Let me start by saying I hate to leave any company a bad review, but this company has left me no choice because of their lack of ability to resolve any issues with their customers. We purchased a custom sofa and chair in early December (still not here by the way, and no expected date). In early February, during our time waiting, I knew I needed some bedroom sets as well, I saw them on their website as well as many other websites (very common bedroom) but went ahead and contacted my same salesperson at Mathis to give her the sale as she had helped me with the sofa set. On Mathis's website it states the beds should arrive in 3 to 4 weeks, and I also checked the manufacturer's website which said they are in stock, so I thought excellent, these are in stock and should be here soon. I did all this over the phone with my salesperson, and even asked her if I should come in to make the purchase, but she said no just give me your credit card and I will take care of it. So a couple of weeks go by, and I text her when my bedrooms should be here. She tells me she cannot give me an exact date, but maybe 4/20. I told her how can that be when your website says 3 to 4 weeks and they are in stock with the manufacturer? She says these are custom and we cannot give an exact date. I tell her I can purchase these beds on any other website and they will come in a week, how can it be so long with you guys? After going back and forth we get nowhere, so I talk to her manager. Again, they reference that I "signed" and should have known that these would take time as they are custom. (custom to them means not in stock at their warehouse) We go back and forth and I tell them I never signed anything, and then someone sends me two invoices that have my alleged signature and initials all over it!!! I tell them that is NOT MY SIGNATURE, and NEVER HEAR BACK from anyone. This is pure forgery and fraud. We try and contact their corporate office, they tell us oh someone will get back to you, and again, no one ever does. All they do is tell us someone will get back to us, and again it goes in circles as no one cares. Under no circumstances can a salesperson sign on a customer's behalf, especially when if I had seen what needed to be signed with a time frame that DID NOT work for me, I would NOT HAVE PURCHASED anything. This company is unethical, deceptive, dishonest, NOT transparent in what they are doing. I WILL NEVER purchase from them again. No one should treat their customers like this, especially repeat ones as I was. There are many other reputable companies that give you honest timeframes, that would never sign on your behalf, and that would RESPOND to your issues and try to make them right. None of that exists here, they just want a quick sale, and then they are done with you. read more

We were in the market to purchase living room furniture. I made a list of stores to shop, but we stopped at #2 on the list, Mathis Home. Kora greeted us at the door and helped us pick out our furniture. We were there for maybe 30 minutes before we decided! It was an incredible experience. We bought an entire bedroom set, a dinning room set with a buffet table, and one of there most expensive beds they have there. I will talk about what I'm most disappointed with first. First off, the shipping department is complete trash. I've had 3 deliveries from them from August of this year to now. And every single time they not only forgot something but were rude about it too. My bedroom set they forgot the slats so we could put our mattress on it. Which left us sleeping on the floor for a few days before they delivered the rest after fighting them to hurry on the delivery date. The second go around with the dining set they forgot the knobs to hang the shelves inside of our buffet table. I've contacted them 4 times now where I was told they would ship them to me. To this day I still don't have those knobs... Then with our mattress. Our sales guy told us to make sure they leave a certain packet for us so we can order the right sheets for our bed. Well upon delivery they tried to throw away the packet. And they kept shoving there paperwork in front of me. And when I tried to explain I can't sign until I have that packet so I have everything delivered they became really frustrated with me. Overall the experience hasn't been fun. And I'm still pissed I can't hang the shelves inside my buffet table. So if you like missing pieces and crappy attitudes this place is for you. The next thing is although all the furniture is pretty. It's not high quality. There are quite a few of my drawers on my furniture set that do not close properly and slightly stick out. Overall this place is just ok. The sales guy we had was Kianoosh. I spoke with GBS warranty and they told me that the protection plan that was submitted to them by Mathis brothers did not cover electric; however, Mathis Brothers may have sent them the wrong plan since I was told at the time of the sale the protection plan would cover electric. They told me to call Mathis Brothers and have Mathis Brothers resubmit the correct warranty plan. So I called Mathis Brothers again and after waiting on hold for about 30 minutes I was told that they didn't have GBS warranty in 2019 and the protection plan they did have did not cover electric. So he is unsure why the sales person (Terrance -watch out for him, he might lie to you too) would tell me that. Now I am waiting for the Manager of Customer Service (Gwen Clark) to call me back. