Very polite and professional. Not pushy at all. We met Ramzi (Ontario store) and he was super awesome and very patient and explained everything so well. He helped furnish our whole house in a few hours. The store had everything we needed and wanted. They even had a cafe for drinks and food. Ramzi was very attentive and answered all our questions. He did not try to up sell or hover around us. He stayed back and and let my wife and I talk in private and make decisions. The buying and after care, the customer service and manager team was horrible. From applying for credit to getting "discounts" to getting out furniture delivered it has been a mess. Do not buy furniture from salesman Jake Gutierrez. Jake tries to win you over by being overly nice and helpful, but he's just like a used car salesman. He will literally say anything and lie just to make a sell. My fiancé and I wanted to purchase a couch that we loved, and we actually found it for a thousand less cheaper online, but Jake said he could price match us. We told him we needed a couch ASAP which he said he could get it to us ASAP. Because of this price match, we thought we would no longer need to purchase the membership, but he said we would need to buy the membership in order for them to price match, absolutely ridiculous right? We only decided to go through with it because he promised the couch would get there later that week and the membership we didn't mind since we were planning to furnish our entire new home and planned to come back to Mathis home. He also said if we purchased the membership that our shipping would come at a discount, then when checking out, that was a lie, we had to pay full cost of shipping. So this "price match" was not a price match at all. Before leaving, he kept insisting we use our membership benefits and go get something at the cafe, but we decided not to. Delivery was scheduled for Friday that same week and we heard nothing. We had to call only to find out that Jake lied. The person we spoke to said it wasn't in stock and that the couch wouldn't be delivered for another month and a half. We requested a full refund. Im also sure if we had did what he said and went to use our membership benefits at the cafe, that they would refuse to refund the membership fee. We also got the insurance for the couch since my fiancé wanted to (I did not want to since I already read how terrible it is) and Jake kept saying how great the insurance is, which is how I could tell he would say anything to make a sell. Don't be fooled. This place is not the place to shop. We decided to go to Ashley's instead and got a couch later that week. Way better service. We will be furnishing our home through them. First and foremost I want to say that Mathis Brothers has always taken care of myself and my family for over 20 years. I made my TempurPedic mattress purchase a couple weeks ago. I am beyond impressed by the simplicity of the entire experience. I owe much of this to Jorge and Albert who assisted me in the purchase. Albert answered all my questions regarding the mattresses. Jorge was more than helpful with financing and obtaining accessories for the mattress. They were very informative and not so "pushy" for the sale. They were both extremely patient. Like, very patient. I must have asked over 20 - 30 questions and taken up 45+ minutes. They took care of all the paperwork. Walked with me to the cashiers to explain the details to the cashier. The sales crew seems knowledgeable and very helpful in terms of "the sale." My issues were with the delivery of a leather power sofa and the aftermath. Attached are pictures and a short video of the delivery. I ultimately told them to return the sofa, to stop them from shoving the sofa, inch by inch, into the home office. It seemed the delivery crew of three were not well trained. The sales staff try to assist, but are very limited in their authority. Mathis is a big company, but customer service should be quick. Very bad experience. As a loyal customer from 2018, the company doesn't really care even though they always saying they value their customers. We purchased a sleeper, desk and lamp two weeks ago and paid for Elite delivery for delivering sleeper and install it as the sales person said the sleeper is very heavy. So instead of using free shipping, we paid $149 and okay for them to deliver at same day. When they delivered, they noticed the sleeper is too tall for hallway and too big for the door so they said we could return and also got the delivery charge back as they didn't take out the sleeper from the truck and didn't do any installation for the desk nor lamp because those two items were for free shipping. Now when we contacted the company for the reimbursement, they refused to refund the delivery charge and said the delivery person had no right to say anything for the company. Till now, no one is taking care of our issue and I'm so disappointed with this company. Lesson learned and get away from this furniture company!! read more

In fact, it seems like it's the training material for all of their sales staff since they are so good at playing the role of Alex Forest, the insane stalker portrayed by Glenn Close. Seriously, if there was an award for creepy salesperson of the year, I'm sure someone from here would win the award every year. You would think with the rise of the me too movement and words like "safe space" in the common vernacular, they would get a clue, but it looks like they have doubled down on their forceful interactions and obsessive behavior. I understand that you may be working on straight commission, but it would probably make the customer more comfortable if they had a few inches to breathe, let alone think. Actually, no, not probably...it would DEFINITELY be more comfortable that way! If that wasn't bad enough, I'm so triggered by reading other people's comments on here and have anxiety about the Mathis bros continuing to follow me even outside the confines of their store by responding to this review. My husband wanted a power recliner sofa so I looked online at multiple furniture companies. I wanted quality and comfort over price. I visited the showrooms for both Living Spaces and Mathis Brothers in Irvine. The Mathis showroom in Irvine was newly opened and the layout was impressive. I had a particular style in mind which unfortunately didn't align with what most power sofas look like. Fortunately I found one by lazy boy and another by Bernhardt that I liked. I took my husband to the Mathis showroom in Ontario which is closer to our home. We were helped by Kianoosh Chavoshi who showed us to the models we we're interested in. He talked us through the quality, warranties, options etc. He checked on inventory and delivery dates. We were provided all the information needed to make a decision. We decided on the Bernhardt, paid and scheduled delivery. Kianoosh provided us our delivery info and we were on our way. The next day we received an email confirmation of our 2 hour delivery window for the following day. The day of delivery Kianoosh texted a link to our live tracking and the delivery team called to let us know even a more specific time for their arrival. Like clockwork the delivery team arrived. They were courteous, professional and friendly. I paid for the white glove service and the couch was brought in situated to my preference and plugged in. Quick and easy. Just what I expected. We bought a couch that is still on warranty and they give us a # to call for a third party so they can check if they can fix it or Mathis will fix the problem. The guy came and he said Mathis will be responsible for repairs the third party company called them and they oicked up our couch Jan 30, 2022, they told us it will take about 3 weeks. We called them middle of March and customer service emailed me March 21 and said she called that parts will arrive April 4. Then we haven't heard back I called the customer service also emailed them April 18 and she said she haven't heard anything yet and she emailed the parts department. Up until now no email or calls from Mathis customer service or parts department for any information about the repair that needs to be done.
