cashier in the Bistro was absolutely the best. Kind , friendly and informative. I mean Really... eats and drinks and a nice place to relax and think at a furniture store.... I just recently moved and had to furnish my new home. I bought furniture from Jeromes, Living Spaces, and Ashley but went to Mathis Bros. in Tustin to purchase my sofa. I have purchased multiple items from them in the past, so I was confident that I would get great quality and customer service. Wrong! I found the couch I wanted and special ordered it. I was told it would take 8-12 weeks. I had to pay a big delivery fee, but felt it was worth it to get what I wanted. Well, when it was delivered, I was told they could not bring it inside. Porch delivery only. Then, I discovered that it was the wrong material, even after the order was triple checked. So, I had to wait another 12 weeks for the correct order. Mathis Bros. would not give me any compensation for the error. I even went to the store and talked to a manager. I will never buy from them again! read more

Since that "NEVER HAPPENED", and believe me im not surprised at this point....I decided to reach out today and speak to Ashley the Sr. Sales associate manager, and to no surprise again, she is not in to take my call. This is after the sales associate I mentioned, lied to me originally saying she would be "calling me soon" which was over 22 days ago, and the sales associate manager said she would be calling me which was 15 days ago and I called leaving a message asking for her to call me back 8 days ago. Zero communication and flat-out ignoring me at this point is what I guess. To make things worse when speaking to the customer service rep today 4/30/24 she offered an update to my order after telling me Ashley was not in... I was shocked to hear that the (mid May/late May) delivery I was given when talking to the sales manager just 15 days ago has now been pushed back to mid-June. And again, no one from mathis brothers botherd to inform me or update me of this change, which confirms the idea I'm being ignored at this point. In conclusion, this is now 5 different delivery dates, none of which I was called or notified of, I have received zero callbacks from management, lied to, and ignored by the sales associate, Sr. manager, sales associate manager, and customer relations manager. For transparency of buyers, I still don't have a concrete date of delivery, just a "possible delivery in mid June", and mathis brothers has had my full payment of over 6 thousand plus dollars since early February...I guess the next step is reaching out to the Better Business Beaureu with all the documented information to date. I'll add for potential buyers here that my experience has gone from bad to worse and now worse to dreadful.. Christy from corporate customer retention attempted to send in a request to get my $100 back for the membership and the Director shut her down since "I used the services". The services are discounted delivery charges. I will not shop here again so when I asked to be refunded, they said no because I saved $7 by deciding to become a member. Saved $7 but lost time with work and my time because of their errors. My couch that was delivered was also NOT right and they have to order another one but I have to wait 6 weeks now. More time I have to miss for the delivery drivers being incompetent and lazy. I know every company has their issues and things happen. But don't say "customer satisfaction is our main priority". Ok, let me just start off by saying that I will NEVER come close to stepping foot in any other furniture store again!! I had heard a lot about Mathis Brother's, but never had been there before. I couldn't believe my eyes as soon as I entered the parking lot of the store, I was stunned to see how HUGE the store is, also gave me the vibes of a casino from the outside look of the building - so you know the money is going to be well spent!! My experience was beyond great! I was greeted by a kind gentleman by the name of Zachary who was very updated with his knowledge on all their products, not a single question was left unanswered! So the shopping began!! I literally filled up my entire house with all of Mathis Brother's products & by far one of THE best qualities out there on any of their items! I still am working with Zach Via phone who is still assisting me with my questions/concerns & additional purchases, giving me the comfort of feeling like I am there in-store shopping being the fact that I live an hour away! I will continue my business with Mathis Brother's & Zach as long as possible, referred many people already & looking forward to my delivery tomorrow!!!! I will never buy anything from Mathis again. My recliner motor died 4 months into it. Tech came out and promised me a 2 weeks turnaround time. That was back in January. It is now April, and I'm still waiting on that motor to arrive (supposedly by boat) before I can even get scheduled for a tech to come back out. Give me a refund, so I can call it a day. read more

Another sales person went to help me and disappeared and sent another who ignored my wife and I. The dining table I purchased was in stock when we came into their Ontario store on 10/16/21. However, it's since been sold to someone else, and is now out of stock because the delivery crew continued to deliver the incorrect table twice (10/26/21 and 10/29/21) to my home. Also, when I reached out to their customer service number for assistance, I waited on hold for 40 minutes, was transferred 5 times and hung up on. I honestly don't know how this company advertises that they provide excellent customer service, because this is certainly not the case. My family had been without a kitchen table for two weeks, and now we have to wait until Saturday, 11/6/21 for Mathis Brothers delivery crew to come pick up the chairs from the dining set before issuing a refund. This has been an EXTREMELY stressful situation for my family! Now my family possibly won't have a dining table for Thanksgiving. We