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Don't buy the warranty. It doesn't cover ANYTHING!! i bought my couch about 2 years ago. Avoid this over advertised warehouse of mediocre furniture. I am a long term customer of Mathis Brothers....but no longer. I had been holding onto a customer credit of 136.00 since my last purchase 3 years ago. When I tried to make a purchase in September 2021.....it was allowed but they tried to overcharge us on our delivery fee. You don't want to go here. There are many furniture stores that are not of the car dealership mentality! Literally, my sales person had to run back and forth to the store manager and dickering on the price. Purchased a sofa set (non-customized) on 7/20/21. Sales rep stated that we were looking at mid Sept as being realistic. I said so that means end of Sept beginning of Oct realistically....he smiled and said yes. I said quote, "I can live with that...just communicate as it's best to under promise and over perform." Since I consider myself an informed consumer, I figured that with supposed shortages of supplies, a delay was realistic. Fast forward to end of Sept....call the sales rep p# on the business card he provided with no response. Call the actual store and am told "sorry" about no letting you know and that my order is scheduled to be delivered by end of Oct but I'll recieve a phone call. They'll also let my sales rep know. Yeah...OK whatever.... Fast fast forward to today, Oct 30....I HAVE TO CALL AGAIN as I've received NO phone call from the rep or store location. I'm then told "sorry" again, that delivery is slated for Nov 21, and "my rep" is on an indefinite leave. Almost 3 1/2 months later and not once have they called me. Here's my issue....out of basic principle....I gave this business my trust, money and most importantly.... an opportunity. In any world, business, social, or personal.... what we all want is communication. I can assume I'm not the only customer who has been neglected like this. We were instantly greeted and set up with a sales associate. They answered our questions and didn't hover over us and let us browse around. We were looking for a new bed and mattress and they were very helpful with us selecting a bed and mattress. The sales associate service was 5 stars. What fell flat was the delivery. I was never contacted the day before about my delivery time, nor was I contacted 30 mins before either. I myself had to contact customer service to give me a window time frame. And it was later than what we expected, which is why we were waiting for the time frame the day before. The actual delivery people, were nice and professional and very helpful, they also were 5 stars. I also had ordered a pillow that was not in stock at the time of my purchase I was told I would be contacted by someone to set up the delivery. Again I never was & again i had to contact someone myself. Customer service had set me up with a delivery and set day, and it did not get delivered. Again, had to contact someone and my pillow was never put on a truck and it was delayed a day. This is all fine, but the communication falls very short and it's frustrating. Buyer Beware!! I recently purchased a bedroom set from the Ontario store. I was originally going for the white but found out that parts of the set were not available and were on back order. Because of this i decided to go for a different set that was available sooner. I was told that everything was available immediately except for the dressers which would be available in a week. I purchased the set, went home, put the items together that i did have, and threw my old dressers out only to be told on the day the new dressers were supposed to be available that i had to wait another 2 to 3 weeks. These furniture salesman are like car salesman, they tell you whatever lie is necessary to make the sale. I was not only given a forsure date of availability from the salesman but also from the sales manager and the person that i made Payement to. I just picked up my new sofa and love seat from Mathis Brothers. I worked with Mario Solis Jr. and he was exceptional. He even answered my questions and helped me over the phone on his off day. On another occasion, he helped get the balance paid for my furniture over the phone because I was having trouble getting through to someone on the main number. As for the sofa and loveseat, it was an amazing price for "partial" top grain leather. Time will tell how it holds up, but it surpasses my expectations so far. I sell outdoor furniture myself and I could not touch the $600 price range (each) for a similar quality for a sofa or love seat. The store has a huge showroom as well at the furniture selection. Awful customer service/cheaply made furniture/creepy delivery employees/shitty repair work!!! Go ANYWHERE else but here!!!! Below is the email I had to send to the president of the company after I had several managers and supervisors pass the buck when trying to resolve a very serious concern! Good afternoon Mr. Mathis, I'm writing in regard to a voicemail I just left on your line at (405) 951-1235. I am a customer from the Southern California area; I purchased several pieces of furniture from your store and have had nothing but problems with the sofa and loveseat. Basically, I received a broken sofa and have been trying to get the issue resolved since November of 2018. Initially I was told by one of your repairmen that nothing was broken, even though we could hear popping sounds and eventually metal on metal grinding when we would recline one of the seats! I finally got a new repair request granted after the couch TIPPED OVER on top of me and my newborn daughter when we lying down and tried to recline the seats!!! The frame is completely bent so it's off balance (my own inspection and analysis) and could have killed my child if I hadn't been able to brace the couch on my own body instead of it falling on her or me falling on top of her with the full weight of the couch on top of me!!! But I have yet to speak with anyone on your staff who seems even the slightest bit concerned! The sofa was picked up and "reinforced" and returned to me about a month later, it was still broken and I even climbed underneath it when they redelivered it to me and found a broken support beam in one area that was snapped in half!!!!! It hadn't been repaired at all and I honestly doubt it was ever even inspected! They just sent it back to me, still defective, SAFETY HAZARDS and all! I called the repair center because the delivery guys refused to take it back with them and I was offered an exchange, which I was happy to accept. I was told by "Marti" at the repair center that the sofa was on back order and wouldn't be back in stock until April (3 months later) she told me to keep my old sofa and they would make the exchange when the new piece came in. We unplugged the mechanical components of the sofa and sat on it as little as possible for the next 3.5 months. April