haven't celebrated Thanksgiving since 2019 due to the pandemic, and loss a loved one last year. It's just gets worst and worst and worst!!! It is a shame that I share the same career field in sales!! I can't say there customer service is horrible simply because ITS ABSENT THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They made the sell and you the customer have to follow up with your order because they won't call you. Then YOU the customer have to make sure you correct their mistakes like getting your billing address and delivery address wrong!! And finally after pretty much doing their job and delivery day is here they won't deliver it since the delivery driver can't confirm the delivery address!! FYI both address are on the same block!!! Here's what I experienced: My wife and I purchased a 10k bed with all the "extended add ons" hey no problem I'm in sales make your money! Our sales rep "Van" is a cool guy and reminded me of own of my sales guys! After signing all the paper work and clarifying some of the errors made "Van" suggested our order is probably delayed 2-3weeks and once more we had no issue with it since we expected it with the whole "COVID" delays at the port and what not. Any who 2 weeks go by and I reached out to "Van" and after some delay he finally got back to us saying he had no eta as of yet. I replied "no problem we have one more week as you suggested" I asked him to follow up with me then. To my surprise no follow from Van and so again we reached out to him but he had no new updates. Finally another week later he informed us that we are having our order delivered today Monday the 6th with a two hour window to expect an email to confirm the delivery address. We get the email the day before and for the fifty trillion time our delivery address was incorrect I called and spoke to "Candice" in their delivery department to correct this information and I asked to please please please made sure it was documented correctly to avoid any further delays! Well guys what potential Mathis brothers customers !!!?? That's right you guessed it! They still showed up to the wrong address!!! I spoke with the driver and he said I would have to call Mathis Brothers and clarify it with them. Uh again at this point I feel like I work for them! I call back and long story short no one knows what's why this is happening that they will call me back!! Alex(One if the Managers there) If I ran my business with the lack of customer service you and your team provided I would be out of business in a matter of months!! I wanted to come in and update this. After dealing with the store numerous times and getting no where, I took to Yelp. I have to say I was surprised that I got a response so fast. A gentleman by the name of Justin Lewis contacted me and got this resolved. I told him I absolutely was not going to send my couch in for repairs. There was the third party that initially came out way back when, I think it's called Priority Repairs. I could be off but I know the name starts with Priority. The tech by the name of Craig had assured me it was repairable in home although it was a big job. Fast forward, I told Justin he needed to contact the third party and get that guy back out because I didn't want to deal with the Mathis techs any longer. Craig came out and fixed all the issues within 2 days. He completely had to pull the couch apart down to the wooden frame and redo the shotty work from whatever location it came from. He even removed a stain that came from the factory. If this review was for Craig and his employer, it would be a 5 star. However, I still had issues with Mathis during this updated process post-yelp. My issue was resolved although untimely and unprofessionally on the Mathis end. So I will bump it up to 2 stars. Throughout, they never offered any reasonable resolutions, never tried to rectify any issues, offer a "loaner couch", anything of that nature. I still will not do business with them going forward and pray that this couch holds up so I don't have to try and have warranty work again. But kudos to Justin and Craig for resolving the issues when no one else would. read more

We went in and bought a couch and a rug. Couch was delivered as promised three days after purchase. The rug we weren't told until we were done paying and setting up delivery that it was coming from a separate vendor(like amazon) they said so this company would be emailing us within a day or two. We have texted and called the store and our sales rep multiple times. It's now two weeks later and no email or contact from this mystery company and nothing but a let me check from the store. I bought the rug from mathis brothers not this other supplier! The reason I came to Mathis brothers and didn't order online was to avoid this. Absolutely horrible! Sat on his rear end and told us to get the order number for him! Said he needed to hurry up and get us to the table so we didn't change our mind! We had to walk out. The moment we stepped in, it felt like we were outnumbered--20 salespeople for every customer. My wife and I simply wanted to browse, but apparently, that wasn't allowed without a sales rep hovering over us. Even after I politely asked for space, the salesperson said he couldn't step away. I wish I could give negative stars!!! Our sales person Estaban lied to us about delivery time. We made it clear to him that we had an event at our home and would like this furniture there in time for this event, which was 2 weeks out from the day we made our purchase. He reassured us that was no issue, the pieces were local and we would have them within 5 days. He was calling my phone with no issue and communicating to close our sale with no problem . Once the sale was final he ignored our calls/text or said he would get back to me but never did!! He gave us a complete run around, he made some excuse that had to do with the 4th of July holiday, funny he didn't mention that when we were finalizing our purchase. I would have not been so upset about the change in delivery time or days if he simply would have communicated and been honest. Not me having to chase an answer. The only way I was able to resolve these issue and get answers was by calling customer service. The customer service department openly admitted that they receive several calls weekly and daily of the sales team making false commitments on delivery times and inventory availability. The sales manager finally took my call and said she would get back to me after a few days, again never heard from her. I called customer service again and a note was apparently made that they tried to call but no voicemail was set up, lies again. I checked our contract and all number listed have voicemail and none of them had missed calls from anyone at Mathis!! The furniture was delivered finally 1 day before our event, but it as a very disheartening experience. Had they just been forthcoming from the very beginning again, I would have not been so upset! This is very unfortunate we had planned to return and purchase from Mathis in the future, we admire the quality. But we cannot condone a company that lacks and allows this level of integrity. My experience with Mathis was not as I expected. I spend about 3 hours to get the best mattress for me the sales person was more into making the sale that helping me. I bought a set of bed with the mattress and base and headboard according to the sales person all should fit and work for me. When the delivery and the installation was done the Mathis tech mentioned that the headboard will not stay in place it tremble, shake. I went back to the Tustin store and talked one of the managers and he was going to send back the tech, but that was 2 weeks ago and nobody has come. I just bought a new home and still have a lot of furniture to go and you were my alleged place to go buy but No. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to take my business elsewhere. I started with the purchase of a bedroom set and one of your teammates sold me on getting a used mattress because it was at a great price and it still had a warranty, I figured since you guys are such great people, Id purchase a sectional as well, which is great. But now the mattress that I was sold a little less than a month ago with the mechanical base is falling apart. Seams are ripping and all the upholstery is coming apart. It's embarrassing to say that you guys will not give me the opportunity in being a long time customer and after spending thousands of dollars you won't return the mattress to invest on a newer mattress out of your own shop! I was told to just deal with it !.. and if I wanted another, I'd have to fully purchase it. My husband and I found the bedroom set of our dreams at Bob's Furniture but decided to get it from Mathis Brothers because they had a better deal on the same exact design (Bed frame with headboard, night stand and dresser with mirror for about $1.450). It took them 2 and a half months to deliver our furniture. After reviewing our invoice, we noticed that they charged us for each piece separately instead of in a combo, like it was displayed and advertised in the showroom. We ended up paying $100 more and didn't get the sheets we were supposed to get. I texted my sales associate about it and she was playing dumb the whole time, saying that she was working on it and never got back to me, then stopped replying to my texts. I'm sure she didn't want to fix the problem so her commission stayed the same, which is very disrespectful to the customer. A year later I got charged for some rewards plan that I had no idea about. I called and they said they were going to refund the money but that I would lose my points, whatever. It's been a week and I haven't gotten my money back when they said it'll take 1 to 2 business days. I came to the customer service office and the lady was VERY RUDE saying that they were closed on Wednesdays when it says they're open Monday through Sunday at the door. Like, change that so I don't waste my time coming all the way here! Stopped by today for the first time (Saturday, 09/11/21). We were looking to buy a new couch however the sales rep, who initially introduced himself, kept following us the whole time. I understand it's their job to provide excellent and quick customer service to consumers but my experience today felt a bit like 1984 where Big Brother is always watching every move behind my back. It made us very anxious and pressured. We ended up not buying anything. Might come back next time around but I hope I'm not being followed every second and every step. We also stopped by other furniture stores nearby today and the sales rep, who also introduced themselves, did not follow us at all. I felt more comfortable, relaxed, and not in a rush. I can see why Mathis has a 3.1 on their reviews. You think they would want to improve but they have your money they don't care. I have written a bad review before. So here we go again. I bought a Bernhardt leather recliner. I had it for one year it cost $1500 and the dye came off where your head goes on the chair. The warranty is crap don't waist your money. They don't cover anything it's a scam. So I am stuck with this piece of junk and they just say sorry. Fix it give me a new chair. Have great customer service like the owners say in the commercial. We went to Mathis to look for a new dinning room table and ran into a character named Adam Wolf. I say character because he was lively, animated and excited about his job. He showed us many options for tables including building our own. He was knowledgeable and able to quickly check stock, look for choices not on the floor and gave us a feeling he knew every piece of furniture in the place. He was fine with us checking a second place after putting a $100 deposit on our first choice dinning set so it wouldn't get bought in the meantime. The visit to a competing store was a bust and we were quickly back at Mathis to wrap up the purchase. 100% appreciate Adam, his sense of humor and knowledge. read more