came and went and no word came from your company so I called to check on the status of the sofa; that's when I was told "oh actually that sofa was out of warranty so we can't exchange it now". Nobody bothered to call me and let me know this information!! If I hadn't contacted you, I would still be waiting!! I was told by "Theresa" that the person who had promised me the exchange was no longer with the company and that there was nothing she could do besides put in another repair request. I was incredibly upset at the utter lack of care or concern or professionalism! She said she had to "order the part" to repair it and that it was coming from overseas so it would take a while before they could take my sofa in. I was just expected to not sit on it for the next 4 months!! *I also have NO idea how she could have possibly known which "part" needed to be ordered for the repair considering the last time it was in the warehouse it was labeled as fixed and sent back to me! How the heck do you order a part for a repair when you have no idea what is broken because you haven't even inspected it since you brought it back to me?! Unless they knew what was broken and just decided NOT to do the repair when they had it in the warehouse previously! I tried to return the other 3 which was never use or plastic was never taken out. This is within 3 days I bought them. But they said they are not returnable, i will never buy there again. I placed my original order 08/08/2020, for my dream furniture in my new home, I have already placed a review before so I wont go into detail, long VERY long story after 5 deliveries and constant returns, after incorrect orders and mistakes, after the nightmare we have been with for the past year and a half, constant emails to request assistant with no return, we will be filing a formal complain the the BBB. After a year and a half Mathis finally contacted me, however they want me to pay for items they delivered wrong and were returned. They never contacted me about the furniture item I last refused to accept, because they would have to take it back, but to charge they do contact right away. So I spent an entire day working an excel sheet with the cashier supervisor who was going to take it up to her manager, her manager apparently decided he did not have the time or care to contact me and I was therefore recommended to contact head quarters and Rick directly. Rick I am sure it is not you responding to these messages but an assistant, however I will begin my new year dedicated to bring justice to the injustice your company stands for, to fight for my right as a consumer, and to bring to light the horrific HORRIFIC business practice Mathis Brothers has. Very upset with this furniture company! We went in there with high hopes, we had heard such great things. Our sales girl, Emma was amazing! Unfortunately, we are so angry with the furniture. We bought a bunkbed for my son on a Saturday, went in on Sunday to pick it up, because the delivery charge was outrageous!! Got home to find that we were missing pieces. My husband went back on Monday, got home to find that we were missing screws and instructions! I recently had to purchase a lift chair for my mom. A friend of mine had been doing some reconnaissance on my behalf and suggested Mathis Home and in particular, the sales rep Adam Wolf. I went in the other day and Adam was there to assist. He had the right amount of being around and being available, and leaving you alone to just explore and contemplate. Once we made a decision, Adam sat down with us and took the time to talk about all the options we had and walked us through everything. He's been ridiculously responsive, friendly, and kind. Plus, the guy knows furniture. He can tell you what's a good buy and what isn't. Hard to find someone who actually likes the merchandise, cares about it and is willing to share thoughts. Finally, I just have to say, the guy handled himself like a pro and he hasn't even been there two weeks yet. This says a lot about the kind of professional Adam is. I recently purchased a sofa and two chairs. Their selection was great and I thought the value was fine. One problem, when I was testing floor model I saw damage and I noticed it when I sat in it, and when the delivery was made to my home, one of the chairs that they brought me was the same chair that was on the floor. Yes, the floor model was sold to me for full price. Just to say I was not very happy about this. I called the salesman and told him the situation. Luckily they made it right for me, but it took over a month because the chair had to be shipped from another state. I would like to review my recent visit. A big thank you to Javier Rodriguez for an outstanding stress free visit. I needed to do an exchange for a defective mattress. He assisted me and also a tv stand I needed. I had called Javier ahead of time and discussed with him my situation and what I needed. When I arrived Javier already knew what to show me exactly. That really saved me time which I appreciated. I ended up buying a better mattress and got a good deal on the tv stand. I'm very happy with my visit and purchase. Only purchase here if you want to receive damaged goods with no indication of making it right. If you like long wait times for customer service, then this is your place. I bought a dining set here and waited almost 2 weeks for delivery and the table was chipped. The delivery guy convinced me that Mathis Bros. would make it right. 2 weeks after that, after 4 phone calls, and being told the table would be replaced, a guy comes over today to say he's only here to "look at it", and then says it needs to be repaired - it's the delivery company's fault. I don't care who's fault it is. I didn't buy a table to be repaired. I bought a new table and want it in new condition. Don't buy anything here. UPDATE 8/1/21: After being told that someone would come out today to replace the dining set, the guy shows up and says he's missing the table leaf and can come back tomorrow. UNBELIEVABLE!! After complaining to the guy, he said he'll go pick up the leaf piece and will be back in an hour. (I'm not holding my breath). How does Mathis Bros. stay in business being so shady!?! read more
